Chapter 59- Black Adam

Earth-50

Billy Batson aka Shazam had sensed it in his mind, and later it had been confirmed to him by Doctor Fate as well- Teth-Adam had escaped from his confinement at the hands of the Wizard Shazam and his Council of Wizards at last.

And now, he would come for Billy due to him being the true successor and worthy owner of the power.

Billy remembered Shazam telling him of Teth-Adam, of how he was a Champion that had been chosen recklessly, then accidentally released the Seven Deadly Sins onto the world for revenge, due to which millions of lives had been lost, and civilizations had been erased.

Well, Billy hoped Teth-Adam could be stopped if they encountered each other, since he knew the guy won't be playing nice when they met considering what Billy knew about him so far.

Doctor Fate had told him a little more, but right now, they were simply on the lookout for the guy really.

Billy was trying to avoid really super-powered fights right now though, for in The Contest of Champions, where all of them had been brainwashed and made to fight each other, the Clark Kent of Earth-38 had fought him, and eventually defeated and even killed him, until his resurrection by the Grandmaster who had been resurrecting all of them as well to keep his supply of gladiators endless.

While he did not blame Kent for what had happened to him, the whole ordeal had been traumatizing, and he still felt the punches, and especially the Heat Vision drilling into his eyes.

All of this came to him in nightmares as well. His family was there for him though, fortunately, and the Justice League too made sure to remember that underneath the power, he was a child, and needed help and comfort over what had gone down with him.

So, all in all, while he was slowly improving his mental condition, things would be better for him due to all of them being there for him after the ordeal he had been through, and it said a lot because they too had been through similar ordeals under the Grandmaster.

Suddenly, he felt something near him, a similar power, and something blurring, before he turned around to see Teth-Adam now standing before him. He was a bald man in a dark suit and a cape, and he was glaring at Shazam, not looking very pleased.

And he wouldn't be, for obvious reasons, as in his eyes, Billy Batson had taken what rightfully belonged to him, that being the power of the Wizard, for in his eyes, only he was the Champion, and anyone else having the power would be blasphemy.

"Uhh, hi?" Shazam greeted Black Adam awkwardly with a wave. "Can we talk this out? Like, I know you're mad due to having been imprisoned for a long time but-"

"That power is my right, and mine alone." Black Adam now finally declared at last very firmly, as if it was the truth.

Shazam still tried to talk it out before it came to blows. "Listen, cue ball, anyone ever tell you sharing is caring?"

Black Adam simply said to him. "If you share, then you starve, if you starve, you are weak, and if you are weak, you are dead."

Shazam's jaw was dropped. "...you are really intense."

"You blather like a fool."

"Hey! Watch it big, tall, scary, very muscular superpowered dude...I forgot what I was trying to say."

"You were about to die."

"Yes, I was about to-wait, what?"

And then Black Adam flew at him, punching him and grabbing his throat before hurling him away onto an island nearby, causing everything to shake while a crater was formed where Shazam fell.

Black Adam flew after him, hovering in the air. "I did not spend so many years in imprisonment just to have my successor be a man-child."

Shazam sat up with a groan, standing up fully soon, as he hurled a giant boulder at Black Adam, only for Black Adam to destroy it with lightning before Shazam flew up to fight him.

Black Adam tried to kick, Shazam dodging before getting an elbow to the face that sent him down. Shazam flew back to fight with a lightning enhanced punch but Shazam dodged an elbowed his chest, then punched his face, and then his gut before giving him an uppercut.

Before Shazam could recover, Black Adam kicked him hard, sending him flying downwards, but he recovered in time and flying back up, punched Black Adam hard on the face, now sending him flying back as well.

And then, Shazam flew at him from behind, grabbing him by the waist, trying to restrain him, though Black Adam kept elbowing Shazam's head in an attempt to free himself.

At that moment, Shazam flipped Black Adam over his head into the water below, causing a few waves to rise up before Black Adam fell onto the land nearby, groaning.

As he got up, Shazam landed near him, ready to fight more. Black Adam leapt with a punch, as Shazam backed to avoid while the punch broke the ground due to Adam's strength and lightning.

Then Shazam picked up a boulder and hurled it at Black Adam, only for Black Adam to destroy it with another punch that had lightning coming off of it.

But using the opportunity, Shazam sped behind Black Adam and grabbed him by the waist, lifting him up and flipping him over his head down to the ground.

Then grabbing Black Adam by the back of the collar, Shazam punched his face twice, before punching his gut twice, only for Black Adam to block the next blow and elbow Shazam's face and chest, and then headbutt him.

Next, Black Adam tried to punch Shazam but he blocked, and then Shazam tried to punch as Black Adam blocked, their fingers now interlocked as lightning came off of both of them, Shazam's being a pure white and Black Adam's being a dark gold.

They roared, the ground cracking from their power before both were pushed back by their own power clashing with the other's.

Before Shazam could recover though, Black Adam lifted him by the throat and slammed him hard to the ground, before punching his face, then doing it again twice, pounding Shazam in anger, blood splattering onto his face with each blow now.

"GIVE! ME! THE POWER!"

He slammed both fists onto Shazam's face hard, causing a massive shockwave which sent the waves flying high as the trees nearby were uprooted and a lot of dust rose over the whole place.

Shazam's face was bloodied now and he was barely conscious. Getting up, Black Adam lifted Shazam over his head and cried out. "SHAZAM!"

A dark gold bolt of lightning struck Shazam, as Black Adam then dropped him to the floor, smoke covering the area while Teth-Adam looked down at his defeated foe, reaching out and grabbing him by the fucking throat.

Only, the smoke cleared, and now Black Adam saw it was just a child. A hurt, scared boy looking at him in absolute terror, and made Black Adam freeze.

He dropped Billy to the ground, now staring at his hands in utter horror, as they were stained with the blood of a child. A child just like Hurut.

"What have I done?"

A tear escaped his eye as he flew off into the sky, Billy watching him when suddenly, Doctor Fate appeared next to him, and then Clark was on his other side.

"Billy, are you all right?" Clark asked, kneeling to the young boy. "Did he-"

"I'm all right", Billy said, rubbing his face. "Or at least I think I will be."

"Teth-Adam has shown himself at last", Doctor Fate commented.

"We will have to take him down", Clark immediately said.

"One thing though", Billy suddenly said. "When he saw I was a kid he stopped and left."

"He feels he deserves the power, but now, I do not think he is so sure", Doctor Fate noted.

"Doesn't mean he is not a threat", Clark pointed out.

"You do raise a good point, perhaps we should meet with him once", Doctor Fate finally said. "I know where he would be now."

Later, Kahndaq

The Justice League, alongside Shazam and Doctor Fate, found Black Adam hovering in the sky, looking down at the place he once used to rule.

"I became king, to liberate them all, so that my wife and child could have a good life", he said sadly, thinking about those days. "Then, they were killed, and I decided to liberate everything. I didn't see how it would work out, I just wanted to end it all for them, I thought it would be a blessing for everyone. But then the Council of Wizards imprisoned me, and I got rageful, I got bitter. I believed I was the only one worthy of the power, so I was determined to take it back the day I escaped."

He turned around, and in his eyes, they saw genuine remorse for what he had done. He looked at Shazam, slowly moving towards him as Shazam flinched, visibly frightened, and backed off a bit, as the rest of the Justice League had their guards up.

The non-flyers were standing on pads made by Hal Jordan for them.

But Doctor Fate raised a hand, and they followed, standing down for now as Black Adam reached Shazam, stroking his head.

"And then, I hurt a little child, one who truly was pure of heart. I became what I was supposed to be against when I hurt you, and for that, I apologize."

Shazam did not know how to respond to that now, and was silent for a few seconds, before finally saying. "Uhhh, apology accepted?"

Black Adam shook his head and hovered away again. "Now, I do not know what to do."

"I just want to know one thing", Detective said bluntly as Black Adam turned to look at him now. "Are you a threat?"

Black Adam narrowed his eyes. "Only if you make me."

"If you hurt any innocents or come after Billy again, we will come for you", Hal told Black Adam immediately. "If you do not do any of those, we should be good."

"I don't plan on doing those", Black Adam said to him.

"Good", Prince nodded. "If you do not step on our toes, we will not step on yours either."

"This liberation you're going to do for your country though", Cyborg said. "What are you going to do there?"

"I was planning to do it like I did before, but now I feel things are not so simple", Black Adam noted grimly.

"That's not wrong actually", Barry-Blue said. "Things are very different from when last you were around, pal."

"Now whether that's a good or bad thing, that's up to your decision", Martian Manhunter added from his end.

"Just try not to do anything stupid or wrong", Supergirl told him. "Because then we would have to fight you."

"I assure I will do my best", Black Adam simply told them.

"I will be keeping an eye on you", Doctor Fate now told Black Adam. "I do believe you can be better, but I need to be careful."

Black Adam didn't like it, but had a feeling he couldn't do anything about it either, so he shrugged. "Fair enough."

"We will be around", Clark told Black Adam, who nodded.

"I know", he said, looking at Shazam one last time, and giving him a nod. After a moment, Shazam nodded back.

Later

Shazam, back in his Billy form, returned home, seeing his family waiting for him, and he embraced all of them happily.

Months later

Black Adam was now watching over Kahndaq, having become a superhero for the country. A ruthless one, but still a hero.

An ankh appeared next to him, and then Doctor Fate was there. "Hello, Teth-Adam."

"What brings you here?" Black Adam inquired.

"A threat to the Multiverse has come, the greatest one", Doctor Fate said to him. "We need all the help we can get."

"I would help", Black Adam said. "But you see, if its going to be the end, I want to be protecting my country in the last moments."

Doctor Fate knew this was the response he would get, but it did not hurt to try. "Fair enough."

"Good luck to all of you", Black Adam told him.

"Good luck to you as well", Doctor Fate replied before disappearing with another ankh.

Eventually, Black Adam fought many Shadow Demons but the Universe was destroyed by the Anti-Monitor, him included. But he died for his country, like he wanted to.

And that's the story of DCEU Black Adam in my 'Heroes' series, and of course it will be Dwayne Johnson playing him.

He didn't appear in Crisis so I decided I should explain that as well. Its the typical 'honor before reason' stuff.
