Preface: Hello, again! Man, it's been over a month, hasn't it! So sorry for the wait - I intended to finish this by the end of summer, but I guess that's not happening anymore. But at least this chapter's theme is perfect for this time of year. I do have a proper Halloween special planned out, but it's not gonna be Bluey-themed. Also, fun fact: I'm typing this on a brand new computer! My old one's so slow! One last thing, to the person who left a comment here recently: I don't plan on covering the topic of cancer in any Bluey-related stories, unfortunately. But if you have a good idea, I say try making it! With all that said, on with the chapter!
This fanfiction of Bluey is called:
"Beach Doggies"
reviously...after Chloe and Indy left for their vacation to Hawaii, Bluey and Rusty agreed to have a beach day of their own. Joined by Bluey's sister Bingo and Honey, they had a sandcastle-building contest while waiting for their dinner.
Now...they sit around a bonfire as the day winds down...
Roll Call

Chapter 4:
Spooky Stories
[Party Selected: Bluey, Bingo, Rusty, Honey]
[Current World: Bonegea]
[Current Location: Brisbane, Unknown Beach]
[BGM: Asu01 - A French Friend]
The sun had set on Australia, leaving it in darkness. While the other half of the world was either just starting their day or continuing it, the half where Australia was located was beginning to wind down. In fact, that's what Bluey, Rusty, and Honey's parents had done while the kids remained at the still-burning bonfire.
Bluey gave a satisfied sigh as the warmth of the fire washed over her. "Making sand castles was fun, but I like sitting here around the fire," she said.
"Fires are my favorite part of camping," said Bingo. "It's so pretty, and we can make yummy s'mores!"
Rusty tapped his chin in thought. "You know what else we can do around a bonfire?" he asked. The others shook their heads and said "What?" in response. Rusty grabbed a flashlight and turned it on under his face. "Tell spooky stories!" he said in a spooky voice.
"Oooo!" said Honey, her tail wagging. "I've never done that before!"
Rusty nodded. "My dad did this as a kid. Whoever's holding the torch can tell a story. Who wants to go first?"
"Oh! Me!" said Bingo, raising her hand. Rusty handed Bingo the flashlight and Bingo made a devious face. "This is a scary story called…Dance Mode!"
(For you readers' sake, the characters' narration will be italicized.)
Bingo's Story:
Dance Mode
Once upon a time, an ordinary family was having lunch. When the youngest one dropped her crayon, her dad ate her last chip! The youngest was so hungry and devastated, she didn't want to accept her dad's apology. So her older sister came up with a way to get back at the meanie parents…
"Wait a minute!" Bluey suddenly said, interrupting Bingo's story. "Bingo, this is just one of our episodes! We did this a year ago!"
"Oh, yeah!" Bingo giggled. "Uh…here, Honey, you go while I think."
"Really? Okay…" Honey thought for a moment. "Oh! I've got a good story…"
Honey's Story:
The Haunted Creek
[BGM: Joff Bush - The Creek]
One ordinary day, two young friends were playing at the creek. In this case, the kids are Bluey and Mackenzie. They had a lot of fun, skipping stones and making dams.
As Honey narrated, the heeler and border collie played around in the water, splashing each other and toying with the rocks, giggling as they did. Suddenly, a strange noise was heard…
"Um…Mackenzie?" Bluey said in the story. "Did you hear that?"
Mackenzie's ears perked up. "That weird voice going 'Oooooo'?" he repeated. Bluey nodded. Suddenly, Mackenzie's expression changed to show his newfound worry. "Oh, no!"
"What's wrong?" Bluey asked. The border collie explained his plight to his friend - he knew that this creek was haunted! "Haunted?" Bluey repeated. Yes, haunted! And the ghosts only show up when the moon can be fully seen.
Mackenzie looked up and gasped. "And the moon can be fully seen!" he said, pointing up. Sure enough, a full moon was in the sky. Anxiously, the two looked down at the pond and watched in horror as it changed from a murky brown to a chilling white. Looking around, the two watched as ghosts began to rise from the waters.
"Oooooo…" the ghosts said, waving their hands. Due to Honey's limited imagination, they simply used the likenesses of the kids' parents and grandparents. "Weeeee are the ghooooosts of the creeeeeeek…" said the ghost that used Bandit's likeness.
"If yooooou do not leeeeeaaaave and never come baaaaack on a fuuuuul moooooon," continued the ghost using Grandpa Bob's likeness, "yoooooou shall become ghoooooosts yourseeeeeeeelf!"
"Mackenzie, what do we do?" asked Bluey, fearfully.
"RUUUUUN!" shouted Mackenzie. He grabbed Bluey's hand and dashed out of the creek. And the two kids never played at the creek after night again.
[BGM: End]
"The end…" said Honey, finishing her story. She turned off the flashlight and put it down. "So, was that spooky enough?"
Bluey and Rusty looked at each other before shrugging. "Nah, I wasn't scared," said Bluey.
"Oh, well," Honey said. "Do you want another go, Bingo?"
"Ooo! Yes, please!" said Bingo, taking the flashlight. "This is a super-spooky story called…Asparagus!"
Bingo's Story:
Asparagus
One ordinary night, a family was eating dinner, and the oldest daughter wasn't minding her manners…
"Arrrgh, Bingo!" Bluey groaned. "This is something else we've already done!"
"Oh, right," said Bingo, a little more upset than before. "You can go, Rusty."
As he reached for the flashlight, Rusty noticed how sad Bingo looked. "Don't be sad, Bingo," he said. "I'm sure you'll find something to really scare us!" He sat back down and turned on the flashlight. "Anyway, this is the spooky story of the werewolf's curse!"
Rusty's Story:
The Werewolf's Curse
[BGM: Asu01 - Quest for a Companion]
One night, two young friends were hiking in the woods… In this story, the friends were Bluey and Rusty, marching through a forest. "What a nice night for a hike," Rusty said in his story, looking around.
"Yeah, it is," Bluey agreed. "It's so peaceful…" Suddenly, they came across a strange-looking clearing. The strange-looking clearing was a large circle in the middle of the forest with rocks surrounding it. "Wow, have you ever seen anything like this, Rusty?" Bluey asked, walking into the circle of rocks.
"Um, Bluey? I don't think we should be mucking with this," said Rusty, concerned.
[BGM: Joff Bush - Magic BGM]
"Oh, what's the worst that could happen?" Bluey asked, brushing off his concern. Her question was answered, however, when the clouds suddenly revealed a full moon, which shone its light down on the circle of rocks. Suddenly, the girl began to feel odd sensations… Said odd sensations were that of Bluey's limbs suddenly growing. "R-Rusty?" she said, fear growing in her voice. "What's happening?"
"Oh, no!" cried Rusty. "It's the werewolf's curse!"
"Werewolf?" cried Bluey. Tears of fear filled her eyes as her fur took on a grayish tint and fangs sprouted from her teeth. Suddenly, her eyes turned red, she got down on all fours, and uncontrollably howled into the night. And so, the young girl had received the werewolf's curse.
"I knew we shouldn't have messed with this circle!" said Rusty. He suddenly saw Bluey, having fully turned, staring him down. Her conscious mind had checked out. "B-Bluey? Can you hear me?" Rusty said, fearfully. But the girl couldn't hear her friend. And so…she lunged at him and devoured him whole!
"And when the full moon passed and the girl returned to normal, she was so filled with guilt that she never left the woods again," Rusty finished his story. "The end."
[BGM: End]
"Woah…" said Bluey, impressed. "Now that was scary!"
"Yeah! I'm not sure I'm going to sleep tonight," said Honey, giggling. She looked over and saw Bingo sulking. "Oh, but I think it was too scary for Bingo."
"No, it wasn't," Bingo answered. "I'm just sad I can't scare you…"
"Bingo, you don't have to tell us a spooky story," said Rusty. "We're having fun telling ourselves stories."
Just then, Bingo got an idea on how to finally scare them once and for all. "Actually, I have an idea," she said, taking the flashlight. "This story will really scare you!"
Bingo's Story:
The Magic Xylophone
"BINGO!" the three kids shouted before Bingo could even tell her story.
"Oh, I knew it," Bingo sighed. "Oh, well. I'm kinda sleepy anyway. Good night." With that, she got up from the campfire and made her way over to the tent.
"Aw, poor Bingo," said Bluey, feeling sorry for her sister. "I think tomorrow, we should let her tell one more story."
"Yeah, I think so, too," said Rusty. "But it's your turn, Bluey, if you want it."
Bluey eyed the flashlight. "Actually, I have an idea that will really, really scare you!" she said. She put the flashlight to her chin and turned it on. "This is the story of the stone of age!"
Bluey's Story:
The Stone of Age
[BGM: Asu01 - Comrades Together]
Once upon a time there was a young girl who was exploring a cave with her family. Bluey's story began in the aforementioned cave, with both the main Heeler family and her cousin Muffin's family exploring. The kids looked at the various crystals and jewels embedded in the rock face with awe.
"Alright, remember, we can't touch," said Bandit, "only look."
"Got it, Dad," Bluey said, half-listening. She, Bingo, Muffin, and Socks had already begun to wander around, looking back and forth at the various jewels.
"Hey, what's this?" said Muffin, pointing to a strange green jewel. The kids were all amazed by it. "It's so pweeetyyy…"
The young girl didn't listen to her parents and reached out for the stone. She was able to pull it out of the wall and handed it to her little cousin. Socks took the jewel from Bluey's hands. "Ooo, pwetty stone…" she said, amazed. Suddenly, the jewel started to glow green, the glow spreading across Socks' body. "Huh?"
"Um, Bluey?" Bingo said, nervously. "I don't think that's normal." The girl's sister was right - it wasn't normal. And they then saw why the cousin was suddenly glowing.
Just then, Socks started to age at a rapid rate. Her legs grew, as did her body and snout. Her quivering voice became deeper and deeper. "B-Bluey?" she said, scared. "What's happening?"
"Uh…calm down," Bluey said, trying to soothe her now-older cousin.
"Cawm down? How can Socks cawm down?" shouted Muffin, freaking out. "MUUUUUUUUM!"
Hurriedly, the grownups rushed over. "What the heck?" cried Chilli, seeing what happened to Socks. "What happened?"
"Uh…Bluey…she…" Bingo stammered.
"Socks…gwabbed…gwew…" continued Muffin.
"How do we get her to be a baby again?" cried Bluey.
"This is why I said not to touch anything," said Bandit, disappointed in Bluey. He walked over and took the jewel from Socks' hands. "Now, this thing, how do you get it working?" He began to turn it around in his hands.
"Nah, that's not what to do," said Uncle Stripe, shaking his head. He reached over to grab the jewel, but Bandit kept his grip. "Hey! Gimme!"
"You don't know what you're doing!" Bandit argued, trying to pull the jewel back. Suddenly, it began to glow once more, with the glow spreading to their bodies. Their bodies began to deage, becoming younger and younger until they were ten years old again. "Oh, biscuits, now look what you've done!" cried Bandit.
"What I've done?" said Stripe, offended. "This was your fault."
The girl was overwhelmed. This was all her fault. One by one, her family members began to become younger or older, no member left behind. Until she was the only young kid left.
[BGM: End]
"And so, she was forced to spend the rest of her life with her sister and cousins raising her and their parents. The end." Bluey pulled the flashlight away from her chin with a devious face. "So, how was that?"
"Gee, that was…actually scary!" cried Rusty. "I wouldn't want that to happen to me! Good job, Bluey!"
Bluey smiled. "Thank you very much!" she said, but then noticed that Honey looked concerned. "What's wrong, Honey?"
"How long has that bunny been there?" the beagle responded. Bluey looked to her left and saw a familiar pink stuffed rabbit. She knew that rabbit all too well.
[BGM: Asu01 - Rondo Alla Turca]
"Floppy?" said Bluey. "Did Bingo leave you h-?" Her thought was cut off by the sight of Floppy's face being covered in red splotches. "AHHHHH!"
"You should not have stopped me while I was telling my stories…" the kids suddenly heard a new voice say.
"B-Bingo?" said Rusty, grabbing the flashlight. "W-Where are you?"
"Over here…" Bingo responded. Anxiously, Rusty pointed the flashlight in the way of the silhouette that suddenly appeared, and… "BOOO!"
"AHHHHHHH!" Bluey, Rusty, and Honey all ran into their tents, terrified. And as they did, Bingo started giggling.
"We did it, Floppy! We scared them!" she happily said, licking the strawberry jelly off of her stuffy's face. "Oh! We should stop this fire!" She picked up the heavy water bucket and spilt it onto the fire, putting it out. "There we go!" As she climbed into the tent, she noticed that Bluey was curled up, terrified. "Bluey?" said Bingo. "Were you really scared?"
Bluey opened an eye. "Yes…"
Bingo crawled inside the tent and curled up next to her. "I'm sorry. I thought it would be funny."
"It's okay," Bluey responded. "It was a good scare. I'm sorry I didn't let you tell your stories."
"That's okay," said Bingo. With that, the two sisters hugged each other and curled up to enjoy more pleasant stories in their dreams…though Rusty and Honey needed a bit of consoling.
To be concluded...and next time: a finale with Chloe and Indy!
Next chapter: There's only one way to conclude a vacation in Hawaii, and that's with a "Luau"! While Indy's just excited to be part of one, Chloe wants to ask a certain someone to dance with her...
Postface: Chapter complete! What better way to tie-in with Halloween with the three-scary-stories-in-one format that The Simpsons popularized? Also, if my writing quality seemed a little worse this chapter, I have a lot going on in my life right now, and I haven't really written anything in a while. So that might be why. Or maybe it's the ssame as it's always been and I'm just imagining things. But I digress.
Trivia time! Bingo's conflict in this chapter was thought up from the start, but I had a bit of trouble executing it. Eventually, i decided to borrow from the Amphibia Halloween special "The Shut-In!" and have all of her stories be retellings of existing Bluey episodes, before she finds a way to really scare the others. As for the other kids' stories, while Honey's takes obvious inspiration from The Creek (with Mackenzie also making a quick cameo), the other two stories are loosely based on two pieces of fanart I've seen on twitter. One of them has Socks suddenly become a grownup after Bluey gives her a stone she found on a field trip (do schools in Australia do field trips, or Waldorf schools for that matter?), while the other is an AU where Bluey somehow becomes a werewolf. As for Grandpa Bob making a brief appearance as a ghost, that's a reference to how his mysterious disappearance has caused everyone to think he's dead. For the record, he's been confirmed to be alive, at least for now...
That should be it! Please read, review, and share around, and I'll see you all next time for the big luau finale! Stay diamond, everyone!
