CHAPTER 005 – CLASS 1B
It was close to the start of homeroom class and a girl with short black hair was seated at one of the desks. She had been there for the past several minutes, waiting for the rest of her classmates and homeroom teacher to arrive. While she waited, she thought about what she had to go through in order to be able to attend UA University. From her training to her studies, she had done her absolute best to prepare for the entrance exam for the most prestigious hero course in the country, if not the world. Her hard work bore fruit and as an added bonus in her eyes, she was accepted through her efforts alone.
Though her family had attempted to get her enrolled via recommendation through their many connections, they had been a little late on that regard as the amount of recommendations for this particular year was full. She remembered how upset her father was and how distraught her mother was. It was a good thing that she didn't place all her hopes to attend the best university for hero training through only that means. Her father wanted to show off their status by doing that but she was secretly glad that she got in without it for many reasons.
One of the biggest reasons was to show her parents that she could do things on her own and that she never needed things to be done for her, especially now that she was of age at eighteen years old. Before becoming accepted to UA via her own efforts, for as long as she could remember, most things were done for her and she didn't have any control in her life. From a young age, she was taught how to interact properly with other elite people. How to hold herself, when to speak and how to speak. What kind of behavior to display. What kind of appearance to portray and how to maintain it. What to learn regarding studies and training. How to keep her emotions and feelings from showing. And so much more. She was never allowed to be herself and was taught to do what was expected of her because of who her family is. For her family, the Kodai family, were amongst the wealthy and well connected with several other powerful families in the nation. And so, she had a much different life than almost all others around her age as she grew up.
She didn't mind it too much however because even though she did resent being controlled throughout her life, she was able to accept it. And it was all due to the fact that she was able to make a couple close friends who she had known for a long time. She could still remember the day they had met each other at the park so many years ago. And oddly enough, it was on a day where she had one of her rare tantrums because she wanted to go to the park and play with the other kids instead of studying for school. That one action of hers brought her into contact with two people who would become her best friends for life.
And it was because of her best friends that she was able to keep going and not go crazy from all the prim and proper, and also very stressful, antics that her family had made her go through. From attending social events with other notable figures, to attending private schools and even being forced to endure interactions with people who wanted her hand that she wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. All of her experiences had molded her into being unable to express herself well and also made her become a girl with very few words spoken and even fewer emotions shown.
But even with all of those problems that she has, her friendships with her close friends never faltered because of it. They had stuck by her side through all the unpleasant things she had to go through and even helped her through many of them. For that, she was eternally grateful of them and had promised herself that she would be there for them too and always cherish their friendships no matter what.
She continued thinking about some more things about her past and how she was finally able to take the first step to get away from all that until the classroom door opened. Moving her gaze slightly towards it, she saw two girls walk in together as they chatted away. One had red hair tied into a side ponytail while the other had shoulder length green hair. An almost unnoticeable expression of realization and happiness formed on her face as she locked eyes with them, who smiled widely at seeing her as well.
"Hey Yui! I'm glad that we have the same class together!" exclaimed the redhead, walking up to her.
"Hell yea, looks like the tripod is still complete!" remarked the green haired girl with a smirk.
"Yes, it is fortunate Itsuka, Setsuna," replied back Yui with barely noticeable emotion as she stood to greet her friends. The three shared a quick hug before deciding to take their seats.
The red head took a seat to the left of the black haired girl. "So, we got lucky we're together. I wonder who else will be in our class?" wondered Itsuka out loud.
"As long as we don't get any annoying little shits, I'm good," replied Setsuna, plopping onto the seat in front of Yui and turned her body to face her friends. "Oh and there better be some eye candy in our class or I'm gonna be pissed."
Itsuka rolled her eyes while Yui merely let out a 'hmm' in response. "Of course. Not even five minutes into UA and you're already talking about boys. Don't you think about anything else?" asked Itsuka. Setsuna opened her mouth to counter back but she was cut off. "Besides dinosaurs and Godzillo."
"Of course I do! I…" started Setsuna but then trailed off as she tried to come up with something. Both Itsuka and Yui waited for her to say something with the former having a wide smirk form on her face. "Oh!" yelped the green haired girl, making her two friends jump in their seats at her sudden excited shout. "Yeah, I do! I think about my future as a heroine and all the pranks I'm going to pull on you and everyone else in the dorms!" revealed Setsuna before she started laughing.
Scoffing but also chuckling at the same time, Itsuka shrugged. "Well, I guess that's better than nothing. Just don't go overboard on the pranks and stuff alright?"
Setsuna had a mad grin on her face. "No promises!"
"She's honest," remarked Yui in her calm tone and both her friends chuckled.
Just then their classroom's door opened and many people wearing the school uniform walked in that caught their attention. Most of them were busy conversing with one another and they got their first looks at their classmates for the next few years. Two of the new arrivals were girls and they did stop to greet the three before sitting down and continuing with their conversation. One was taller than the other, with light grey hair that covered half of her face. The second girl had blonde hair and two horns on her head. The rest of them were male and some of them greeted the three girls as they took seats around in the classroom.
Itsuka and Yui said their hellos in return before chatting a little with them. Well, the red head did while the black haired girl remained quiet. Setsuna shared some small talk with them but was also covertly eying up and down each of the males while giving them a mental grade on their looks. Both Itsuka and Yui knew exactly what she was doing when they noticed her calculated look and how she kept moving her gaze towards a different male classmate every few seconds.
Itsuka let out a sigh before whispering to her friend. "Should've known. Why did I think she'll get better as we grow up?"
"Misplaced hope," answered Yui, causing the red head to laugh while shaking her head.
Finally finished talking with the new arrivals, and also her grading, Setsuna faced her friends again. "We got a few contenders. Not amazing but they're above average. Momma's happy."
"Ugh, please stop saying that," whined Itsuka, embarrassed over her friend's words.
Setsuna just grinned in response. "Nope!"
"Hmm. Needs help." Yui's words made both girls, who were about to continue their little argument for the umpteenth time, look at her before turning to look where she had her gaze on. A short brown haired girl had entered the classroom and she nervously looked around as if to find a safe spot to hide in.
"Hey, over here shorty!"
Startled over her words, the brown haired girl moved her gaze towards the one who called out to her and saw a green haired girl with a wide, sharp toothed smile waving at her to come join her group. Making her way to her while holding her hands in front of her, she stopped in front of them. "H-Hi there. M-My name i-is Kinoko K-Komori. Nice t-to meet you!" After introducing herself, she bowed to the three girls.
"Whoa, whoa, easy girl!" said Setsuna, making Kinoko stand straight and stare at them worriedly while blushing slightly from embarrassment. "No need to go all formal with us. Just chill and relax, alright?"
"T-Thank you," replied Kinoko, feeling a lot of her tension fading away as she took a seat in front of Itsuka.
"Hey, no prob! I'm Setsuna Tokage, the cool one, by the way. The quiet one behind me with the black hair is Yui Kodai and the girl scout with the red side ponytail behind you is Itsuka Kendo."
"Hello."
"Good to meet you."
Kinoko faced the two girls and nodded her head. "Hi and g-good to m-meet you. Thanks for being n-nice to me. I hope w-we can be g-good friends."
Setsuna's smile grew larger seeing her shy personality. "Wow, you're so adorable. Guys are gonna want to just eat you up! But don't worry, I can teach you how to bite back!" Kinoko had a stunned expression form on her face but also blushed heavily. Setsuna cackled loudly at her reaction, which made some of their classmates look in their direction to see what was happening.
"Behave," said Yui while Itsuka lightly chopped Setsuna on her head.
"Oww!"
"Don't worry about her Komori. Setsuna just likes to cause mischief," explained Itsuka kindly while Yui merely let out her trademark 'hmm' in agreement. Setsuna nursed her head and stuck out her tongue playfully at them. Kinoko smiled a little at their playful banter and nodded in understanding.
"Mischief you say?" All four of them turned to face another girl who started talking to them, drawing their attention. She had just entered the classroom along with some others and heard the end of their conversation. Sporting long green hair that looked like vines with thorns, this new girl was giving them a serious look. "You do know that our Lord and Savior dislikes mischief?" she asked them.
"Uh, who are you?" asked Setsuna for them all.
"Forgive me. My name is Ibara Shiozaki, a devout follower of Christianity," she said, introducing herself. Raising her hands and clasping them together in front of her chest, she closed her eyes and continued speaking. "I live to serve his Holiness by becoming a pro hero to protect and shelter the weak while also spreading His good word to the people," she finished explaining, while somehow, from somewhere, a bright light shined down upon her from above.
Many students in the class thought the same thing; where is that light coming from?
"Too bright!" commented Setsuna, covering her face with her hands. "Okay, enough with the theatrics!"
Opening her eyes and lowering her hands, Ibara looked at the green haired girl with narrowed eyes as the light faded. After Setsuna lowered her hands, the religious girl spoke. "Please refrain from insulting my religion. My actions are not theatrics. My beliefs spur me to action and I want to spread His good name. And one of the things I've vowed to do is to help steer people back onto God's path. You are straying from it if you're causing mischief and if you continue down this path, then you'll be judged for your sins," explained Ibara in a way too serious tone of voice that made many give her awkward looks over her fanaticism.
Even with an expressionless face, Yui became concerned while Itsuka let out a long sigh since they both knew how Setsuna was going to react and what she was going to do. Their new friend Kinoko looked frightened over what was happening and had no idea what to do or say.
"That's all well and good sister…" started Setsuna in a condescending tone as she stood up and fully turned her body to face the newcomer with an annoyed look. Setsuna had very high patience and tolerance for most things, being alright with people speaking their minds. She actually preferred people having no filter since then they were speaking the truth. But one of the few things she had no time for and didn't take kindly to at all was someone trying to control her and change who she is. "…but don't be trying to shove your beliefs down my throat. Or other peoples' throats. Got it, you zealot?"
"How dare you!" snapped Ibara angrily, upset over what she was called and her help being ignored. "I'm not an overzealous fanatic! You have some nerve insulting me when I was only trying to help you so you don't fall from our Lord's eyes due to your sinful ways, you…you…harlot!" finished Ibara loudly with a red face, making many in the class become shocked over what she said.
"This is disgraceful," commented a tall and rather beastly looking male who also wore glasses. He had seen everything from the beginning, along with many of his classmates. He turned to the classmate he just met. "Should we intervene Kaibara?" he asked.
A sigh was let out from his newly made friend with black hair. "Got that right, Shishida. But I don't think we should get involved. It's a girls' fight and trust me, it's better if we don't."
"You have a point. We might escalate things without meaning to," replied Shishida, taking his advice into consideration. "But if things do get worse, we should put an end to it," he said and Kaibara reluctantly agreed.
A few of the other guys in the classroom however, glanced at one another and couldn't help but smirk before turning back to the sudden entertainment in front of them. Sure, they were aiming to be heroes but they were still warm blooded males. They'd be lying if they said that they wouldn't enjoy seeing a catfight, especially if it happened right in front of them.
Itsuka and Yui grew angry but didn't get involved because Setsuna put her hand out to stop them as she sensed them start to rise from their seats. Understanding her, both girls remained seated but were ready to jump in if needed.
Setsuna shook in her spot, rage filling her. She was controlling herself at first, knowing how many people, especially those who are over religious, tend to be narrow minded. But this vine haired girl had just crossed the line by insulting her. Taking a few seconds to reign in her desire of punching the girl's lights out, Setsuna then growled out her next words. "Now listen here bitch…" Ibara gasped at the insult. "…just because I speak my mind and like joking around, doesn't mean I'm a whore or that I'm sinning. So stop judging others as if you're God and don't act like you're so much better than us, acting all high and mighty." Ibara started shaking as her anger grew. "Try this shit again, and I'll kick your ass from here all the way to church!"
Ibara couldn't hold in her anger anymore and exploded due to the threat against her. "How dare you! I would never try to act as if I'm our Lord and Savior! And you dare threaten me, a servant of His?! You will answer for your transgressions against God!"
"Could've fooled me with the way you're acting. Servant or not, I only see you here, not God so I'm pretty sure I haven't transgressed against Him," snapped Setsuna back. Expressions of pure dislike appeared on both girls' faces and were probably just one comment away from snapping and turning their argument into an actual fight.
One of their classmates had seen enough. He was frankly disgusted over how potential heroines were acting with one another. Standing up from his seat, he was about to walk over to the two girls and put a stop to it.
But then a loud clapping sound shot out in the room all of a sudden, stopping him in his tracks. He and everyone else turned to face the one who did it. They saw that the red haired girl with the side ponytail had stood up and clapped her enormous hands. Getting the two girls' attention, as well as everyone else's, Itsuka shrunk her hands back to normal size and spoke. "That's enough you two! We're all here to learn to be proper heroes. So stop this pointless fight before someone gets hurt. You don't have to become like one another but learn to respect each other's differences and get along. I'm pretty sure that's something that both society and God wants. Understand?!" chastised Itsuka while glaring at the two. Sure, she was angry at Ibara for insulting her friend. But she was also disappointed in Setsuna for letting it get under her skin when things like this normally wouldn't affect her so and letting things escalate so much.
Both girls stared at Itsuka and went quiet for a bit as they thought about what she just said. A moment later, they both turned to look at one another. "Hmph!" Letting out the same sound as they reacted, Setsuna sat back down in her seat while Ibara moved to sit on one of the chairs at the end so she could be as far away as possible from the sinner.
"Wow! That was so manly!"
Itsuka turned towards the one who spoke and found a silver haired young man with long silver colored eyelashes looking at her with admiration. "But I'm a girl…" she replied back with a confused look.
"I know! But you did what I wanted to do and you were so badass in stepping in and stopping them. The way you did it was so manly!"
"Ah, thanks? I guess?"
"Haha, you're welcome! I'm Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu! I know, it's a mouthful so you can just call me Tetsu! All of you can!" he said, introducing himself with enthusiasm and looked around at everyone who just stared at him before looking at the red haired girl again. "What's your name?"
"I'm Itsuka Kendo. Nice to meet you," she replied back.
Before anyone else could say anything, the door opened loudly and someone entered the room that caught everyone's attention. A very tall and bulky grey haired man dressed in a dark red and white skin tight costume strode to the front of the class and stood with his arms crossed. Seeing most of his students still standing with some even giving him curious looks, he decided to get things rolling. "To your seats!" Scrambling to sit down, it didn't take them long to do so and he nodded. "Alright, good morning class! I'm your homeroom teacher and my name is Sekijiro Kan. I'm also the pro hero Vlad King. You may call me Sensei, Vlad Sensei or Kan Sensei. Is that understood?"
"Yes Sensei!" answered the students together.
A small smile appeared on his face. "Good. Now get ready to leave as we have an orientation to get to."

Principal Nezu surveyed the incoming students led into the large auditorium by their teachers as he stood at the top of the small step stool behind the podium while in the middle of the stage. Watching as they filed into their respective seats, he had a smile form on his face. Until he noticed something and his smile became smaller while his right eye twitched. An entire section of the seats reserved for class 1A was empty. Glancing to his right towards some of his staff, he began speaking to the closest one to him, which was a voluptuous woman with long, dark blue hair dressed in a rather provocative skin tight suit. "He did it again. Did he mention why?" he asked in a low voice.
She turned to look at him before responding. "No. Does it really surprise you?" she whispered back.
His smile disappeared completely while shaking his head. "Unfortunately, no. But I told him this year things are changing and he needs to be here. He better have a good reason for skipping out again. Do you know what he's doing Nemuri?"
Chuckling slightly while throwing back her long dark blue hair over her right shoulder, Nemuri Kayama, also known as the R-Rated hero Midnight, shrugged. "Probably wants to get the assessment done as fast as possible so he can go to sleep. And he might've mentioned that he didn't want to waste his time."
The small animal's eyes narrowed and he frowned. A chill went down the heroine's spine over the principal's upset expression. "I'll deal with him later."
The principal moved his gaze back towards his students and Nemuri let out a sigh. Good luck Shota. You just pissed off Nezu.
Seeing them all seated and waiting for him to start, the small, white hybrid animal cleared his head and focused on what he was supposed to do instead. "Good morning students!" said Nezu in his usual cheerful tone of voice. His greeting blared out through the speakers in the auditorium as he spoke into the microphone in front of him. Immediately the buzzing that was there before quieted down so he could continue speaking. "Am I a mouse? A bear? Or some sort of combination of animals?" His questions were met with silence. "Well, it doesn't matter as I'm Principal Nezu and welcome to UA University! Once more congratulations on passing the entrance exams!" He said with a smile. The teachers clapped and so did the students with some even letting out cheers. Nezu chuckled a bit before continuing on. "Yes, be proud of your accomplishment. And now, this is your orientation. But don't worry, it won't take too long and then you'll follow your teachers to your homeroom classes where they'll explain everything else to you before you get started on your hero academics."
Nezu waited for a moment so everyone can calm down and silence to fill the area once more so he can continue. "Now, you have all taken the first step towards your hero careers. You've all read in your acceptance letters how we're going to do some things differently this year. For one, hero classes will do joint exercises together. Business, general education and support courses will also do certain classes together. And then, throughout the year, we will have all classes do certain activities together." At this, the area became filled with buzzing as the students conversed over that surprise. "Yes, we've decided to have all classes, no matter which, to do certain projects and activities together. Even attend certain events together too." This information caused the buzzing to get louder but Nezu quickly silenced them with a few taps on his microphone. "As you've noticed, we're changing the way we do things and we want our future pro heroes and support personnel to have better relationships with one another. Each year, with quirks becoming more powerful and more complicated, you'll face increasingly ruthless villains and very complicated situations. You'll never know when you might need one another's help or assistance. We believe it's better to develop good relations with one another as soon as possible."
Hearing their principal speak of villains and complications made most of the students nod in understanding or comment on how that makes sense. Hearing some of that as well as other comments, made Nezu happy that they were reacting positively to it. Tapping the microphone, the students went quiet again. "Yes, it's good and of course you'll still need to compete with one another to reach higher levels of strength, intelligence, speed and whatever else you're aiming for. A little rivalry used in the right ways never hurt anyone and can actually spur you on to reach greater heights than you thought possible." Multiple declarations were made from the students, stating that they'll give it their all and of the school motto of going beyond plus ultra.
Nezu smiled and so did the staff on the stage. "Now that's the attitude of true heroes. Moving on, we'll also have some special classes taught by special guests throughout the year, so look forward to those. In addition, each class will have their own dorms, complete with all necessities you would need. But we'll only stock food in the beginning. After that, you'll have to do your own grocery shopping." Nezu chuckled as the students grumbled. "You'll be able to move in at the end of classes this Friday. Your homeroom teachers will have more information regarding dorms. But I will mention that you're welcome to decorate and furnish it as you see fit as long as it doesn't bring about any issues since it will be your homes for the next three years. Hopefully."
Some more murmurings between the students over that last word made Nezu look at them seriously now with a rather eerie smile on his face. "As you guessed, we give our teachers as well as our students much freedom as we are very lenient on many things. However, there are certain lines that can never be crossed. I won't go into detail but you'll find the school rules and policies in your class syllabus when you receive them. I advise that you go through them as soon as you can." Letting that sink in, Nezu almost started laughing sinisterly at seeing their worried expressions. "Now, I would like to introduce some of the staff that will also be giving lessons here at U.A." Gesturing to the ones to his side with his right paw, the teachers there stood up and took turns stepping forward to introduce themselves.
The first was Nemuri, who once again threw her long blue hair behind her and cocked her hip to the side before speaking. "Hello everyone. I'm Nemuri Kayama, but you can call me Midnight sensei. I look forward to our art history classes," she said with a seductive tone. She blew out a kiss while also winking, making many of the male students, including a few of the female students, to blush at her actions.
After she went, the blonde haired man to her right spoke. "Heya guys and gals! Hizashi Yamada here, but please, Sensei or Present Mic will do just fine! See ya in English! YEAH!" Yelling that last word out, a few students copied him, making him grin before allowing the next person to go.
A tall and broad person who looked like a bipedal dog growled a big before speaking. "Ryo Inui. I'm Hound Dog. I'm also your guidance counselor." *Grrr* "Don't be afraid to come to me if you have problems, whether academic or personal." Barking at the end, many students jumped in their seats, causing their friends to laugh at their expense before he stepped back.
"Good morning children," said an elderly, short lady. She didn't move forward but tapped her cane on the floor a couple times to get everyone's attention. "My name is Chiyo Shuzenji, or Recovery Girl if you will. I'm the school nurse. Hopefully we won't see each other often but whenever we do, I'll do my best to take care of you."
Looking like a stone slab with arms, the next staff member took a step forward. "I'm your modern literature teacher, Ken Ishiyama or Cementoss. I also make all those wonderful mock cities for you all to practice in. Please don't destroy them too much," he requested, making many students chuckle.
When he stepped back, a taller person moved forward dressed in a very large trench coat. "Ectoplasm is the name and mathematics is what I teach. See you in class," he said simply.
As he finished, the last staff member moved in front. "Hiya! I'm Lunch Rush and I handle all the food! Hope you like my dishes!" he said while waving a ladle in the air as he fixed his chef's hat.
"HAHAHAHAHA!" Right when he finished, a boisterous laugh was heard that seemed to be coming from everywhere that made every single student become excited and look around to try and find the owner of the laugh. Before anyone of them could say anything, a behemoth of a man dropped down from above in front of the standing staff on the stage. "IT IS I, DROPPING IN WITH STYLE!"
"ALL MIGHT!"
"Wow, he's so awesome!"
"Why's he here?!"
More and more students shouted out in surprise and excitement in seeing the number one hero, the Symbol of Peace. All Might stood up straight with his fists planted against his waist on either side. "Welcome students! As you already know, I'm All Might! I'm glad to see so many students with bright futures ahead of them! I'll be teaching Fundamental Hero classes! But even if you can't come to my class, remember to do your best and follow the school motto! Go beyond! Plus Ultra!" he said before giving them a thumbs up with his right hand.
The gathered students in the auditorium applauded and cheered loudly after his statement. All Might nodded with his signature smile still on his face before moving to stand beside Midnight. The teachers remained standing and Nezu tapped the microphone in front of him a few times, making the speakers once again blare out the thumps to quiet down the students. "Remember, you're all welcome to seek out any one of us if you have questions, concerns or suggestions. We have an open door policy with everyone so feel free to come to us if you have something on your mind. And that brings our orientation to a close. Once more I'd like to say welcome to UA University!" said Nezu and the crowd of students let out cheers as they stood up. The next couple of minutes consisted of their homeroom teachers directing their class to leave the auditorium and head back to their classrooms. Once they all left, Nezu requested the staff still there to gather in his office…

"Alright everyone, get to your newly assigned seats. They should be in alphabet order or close to it," commanded Vlad King. Standing behind his podium in the front of the room, he watched his students look for and then take their seats while having excited looks on their faces with some even whispering to one another. "Quickly!" They all went silent and moved faster to sit down and face him. "I know you're pumped up from the orientation and that's good. But we still have some things to take care of today. First, we'll introduce ourselves to each other, reveal our quirk to one another and if you want, one thing about yourself. Since I already mentioned my name, I'll tell you what my quirk is. It's called Blood Control. I can control my blood to do what I want, using it for offense or defense." His students murmured about it when he gave a demonstration of his quirk, making a blade out of his blood before making it go away. Grinning at them, he then pointed at the one sitting on the front far left corner seat. "You go first. Remember, name, quirk, what it does and if you want to, something about yourself."
"Sure thing, Vlad sensei," said the young man before he stood up and turned to face his classmates. He had black hair that was kept back with a wide, white headband that has blue zigzags on it to keep his hair from entering his eyes. He was fairly tall with an athletic build. "Yosetsu Awase's the name. My quirk is Weld, allowing me to fuse both organic and inorganic material together at the atomic level. I like taking things apart to see how they work. Fair warning to all who annoy me, I'll weld you to the wall!" he told his classmates, sitting back down when finished while several rolled their eyes at him.
"My name is Sen Kaibara," started the next person, standing up as he spoke, making his classmates focus on him now. He was of average height with a similar medium build as Awase. He ran his hand through his short brown hair before continuing. "My quirk is Gyrate, allowing me to rotate any part of my body at high speeds like a drill, increasing my combat capabilities. I like playing videogames."
Finished with his introduction, he sat down while the third person went up. He was tall with a slender build with pale yellow-green skin and his hair was a bright green mohawk along with two hooked blades that jutted out from either side of his cheeks. "Togaru Kamakiri. My quirk is Razor Sharp, allowing me to bring out very sharp blades from any part of my body. I like fighting and don't care about stupid things. Don't blame me when you get cut up during practice battles!"
Several people scoffed as he sat down and the fourth stood up. "Shihai Kuroiro and my quirk is from the abyss and it's called Black!" he said, making his classmates raise their eyebrows. For his skin color was also pitch black and they wondered if it was related to his quirk. They got their answer after he moved his unkempt white hair away from his eyes. "My quirk allows me to merge with the darkness around us to use against my enemies. So beware the abyss!" Several of his classmates commented that they're not afraid of the dark and told him to bring it as he sat back down.
"I'm up next," remarked Itsuka, getting up from her seat. "Most of you already know but my name is Itsuka Kendo. My quirk is Big Fist…" She enlarged her right hand to its maximum size that was several times larger than normal before shrinking it back down. "…and as you can see, it lets me increase my hands' size and when they're big, I have increased strength. I like to practice martial arts."
A few of the guys in the class whispered to one another after confirming something that they had wondered about from the first time they saw her use her quirk. Snickering quietly after listening to her and witnessing her quirk demonstration, they were still heard. And some of the stuff they said wasn't exactly nice, making several frown. Itsuka wanted to say something but decided to teach them a lesson later on when they inevitably had some quirk practice.
Luckily for her, Vlad also noticed them whispering and smirking. "Anything you care to share with the class?" he asked them with narrowed eyes. The three went quiet at once and shook their heads while looking extremely nervous. "I thought so. One more interruption and you'll have detention on your first day. That goes for everyone. Understood?!"
"Yes Sensei!" replied the whole class.
"Good. You may sit down Kendo." She down but also glared at the three guys as she did so and her two best friends did the same. The guys however didn't falter. "Next!" said Vlad as he pointed at the next person.
Yui stood up. "My name is Yui Kodai. My quirk is Size. Allows me to change the size of anything by enlarging them or shrinking them down to pebble size." She turned to look at the three with her stoic expression. "Anything and I dislike bullies," she repeated in her monotone voice while keeping her neutral expression. She may be quiet most of the time, but Yui wasn't afraid to speak out when needed. The three guys gulped loudly, becoming terrified of the girl.
Itsuka and Setsuna smirked while internally cheering for their friend. They knew how her quirk really worked but didn't contradict Yui since they understood her plan to mess with them.
Vlad barely had the ends of his lips turn upwards ever so slightly from amusement. He knew all of his students' quirks and knew at once what the black haired girl was doing. Letting her have that for the moment, he decided to not contradict his student.
After Yui, the short brown haired girl stood up. "H-Hi everyone. My n-name is Kinoko K-Komori. My quirk is Mushroom. I can make, g-grow and u-use different types of mushrooms for different p-purposes. I like c-cooking, I like puns and I'm a fan of H-Hawks. Thank you." Once finished, she quickly sat back down with a reddened face. She happened to glance around, missing a certain male's gaze on her but caught Setsuna's gaze. Her new friend grinned at her and mouthed the words 'eat you up' before opening her mouth and then closing it with an audible chomping sound. Blushing even more, Kinoko hid her face in her hands and refused to look in Setsuna's direction again as the introductions continued.
The next person to go was Ibara. Standing up, she looked at her homeroom teacher and brought her hands up to clasp them in front of her chest. A light shone on her again when she started speaking. "My name is Ibara Shiozaki. I've been gifted a righteous quirk called Vines, which is my hair. I can stretch them out to incredible length and control them in a variety of ways. Using this blessing, it is my duty as one of God's followers to find those who have strayed from the path…" Barely glancing towards Setsuna, her eyes narrowed slightly as she continued. "…and help them back into the light if they can be saved and are worthy enough." Looking at her teacher, she nodded her head, the light fading away before sitting back down.
Vlad noticed the tension between the two green haired girls during that introduction. Damn it. That's another problem for this class. Wasn't the egocentric blonde and the three immature ones enough? And where the hell did that light come from? Deciding to think about those important notes later, he pointed to the next student.
The beastly looking individual stood up and adjusted his glasses before speaking. "Hello everyone, it's a pleasure to meet you all. My name is Jurota Shishida and my quirk is related to my appearance; Beast. I have increased physical abilities and my sense of smell is also heightened. My quirk also allows me to transform into a much more beastly form that increases my already heightened abilities to incredible levels. But do not fret, for I am in control. I enjoy reading many types of literature." Bowing to everyone, he then sat back down.
A chubby young man of average height with blue hair stood up. "My name is Nirengeki Shoda. My quirk is Twin Impact. It allows me to do multiple things. I can remotely cause attacks to repeat a second time with much stronger force compared to the first hit. I can also use it to jump higher and move quicker. I can also use it to amplify my ally's attack. I like anything that deals with strategy." He sat back down and turned his attention to the next speaker.
"Hi!" exclaimed the next person, who was a blonde haired short girl that had a horn on either side of her head. She was nervous but thought if she showed some enthusiasm, then it would be easier and might let her classmates like her. Speaking in broken Japanese, her classmates barely understood her. "My name Pony Tsunotori. From America and transfer student. Quirk is Horn Cannon!" Pointing to her horns, she smiled with her large blue eyes captivating her classmates. "Can shoot and control them! Love Japan! Love anime and manga!" she said before sitting back down.
Itsuka and Yui looked at one another from the corner of their eyes after the transfer student finished talking. Knowing what the other was thinking, both of them let out quiet sighs. They then shifted their concerned gazes to look at the third member of their tripod.
Setsuna was surprised over what she saw, staring at the oblivious transfer student with wide eyes and her mouth slightly open for a few seconds. Until she moved her gaze towards Kinoko. No way! Two?! Two of them?! WE HAVE TWO ADORABLE LITTLE MUNCHKINS IN OUR CLASS?! OH HELL YEA! I'm gonna have so much fun messin with them and having them be part of my plans! Setsuna smiled wickedly and started brainstorming all the pranks and shenanigans she was going to pull.
A cold shiver went down both Kinoko's and Pony's spines. Shaking slightly in their seats, they wondered where that came from. Unable to find out why, they decided to push past it and listen to the rest of their classmates introducing themselves.
"My name is Kosei Tsuburaba," said the next person who stood up. He was of average height with brown hair and slender build. "My quirk is called Solid Air and it lets me solidify any air I breathe out, making walls or platforms with them. I like playing sports." And I'm a man of culture as well, he thought as he sat down and glanced at the girls in the room with a slight smirk that wasn't noticed by anyone.
After him, Tetsu stood up. "Hi everyone! I said it earlier but I'll say it again. My name is Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu. Yeah, I know my parents are weird and it's a mouthful. So just call me Tetsu!" Raising his hands in the air, he grinned before his entire body turned a metallic sheen, making many of his classmates become impressed. "My Quirk is Steel, which lets my skin turn into steel, increasing my physical abilities. I like manly things and I'm always up to train!" Finishing with a thumbs up, he turned his quirk off and sat back down.
"My turn!" exclaimed Setsuna enthusiastically as she stood up. Cocking her hip to one side while placing her hand on her hip, she gave a rather sly smile, causing some of her male classmates to redden at her seductive pose while Ibara narrowed her eyes at her. "This lovely person that you're seeing in front of you is Setsuna Tokage! And my quirk is Lizard Tail Splitter! Oh, what does it do?" she asked for them and started twirling her hair with her free hand's index finger while Yui and Itsuka rolled their eyes but remained quiet. "Well, let me give you a clue. Wanna know why a girl tells her lover to pull her hair?" Many people in the class went red at her question and even Vlad was stunned that she would say something like that. He was about to chastise her for it when she continued. "It's because they lose their head over it!" And with that statement said, Setsuna grasped her hair and then pulled it hard. Her head literally popped off her neck and was caught by her hand while sporting a sinister grin.
"AAAAHHHHHHHHHH!"
"ZOMBIE!"
"KILL IT WITH FIRE!"
"SHOOT HER! SHOOT HER IN THE HEAD!"
"GOD, PURIFY THIS EVIL ABOMINATION!"
Over half the class jumped and screamed in shock and fear over what they just witnessed and backed away as far as they could from the now headless girl. The rest were too stunned to react while Itsuka laughed and Yui shook her head in amusement with a smile so small it was practically unnoticeable. Setsuna however was cackling like mad over their reactions, looking even more horrifying to her classmates since her head was still being held within the palm of her hand.
"ENOUGH!" roared Vlad, making them all go silent at once and faced their teacher with frightened gazes. "Tokage is not a zombie or undead or evil or anything of the sort. Her quirk allows her to split up her body and regenerate her body parts if they end up becoming lost, just like certain species of lizards. You're all here to become pro heroes so get over it already and be prepared to face the unknown." His explanation of her quirk, not to mention how he was not surprised in the slightest nor was he afraid in anyway, made the class calm down and they went back to their seats while embarrassed over their reactions. Though some were still rattled from what they just witnessed. "And you Tokage…" started Vlad, turning his gaze towards her and saw her put her head back on top of her neck. "…I said explain your quirk, not scare the class half to death," he said with a disappointed tone of voice.
"Sorry Sensei," apologized Setsuna while rubbing the back of her head and giving a sheepish smile. "I don't get to do that often and sometimes I can't help myself since I like to joke around. I promise I'll do better," she said while bowing to him.
"Make sure you do. No more stunts like this during class. This is your only warning otherwise detention."
"Yes Sensei!" replied Setsuna and sat back down. Looking at her classmates, they were giving her looks of disbelief but none of them looked to be angry. Well, most of them. A certain vine haired girl had a rather peculiar expression on her face and it was giving Setsuna some creepy vibes. Ok, what the hell? Why is she looking at me like that?! Girl needs to chill the fuck out before I knock her ass out. Moving her gaze to the next person who stood up, she pushed her thoughts about the Christian girl to the back of her mind.
Ibara was staring at Setsuna while many thoughts were going through her head. Her friend was right. This one loves to cause mischief. The way she makes Komori become red with embarrassment. How she was staring at Tsunotori with an impure look. The way she scared me and everyone else in class with her beheading. She truly has strayed from the righteous path and is full of sin. But, I will admit that she still has hope, however slight it is, for she has chosen to walk the path of a heroine. When the time comes, I will help her come back to the righteous path. And if she becomes too far gone, then by God's decree, she will have to be cleansed and if God decrees it to be me who does it, I shall do so without complaint. Making that vow in her head, Ibara moved her gaze towards the one who was introducing himself.
He was a rather short young man with a white speech bubble for his head and neck yet they could still hear him speak. Somehow while his speech bubble displayed the words he was saying. "My name is Manga Fukidashi. As you noticed, my head is that of a speech bubble, which is related to my quirk; Comic. I can materialize words in midair by speaking them and the words themselves can manifest the effects of the phenomenon that the sound suggests. Of course, I like anime, manga and comics." Pony smiled after hearing that, thinking that she could make at least one friend since they both like similar things.
After Manga sat down, the next person stood up. Having pale skin with beige colored hair, his most unusual physical feature was that his teeth sat outside his skin with no discernible lips. He cleared his throat and spoke. "My name is Juzo Honenuki. My quirk is Softening. I can soften any non living thing and I can swim through the ground once softened. I don't like losing but I will own up to my mistakes. I also know how to speak English." Pony gave him a surprised look but then smiled when he nodded at her before sitting down.
The next one to stand was a tall young man with a muscular build, yellow like skin and very large hands. His head was also shaped similar to a glue-dispenser with a lappet on top along with seven 'eye-holes'. "My n-name is Kojiro B-Bondo and my quirk is Cemedine. I-I can s-spray liquid from the h-holes in my head that is f-fast drying and g-glue-like. Thank you," he told his classmates before sitting down and holding his hands in his lap as he tried to calm down. He was more used to being quiet and not being the center of attention.
"At last, it's my turn!" stated a blonde male, standing up and looking at all his classmates with a confident smirk. "I am Neito Monoma and my quirk is Copy! I can copy most quirks by simply touching another person. I can only use them for about five minutes. But make no mistake; even though I can burrow your gifts, I truly respect you all as you all are my classmates! I want us all to achieve greatness and I want us to show everyone that they shouldn't underestimate us just because we're in the second hero class!" Finishing up with his words, Neito sat back down.
Vlad quietly sighed. And here's the other problem. Gonna have to work on his ego and inferiority complex.
A pale skinned girl with short gray hair that was parted on the right side of her face stood up while holding her hands at elbow height and draped down. "Greetings, my designated name is Reiko Yanagi. My Quirk is Poltergeist and it allows me to telekinetically control nearby objects. During my leisure time, I prefer escaping into the tales of horror told by incredible authors." Sitting back down, she was oblivious to the stares that some of her classmates were giving her due to her choice of wording.
A lightly tanned male with black hair tied into a short braided ponytail stood up. "My name is Hiryu Rin. My quirk is called Scales, which allows me to bring out reptile like scales from my skin. I can use them as armor or I can shoot them. I'm from China and I like sushi."
After he sat back down, Vlad spoke up. "Alright, that's everyone. Get along with one another as you'll be spending the next few years together. Out in the world where anything can happen, it's important to have people you can trust standing with you. Here at UA, we give you the opportunity to forge those kinds of bonds with some of your peers before heading out and facing the unknown. You'll still be able to forge these bonds with others as you become pros, but it's never too early to get started on that. Remember, no one can do everything on their own. Understood?"
"Yes Sensei!"
"Good. Now that introductions are out of the way…" He leaned over to the side and grabbed something that was behind his desk. Lifting it up and placing it on the desk, his students saw it was a large white bag. "…come get your gym uniforms. Each one is labeled so don't worry about finding the right size since they are custom made for each one of you. Grab your uniform, head to the PE grounds locker rooms, change there and meet me in the field outside it." After giving his instructions, Vlad King left the classroom as the class got up and moved to take their uniforms.

"Took you long enough," remarked Vlad as his class appeared on the PE grounds. "You must move quicker. Time is of the essence when it comes to hero work. During your time here at UA, you will learn to manage your time better. A second is all it takes to either save a life or be too late." The students all reacted at that but in different ways. Some paled, some grimaced and others gulped. Seeing that they understood, Vlad moved on from that topic. "Alright, now that we're all here, we're going to do some quirk assessment tests."
"Sensei!" called out Sen, raising his hand into the air and Vlad nodded at him to continue. "Why are we doing assessment tests now? Didn't we already pass the physical portion of the entrance exam? Didn't that show you our quirks already?" he asked and some of his classmates murmured in agreement.
"That is true," started Vlad, raising the clipboard with his hand into the air and waved it a bit while he continued speaking. "But these tests are to see where each of you is starting from. You've done these tests before in your previous schools but you've done them without the use of your quirks. This time, you're going to do the same tests but with your quirk aiding you. This way, we'll know what your base is, what you can use it for initially and from there we can help you grow," explained their homeroom teacher and Sen understood. "Any other questions?" he asked his class. No one said anything. "Good. Let's get started then. The tests you're all going to do are the following; fifty meter dash, grip strength, standing long jump, repeated side steps, ball throw, distance run, seated toe touch and sit ups. We'll start with the fifty meter dash first," stated Vlad while walking towards the area they'd be using for the first test with his class following behind him.
And so the tests began. Vlad had his students perform the fifty meter dash in groups of two. After each student sprinted through the test and got their time recorded by the sensor at the end, he jotted down their score. A few of his students pulled off impressive times, such as Juzo who swam through the ground, Pony who used her horns to fly through the air and Setsuna who also flew through the air after splitting her body apart. Some however clocked in respectable times. Several of them however were unable to fully utilize their quirk for this test and trailed behind the rest, who were Manga, Shihai, Kinoko and Kojiro.
The next test, the grip strength, revealed similar test scores. Itsuka, Jurota, Tetsutetsu and Ibara scored the highest grip ratings from their class. The former three used their increased physical abilities granted from their quirks while Ibara used her vines to wrap around the grip tester tightly many times. Some of their classmates had values that scored within very close ranges of one another that were decent. But Kinoko, Nirengeki and Yui had lower scores compared to the rest since their quirks weren't able to increase their ratings all that much.
During the third test, the standing long jump, more differences were shown between them all. Most of them were unable to fully clear the designated distance in order to 'pass' the jump. A handful fell just short while many barely cleared half of it. Only a handful was able to clear the entire jump that included Setsuna, Jurota, Pony, Nirengeki and Reiko. All three girls had basically used their quirks to fly to the other side of the jump. The taller male just used his beastly strength to completely jump over it while the shorter one used his quirk to do a 'double' jump and cleared it.
During the fourth test, the repeated side steps, once again only a few shined. Kinoko set up her mushrooms to bounce back and forth from each other with amazing speed. Ibara used her vines to rock her body back and forth quickly. Setsuna just split her legs off her body and had them fly back and forth between two spots with impressive velocity. Everyone else had average scores compared to the three girls'.
On the fifth test, the ball throw, many from the class scored pretty close to one another even with being able to use their quirks to throw the ball. The ones who sent their balls further than the rest of their peers were Itsuka, Pony, Kosei, Setsuna and Hiryu. However, there was one who was able to send her ball much further than everyone else. Reiko used her quirk to telekinetically shoot it so far away from them that they couldn't even see it anymore. Luckily Vlad had spares for the rest to use.
The sixth test, distance run, bore results that were all over the place. It wasn't surprising since the students all had varying degrees of endurance and stamina. Kinoko, Manga, Kojiro and Nirengeki had the worst constitutions out of everyone else, having dropped out of the run earlier than the rest. The only one who was able to keep going even after everyone else had called it quits was Pony. Vlad had to stop her so they could continue with the remaining tests.
On the seventh test, the seated toe touch, the results were rather one sided with what was recorded. Because like the long jump, you either could do it or you couldn't. Almost everyone passed this test, with a few being even more flexible than the rest by being able to reach past their toes. Itsuka, Yui and Setsuna were the three who were able to do so. Unfortunately, Nirengeki was the only one who couldn't reach his toes, falling an inch short and failed this test.
Last test for them to do was the sits ups. It didn't take long at all for several to call it quits. Kinoko, Nirengeki, Manga and Kojiro weren't able to keep up with their peers and stopped much earlier than the rest. The others kept going until one by one they stopped until only Itsuka, Tetsutetsu, Setsuna and Togaru remained. Drenched in sweat, the four were groaning in pain as they kept doing their sit ups while their classmates encouraged them to keep going. Togaru was the first to stop with Tetsutetsu following soon afterwards, leaving the two girls. But Setsuna couldn't compete with Itsuka's level of conditioning and was unable to go on after just five more reps. Itsuka did a dozen more sit ups than her best friend before she too finally quit.
With the quirk assessment tests finally done, the students of class 1B rested while their homeroom teacher went over their scores. Vlad was making sure everything was inputted correctly before revealing how they did. Once finished, Vlad drew their attention before speaking. "Alright everyone, here are your scores for the tests." Raising his hand that was holding a small white device, he pointed it at the nearby wall and pressed a button on it. It projected his students' names and their scores for each test onto the wall for them to see. "Now, this is what you're all starting from. This is your base line."
He noticed some of his students becoming discouraged and disappointed with themselves over their low scores and failing some of the tests. "I know what some of you must be feeling and thinking right now. But don't let your bad scores dictate how you'll do in the future. Use this to motivate yourselves to do better. Because only by learning where we're starting from, can we use that as our foundation to become stronger, faster, smarter and all around better. You got into UA with your current abilities but there's always room for improvement. But we're going to aim for much higher than just improvements. We're going to go beyond. PLUS ULTRA!" Vlad shouted the last two words.
"PLUS ULTRA!" parroted his class back.
A smile spread on Vlad's face. "Good. Keep up with that energy and you just might make it to the end. That's it for today. Once you clean up and change back into your school uniforms, head back to class and grab your syllabus and go over it. It will have important information that you'll need to know. Any questions before class is dismissed?" he asked them.
Neito raised his hand but didn't want to be called on. "Who ended up being the best in class?" he asked.
His question made his classmates wonder about that and glance at each other while Vlad's right eye twitched. Of course… "There is no best in the class Monoma. There is no point to decide that since everyone has strengths and weaknesses. The point of these exercises is to let us know where each of you is starting at so we can plan out the proper path for the most optimal growth," explained Vlad.
Many of the students thought that made sense but Neito wasn't one of them. "Vlad Sensei, we're not children here. We can handle knowing who the best in class is. Plus, it'll help us in pushing ourselves if we have someone to inspire us and develop a rivalry with," reasoned the blonde, making some his classmates agree with that.
Surprisingly, Vlad couldn't disagree since even he used that to push himself further in the past. "Monoma, you make sense with your reasons…" I'm honestly shocked. "…but there's still no best in the class." Neito and several of his students didn't look happy with that and Vlad narrowed his eyes. "Look, if you really want someone to become your rival to push yourself further, then look at your sister class, 1A. Their homeroom teacher does rankings in his class and his teaching method is different than mine. Compete against them and don't fall behind…"
"So they think that they're better than us, doing things differently and having ranks, huh?" wondered Neito out loud as he cupped his chin and looked up into the sky. "We'll show them. We'll show that just because we're in the 'B' class doesn't mean that we're second rate! We'll crush them! Hahahaha!" Neito cackled loudly, making some of his peers slowly back away from him, especially Reiko, since his behavior was scaring them.
Vlad's right eye twitched again. I should've known…egomaniac and inferiority complex…not a good mix. This is gonna be harder than I thought. "Monoma!" shot Vlad, making the blonde stop and look at his teacher. "Enough. I didn't say that for you to go crazy. Understood?"
Neito smiled in response. "Yes Sensei." No worries, I know we can't be obvious about it. But I'll make sure that we do better than them!
Vlad didn't like that look on his student but he couldn't do anything at the moment. For the love of Nezu, please don't do anything stupid Monoma. "Alright, any other questions?" he asked his class.
"Sensei, can we look at our dorms?" asked Kosei.
Vlad shook his head. "No. You have to wait till after class Friday. But remember to have your stuff ready for pickup on Wednesday." Many hands rose into the air and Vlad had an idea what they were about. "Most, if not all, questions regarding dorms will be answered in the syllabus. If there's anything else that pops up, we'll handle it after you move in. Any questions that doesn't involve the dorms?" he asked and everyone lowered their hands. Letting a smirk form on his face, Vlad wasn't surprised at that. "Alright. Now that's done, we can…" *BEEP* Getting a message notification on his faculty phone, he took it out and read it. His eyes narrowed. "Damn it Nezu…" he muttered under his breath, visibly annoyed.
"Everything alright Sensei?" asked Itsuka.
Vlad looked up towards one of his students. Putting away his phone, he cleared his throat. "Yes, everything is alright. I just have a…meeting…with the other teachers…" Noticing the curious gazes on all of his students, Vlad turned around and started leaving the PE area. "Anyways, good work today and remember to get your syllabus before going home. Class dismissed. See you tomorrow." He bade them a good day without giving them a chance to ask more questions since he had somewhere to be.
Watching their teacher leave, some of the students glanced at one another and shrugged over what just happened. But they all turned towards the locker rooms and headed towards them.

After changing out of their PE uniforms and back into their regular school uniforms, the heroes in training of class 1B went back to their homeroom. As they made their way there, most of them were talking and joking around with one another. Having become fast friends due to the tests they just did together, they were busy sharing interests, goals and many other things with each other. Only a few were keeping to themselves, either out of shyness or just preferring to be alone.
Once they reached their homeroom, each of them gathered their belongings as well as the class syllabus. Several bade their classmates a good day and left right afterwards. Some decided to exchange contact information before heading out as well. Little by little, more of them left until only a small group remained in the class who were Itsuka, Yui, Setsuna, Kinoko, Tetsutetsu and Jurota.
The six of them got along pretty well with one another and respected each other's heroic drive and good behavior. Well, mostly good behavior, since Setsuna couldn't help herself and kept teasing and messing with everyone. Poor Kinoko kept blushing up a storm. Tetsu chuckled awkwardly every now and then. And Jurota was made to stammer a few times over her relentless joking but luckily his fur was able to hide his reddened cheeks.
Yui and Itsuka were used to their friend's antics and so were practically immune to all but her most outrageous words and acts. Deciding to give a little mercy to their new friends, the two girls did what they always did to stop the green haired girl's antics.
With the red head chopping her on the top of her head while the black haired girl spoke. "Bad. Stop."
"Oww!" whined Setsuna, nursing her head.
"My gratitude Kendo-san," said Jurota, still embarrassed from what he heard Setsuna say.
"Eh, it wasn't that bad but thanks," commented Tetsu, trying his best to not look affected but failing horribly at it since his face was still flushed with color.
Kinoko however looked relieved before speaking quietly. "Mush b-better. Too mush for me…"
"Oh, so that's the kind of puns you like huh?" asked Itsuka curiously, turning to Kinoko.
The mushroom girl went crimson while letting out a squeak. Hiding her face in her hands, she was so embarrassed. I can't believe I said that out loud! They're gonna think I'm weird!
"Aw, look how adorable she is!" remarked Setsuna with a wide smile, moving to give the short girl a hug.
"Down," commanded Yui as Itsuka chopped her head again.
"Oww! Hey, quit it!"
"Then stop scaring Komori!"
"I'm not scaring her! I just want to hug her cause she's so cute!" countered Setsuna, making her target squeak again from beneath her hands. "See!"
"Even so, I think that's enough for today Set," advised Itsuka seriously, with the others voicing their agreements.
Pouting and crossing her arms over her chest, Setsuna reluctantly listened. "Okay fine, alright. I'll tone things down some," she said before sticking her tongue out at them.
Chuckling, Itsuka picked up her backpack and swung it around her shoulders to put her arms through the straps. "C'mon, let's go home everyone." Following her lead, they all put on their backpacks and left the classroom. Heading towards the building exit, they talked a bit more before Itsuka turned to Yui. "Are you getting picked up?" she asked.
"Yes," replied Yui.
"You're going straight home?" asked Tetsu and Yui nodded her head. "Oh okay. Well that sucks…"
"Oh, what's going on here?" asked Setsuna with a rather insinuating tone, unable to ignore something that she could use to mess with people. "Is someone interested in the token quiet girl?" Her question made Tetsu sputter as he tried to answer while Yui barely reacted with slightly raised eyebrows. "I mean, I can see it. Loud guy with quiet girl. Opposites attract no?" she teased.
"NO!" snapped Tetsu all of a sudden, making his friends and even Setsuna jump from being startled over his outburst. "Sorry, my bad. Didn't mean to scare you guys like that. And I didn't mean to be so rude Kodai-San," apologized Tetsu and Yui didn't say anything but gave a small nod. "I asked her that because I wanted to ask all of you if you'd like to hang out today? We could train together and maybe even spar together!" he told them, with his eyes shining and his excitement showing.
"Ah…I see." So that's what he wants, thought Setsuna. Well, might work out with Itsuka. She likes a good fight too. Damn battle junkies. I was hoping we could see opposites attract but nooooo! No quiet girl and loud guy relationship to tease…well, it is still the first day of UA… Setsuna's smirk went unnoticed.
"I would like to partake in this offer of yours Tetsu-san," stated Jurota. "I must confess that I'm interested to see how your metal can hold up against my claws. I would be grateful to find a sparring partner I don't need to worry about slashing on accident," revealed the well mannered beastly man.
"Yeah, that would be a problem, huh buddy?" stated Tetsu solemnly but then quickly changed back to his enthusiastic self. "But don't worry, I'm sure you won't be able to hurt me like that!" Jurota smiled and thanked his new friend before Tetsu faced the girls. "So, he's in. Kodai's out. What about you three?" he asked them.
Kinoko shook in her spot a bit as she answered. "Not me. Sorry."
"Sorry fellas. Don't feel like getting double teamed so early in the school year," teased Setsuna, making both Tetsu and Jurota, as well as Kinoko, turn crimson. "Maybe down the road we can do it," she added afterwards with a wink, making all three of them sputter to the point of coughing. "Hahaha! Too easy!"
Itsuka and Yui looked at each other with a look before springing into action. "Speak less," advised Yui as Itsuka once again chopped Setsuna's head.
"Owie!"
"So f-forward!" whispered the brown haired girl while holding her hands against her very red cheeks.
"T-That's not what he was implying!" shot Juorta.
"Yeah! Not manly dude!"
"But I'm a girl," answered Setsuna while nursing her head again.
"You know what I mean!"
Setsuna laughed even more as Tetsu and Jurota sighed in defeat. Calming down, she turned to the martial artist of the group. "So, what about you? Gonna go with them?" she asked.
"No, I have some things to take care of," replied Itsuka, surprising Setsuna that she would pass up an opportunity to spar with someone new. "We can train on another day."
"Alright. Sounds good! I'll hold you to it then!" said Tetsu with a grin.
Continuing on their way out of the building, the group of six friends entered the school grounds and made their way to the UA entrance barrier. Stepping out onto the sidewalk, they exchanged contact information between one another before separating. Tetsu and Jurota left together to head to the nearby gym to train and spar with one another. Kinoko left on her own, politely refusing the offer of a ride home from Kodai, saying she had plans with family and needed to catch the train to meet up with them.
After they left, the three girls waited together until Kodai's ride came in. She had to call her chauffer to pick them up since they had left school earlier than the normal end of school time. They didn't have to wait long until a black limousine rolled into view and stopped in front of them. A tall man dressed in a formal tuxedo stepped out, walked around the car and opened the door for them. Getting inside, the girls made themselves comfortable as the Kodai family's personal driver took the young heiress's friends home first before heading back to the Kodai estate.
Author's Notes - As you saw, this chapter was about class 1B, with certain characters getting more spotlight than the rest. More realistic portrayals are gonna be explored and its gonna impact how the characters respond with each other and with their sister class, 1A. I know that Izuku wasn't even mentioned at all in this chapter, but don't worry, he'll be back soon enough. So what'd you think? Would like to hear from my readers on your thoughts so please review and don't forget to fav and follow!
And I would greatly appreciate it if you can support me in becoming a full time writer and for those who do, they'll get early access to the chapters and I'll also have other special content for you.
