Izuku's been talking with Speed Demon a bit. Mainly about the protection he's trying to buy. They agreed they would meet up at their old meeting place under that overpass to talk things out a bit more. In the meantime Izuku is strolling into an empty office building. It isn't abandoned, but nobody is renting the offices right now.

"Yo Sensei." Izuku calls out.

"Top floor." a voice calls back.

Izuku strolls over to the stairs and makes his way up.

"Hey." says Izuku as he finds his on again off again sensei.

"Hey kid." says Stain, "Here to spar?"

"Maybe later. I wanted to talk to you about my personal convictions. You're pretty good about stuff like that." says Izuku.

"Go on." says Stain.

"I'm retiring." says Izuku.

Stain's lips quirk down at that.

"What a waste. You're a fighter and a good one. I've seen you tank hits that would have killed lesser men. I've seen you kill men that the average pro hero has no chance of beating. I didn't spend all that time sparring with you and teaching you, for you to quit." says Stain.

"Do you really spend that much time teaching me?" asks Izuku.

"It's not the amount of time, it's the quality." replies Stain.

"I guess that's fair." says Izuku.

"I can't understand why a man of your conviction would quit. Explain it to me." Demands Stain.

"Well… I'm not entirely sure if I'm retiring or just laying low for an extended period of time, but most of my men are dead. Killed in their own homes. If they came to my home I would probably be fine but my daughter couldn't defend herself from them at least not yet." says Izuku.

"Not yet? A successor?" asks Stain.

"No. I want her to learn how to defend herself at some point but I don't want her to be like me. I don't want her to need to know how to fight like you or I do." says Izuku.

"It's the girl from the Yakuza raid right?" asks Stain.

"Yeah." replies Izuku.

"So it's to keep her safe?" asks Stain.

"Not entirely but it's definitely the biggest contributing factor." replies Izuku.

"I know you don't think of yourself as a hero but it's in you." says Stain.

"It might have been at one point." says Izuku.

"Hmm. You're doubting yourself." says Stain.

"I know for a fact that I have killed people that did not deserve it. Maybe they actually did, but I don't think so." says Izuku.

"I think you value these criminals too much. They don't give, they only take. Even what you consider petty criminals deserve it. Still it's commendable how much you value life." says Stain.

"Maybe… but do you think I should keep going? I've done so much. It feels like I'm going against my principles by retiring. I know I've told you I believe that citizens can and should work against criminals. If everyone is a threat to criminals there are no criminals, that kind of thing." says Izuku.

"Perhaps but I still think you hold to your convictions. I recall you making a promise to that girl that nobody would hurt her again. It looks to me like you're just keeping a promise." says Stain.

"Yeah… I should be a man of my word even if it forces me to retire." says Izuku.

"Glad I could help with that." says Stain, "Wanna head to the roof to spar?"

"Sure." says Izuku.

They start to walk up the stairs to the roof.

"By the way, I'm still going to U.A's hero course. I don't know if I'll stay. I just thought you'd like to know." says Izuku.

"I thought you said that you don't feel like a hero anymore." says Stain.

"I don't but maybe I will again. I still might drop out if it doesn't click." says Izuku.

Stain just hums as they come out onto the roof.

Izuku pulls out Giaguaro's dagger, the one that turns into a rapier and stain unsheathes his katana. They don't say anything, they just start fighting. Stain uses his katana and array of knives. Izuku switches back and forth between his axe and his rapier. Izuku is stronger and faster but stain is the more skilled of the two. He manages to redirect the force of Izuku's swings. It's a good fight for both of them. Izuku manages to stay toe to toe with Stain for almost 10 minutes before Stain's katana is pressed against his throat.

They spar a few more times with the same end result. Izuku ends up going home as Stain leaves to go hunting. After Izuku gets home and settles in, he gets a text from Kurogiri. It's an address.

'It seems to be living here for the time being' Kurogiri Sends.

'I'm on it' replies Izuku.

Authors Note

Hey, sorry that this one is a little short I just wanted to get something out for the weekend. Next chapter is going to be a fight with the Nomu but you could probably figure that out.

Dsman: It's actually kind of funny to imagine Shigaraki just completely pissed at this absolutely cracked player and its just Eri on the other side.
