Chapter 7

Nighttime soon approached and fans had packed the building, eager to see Streetbeat. Many of them held signs up for the dancer, showing their support and admiration of him. The boy looked out the window nearby to see the hall across the street was packed and he smiled before frowning as he saw something else in his mind.

There was that tall man again, the very one he had first seen when trying to escape and he saw the man kneel before him.

"Leo, I have faith in you," he said. "Don't give up now."

The boy shook his head, but he then saw the man in front of him again and the man reached out, playfully ruffling his hair with one hand. "Come on, son. You don't want to miss this."

The man took him to a stage where a beautiful girl was, the same girl he had seen when he woke up and she was singing. He couldn't tell what she was singing, but it sounded beautiful.

Streetbeat shook his head, clearing his head, but the man's voice was still there. "Who is he and why do I keep getting these memories? They can't be mine, but yet...I don't know."

He then took a deep breath. "Come on, man. You got a concert to do," he told himself firmly before stretching carefully so that he didn't pull a muscle while dancing.

A knock sounded at the door and he looked up to see his manager smiling at him. "Are you ready, Leo?" He asked.

"Yes, sir," he said with a nod, grabbing his music.

"Let's break a leg then," the manager said as the security came up to them and formed a protective barrier around Leo and the manager as they walked from the hotel to the concert hall.

The fans screamed in joy at seeing Streetbeat. "Streetbeat! Streebeat!" The crowd began to chant.

In the crowd were the twelve inhabitants of the theater, Lance, Balan, and Emma. "Leo!" Emma called out, but her voice was drowned out by the fans. The security kept Leo well protected and the boy didn't look around once as he walked into the concert hall.

"Come on," Sana said. "We best get inside."

They headed inside and the place was packed. Lance winced as he tried to move past a few people, murmuring apologies. "It's too crowded in here," he said.

Just then the crowd began to raise the roof as Streetbeat stepped onto the stage and the concert began.

The loud music made the inhabitants wince a little at points, but the fans didn't seem to care. They were more amazed with Leo's talent and cheering him on. "I knew he had talent, but even I am impressed," Balan said.

The concert ended after an hour and the fans cheered loudly. "Streetbeat! Streetbeat!" They chanted and he waved to them before vanishing behind the curtain. Emma got an idea and motioned to Yuri, Cass, and Haoyu.

"Come on," she said. "Let's try to sneak backstage."

Jose grew worried. "Be careful, kids," he said.

The four teens headed backstage and the security guards guarding backstage were a bit too busy keeping some fans out, so the kids snuck up to the door and headed backstage. "Come on," Haoyu said. "We better hurry."

They moved fast and found Leo heading down the hallway with his manager. "I'm sure you must be tired after your performance, Streetbeat," the man said.

"Yeah," the teen said. "Is it okay if I crash early?"

"Of course," the man said with a smile. "Can't have my star be so tired that he can't do concerts now, can I?"

Yuri frowned. "He sounds fake," she said.

"Come on. Let's follow them," Cass said.

They tried to keep quiet and follow, but just as they turned a corner, four security guards came out and looked at them. "You four aren't authorized to be back here," one said.

Emma stood her ground. "We need to see Streetbeat," she said, her voice firm.

"No one visits him without the manager's permission," another guard said.

"Run!" Haoyu said as they took off, but the guards caught them quickly and the four struggled to get free, but it was hopeless as they were brought to the manager's office and the security men told him what happened.

"So they were trying to get to Streetbeat, hmm?" He asked. "Why is that?"

"Because he is our friend!" Yuri said firmly.

"Let him go!" Emma said.

"Let go of the young man who is a star and making me rich? I think not," the manager said before getting an idea. "In fact, why have one famous kid...when I can have five famous kids?"

"Wh-What do you mean?" Cass asked in worry.

The manager smiled. "Guards, bring them to the underground chamber," he said.

Though the four teens struggled, they were brought down to a huge underground room where there were five capsules. "What are those?" Yuri asked.

"Your beds," the manager said as he gestured to one of them.

The four gasped as they saw Leo was inside and he appeared to be sleeping with his memories flashing on a screen. "What are you doing to him?!" Emma asked in horror.

"Oh, don't worry, he's unharmed," the greedy man said. "Put them in the other capsules."

Cass tried to scream, but a hand covered her mouth and she was put in a capsule and the lid was closed before she could do anything. Yuri and Haoyu were also placed in capsules before all three were knocked out, becoming still as their memories began to flash on a computer screen too.

"No," Emma said in horror. "When my dad and uncle find us, you'll be sorry!"

The man laughed. "They won't find you, young lady, and soon, you won't remember them," he said as Emma was placed in the last capsule and it was closed. She tried to break out of it, but it was firmly closed. "The oxygen tubes are working well?" The man asked the guards.

"Yes," one guard said. "Their vitals are normal."

"Good," the greedy man said as he then looked at Emma. "Don't worry, young one. When you wake up...you'll be a shining star."

Emma began to feel lightheaded. "No," she managed to say, but her voice was only a whisper. "Haoyu...Cass...Yuri...Leo."

She passed out and the man smiled. "I'll think of names for them for tomorrow," he said. "Make sure they get plenty of rest."

"Yes, sir," one of the security men said.

The manager grinned. "I'm going to be a very rich man," he said to himself. "And this time...not even my own mother can stop me."

He laughed to himself as he began to think of names for the four new stars of the show who were going to join Streetbeat in concerts.

Oh, dear. The other kids have been captured. Will the others find them?
