To Russian Concrete I just said in the last chapter you're free to translate this story but you apparently didn't read that chapter you looked at the one just before it, I don't know how else to contact you, I can't PM you because you don't have a PM button on your profile and you don't have any stories of your own so I can't leave you a review on your own stories so I don't know how else to tell you if you won't read the chapters with the message.
For a few moments the two young mutants stood frozen just staring at the two old humans...
But then Arctica acting on her instincts of wolf 'etiquette' just fdlopped onto the ground with her belly exposed and her tail between her legs, how wolves show other wolves they don't want to fight.
"Please have mercy!" Arctica said "We poor creatures just want to live our lives and not hurt anyone! We'll be on our way just please don't tell anyone you saw us!"
But the two humans seemed instantly calmed by the fact these Mutants could spek intelligently, the old man narrowed his eyes when he noticed the collars around their necks.
"You must have escaped from Feral's lab..." The old man said "...Impressive, you're the first mutants I've ever seen who's managed to escape...You must be a special breed of mutant..."
"You must be tired and hungry." The old woman said "Would you like to come in for lunch?"
Well Don was stunned, not only did they know of the existance of mutant animals, he seemed to be VERY familiar he knew what Feral did with them...Whoever these humans were...Maybe they would be a good source of information..."
Well Don smiled at Arctica and with that they followed the two humans into their house for lunch.
The woman had made some Quiche Lorraine, that morning, so the four of them sat down at the kitchen table with slices of quiche.
Having had very little the previous few days, both Don and Arctica devoured their quiche slices like wild animals.
"Oh man!" Don said between bites "I know we've made jokes about quiche being Yuppie food or girly brunch food but after two days of nothing but slop this is one of the best things I've ever eaten!"
"I've had quice many times before..." Arctica said "...I know it has a reputation as snobby fancy food but that doesn't make it any less delicious!"
After finishing their lunch, they took a moment to digest "I hope you don't mind me asking..." Don said "...But how did you learn of mutant animals? We don't alarm you in the slightest?"
"Learned about Mutants in my army days..." Said the old man "...Learned they're one of the many strange things in the world, but I 've always been the kind to accept it, I know this old world is full of magic and by magic I mean things science still can't adequtely explain like how during birth the placenta always comes after the baby that's one thing that's fasinated a friend of mine, me I've always been fasinated by crystals and how they grow they're like living creatures."
Don stroked his chin as he thought about what the Old Man was saying,
"You two are lucky..." The old man said "...Saw on the news that Feral had to delay his return to America today because of 'Further Negotiations' with the Saudi Oil Barons I saw on his face he was not happy with the delay showing he knows something's up but can't do anything about it, now listen what you two need is to get those collars off, I can do that for you and find a safe place to dispose of those collars so you can be on your merry way, I don't have any anesthesia but you should need it, just a few moments of slight pain as I get those collars unbolted from your neck and stich up the wounds..."
"You'd do that for us?" Don couldn't believe their luck
The old man laughed "Please! It's my pleasure to do something to mess with that slimeball Feral!"
So the Hermit actually knows quite a bit more than he's letting on but doesn't say it because he doesn't want to freak the two young Mutants out stuff about how the Mutant Population rises until their numbers get to large to be ingnored and there tends to be a great 'extermination' leaving only a few survivors and then the Mutant Population rises again from both experiments and mutagen spills
