Chapter 24 – Welcome to the family, part I

Carrie's POV

I am Laurie Strode West-Vega. I am the oldest daughter of Tori Vega and Jade West. I have two sisters, Carrie and Alice. If you haven't guessed, I'm named after Laurie Strode, from the Horror film Halloween. In keeping with that theme, my sister Carrie White West- Vega, is named after the main character in the horror film Carrie and Alice Hardy West-Vega, is named after the main character in the horror film Friday the 13th. The names were obviously my mama Jade's idea, her being the horror fanatic she is. I'm not sure how she convinced my mama Tori into choosing these names, but I'm sure she thought of a way to win her over.

"THUD!"

I quickly looked to the sound, to see that mama Tori had fainted and hit the floor. Normally, mama Jade would be quick to notice her wife fainting, but at the moment she was doing too good of an imitation of a statue to notice. In fact, she seemed not to notice anything.

I grunted and turned to Alice "You little shit. Congratulations, but you're still a shit. God help you when our moms snap out of it.

I looked to Carrie. "Go get the smelling salts. They're….

"in the bathroom cabinet….I know." Replied Carrie, as she vanished into the hallway.

"Mama Tori!" called out Alice, as she and Kendra rushed over and pulled her off the floor and onto the couch.

"Is she Ok, Ali?" I asked as I started to check out mama Jade.

"Yeah, see seems fine. She'll be ok."

"No thanks to you."

Mama Jade was still standing there, frozen in place, a look of shock on her face. I waved my hand in front of her eyes, but nothing happened. I was about to slap her in the face, to snap her out of it, when she abruptly burst into tears"

Seemingly oblivious to Tori, who was still passed out on the couch, she wailed, "My baby is married"

She then, sobbing her eyes out and saying something incomprehensible, hugged Alice, then Kendra.

Then she vanished into the hallway, just as Carrie was coming back into the room.

"Carrie" I said, "got the smelling salts."

"Yeah."

"Ok, wake up Mama Tori. And make sure she didn't hit her hear or anything."

"Who put you in charge!" She snapped as, I knew perfectly well, she hated being bossed around.

I held up a closed fist and said, "This, put me in charge." That was something my mama Jade had done to us a number of times, only she never struck any of us. Usually, a cold harsh glare was all my mama Jade needed, to make us behave.

Carrie shot me back a quick glare and went to attend to mama Tori.

I turned to Kendra and shook her hand. "Congratulations, if you want to flee in terror, I wouldn't blame you for a second. Oh and by the way, Ali snores and wet…."

"Finish that sentence Laurie and it will be the last thing you ever say." Growled Alice.

By this time Mama Jade, returned to the room, holding something. She said something that I couldn't understand as she was still sobbing her eyes out."

Walking up to Kendra, she placed pair of red scissors, her 4th favorite, and gently placed them in her hand. Jade then gave Kendra a huge hug.

Kendra looked at the scissors with a look of puzzlement and then back at Alice. "Scissors?"

Ali smiled and said, "Those are her 4th favorite. She's saying welcome to the family."

Before Kendra could respond, Mama Tori who had been awaken by the smelling salts stood up, burst into tears and screamed. "YOU STOLE MY BABY!"

Looking at me with a shrug, Carrie said. "Wasn't this her idea in the…."

"Yeah I know."

Mama Jade then got right in Mama Tori's face and barked. "How dare you speak to our newest daughter like that."

"She stole my baby!"

Jade then turned red and then lightly knocked on Tori's head. "Hello McFly, she's my baby too. Or don't you remember me all fat and sick while I carried her."

"It doesn't matter, she stole our baby."

"It's all your fault then." Jade screamed.

"My fault?" Retorted Tori incredulously,

"Yeah, YOU SEDUCED ME. If it wasn't for you, I would have murdered my 3rd husband by now. I even had Beck's death all planned out, it would have totally looked like an accident."

The argument continued, and instinctively, Carrie, Alice and I backed off.

Most of it was mama Tori being irrationally upset because, Kendra stole her daughter and Mama Jade calling her a hypocrite, an idiot and a succubus. There were a good number of insults thrown back at mama Jade by Mama Tori.

Kendra then poked Alice. "Baby, shouldn't we do something?"

"About?"

"The argument." Kendra replied with a worried expression.

Alice shook her head. "God NO! Our mama's love each other intensely and occasionally argue just as intensely, we also know better than to get between them. Don't worry. It will be over soon."

We all stood and watched the argument, which showed no signs of ending. Tori seemed to not be backing down from her argument that Kendra stole Alice.

Kendra then smiled, "I know what to do."

Before my sisters and I could stop Kendra from doing something we would consider most unwise, she gently tapped Mama Tori on the shoulder.

Mama Tori turned and glared at her with a look of almost murderous hatred and was about to say something when Kendra gently put her arm around her. Then in a soft soothing voice, began to talk.

"Mama Tori, May I call you mama Tori."

Mama Tori, who obviously didn't expect that stood there paralyzed, though still rather angry looking.

Not missing a beat, Kendra continued.

"I am such a big fan of your music. I have all your albums and you are so Beautiful."

Kendra then lowered her voice slightly and spoke. "Even more beautiful than Mama Jade. But she's super pretty as well. I also saw Trina's last comedy special, on comedy Central. You are a thousand times prettier than her."

Before my eyes, I could see the anger melt off of Tori's face, Kendra had exploited my mama Tori's greatest weakness, her vanity. At the same time, she exploited the endlessly running argument, between my mama's over who is more pretty. Clever Girl.

"You and Jade were wonderful mothers and produced three smart, beautiful, daughters, one of which I'm going to spend my life with."

I turned to Alice. "You coached her, didn't you?"

"Actually, she means it. I merely helped fine tune her approach."

I looked to mama Jade who looked a bit put off by Kendra saying that Tori was more beautiful. Without missing a beat, Alice walked up and whispered, "She thinks you're the most beautiful, she's only winning Mama Tori over."

Satisfied, Jade smirked and sat down, while Kendra kept up the compliments. She then moved on to telling Tori how her plan was a work of sheer genius and was super happy that it was done on her as she now had her soul mate.

It was working as after another minute or two, Tori hugged Kendra and happily said to Jade, "Now we have four daughters. I always wanted a fourth daughter. Welcome to the family Kendra."

Carrie who had been standing off to the side, looking a bit impatient suddenly barked. "Now would someone tell me, just what the fuck happened! Oh and by the way, welcome to our insane family Kendra."

Alice went and quickly took Kendra's hand. "Ok, yes. Some explaining is in order. How about we all take a minute to compose ourselves. It was a bit of a shock. I have to use the bathroom anyway. "

She then giggled and turned to Kendra. "Come on."

Then with a similar giggle, Kendra nodded and they ran upstairs.

No One's POV

After a moment of stunned silence, Carrie turned to Laurie and held out her hand. "Pay up Sis. Twenty Dollars. I don't take check, visa, master card, crypto currency or pay pal. Solid Cash."

Looking a bit miffed, Laurie pulled a 20 reached into her purse, which was on a nearby table, extracted a 20-dollar bill and handed it over to Carrie.

"You two made a bet?" Said Jade.

"Yeah." Said both Carrie and Laurie in unison.

Carrie then gave a Jade like smirk as she stuffed the 20 in her pocket. "What's ever better, Aunt Trina owes me 50."

Tori shook her head and walked into the kitchen, mumbling, "I need wine"

Jade turned to her daughters and grunted. "You two are something else. Since my make up is ruined because I was crying, I'm going to wash up."

Exiting the room, Jade walked to the downstairs bathroom and washed off her makeup. Though she managed to compose herself, she still felt extremely emotional. There was only one thing she needed at the moment.

Done in the bathroom, she walked into the kitchen where she found Tori, pouring wine into several glasses that were on a silver tray. Wordlessly, she walked over and took her wife into a hug.

The hug was long, silent and tender and greatly needed by both of them. After the hug broke, Jade look Tori in the eyes and smiled.

"I love you Tori Vega!"

Blushing, Tori smiled back. "I love you Jade West."

Jade then moved in and gave Tori a loving kiss.

"My beautiful Wife."

Tori gave Jade another kiss in return and repeated he same words. "My beautiful Wife"

Not needing any prompting, the pair hugged once again. It was a huge moment for them and while they were happy, they both felt the odd need to reaffirm their love.

"Thank you for coming to my door Tori." Jade whispered softly. "Thank you for being brave. Thank you for being beautiful, thank you for being tender. My heart belongs to you, forever."

"Hey, where's the wine?" Came Alice's Voice from the other room, breaking the moment.

Picking up the tray, Tori and Jade returned to the living room, for a much-needed explanation.
