Living Still, Loving Always, Remembering in Love Chapter 7: Remembering In Love: Part 4, a paw patrol fanfic

It was the week of Chase and Skye's wedding. They both were very busy making sure everything was ready. On the day before the big day Skye was out with her mom while Chase was getting everything on his side ready. Out in town Skye and Rebecca were getting the last bit of decorations to send to the church later on to be set up. As they were heading out Rebecca decided to strike up a conversation.

"So are you excited for tomorrow?"

"Very. Ever since he asked me to marry him on New Year's."

"I'm sure. Well if you could spare a little while before heading over to the rehearsal I have another surprise for you."

"Oh mom you've already given me and Chase so much."

"I know but you only get married once and trust me you'll love this surprise."

"Okay."

"Okay. Let's head over to the house first." She said as they got in their car and started driving to the house. Once they got there they pulled into the driveway and stepped out of the car. Unbeknownst to Skye, Rebecca trailed behind until they got in the front door. Opening the door Skye was then met with a big 'Surprise' from a big crowd there. Completely surprised Skye then walked in as everyone was cheering.

"No way. You're all here." She said as she started hugging everyone.

"Of course. You're getting married tomorrow and we wouldn't want to miss it." Skye's sister Jenny said as Skye's nephew GG ran up to her as she picked him up.

"Hey GG how have you been?"

"I have been good, Aunt Skye."

"That's good. So are all y'all here for the wedding."

"Yes some of us might stay a little longer but pretty much yes."

"Okay this has got to be one of the best surprises yet." Skye said as they continued talking for a while. After about an hour of talking Skye then realized something. "Wait mom, what time is it?"

"It's literally almost time for the rehearsal."

"Wait what?"

"Yep. So we need to get going now."

"Okay. Well let's get going." She said as they all got into their cars with Jenny and GG riding with Skye and Rebecca. While they were heading to the church Skye then got a call. "Hello?" She said answering it.

"Hey baby. It's me. Are you coming?"

"Yeah sorry Chase I got distracted talking with some of my family members and I completely lost track of time. But we're on the way."

"Okay. Nothing like being late to your own wedding rehearsal." He joked.

"Hey at least it is better than being late to the actual wedding." She countered as he laughed.

"True. Okay I'll see you soon."

"Okay. Love you."

"Love you too. Bye."

"Bye." She said as she hung up the call. A couple minutes later they pulled into the parking lot and into a parking space as they saw Chase walking towards them. Opening Skye's door he helped her out before they gave each other a hug. "I'm here."

"I see that. Did you have fun today?"

"Yeah but it is always wonderful to see you at the end of the day."

"Yep. Ready to go in?"

"Yeah." She said as they walked in together.

"Hey look who I found." Chase said jokingly as they walked in.

"There you are." Ryder said.

"Yes, here I am. Let's get started."

"Okay everyone get in your places." Ryder said as they started rehearsing. Soon after they got everything ready to go. After they were done they then headed to the rehearsal dinner. After getting their food Chase and Skye then sat in their seats as everyone started eating.

"So I'm guessing you'll be staying at your parents house for tonight." Chase said to Skye while they were eating.

"Yeah so I'll most likely see you at the ceremony tomorrow."

"That's okay." A little while later they had finished eating as they decided to walk around outside for a little while just enjoying the night and each other's company.

"Wow nothing like a walk through the cool evening breeze to clear your mind from all the craziness."

"Yeah, but hey all this craziness is getting us closer to being married."

"I know, I can't wait."

"Me neither." About half an hour later, Skye was getting ready to head back to her parents house to stay the night as she and Chase were standing by the car saying goodbye to each other. Hugging each other they talked one last time.

"See you tomorrow?"

"You know it. And it will be even more worthwhile because the first time I will see you is when you are walking down to me during the ceremony." He said as she smiled.

"Yeah I can't wait for you to see my dress."

"And I am absolutely positive that you are going to look so beautiful." He said as she giggled.

"Yeah. Anyway I need to get going. So I will see you tomorrow."

"Okay I love you."

"I love you too. Goodnight."

"Goodnight." He said as they broke apart and he helped her into the car as they then pulled away and a little while later the others went back to the Lookout.

The next day Skye woke up to someone shaking her and calling her name. Opening her eyes she saw GG standing there.

"Hey there GG what can I do for you?" She asked, sitting up.

"Nothing much. Grandma just told me to come wake you up."

"Okay. Who's making breakfast?"

"Grandma is. That is why she wanted me to wake you up."

"Okay tell her I'll be down there in a minute."

"Okay I will." GG said as he left the room and headed down stairs. Upon entering the kitchen he sat down at the table while watching Rebecca making breakfast.

"Hey grandma, is breakfast almost ready?"

"Just about. Is Auntie Skye awake yet?"

"Yes she is. She told me to tell you that she will be down in a minute."

"Okay. Here is your breakfast." She said, handing him some pancakes.

"Yum. Thanks grandma."

"You're welcome." She said as he started eating as Skye also came into the kitchen.

"Hey mom. What's for breakfast?"

"And here is the girl of the day." Rebecca said, smiling. "Pancakes are on the menu today."

"Nice." Skye said as she started eating.

"Are you ready for today?"

"I've been ready for this day from the very beginning."

"I bet. After breakfast we'll get ready and then go over to the church to start getting ready for the wedding."

"Cool. Where's Jenny?"

"Uh. I think she is in the back, she will be coming down in a little while."

"Okay."

A couple minutes later Jenny came in. The moment she saw Skye there she immediately ran over and gave her a big hug.

"Oh I am so excited that you are finally getting married." She said excitedly as Skye smiled.

"Me too. Now I'll be able to experience the same thing as you."

"Yep. But it is different with every couple. But I know that you and Chase are perfect for each other."

"Thanks. I definitely do love Chase with all my heart and I can't wait to finally get married to him."

"I'm sure. Well let's get packed up and head on over to the church." Rebecca said as she finished drying and putting away the last of the breakfast dishes.

"Okay." Skye said as they got everything then headed out.

Over at the Lookout Ryder and Katie were eating their breakfast when Chase walked into the Lookout.

"Hey Chase, ready for today?" Ryder asked.

"Yep. Ready as I'll ever be."

"Well you are going to be great." Katie said.

"Thanks Katie."

"No problem."

"So when do you think we should arrive at the church to get ready and all?" Ryder asked.

"Well the ceremony starts at two as everyone knows but before that we need to take pictures and that starts at twelve so if we arrive by ten we should be able to get everyone ready and pictures taken." Chase explained.

"Sounds like a plan." Ryder said as they finished their breakfast.

Soon after they left they reached the church. Entering into it they started walking down a hallway when Jenny turned to look at GG.

"GG can I trust you to stay in the lobby and when the others come tell Katie and the girls that they can come to the room at the end of the hall?"

You can count on me."

"Good." She said as she turned and started walking down with the rest as GG walked the opposite way to go to the lobby. Reaching the end of the hallway the girls entered into it then started getting things set up. A couple minutes later Katie walked in.

"Okay I am here." She said setting a couple boxes and bags on the table in the room.

"Hey Katie." Skye said.

"Hi Skye. Let me get the bath started then I can take you first."

"Okay." A couple minutes later Katie came back in from the back.

"Okay Skye I am ready."

"Okay I'm coming." Skye said as she hopped down from the chair that she was in and then headed to the back with Katie. Hopping in the bath Katie got started as they talked.

"So are you ready to finally get married."

"Oh I am so ready. I could hardly fall asleep last night cause I was so excited but a little nervous at the same time. Like is something going to go wrong or not? Stuff like that." Skye laughed a little.

"Yep, pre wedding jitters happens all the time. I'm pretty sure Chase has the same nerves."

"Really. I haven't seen him since yesterday."

"Yep. I talked to him earlier and he seemed to be nervous as well."

"Wow. I really want to see him but we both decided that we wanted to wait til the ceremony to see each other."

"That is a good idea because then it is worth the wait."

"Yep but it is also a real struggle but we can make it."

"Yep. Alrighty you are done you can go get ready and send the next one in."

"Okie dokie." She said as she left the room.

In a room on the other side of the church Chase and the other guys were in there getting ready. As they were getting ready Derrick came into the room carrying a bag full of stuff.

"Okay Chase I got them." He said, setting the bag down on a chair.

"What is in there?" Rubble asked.

"Well as you all know I am allergic to flowers and Skye didn't really want rose petals falling down on us and so I was trying to figure out what to do instead and Derrick here was walking around the store a few weeks ago and he told me about these things that he saw and they were confetti shooters so I told him to get a couple and we tested them out and we decided that because they shoot out so much confetti that that could be perfect so I sent him today to go get some more."

"And we're going to have a few people who are spread out from each other, one on each side close to the front to have one of these, and when it is time, to shoot these while aiming at Chase and Skye." Derrick said.

"Nice." The other Paw Patrol boys said.

"Yep. Now let's finish getting ready and go get done with the pictures." Chase said.

Entering into the other room she saw everyone getting ready but did not notice someone behind her. While she was standing there she suddenly felt a tap on her shoulder. Turning around she saw her very best friend standing there and smiling. Upon seeing her she got excited.

"Amy! Oh I am so excited that you're here." She said giving Amy a hug.

"You better know that I am not going to miss my best friend's wedding especially if I am the maid of honor."

"True. Oh who wants to get a bath next. Katie is ready for the next one to go."

"I'll go so that Amy can do your make-up." Maddy said as she walked to where Katie was

"Oh right you promised that you would do my make-up."

"Yep. Go ahead and sit down over there and I'll get my stuff."

"Okay." She said as she sat down in a chair waiting for Amy to come back. Upon seeing her mom she decided to ask her something. "Hey mom."

"Yeah Skye."

"I was wondering, were you this nervous right before you and dad got married?"

"Oh I was very nervous. It happens to everybody."

"Oh okay. Thanks."

"No problem." Soon Amy came back in.

"Okay Skye let's get started."

"Okay." Skye said as Amy started doing her make-up.

Back over where the boys were they had just gotten their pictures done and they were waiting for the time to go and get in their places when Chase had a thought. Pulling Derrick to a spot where the others couldn't hear them he asked Derrick the question.

"Hey Derrick, is there any possible way that Skye and I could meet up before the ceremony even if we have to be blindfolded just so that we could talk with each other for a couple minutes."

"Well I have seen pictures where the bride and groom meet up and are on either side of a door or something and they get pictures done together even though they can't see each other and sometimes they even pray together."

"Hmm, that could work. Could you possibly get the word to someone to have Skye come to somewhere where we could do that."

"Sure. I can see what I can do and I will come back with a blindfold or something."

"Okay thanks Derrick. I owe you one."

"Hey I am your brother so you deserve it."

"But still thanks."

"Don't mention it. This is your day, enjoy it." Derrick said as he left to go find someone who could help.

"So Skye." Amy said while still doing Skye's make-up.

"Yeah."

"Where are you and Chase going for your honeymoon?"

"To be honest I don't know where we are going."

"Really?!"

"Yep. I mean we talked about a couple places that we both would like to go visit but other than that I have been completely in the dark. But that's all right. I don't mind being surprised."

"Nice. Are you excited about the honeymoon?"

"I am so excited. I honestly can't wait."

"I bet. Well you're make-up is done. I believe that you can go get dressed then we can go get pictures." Amy said as she put down the make-up tools.

"Yay!" She said as she hopped down then headed to the back again where Katie was to help her get her dress on. While she was in the back they heard a knock on the door. Walking over to the door Rebecca peeked outside and saw Marcus there. Opening it Marcus came in.

"Am I in the right place?"

"You are, if you are here to see Skye."

"Yep."

"Then yes. She is right now getting in her dress."

"Okay. Do you think there is any chance that she would change her mind about this?" Marcus asked her quietly.

"Actually I don't think that she is at this point. She is really excited so I would just be happy for her."

"Okay." At that moment the door to the room Skye was in opened up and Katie walked out.

"Are you guys ready to see her?" She asked.

"Uh yeah." They all said as Skye then walked out with her dress on. The moment they all saw her they were super impressed. "Woah."

"You look so beautiful." Deborah said.

"Thanks." Skye said.

"Okay let's all head on to get the pictures done." Rebecca said as they all started heading out but Skye and Marcus stayed behind.

"Hey dad, what do you think?" She asked seeing him speechless.

"Oh um you look so beautiful." He said, really meaning it.

"Thank you dad."

"You're welcome. Though you can still change your mind and we will take you again." He said jokingly as she smiled and shook her head.

"Mm mm."

"Figures. But we still love you."

"I know. Is it time to go out yet?"

"Almost."

"Okay." At that moment Harmonie came into the room.

"Hey Skye, your presence has been requested but I will need to put this blindfold on you." She said putting the blindfold on Skye.

"Oh really, who is requesting me?"

"Someone who loves you very much but also doesn't want to see you just yet." She said as Skye immediately knew who it was as Harmonie led her to the spot. After a bit of walking they came to the place. "Okay Skye I need you to stand right here. Chase is on the other side of this door and I am going to take off the blindfold but I need you to not peek on the other side. Same with you Chase."

"Okay." They both said as their blindfolds were taken off. Once they were off they wasted no time in holding each other's paws while the others were still in eyesight range but were far enough away that they couldn't totally hear what they were talking about.

"Hey honey" Chase said.

"Hi. I have been dying to see you all day."

"I know. I have been the same way. I can't wait to finally be married to you."

"Me too. I have been waiting for this day for a long time."

"Same. Unfortunately I think it is time for us to go back to where we need to be. I love you."

"I love you too. See you soon."

"See ya." Chase said as they let go of each other and then were escorted to where they needed to be.

After the pictures were done and Chase and Skye were done with their moment the ceremony was about to start so everyone started to line up outside the auditorium.

"Okay everybody listen up. When we get outside the auditorium we need to be very quiet because they can hear us from in there." Becca the coordinator said as everyone then headed to the back to wait for their turn to enter and walk down to the front.

As they were standing there the music then started up. Getting in their places they waited for their turn. While waiting they then noticed Skye and Marcus walking their way. Seeing her coming Jenny smiled then mouthed,

"I love you. Forever."

"Skye, he looks really handsome. Take my word for it." Harmonie said quietly which made Skye smile and get more and more excited.

Lining up with the others they then watched as the others walked down. When the time came Chase and Ryder walked up onto the stage and watched as the rest of the bridesmaids and groomsmen walked down. Once they all were lined up on the stage the music then changed to the next song as everyone in the audience stood up as the doors in the back opened up and Chase watched as Skye and Marcus walked down. As she was walking towards the front Skye couldn't help but feel excited a little but also shed a couple tears which were not at all noticeable to anyone. Stopping right at the front they waited til the music ended before the minister got up and started talking.

"Who gives this girl to this man?"

"Her mother and I." Marcus said as he handed Skye to Chase and they walked up onto the stage and got in their places.

"We are gathered here today in the sight of God, and the presence of friends and loved ones, to celebrate one of life's greatest moments. We are here to give recognition to the beauty of love that is shared between Chase Fern and Skyella Moore as they complete their family in holy matrimony. Marriage is a contract not to be entered into lightly but thoughtfully and seriously and with a deep realization of the obligations and responsibilities. Marriage is the moment where your hearts and souls are joined together for eternity. Let us take this moment and begin with a word of prayer." He said as everyone closed their eyes for the prayer.

"Our heavenly Father, we thank you for allowing us to share in the love and joy of these two wonderful people and their families. We pray that you bless them and keep them in your protective care. We thank you and praise you in your Sons name. Amen."

"As we continue on I would like to continue by saying that this marriage is a commitment like none other and I would like to say that you should treat each other like something fragile that you wouldn't want to break. Love and cherish each other unto the moment when life takes its turn and you have separate. And Chase and Skye as your journey begins as husband and wife, I would ask you both to remember to always treat each other with respect, and remind yourselves often of what brought you here today."

"Now as you two face each other will you take each others hands and repeat after me. I, Chase Fern."

"I, Chase Fern."

"Before God and these witnesses."

"Do take thee, Skyella Moore."

"To be my lawful wedded wife."

"For better or for worse."

"In sickness and in health."

"Forsaking all others."

"Till death do we part."

"Till death do we part." Chase finished as the minister then turned to Skye.

"Now Skye, please repeat after me. I, Skyella Moore."

"I, Skyella Moore." She repeated.

"Do take thee, Chase Fern."

"To be my lawfully wedded husband."

"For better or for worse."

"In sickness and in health."

"Forsaking all others."

"Till death do we part."

"Till death do we part." She finished softly due to her soft crying but where not many people could hear.

"She said it." Chase said.

"She said it in case you didn't hear." He said as the audience laughed.

After that a song started playing as Marcus, Rebecca, John and Christine joined Chase and Skye up on the stage by the sand combining. After the parents poured their sand in Chase and Skye walked up and combined the two together. As soon as they were done with that they joined together in a group and prayed with each other. When they were done with that the four went back to their seats as Chase and Skye got back in their places as the music ended and the minister stepped forward again.

"Now as you declared your vows to each other and poured the sand representing your union and love forever to each other, may you both remember from this day on that you are each others forever and nothing can break that. Now as the time has come I now pronounce you husband and wife. Chase, you may kiss your bride." He finished as Chase and Skye looked at each other then slowly leaned in and shared their first kiss as the people with the confetti cannons shot them as the audience cheered. When the cheering died down the minister stepped forward once more and said, "Thank you all for coming here and now it is my greatest privilege to present to you for the very first time Mr. and Mrs. Chase Fern." He said as the two walked back up the aisle as more cheering came.

"Wow. That sounded like that was the best day of your life." Luke said after Skye finished the story.

"It was. But I didn't expect that when we said 'til death do we part' that it would be a month later that that would happen." Skye said sadly.

"I know but you made it through and you will be able to keep going."

"Thanks Luke."

"You're welcome. Now what about your nephew GG what happened to him? I haven't seen him yet."

"That is another long story."

"Care to share. I don't have anything planned."

Well here is the next chapter. Now here is where I am going to get slow in writing again because these past few chapters I have already written I just needed to get it edited right but here we are starting at another standstill. I am going to try to not take a long time to upload the next chapter but with how crazy my life is I don't know how well I am going to stick to that. But what did you guys think?
