Raging Sorrow

Knothole has been a bit too quite the past few months ever since Eggman was captivated and the incident that everyone knows but few that might find out soon. Now, wreckage can be heard in the central part of Knothole. Sally must have given commands to do so and to keep wherever incidents that happened before as confidential as possible.

"I was with him this whole time and he hasn't harmed anyone and he doesn't appear to work for Eggman Now" Tails tries to defend his companion as he is now being transported to a well secured prison.

"But he still has to pay for what he's done."

"For what he did over a month ago? He already suffered enough ever since I met him"

Sally was about to answer back but she felt...guilty? If only she spoke to the truth to the young fox, yet, it wouldn't be much helpful as it will eventually harm him.

Once arriving to a prison only specialized for the strongest villans such as himself, he was placed with a different set of cuffs, ones that are more high tech and securing his hands. He is forced to obey the guards to step forward because he knows he has no match against an army of guards. Robots are different because he did not have to deal with harming live beings.

Right when he got in, he collapsed to his knees first and to his face on the floor with no sign of warning.

"Hey! Get Up!!" one of the guards beside him asked "Hello?"

He is seen breathing hard as though he is suffocating in a room full of heavy smoke. His vision has started to daze him and his hearing is nothing but an eerie high pitch beep as he has no clue what the guards are saying.

One of the guards came up and tried to shake him to get his senses but they felt a strong burning by one touch of the wolf's shoulder that felt like heated metal. They later saw a reddish glow surround the wolf's body as it makes it more difficult for him to breathe.

"What is this?"

(In FF Headquarter)

"PRINCESS SALLY ACCORN, I REPEAT, THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH YOUR RECENT PRISIONER. THE ENERGY HE POSSESSES APPEARS TO BE INCREASING ASTOUNGINGLY."

"How is this possible!?"

"I told you it wasn't a good idea to put that collar on him, Sally" Tails told her from before, "Holding in that much power at once can over-power the device to its limits"

"We have to stop him!"

"He shouldn't even be sent to prison, Sally"

"Why is that?"

"Because, Sally, he has no memories of anything whatsoever, perhaps he has a concussion."

"That's what he wants you think"

"No! This is serious. When I scanned him for the source of energy he carries, I also found that it's something more than a memory loss but I'm not exactly sure what the answer is but he is in trouble. I know what we saw just now but there IS good in him that can help us fight against Eggman's next plans."

"So what you are saying is, he's not the enemy?"

"Exactly"

"How long can you guys handle our prisoner?" calling from her comlink

"NOT LONG ENOUGH--AHH!"

"What's going on guys...?" the blue hedgehog said in a tired, gloomy way as though he couldn't forget what the team had done.

"Never mind that, Sonic. You really need to rest," Sally said, "We could handle this"

"No, I'm coming with you"

"What!?"

"Evil or not, he saved my butt from Eggman. The least I can do is help."

"Even if we get there, it will already be too late."

"Perhaps if I can make it over there with a couple of seconds of spare, we could still make it over there on time before anything else happens"

"Alright. Nichole, secure the barrier around...I forgot Rotor and Chuck is still fixing her" she slapped her forehead and she rushed towards Sonic without any second to lose.

Nero...

The collar may be able to 'hold the user's strength and ability', but is it able to withstand a user's energy? Come to think of it. Imagine having the faucet running as the energy Nero has. An impenetrable cork may be able to stop it but will be able to sustain that much water while running?

The wolf starts to scream in pain as he couldn't take what is causing this unusual feeling. He tries to force himself off the ground as much as he could with those cuffs on the way.

A cling was heard from the wolf's collar as a piece fell. Little by little, the collar starts to form tiny cracks around his collar as the more he screams in pain, the more he gets redder.

The collar had reached its limits as it shattered free the wolf, along with a large amount of energy that blew the guards back. He managed to break his cuffs with enough force as he started to transform.

Nero grew sharper claws, fangs, and a malicious look and appearance as his eyes changed colors from emerald to crimson red. He howled aggressively as the negative energy surged within him.

"FIRE!!" a Sergeant yelled as a group of guards aimed and shot the wolf.

The wolf swiftly dodged the bullets as though they appeared to be in slowmo. He feels the hyperactive energy surging within. Although, some ammos were able to hit him but realized that he was immune. Almost as though his chaos energy has created a shield around his body that even bigger explosions do not bother him. With such rage, his glowing red chaos energy starts to grow even brighter. He burst out a scream as he created a similar chaos blast that took down the entire troops.

Nero was scared out of his mind. He has no idea what sort of power he is possessing. He does not wish to fight. Not in the state of insanity. These soldiers before him only tried to defend themselves. He knelt down defenseless as he tried to regain his normal state.

Suddenly, the wolf is interrupted by a shot that was given by an injured soldier on the back. His mind shot up, furious that he let his guard down thinking the battle was over. Failing to understand the innocence of these soldiers, he grabbed hold of the soldier that shot him at light speed by the collar and held him onto the air.

"P-please no!," The soldier was glared at by a pair of murderous red eyes and sharp fangs.

He was getting ready to claw his prey with his other hand until he felt a force that made him hit the far side of the wall, letting go of the soldier.

"Dude! You need it to keep it together" the blue hedgehog asks as he holds Nero pinned to a wall.

"I'm trying!!! Let go!!! RrrrAaaahh!!!" He threw the blue hedgehog across the hall as he let out all his rage to punch a very thick metal wall until he left a crater in a matter of seconds. He managed to actually break through the steel wall where the outside is revealed.

Although, he doesn't feel tired from all his rage he released. It was still not enough to revert to his normal state. What is it that he needs to stop this? He heard a female yelling and quickly saw she was armed with neon blue blades. Reacting on time, he was able to dodge her attacks by bending back and backing away from her second attack.

Tails is worried how the results might turn out. Quickly guiding the injured soldiers to safety as he reached back to Sonic to make sure he was alright.

"Nero! Please stop" the princess asks, "You can't run from your mistakes for this long"

"Nero…" tails called as the wolf looks back in anger but also reveals fear. The wolf looked back at Sally and began to charge her. "Nero. Wait-!"

Sally has braced herself to predict the wolf's next move. That was until an odd feeling had occurred. Instead of attacking, she felt the wolf's presence shifted away and into the hole he created. He looks back once more at the kitsune with sorrowful red eyes as he begins to run towards the harsh raining weather and heads towards the woods nearby.

"Sonic! Are you alright?!"

"I'm fine...he saved me." Sonic answered, "He would've taken me down but instead he chose to protect me from himself…"

"Gosh...what have I done." Sally was left flabbergasted at the mistake she has committed "Tails please go after him. You're the only one who can help"

"On it." Tails said as he rushed towards the wolf was headed.

Nero…

Running once again, into the woods where safety is much more secured. He can't think of who he is anymore as he feels there is no hope in finding better peace in the world who can help. After all the unfortunate events, it felt eternal as though life was meant to punish him for his misdoings the moment he set foot as a new being.

He stops as he feels his vision start to leave him in the blink of an eye. He dazed off for a moment as though his pressure felt lowered. Rain continued to fall harder, he sat next to a tree's thick roots in order to relieve himself from stress. When will this nightmare end?

Tails comes along searching for the wolf with the radar. He knows with the chaos energy he possesses, he can track him down in no time. He can see how close he is from the source when he approaches.

"Nero!!" The fox calls, "Please. I didn't mean for any of this to happen. If we talk, we can figure something out just please don't hurt yourself more than what you already have."

Tails felt bad over the wolf. Almost reminded him of how he used to be bullied for having two tails. He doesn't want to see anybody suffer just because they are different. He wants to make this right even if he is just an 8 year old kid, age shouldn't matter.

The fox's scanner suddenly went corrupted as he began to tap the screen for any signs or movements. He heard a loud rustling sound nearby as a tree fell behind tails.

"Nero?" The frightened fox said as he assumed it was the wolf.

He went to take a closer view into the path he might be. A loud thunder storm kicks in as the young kitsune's body tensed in fear and screams his heart from his phobia. He heard trees falling quickly in his direction as he tried to fly away to safety. But there were way too many trees falling in his direction alone as one landed as an anomaly.

Tails' lower body got stuck in a fallen tree and is trying to squirm his way out. But he heard a familiar, malicious laugh once again. Not Eggman's. It came louder and closer as he saw a dark purple cloud coming. It formed an incomplete being with sharp fangs and red devilish eyes in which only Tails recognized on Angel Island.

"TIME IS TICKING.'' The figure purposely walked slowly to see the fox struggling in fear.

The wolf hears a child in distress scream close by. He recognized that voice anywhere.

He was going to reject seeing the fox but he couldn't help wondering, 'what if he is in danger?'

What if the fox wants to take him back? He might be able to betray him afterwards.

Frustrated in making this kind of decision, he went back to help the fox. At least he assumes it's the right thing to do.

The fox screamed in fear as he had no idea why that 'thing' after him. He squirms faster to get himself out of the fallen tree but it is no use as it feels that the tree really pins him down like a mouse trap. He tensed up and squinted his eyes to prepare for the worst.

Before the figure was about to grab on to Tails, it was sliced through like a puff of smoke.

Nero grabbed on to the tree's bark and with all his might, he lifted it over his head. The energy surged in his body more rapidly as though he is using a huge amount of force to carry the huge tree that supports him, even for a scrawny wolf himself.

As the weight on the fox's lower body was somehow lifting, he looked up and instead of finding the shadow creature, he found the wolf. Him alone, lifting up a tree over his head.

"Nero!!"He was amazed by how much energy he had that surged within him yet his appearance is a lot more frightening with a red glow, crimson eyes, Tails knew he sensed his own fear against him as he saw his true form. Nero threw the tree from a distance and ran quickly.

"Wait-ugh" he felt his tails were no longer able to let him fly due to the collision. He ran behind in order to catch up with his friend.

Running in the woods, underneath the rain and soggy mud in which the wolf tries not to slip and get himself in a muddy situation. He has nowhere else to go. All he can do is run away from his troubles as he knows he has already done enough damage.

He still fears his own transformation because he has no idea how he can stop it. The rage of energy does not appear to go away as it is taking a lot longer than usual that can only last for a short time.

His vision dazed off for a moment as he lost his sense of direction for one moment. He realized a cliff ahead but it was a bit too late to react on time. Nero tried to stop but ended up slipping on mud and barely was able to hang on to a twig. Down below is a small river rushing through as heavy rain pours in and the wind starts to kick in.

The twig was just so slippery that the wolf lost grip. At that moment, he felt another grasp on time. He looks up to see the young fox again.

"Leave me alone!" The wolf yells. "Why are you after me!"

"I want to take you back"

"Never! Just leave..."he said as he jerked his arm away from Tails' grip. He showed his sharp claws as a sign of threatening to let go of his other hand, "I prefer to not exist than to suffer everything I have done in the past. If I ever remember what I've done."

"No, Nero. Look, the past is in the past. I want to take you to the Freedom fighters Headquarter. I want you to redeem yourself and show them you are not the villain you used to be."

"You sure?"

"We can figure something out, Nero. I promise."

With that being said, coming from a child, he starts to feel this warm sensation from his chest. He felt relieved that his negative energy started to purify as he starts to glow green once again. Some of the glow starts to transfer into the fox as he is surprised to feel something he never felt before.

Tails lost his grip from the cliff and quickly grabbed Nero's hand. The fox couldn't hang on for much longer as he started to propel his tails as a last resort. He was surprised that his tails was able to fly once again as they both landed safely, relieved the suspense is over for now.

"I'm tired..." his body felt loose as he let himself on Tails' shoulder unexpectedly.

"Nero?" he found an empty syringe on his back as he knows what it contains, "No! Nero wake up! Wake Up!!"

"What's going on Tails!" Sonic caught up on time as he heard his friend panicking.

"Get him to the nurse, Quick!"

"On it!" Sonic grabs Nero and rushes off as Tails commands him before it is too late.
