Sophia had been planning this meal for weeks, ever since her father had come over for pizza night. She'd spoken to Fin to make sure he could keep his mother off from work and he had laughed and thanked her for banging their heads together. Her call to her dad's boss had gone pretty much the same and she felt confident she had them both free on the same night which in their house wasn't a common occurrence.
She'd made plans with them both, offering to try out a new meal she'd learnt in her home cookery class in school. She was trying to keep everything as close to the truth as possible and so she was actually going to cook for them. Sadly she had her mothers cooking skills but as long as she had them in the same room together that's all she needed.
She'd told them both to make an effort, that the whole ambiance of the night needed to be sophisticated and while they'd both given her a strange look they'd both agreed.
Lucas was busy setting up the dining table for them under his sister's very strict instructions. He didn't know why she was putting this much effort to trick them as if it wouldn't be clear when they saw two plates. His parents were both way too stubborn to sit down and do as they're told even if it was by Sophia.
"You done over there yet?" She calls from the kitchen and he rolls his eyes.
"Just perfecting it as you commanded."
"Good because I'm almost done. It's time."
Lucas walks back to the kitchen and leans against the counter as Sophia takes out her phone and texts their father.
"There." She placed her phone down on the counter and started to stir the sauce again. "He should be over in five."
"Just like that?"
"I made it sound like it was the plan all along. He's old, he won't questions forgetting it."
Lucas laughs and looks towards the stairs.
"What about mom?"
"She can't stay up there forever."

Olivia realises she might have gone a bit over the top as she looks at herself in the mirror. It was only a meal with the kids in her house and even though Sophia had told her to dress up she probably didn't mean this much but this is the first time since her boring date that she'd got the opportunity to and she had run with it.
She missed dates. She missed sitting opposite someone and feeling their eyes on you as you try to eat. Knowing the only thing they want their mouths on is your body. Especially when that person was Elliot. So she reasoned that now she had to dress up and look pretty for herself. Wear dresses around the house to feel good on the knowledge that if a man was to see her he'd want to rip it off.

Elliot could have sworn that Sophia hadn't mentioned this meal being at her house. Where was Liv? Had she agreed to him being over there? He didn't want to intrude and he hopes Sophia had cleared it with her first. He didn't want her to walk in to find him sitting there and kick him out.
He can see Olivia's car in the driveway as he walks over and he's even more confused. He tries to hold back the jealousy wondering if somebody else had picked her up for a date and how he'd have to deal with seeing her again dressed up in an outfit knowing the effect it would have on him. Remembering how every time he used to see her dressed up for a date he'd return home and lock himself in the bathroom away from his first wife.
Lucas opens the door and lets him in. He can see Sophia cooking away in the kitchen and instinctively he looks around.
"Your mother ok with this?"
Olivia had heard the knock on the door and was at the top of the stairs when she heard Elliot's voice and her heart skipped a beat. Ok with what? What was he doing here?
"Well it's a bit of a surprise actually." She hears Sophia say from the kitchen.
"A surprise?"
"Well I know you're both overworked. I thought I could do something nice for you both."
"And you thought spending the night with an ex was a nice thing?"
Nobody had noticed Olivia walk down the stairs and suddenly three sets of eyes were on her.
Elliot gulped seeing her standing there in a black dress that made his mouth water. Her hair was flicked behind her and the dress was off the shoulder that exposed all of her most sensitive areas that he knew she loved to be kissed.
"Well.." he heard Sophia start but he couldn't concentrate on the rest of her sentence as his eyes finish looking over Olivia's body. It was just tight enough that he could see the full outline of her body that he didn't get to see often enough with those damn clothes she wore to work now. It stopped just below her knees and then his eyes trailed back up to her face. Her lips were dark along with her eyes but it was his favourite look on her. She had in a pair of hoop earrings that always reminded him of the days when they had got together and his body can't help but react to the sight in front of him.
Olivia can feel his eyes on her as she speaks to the kids and she flicks her head back a little more allowing him a better view. She wants to look at him but she pretends to be oblivious even though she is sure she must be blushing by now.
"So?"
She realises she'd stopped listening to Sophia as she pictured Elliot's imaginary hands on her.
"So what?"
"Are you two going to sit down for the meal I slaved over all day?"
Olivia turns to Elliot who's still staring at her like he wants to ravish her on the stairs and she raises an eyebrow at him. Eventually he realises everyone is staring at him and clears his throat.
"Yes. I mean if you want."
She can feel everyone's eyes on her again and doesn't want to look like the bad guy so she shrugs.
"Fine."
Elliot tries to hold back a grin unlike Sophia who claps excitedly. Lucas follows her back into the kitchen leaving his parents standing in the hallway.
"You look…" he doesn't want to put her off by telling her what he thinks as his eyes flick over her once more. "Good."
"Just good?" She can't help but tease as she walks down the last few steps and stands in front of him. She'd not had time to put on her heels before leaving her bedroom having been distracted by the knock at the door and she had to look up to him.
"Amazing." He confirms and she smirks.
"Don't look too shabby yourself Stabler."
It's her time to let her eyes roam him as he stands in front of her with his black shirt with rolled up sleeves that show off all the muscles that drive her crazy.
When she looks back at her face he's grinning cockily and they look at each other for a moment, both of them too scared to speak and say the wrong thing. Thankfully Lucas is the one to break the moment for them.
"Sophia said to come through."
Elliot opens his arm for Olivia to walk first in a gentlemanly fashion but when his eyes fall to her ass he had to admit he is an ulterior motive.
"There's only two plates." He hears from in front of him and he rips his eyes from her lower half to the table where he can see a romantic dinner setting for two with candles and a rose in the middle. He looks over to Sophia who is purposely busying herself dishing up and leaving Lucas to deal with Olivia.
"It's a meal for two." He answers dryly and Olivia rolls her eyes.
"What are you two trying to do here?"
"It's a school project. Can't tell you anymore, it'll ruin the results." Sophia says bringing the two plates over and placing them down. "So please sit before the food is cold."
She keeps her eyes down avoiding looking at either of them before she shuffles back to the kitchen and Elliot laughs. Olivia spins around and glares at him and he shrugs.
"You can't let the poor girl down after this much effort to parent trap us."
"Parent trap?"
"You know. Like the movie."
Olivia rolls her eyes and turns to watch Sophia in the kitchen.
"Tell me he's not right."
Sophia pretends not to hear so Lucas tries to get his mother to take a seat by pulling hers out and waving a hand.
"Madam."
Olivia rolls her eyes again but when she doesn't move Elliot walks around her and takes Lucus' place holding the back of her chair.
"You can have one meal with me can't you Liv? For old times sake."
She isn't sure she could. The way he looked tonight she has a raging appetite and it wasn't for the food in front of her. What sort of mess could they end up in if they were left alone? The problem was she couldn't tell him or her kids that she didn't trust herself not to be on her back before dessert and so she takes a step forward and sits in the seat and he grins up at the kids who both sigh in relief.
"Dessert is in the fridge for you. I couldn't get you any wine so…" Sophia appears over Olivia's shoulder with two wine glasses full of beer that Elliot had left here the other week and she laughs. "I had to improvise."
"A juice would have done the job."
Sophia shrugs and stands back to admire her handywork.
"I think it's a very on point compromise for the both of you."
Elliot can't argue with that. He picks up his glass and holds it out to Olivia with a grin on his face and eventually she picks up her glass and clinks it with his.
"Well don't let us keep you any longer. I don't want your food going cold. We'll be next door love you bye."
Sophia and Lucas scurry out the door laughing before Olivia can tell them to get back and she huffs as she turns back to Elliot to see him still watching her.
"Relax liv. What's the worst that could happen?"
