The Winter Princess.
Ritsuka laid down in Morgan's chamber, his head hurting like never before, all he wanted was to have some rest, but as luck would have it, rest would be the one thing that he wouldn't get.
"Hey, small fry! Wake up!" - a high pitched voice spoke to him, or rather, yelled at him.
Opening his eyes, he came face to face with a girl wearing a red dress, her bright crimson hair going all the way to her waist.
Baobhan Sith.
"Hey, I'm telling you to wake up! You're my father right? You're supposed to listen when your daughter calls for you!" -
"This isn't…" -
"Mother's busy with something, and since she doesn't want to be disturbed, I decided to come check on you on her behalf. Since last time you were left alone you tried to escape" -
"That wasn't…" -
"Anyways, before Mother left she told us Fairy Knights that she wants us to spend time with you while she's busy, so here I am. Now come with me, there's a new clothing shop I want to check out" -
Ritsuka wanted to stay in bed, so he said nothing and instead turned away from Sith, angering the girl.
"Hey! What the hell do you think you're doing?" - she grabbed him by the arm and pulled him out of bed with ease, showing the superior strength that Fae had over humans - "I said, let's go!" -
Seeing that he wouldn't get his peace until she was satisfied, Ritsuka decided to play along for the moment, not like he had any other choice on the matter.
"Fine, let's go" - he said as he got up from the bed, with Baobhan Sith immediately grabbing him by the arm and pulling him out of the castle.
While on their way, Ritsuka couldn't help but go back to the dream she had, that girl in the white hallways calling out to him, calling him 'Senpai'. He felt like he knew that voice, and he whispered…
"Mash…" -
"Huh? Said something, small fry?" -
"N-No, I was just remembering something -
"Really? Are your memories of your past with Mother finally coming back?" - she asked without looking at him, while thinking about how Morgan wanted her to fake him being her father.
She didn't like it, but it was to help her mother's goals, so she would stomach it.
"I think, but I can't really tell…" -
"Well, better get them back and fast, it would make Mother really happy" -
"I know, and I want Morgan to be happy but it's not like I can control it, flashes of my past just come and go and I can't control it" -
"Hm, whatever. Just do your best and don't you dare to make Mother sad" -
The father-daughter pair arrived at the clothing shop that Sith wanted to check out. It had just recently opened, and it was filled with high ranking Fae testing new dresses, shoes and others.
"Ah, it looks absolutely beautiful. Come with me, there are some things I want to check something out" -
"What is it?" -
Baobhan Sith dragged Ritsuka deeper into the store, seeing a pair of bright red shoes with rather… Pointy heels.
"This is amazing! Even a small fry like you could tell how good they look!" -
Ritsuka took a good look at the heels, and while he didn't exactly like how pointy they were, almost like little daggers, the color really matched Sith's own, a perfect blood-like crimson.
"You're right, I think it would fit you Sith" -
The girl for a second was stunned, as hearing the compliment coming directly from him was a bit of a surprise for her, and caught her off guard.
"I mean, the color really suits you, and they look cute like you. You should take them" -
Being called 'cute' by him made Sith a lot more confused, yet she could tell that he wasn't lying, he was being sincere with her.
"Huh, guess I'm starting to see why Mother likes you. Fine, I'll take it. Follow me, we still have a few stores to get through" -
"Wait, a few? You said it was only one" -
"It was one when we left the castle, but on the way here I saw a few that were new as well, and I want to check them out. If you're my Father, you should make sure your daughter is safe, right?" -
Ritsuka simply sighed and then followed Sith as she left with the shoes on, but right as they were about to enter another store that the girl wanted to visit, they were suddenly stopped by one of Morgan's soldiers.
"Fairy Knight Tristan! Reports have been coming in of rebels getting close to Camelot! They're hiding in the forest, and Queen Morgan wants you to take care of them as soon as possible!" -
"Huh, and here I thought this would be just a shopping day for me. Hey Father, come with me, you'll get to see your daughter in action!" -
"What kind of rebels are we talking about?" - Ritsuka asked to the soldier.
"A group of humans that rebelled against their Lords and killed a group of high ranking Fae. They amassed a large following and are heading over to Camelot" -
"What's the matter? Human or not they're going against Mother's rule, and thus they have to be dealt with. I'm glad I'm the one that gets to do it" -
"Don't kill them" -
"Huh?" -
"King? What are you talking about?" -
"If they're humans I want to hear what they have to say. They may have been falsely accused of such acts" -
"But King, why should we hear the words of humans such as them?" -
"Because I'm a human as well, and if my race is the one being judged, then I have to be there, take us there" -
The soldier stood still for a few seconds in shock, but he had to obey his orders. After all, he was King - "Fine, follow me, I have information of the whereabouts of the location of the human rebels" -
As they left Camelot, Sith was a bit angry to say the least, as she didn't share Ritsuka's views on humans, yet for her mother's sake, she'd keep up appearances. After all, he wouldn't dare to disappoint her.
Deep below Camelot…
Morgan looked at the magic circle in front of her with annoyed eyes. For such an experienced mage as herself, this shouldn't be a problem, yet she was struggling with her newest spell, and it was slowly getting to her.
"Just for how long will I need to keep trying?" - she said as she closed her eyes and the magic circle's light stopped shining - "Perhaps… My life force alone isn't enough for this…" -
