"Me?" Sigrid asks in an abnormally high voice whilst nervously pinching the fabric of her dress with one hand, her other hand still hovering near her chest.

"Who else would be in my room?" Jeremy deadpans, which he immediately regrets upon seeing the color drain even further from the girl's face, if possible. He couldn't exactly guess her age, she could be his age, but he could be mistaken of course.

"I don't know-" Sigrid drops her hands and looks over her shoulder, searching for another presence, before realizing the boy had been sarcastic. "Wait! You can hear me..."

"Yes?" Jeremy nods once more, hoping to get past the repetitiveness of their conversation so far. There was a distant desire for him to call Elena to help with this odd situation, but he quickly shut that idea down. His sister liked to keep him in the dark, there was no harm in returning the favor for once.

The girl in front of him didn't seem dangerous or much of a threat, but looks could be deceiving, a lesson he had learned the hard way. His sister was a prime example of this, she was kind-hearted enough, but the same could not be said of her evil doppelgänger, Katerina.

A big smile makes its way to Sigrid's face as she watches the boy, who now looked sweetly confused, if not a tad worried. She excitedly claps her hands in front of her chest, trying to contain her joy. "Oh my- I can't believe it. You can hear me! And see me! I-this is so exciting Hi, I'm Sigrid, I'm a ghost."

Sigrid shrugs her shoulders a little when Jeremy's eyes widen in surprise. "It's so nice to meet you! You won't believe how long it has been since anyone has spoken to me!"

"A very long time, judging by your enthusiasm?" Jeremy asks awkwardly. Noticing the shine to Sigrid's eyes, he winces, hoping he hadn't been too insensitive. "Please don't cry, hey, um-take a seat?"

"Oh, thank you. You're such a kind person." Sigrid sniffles, planting herself on the bed. "And yes, you're right. It has been a very, very long time! No wait, there was this one guy in Prague, but perhaps he was a bit... silly in the head." Sigrid whispers the last part, hoping not to offend the poor man, who would undoubtedly already be long dead.

Jeremy blinks, dumbfounded by the waterfall of words that were coming from the girl.

"Can I know your name?" Sigrid continues, undisturbed by the stunned look on the young man's face.

"I'm Jeremy, it's... nice to meet you, Sigrid."

"Jeremy... that's a lovely name." Sigrid nods her head in approval, having come across several Jeremy's in the past centuries. "This must be quite weird for you. Seeing a ghost and talking to one. Have you seen ghosts before or am I your first?" Sigrid knew she was rambling, but the excitement of actually interacting with someone overran every desire to act demure, as she had often done whilst alive.

"No, I have never-" Jeremy's mind races with unlikely scenarios that caused him to be able to see this girl. While sifting through Gilbert's diaries for his vampire account, he believed to have seen the phenomenon of ghosts a few times. "How is it possible I can see you? Are you, like, talking to a witch or something?"

"No, no, that's highly unlikely seeing as I am alone here." Sigrid's gaze drifts towards the wall she had tumbled through, Elijah would probably already be gone. "Are you a medium?"

"Not that I know of?" Jeremy shakes his head, still somewhat disbelieving of the interaction he was having. "Wait, I saw you at the Grill the other day"

Sigrid's eyes brighten instantly with enthusiasm. "You did?"

"Yes, you were quite... noticeable in your white dress, at least to me." Jeremy shrugs, a small grin forming upon seeing Sigrid's childlike glee over something as something seemingly insignificant as being perceived by another being.

Sigrid confirms Jeremy's suspicion. "It's so wonderful to hear that you noticed me."

"I'm sorry, that you're dead and all that." Jeremy mutters, hand scratching the back of his neck. He knew he had only met the girl, but he felt obliged to say something kind to her about her rather cruel way of existing.

"It's alright, dear. After a few decades of shouting myself hoarse, I started to accept my fate." Sigrid glances back to smile at the boy, only to discover his troubled expression. "Oh no, I'm sorry, I don't mean to make you uncomfortable. I'm alright. I get to see my loved ones, which is... nice."

"You don't seem convinced of that." Jeremy shrugs, noticing the flicker in Sigrid's bright smile.

"It's difficult to see the people you love moving on, without you. To not be able to share in their moments of joy and sadness." Sigrid admits. She didn't like addressing the downsides of one-way communication, because a small part of her was grateful for the opportunity of watching over her Mikaelsons.

"How long... have you been dead?" Jeremy mumbles the words, curiosity taking over.

"Over a thousand years." She had stopped counting after the first few centuries.

Jeremy blinks whilst trying to process the fact he was talking to someone who was over a thousand years old. He sometimes already had problems with accepting that the Salvatores were over a hundred years. "That explains the dress."

Sigrid grins, she was grateful that he didn't ask about her cause of death. People liked to state that time healed all wounds, but some things could still hurt after a thousand years. Sigrid's eyes fall onto Jeremy's desk. Like Elena's room, here too could occasional family photos be found along with the clutter. It left a hollow feeling in her chest, she would love to recreate some of the goofy photos with her Mikaelsons. "Am I distracting you from your homework?"

"Yes, but I will gladly take any distraction." Jeremy shrugs.

"How come?"

"My sister, she has... friends, vampire friends. She dealt with quite some supernatural drama. They try to keep me out of it, but I want to help. She might be older, but she's still my sister. I want to protect her" He looks down at his hands, not sure why he was sharing this with someone he had just met.

Sigrid notices the boy's slight discomfort and shoots him a small smile."I understand, Jeremy. Nothing wrong with wanting to protect the people you love."

Jeremy is about to respond when a knock on his door interrupts him. "Yeah?" He calls out, slightly annoyed at being intruded on.

Elena opens the door and looks around Jeremy's room. She was still a bit spooked after her interaction with Elijah. Hearing voices in Jeremy's room made her worry that the Original was also paying her brother a visit. "Are you talking to someone?"

"No, I was simply talking to my walls." Jeremy deadpans before holding his phone up, indicating that he indeed was quite busy with a conversation. Elena didn't need to know that he wasn't actually having a a phone call.

Sigrid stifles a giggle. She was relieved that Jeremy hadn't ratted her out to his sister.

"Okay." Elena gives her brother a tentative smile before closing the door again.

Sigrid reaches out and distractedly lets her fingers go over the device, fascinated by the small number of pads.

"What were you doing in my sister's room?" Jeremy asks carefully, dropping his phone on top of the bedsheets. It was of course understandable that ghosts liked to snoop around, but it still made him feel a bit uneasy.

"She was talking to my... to Elijah."

"The Original?" Jeremy blurts out, not bothering to be cool about the situation as Damon might do. He was eager to learn any bit of information that Sigrid could hand him.

"You know of the Originals?" Sigrid grins hopefully at Jeremy. This meant she could talk about her loved ones to someone.

Jeremy didn't share Sigrid's optimistic and warm feelings towards the Originals. He grimly continues. "I know that there is someone after my sister."
