Tell me your secrets
That you hide from me
Sit down beside me
Tell me what to see
Show me the way
Into your heart
Although we're never near
We'll never be apart

I sat on the edge of the pond. Sure it was inviting danger sitting that close…but I just felt like it today. Just your normal, average Sunday afternoon, skipping rocks on the pond. I vaguely wondered what the Koi would taste like, were I to eat them. That was, I wondered until _she_ came out of the house. White shorts, yellow t-shirt. She had a walkman strapped by her side. She didn't notice me as she danced and sung around the yard, a smile on her face. I got up, sneaking behind her. She didn't hear me, the music was too loud. And then...
I attacked.
"BOO!"
"WAAAAAAAAAAAII!" An elbow came crashing down on my head.
"DON"T DO THAT! Ranma no BAKA!" She turned and yelled at me, but I could see the smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. I smirked.
"Going somewhere, Akane?"
"For a walk..." She turned, her nose in the air as she looked at me suspiciously. It had the rather funny effect of her going cross-eyed. I couldn't help but laughed, she looked too cute.
"Mind if I join you?" I asked, holding the gate open for her.
"_If_ you promise to behave..." Flirting...I liked it. I gave her a grin as I walked out after her.
We ended up in the park. Yeah, we had a nice day. I don't know where Shampoo or Ucchan were, but blissfully, there were no interruptions for the day. We ate ice-cream sundaes, played on the swings. Maybe, just maybe it was...a good time. First time she hasn't hit me with that mallet of hers. Walking on the sidewalk, the sun falling softly on her hair...a red butterfly hovered behind her. Shooting my hand out, I caught it, carefully holding it in my hands.
"Hold out your hands." She looked up at me suspiciously, but held out her hands. I pressed the butterfly into her hands, a tingle running up my arms when my hands touched hers. She smiled at me, then I took my hands away, blushing. The butterfly rested in her hands, flapping it's wings. Akane's mouth made a cute little O of surprise, which stretched into the most beautiful grin I've ever seen as she raised her hands to the sky and let it fly free. Turning to look at me, she slid her arm into mine, and we walked home into the fading sun.
