All through the night I'll be watching over you*
As I stand in the shadows of her room watching over her, I can't help but feel confused. Why am I here? She should have been eliminated by now; she's only an obstacle in my mission. Should have been, but my mission is protecting her and her ideals for true peace.
*And through bad dreams I'll be right there, baby
Holding your hand, telling you everything is all right*
She cries out in her sleep, plagued by bad dreams. For some reason, I rush to her side and take her hand, which calms her, and I tell her everything is fine and that it is only a bad dream. 'What am I doing' I silently ask myself. I shouldn't be comforting her! Maybe this is the side she tells me she sees. It is my mission to protect the "Dove of Peace"
*And when you cry I'll be right there
Telling you you were never anything less than beautiful*
I let go of her hand and slowly step away, which makes her cry out. At first, I thought nothing of it, but then her cries soon turned to sobs, so I returned to her to her side. I hear her ask "Heero, where did you go?" I push her honey blonde hair from her face. "Don't worry Relena," I tell her, "I'm right by your side" Her sobs faded to sniffles and I knew she would be fine.
*So don't you worry*
I stand and place a gentle kiss to her lips and she smiles in her sleep. Ever so quietly, I slip out her balcony door and disappear. "Relena, I promise to return to you one day when I'm ready to." And Heero Yuy never breaks a promise.
*I'm your angel standing by*
