Summary: When nurse Caroline Forbes is hired by Elijah Mikaelson to take care of his younger brother with a terminal illness, Klaus, she didn't expect to fall in love with the charismatic blonde.
A: I don't own TVDU or any characters. I'm sorry, my english is horrible.
Klaus was half asleep, lying on his bed, his new masseur should be here in about 20 minutes, but honestly all he wanted to do right now was fall asleep for 1000 years. He was just...extremely tired, more tired than he even thought it was possible to be. Rebekah had walked into his room more than fifteen minutes ago, wanting to get him dressed for his appointment, but she had agreed when Klaus kept telling her 'one more minute, one more minute', her worst mystake, finding it impossible for her to say him 'no'.
Klaus finally managed to find the strength to stand up and let Rebekah help him put on a new hanley. After a moment of relaxing silence, Klaus said, unsure of himself:
"I keep thinking about what you said this morning about Finn and the hospice? Back then, you were right...I had just been diagnosed with an unprecedented disease, I didn't know what was wrong with me, I didn't know anything , I was young and scared...and he looked for hospices and was ready to hospitalize me without even telling me, but now...now that I know something, now that I know for sure that I'm going to die, I'm thinking that maybe the hospice may be a good idea?"
"You're saying you want to move to a hospice?"
Rebekah's face was pure confusion and there was something sad in her eyes…she wanted to be by Nik's side in his final months, after all that was the definition of Always and Forever, but still, maybe it wasn't such a bad idea if that was what he wanted...Nik would be surrounded by nurses constantly, in a calm and peaceful place, maybe by a beach, maybe he could paint the waves of the sea as they crash on the shore….
"I don't know...I... I will think." Klaus said to her, with concentrated eyes. "Where's Caroline? She said she'd be right over to take my perfusion off.
But before Rebekah could even open her mouth, Caroline came running into the room.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I was preparing the medical equipment and I didn't look at the clock."
Klaus smiled.
"It's okay, love."
"Are you ready for me to remove your perfusion?" Caroline asked him, preparing some wads of cotton wool.
Klaus licked his lips and said softly:
"It's going to hurt…I'm...I'm scared..."
"Aw, Nik, it's alright, it'll be over before you know it." Rebekah said, hugging her brother.
"I'll just take it off until your masseuse leaves, and then I'll put another one on, it's fine." the Forbes girl kissed his neck.
In a quite little time, Klaus was ready, and his perfusion was removed.
"You're so cute together, you know? I'm glad I found out about your relationship." Rebekah grinned, zipping up Klaus' blouse. "Nik...are you feeling ok?" she added, noticing Klaus' watery eyes as he looked at the old perfusion.
"No, not really...just...look at me, Bekah, I'm useless, and Caroline, I'm not good enough for you, and yet you care about me, even though you'll inevitably end up heartbroken because you're in love with, practically, a corpse... I'm pathetic, I'm useless, I could have graduated from the most prestigious art college in Louisiana, I could have owned a gallery, I could have made art for the world, I could have done what I love! But instead, look at me: slowly dying in a hospital bed in my brother's house, being dressed by my sister."
Klaus felt vulnerable, the girls had realized. He was exposed before them, lying in the hospital bed, pale, weak, his strength and his mental health walls had fallen, he was slowly dying, both physically and mentally...
"I...I'm disfiguring... I lost hope too late, I focused on the possible working of a new treatment that turned out to be as useless as the others instead of focusing on really living, embracing my last few months, so don don't ask me if I'm ok, because I'm going to lie to you, Bekah. Yes, I'm fine."
Rebekah rushed to him, pulling him into a grizzly hug, tears welling up in her eyes as she pushed Nik's head into her shoulder, a habit she had borrowed from Elijah.
"You are incredible, you live...and you fight. You're strong, Nik, powerful, it hurts my heart to have to remind you of this every couple of days, but it's the truth. You are amazing, you prove the doctors they were wrong, because you're capable of fighting with this, you live until the very last end and you're amazing."
Caroline just sat there in silence. She couldn't butt in, she couldn't interfere, this was a family moment, Rebekah was the best person to discuss this with Klaus, but she sat there staring at the blonde in the bed, who not too long ago she had watched decomposing -on his bedroom floor, with his abusive stepfatherpassed out in a corner.
"I told Rebekah that I want to enter a hospice." Klaus said, turning to Caroline taking her hand.
"What?"

In a few minutes, Klaus was propped up against the pillows in bed when a redhead walked into the room. She measured him from head to toe, and then, with a smile on her face, said:
"Hi, my name is Aurora De Martel and I will be your new masseuse."
Klaus wasn't in the mood for the appointment, he was tired. When Aurora noticed that he was ignoring her, she continued:
"Let's get started. You can lie down in bed, on the massage table, or sit in a recliner or chair."
Elijah had warmed the room before. Klaus tried to lie on his stomach on the bed, but it was a little more complicated than he had expected. Aurora walked up to him, placing one hand on his waist and the other close to his lower back, declaring that she wanted to help him. She positioned her lips very close to his, staring at them, and eventually helped him turn onto his stomach.
Aurora took some rose-scented lotions out of her bag and moved the towels Elijah had prepared for him on the nightstand onto the bed.
"I will include modalities like relaxation massage, therapeutic massage, reiki, touch for health, craniosacral therapy, polarity therapy, tuina or acupressure throughout the sessions to see which one you react to better. If you feel sick let me know, I've already spoken to your doctor and modified the procedures for you."
Then Aurora began. She covered most of Klaus' back with a towel, less the part that was being massaged, and started with soft touches. Promoting soft tissue changes is important for the physical and emotional symptom management. Massage therapy can be used independently or in conjunction with other treatments and is a complementary therapy that is not a replacement for conventional medicine.
It was relaxing. It cleared his mind and relaxed his muscles, taking away his stress. The room was quiet, the warmth had entered his heart, and suddenly he was no longer feeling sick. He was about to fall asleep a few times, and he finally did, as Aurora gently pressed his back.

Caroline was walking around downtown. She had just been on a quick shopping spree and wanted to go to Bonnie's house, the young fashion designer had invited Caroline to try on her new creations and she was delighted. Suddenly, her phone rang, it was her mother.
"Hi mom."
"Hi Caroline." Liz said sweetly, then added, "I called about Founder's Day, so can you handle the set-up?"
"Yes, of course, I'll ask my boss for a few days off and come to Mystic Falls early."
"Great, don't forget the dinner with the founding families."
Yeah, of course...how could she forget? Dinner with the founding families... Elena...Tyler...it will be definitely fun.
"Of course not. Mom, I have to go, I'll call you later. I love you."
"I love you too, Caroline." the sheriff said, then hung up the phone.
Before going to Bonnie's, Caroline had to get her bag from her house, but before she could open the door, she noticed a truck pull up in front of her house, and a man dressed as a postman who looked a little a bit tired come out of it.
"You're Caroline Forbes?"
"Yes...?" Caroline answered confused.
She hadn't ordered anything, or at least she didn't remember having.
"I have like 300 bouquets of flowers for you, they have already been paid for." the postman said, opening the truck door.
The back of the truck was filled with pink roses, you could barely see the white of the walls, and the bright petals were almost singing in the wind, it was...amazing.
"It came with a note." the postman added, handing Caroline a white envelope with an "M" on it.
- I hope you like it. See you tomorrow.
Love, Klaus

Kaus wheeled his wheelchair to his brother's bedroom door late at night, dressed only in a black robe and a pair of sweatpants. He couldn't sleep. He'd tried everything, but for some reason he couldn't sleep and he'd run out of sleeping pills, so that was really a problem. When he walked in he noticed that Kol was still in jeans, he must have been at a party until recently, so the blond man shook him gently, waking him up.
"What, Nik~" Kol started to say sleepily but then stopped. "What is it?"
"I can't sleep...Kol..." Klaus said softly, with his face pale and yawning slightly.
Kol immediately recognizes his brother's cry for help, cloaked in a whisper, so he helped Nik get into bed next to him, pulling the covers over them.

A: Klaus might turn himself into a hospice, which could really help him, but that would also mean he would have to be away from Caroline. What are your thoughts?
