Some days Antonia felt like she was still just treading water, waiting for her life to suddenly come to a halt; as if everything these past few weeks had been a fever dream. Klaus had worked with her to start to figure out how to connect with her wolf form allowing Antonia to feel a sense of connection and control as she did her best to mend those two parts of herself together. They had worked on transitioning, faster by means of embracing it, being conscious as a wolf, and to Antonia the most important part; not breaking anything around her when she turned. She was very far from perfect but as her appetite for meat grew so did her confidence in the full individual she was becoming both in and out of her relationship with Klaus.

Antonia hummed as she drew her fingers against the stitching of a chair in her room that set her up to gaze out the window. The thick thread felt sturdy and secure binding those fabrics together, one of the few things she was leaving behind. A part of her would always be bound to this house but she knew it was time for her to actually transition into a different part of her life, one where she lived with her mate.

"I do believe this is the last of it, love" Klaus' voice seemed to echo in the nearly bare-boned room. The dusty blue paint seemed a little less lively without the fresh flowers in the vase by her bedside. The quilt that had once laid dead on the streets with her all those years ago moved from it place at the foot of the bed and suddenly made her realize how much it wasn't the room that felt like home to her giving her solace but her cultivation of it. The two supernatural creatures had left mostly furniture and what was mostly now just remaining store-bought decor in Antonia's room.

Antonia and Klaus were making the verbal sentiments of how Klaus was her home, the place where she belonged, true by moving her into his mansion back in Mystic Falls. Two duffle bags and the backpack she came with were stocked full of her clothes, hair and body care, and a few personal items, and her quilt among them.

Klaus' hand reached into Antonia's peripheral vision. Following his hand, Antonia met his eyes.

"Saying goodbye is hard" She took his hand and stood. His cologne filled her senses and she found comfort in his eyes and he took in her face. Her brows furrowed together slightly telling him of her bittersweet feelings about leaving. Across her roses lips, her smile informed him that she was indeed ready for their new journey to begin.

"This isn't goodbye, love-"

"Don't you dare fucking say goodbye, let me remind you, its still your name on the title so you better not leave me with the-"

"Katherine, why thank you for interrupting our moment" The elder of the trio snapped.

"Mortgage, oh stuff it, Klaus!" Katherine's voice was sharp as she lounged in the room frame looking as irritated as ever.

"Well, I guess you're here to see me off?" Antonia asked as she stepped towards Katherine.

Katherine tilted her head giving her dear friend a soft smile as she pushed off the frame moving to close the space between herself and her friend, "Bitch this isn't goodbye, you're moving on and out, and that's okay. You've literally lived for this you better be happy about it"

The women embraced and Klaus who had severely hated and literally hunted the doppelgänger down for a good part of her and his own life, could feel the love and significance of this moment for and with them.

The rest of the goodbyes and packing were swift as Antonia in reality didn't have much as she had always lived below her means and most of the things in the home were Katherine's. The few possessions Antonia had filled the back of the sleek black SUV that was currently idling in the drive.

Klaus stayed seated in the driver's seat with the air conditioning blasting effectively surrounding him with white noise and in this moment Klaus was thankful for that as he could tell it was loud in Antonia's head.

"I must think it'll be lonely there, in the house, without me anymore" Antonia mumbled as she leaned her head against the cool glass of her window.

Klaus hummed in response, "I doubt your roommate actually spent too much time there, or at least the Katherine I knew moved around so often that I doubt she'll see you anymore than she would in Mystic Falls"

"I suppose that's true, wait-"

Antonia's head snapped to gaze curiously at Klaus, "You'd let her visit me at your house in Mystic Falls?"

A deep chuckle escaped Klaus' throat as he too turned his head to look at her, his hand found her thigh gripping it slightly before running it soothingly against her skin. "As much as it would bring me great joy to still tear her limb from limb only allowing her body to stitch itself together to do it again for all the trouble that woman has caused me the desire to have you with me, by my side as my queen, my love means and holds more weight. Besides, I figured if I can deal with her at your house, I should be do the decent thing and allow her in our home assuming she doesn't do anything to cause my wrath"

His voice has stern as he spoke but Antonia felt no malice in his words, "thank you, I know I'm very much imposing-"

"Stop with the imposing love, I've told you, you're it for me, I need you to trust me and as long as she abides by my rules for our home and for her interactions with my enemies, our enemies, we shall have no issues."

"Thank you, Nik" Antonia's eyes glistened with tears, every time her anxiety and self-doubt crept in questioning how she could be okay and the boundaries she needed to hear both were there for herself and Klaus as a couple helped ease her mind, getting reassurance helped her.

The trip eventually ended in Klaus' driveway with a sleeping Antonia being carried in. Wiping the sleep from her eyes she realized it wasn't even that late, the lock on the side table blinked a vibrant seven. The movements of him shifting her body closer to him as he typed away on his phone eased her worries that she wasn't exactly sure how it'd all play out when they got home, his unspoken desire of keeping her to be in the same bedroom as she was perfect. She snuggled into his chest alerting Klaus of her state.

"Hello Love"

"Hi" whispered back

"Can I ask a question?"

"I believe you just did"

"Hmm," Antonia said rolling her eyes at his quirky response.

"Go ahead love you don't need to ask…" His thumb graced her jawline.

"What did you mean-"

"Ah the famous words of women throughout his-"

"Oh hush-"

"Continue!" A deep chuckle rattled her body as her chin came to rest on his chest so she could see his face.

"What did you mean when you said the tea was really for you even if I'm the one drinking it?"

"Ah well like modern medicine gives humans something to balance their hormones and by extension pheromones, nature does the same for werewolves, its a tea with an-"

"Hold up-"

"-and it evens, lowers, your hormones and pheromones significantly supporting my ability to control myself"

Antonia's mouth gaped like a fish gasping for water, her brain was catching up to his words and she began to realize that Klaus had just given her something to control her werewolf side without telling her first. She held him at arm's length giving Klaus feel a view of her physical reaction that simmered beneath the skin's surface.

Dropping her arms from Klaus' biceps where her hands lay she took a smooth deep breath in followed by a quick release before Antonia spoke again, "I'm struggling with the fact that you gave me something without telling me what it was, and that in this case, it is doing something to me. Were you going to tell me if I hadn't asked?"

The two subtly argued back and forth with their eyes, Antonia narrowing her gaze setting Klaus' head on fire and Klaus glaring at her for her assumption of ill intention. While he was aware of his projection of distrust from those he loved he couldn't help but he combative.

"You don't trust me?" Klaus asked as he felt the loss propel Klaus to walk around to the driver's side door.

"I did-" Antonia started before she too moved towards her own side of the car.

"What you hate me like you hate witches-" He slid into the seat.

"No I didn't say that I said you didn't care to share this information with me-" Antonia flings open the door to retort.

"You never asked, I would have shared if you had asked" The engine started and cool air blasted them.

The doors were shut and the GPS turned on as Antonia processed what Klaus said as she buckled herself in. The leather against her warm skins attempted to cool her down.

"If?" Antonia lost it, unbuckling her seatbelt she turned to fully face her mate her eyebrows shooting to her hairline. "I don't have a problem with the tea itself, but the fact that you gave it to me without considering even talking to me about it, its as if you don't trust me to listen when you know more, or to see me as an equal and give me that common curtesy"

"I've been told that even human females take what they call supplements to even their hormones, I do recall Rebekah even-"

"IF!?"

"Love-"

"Do you not realize I am not angry about the fact that I had the tea or what its purpose was, but that you decidedly kept what it truly as from me, your lack of trust or want to communicate freely with me is really feeling like we're backtracking"

The drive back to Mystic Falls was nothing eventful as the two supernatural creatures chose silence and internal debates rather than continuing their heated discussion. For Antonia she was brought back to how he had so easily kept something from her but was quick to remind herself that she herself had kept things from Klaus. It was within reminding herself that she realized the two situations were vastly different, as they had established a relationship and their full intentions after her lack of truthful communication. Klaus' choice to keep the tea's purpose while he made some off-handed comments the communication had only come after with prompting, leaving a bitter taste in her mouth at his timing. In the end Antonia realized this was probably one of the least important issues the two would face being together for eternity.

Unaware they were a block from the mansion in Mystic Falls Antonia made the first move.

"I forgive you" Antonia's voice cracked after being left neglected for a few hours but she powered through, "but you need to start communicating fully and with intentionality, otherwise I'm not sure how we'll deal with each other forever if we cannot have the kind of communication I want, the kind of relationship I want with you."

Stopped at a red light Klaus felt as if his stress had the green light, hearing Antonia speak to him and not immediately start with I'm leaving you was a great relief.

"I am ashamed, I was ashamed of needing something to help me control myself around you. My pride kept me from coming to you as you pointed out I should have. I was afraid you would see me as weak so I thought to forgo telling you about it. I was wrong to do that and I see that now."

"That tea must be working after all because I'm not sure I would have been able to calm down so fast, perhaps we should keep some around all the time" Antonia chuckled at her own joke as the two shared a sweet simple kiss over the console before continuing on their way home.
