Once again brought to you by me and SuperSentai199, we bring you a follow up to our retelling of the OG Star Wars trilogy, by doing the sequels! Some big changes will pop up in this story, as we follow Sam and Alastor's son, Anakin Junior, as he joins Rey and Finn on their journey to find his uncle Luke.

7. Chapter 7

We're Wizards, Not Warriors: What If

Volume 5:

Chapter 7: The Force Awakens

Back with the Resistance….

"Officers at their consoles, urgent!"

An officer yells, "General, their shields are down!"

C3-P0 said, "thank the Maker!"

Leia said, "they did it! Send them in!"

Admiral Statura said, "give Poe and Padme full authorization to attack."

Gulch said, "Black Leader, go to sub-lights. On your call."

Sam muttered, "may the force be with them…."

….

At Lightspeed, Poe and Padme pilot their ships.

"Roger, base, red squad, blue squad, take my lead", Poe said.

Nien Nunb pilots and acknowledges the order in his native language.

We then see another pilot, Zolo Ziff.

"Dropping out of Lightspeed", Zolo siff said.

Padme yelled, "let's give these First Order chumps Hell!"

With concussive blasts, the ships appear and roar towards Starkiller Base!

At a distance, the X-wings drop from the sky, toward the Hexagonal Oscillator Structure in the distance!

The squad of X-wings Dive bombs the Oscillator, the Black Falcon leads.

"Almost in range! Hit the target dead center, as many runs as we can get", Poe said over the comlink.

Padme said, "we're on it!"

As Snap pilots, he says, "approaching the target."

Nien Nunb acknowledges.

….

Large explosions atop the distant Oscillator are seen through the large windows! Alarms blare as Hux moves quickly to see the damage, he turns sharply to a First Order Officer.

"Dispatch all squadrons….", Hux said.

"Yes, General", Colonel Datoo said.

….

Poe yelled, "let's light it up!"

The X-Wings five bomb the oscillator, all of them hitting it in succession.

LT. Bastian yelled, "direct hit!"

Ello Asty said, "but no damage!"

Poe said, "yeah, we gotta keep hitting it! Another bombing run! Remember, when that sun is gone, that weapon will be ready to fire! But as long as there's light, we have a chance."

Beeping comes from BB-8, riding in the back of his X-wing.

This makes Poe look out and can't believe what he's seeing: Dozens of TIE fighters!

"Guys, we got a lot of company", Poe said.

….

Inside Starkiller base….

The group are seen running through a hallway.

They take cover as Chewie pulls some explosives out of the duffel. They see blast doors nearby.

Finn says, "we'll use the charges to blow that blast door. I'll go in and draw fire, but I'm gonna need cover."

Ani said, "that's what I'm for."

Han asked, "you sure you're up for this?

Finn said, "Hell no. I'll go in and try to find Breha and Rey. The Scouts will be on our tail. We have to be ready for that. There's an access tunnel that'll leads-"

Han starts pointing with his chin to something behind Finn.

"Why are you doing that? Why are you doing this? I'm trying to come up with a plan", Finn said.

Eda points behind him.

Finn and Ani turn around to see Rey and Breha climbing from inside the wall.

They can't believe it! Chewie murmurs his relief. Han is maybe more grateful than anyone.

Except for Ani, who says, "Force, how does Rey do it?!"

….

Back at the Resistance base, a Resistance Technician turns to Leia.

Admiral Ackbar says, "the Oscillator's still standing."

The officer says, "X-wings coming back for another round of attacks!"

….

Rey and Breha are walking down the corridor with their blasters in hand and they both hear a sound.

They swoop their rifles in that direction only to see it's Finn and Ani along with the others.

Ani yelled, "Rey!"

Rey yelled, "Ani!"

Finn yelled, "Breha!"

Breha yelled, "Finn!"

King yelled, "DONKEY!"

Everyone turned to look at King in confusion.

Ani hugged Rey.

Ani went wide-eyed, but smiled and hugged back.

Breha actually grabbed Finn by his collar and pulled him into a kiss!

Han went wide eyed at this!

Once the kiss ended, and Finn gave an utterly perplexed look.

Han asked, "are you alright?"

Breha said, "yeah."

Han said, "good."

Ani asked worried, "are you okay Rey? Did Kylo Ren hurt you?"

Rey asked, "I- well- wait, what are you doing here?!"

Ani said, "I- er, we came back for you."

She is speechless. This is all she's ever wanted anyone to do.

Chewie talks and Rey tears up.

Finn asked, "what'd he say?"

Rey shrugs, smiles, though nearly in tears, and says, "... That it was your and Ani's idea."

Finn awkwardly smiles. It's his nature.

Rey hugs him and says, "thank you."

Ani feels a little bit of disappointment from the hug.

But as Rey moves from Finn, she hugs Ani more tightly and cries, "I knew you'd all come for me!"

Ani saif, "I told you Rey, I'll never abandon you!"

Rey moves away just enough to capture Ani's lips for a moment, surprising the others, especially Ani.

Finn actually finds himself happy about seeing Rey and Ani like that.

Ani smiles as he kisses her back.

Breha then hugs Finn.

Finn asked, "how did you two get away?"

Breha said, "Rey broke me out."

Eda asked, "and how did she get out?"

Rey said, "I can't explain it. And you wouldn't believe it."

Ani said, "I think I could."

As Rey and Ani gazed at one another, neither had to say anything.

Han said, "alright everyone. Escape now. Hug later."

….

The X-Wings dogfight with the TIE Fighters on the surface of the snowy planet.

Snap said, "I got one behind me. See it?"

"Yeah, I'm on it", Jess said.

A heavy cannon emplacement launches a missile that shreds an X-wing fighter.

Jess yelled, "Furillo's been hit!"

Snap yelled, "watch out for ground fire!"

The X-wings roar across the sky, blasting and dodging the TIE Fighters and missiles.

Padme yelled, "give it everything you've got!"

The X-wings roar across the sky, blasting and dodging the TIE Fighters and missiles.

….

Ani, Eda, Han, King, Finn, Rey, Breha, Lola and Chewie, run out into the snow, stopping, eyes on the sky, watching the lop-sided battle.

The heroes all turn to each other, with resolve in their eyes.

A long moment of communication.

Han said, "they're in trouble. We can't leave. My friend here has a bag full of explosives. Let's use 'em."

….

Back at the Resistance base….

General Connix asked Leia, "General, are you seeing this?"

"Two more X-wings down. That's half our fleet destroyed", Vober Band said.

Polly hopped up and said, "not for long….", as she pulled out a small remote control.

"Hey, what's this", Poe said over the comlink.

Polly smirked and said, "the cavalry has arrived…."

….

Back on the battlefield on Starkiller base….

Vulture droids show up and begin to fire at the TIE fighters!

"Polly, you did it again", Padme cheered.

Polly laughed over the comlink.

….

Sam hugged his daughter and said, "my smart little girl."

Polly giggled.

….

We see the oscillator structure, near darkness.

Eda, King, Han and Chewie arrive here to find three Scouts approaching a maintenance hatch. Instantly, Chewie takes out the middle one with his Bowcaster. Han, Eda and the other two Scouts open fire on one another, but Eda and Han's aim is true.

The alarms start blaring.

Running inside from a parked snowspeeder, Rey opens a service hatch. Lola, Finn, Ani and Breha are behind her, as she reaches into the mechanics of the place, very much like the very first time we saw Rey.

And she yanks a piece of tech from the machinery and the hatch opens! Han, Eda and Chewie, having been on the lookout, step inside, weapons poised. Chewie moans.

"That girl knows her stuff", Han said.

Eda said, "Ani made a good choice with her."

Eda, King, Han and Chewie divide the explosives, talking in bushes at once.

Han said, "we'll set the charges at every other column."

Chewie groans to Han, who looks around and reconsiders.

Han said, "you're right. That's a better idea", he checks his detonator, "you, King and Eda take the top. I'll go down below. Detonator. We'll meet back here."

Han finishes placing an explosive. He checks he's all-clear and hurries down to the next level. Chewie climbs up a level with Eda and King.

A Squad of Scouts snap to alert as Kylo Ren approaches. Controls are hit and the huge door opens. Without hesitation, Kylo walks Into the Oscillator.

We see a Colossal Cylindrical structure. Dark corridors and catwalks. Kylo Ren comes to a stop and scans the structure. Sensing something, he motions the scout Squad upwards.

"Find them", Kylo Ren said.

They rush past him. Kylo Ren turns slowly, and heads down.

The Scouts move up the ramp, weapons ready, checking carefully where blind corners intersect from the perimeter.

They come round to the next higher level. When they've passed, we see Chewie, Eda and King in the shadows of the grillwork.

Once they're gone, Eda plants another charge.

….

The Snowspeeder comes to a stop outside the structure. Finn, Ani, Breha, Lola and Rey stop for a moment, and look to the sky. The sun is nearly gone!

….

Han finishes setting a charge and is about to move on when he hears something and conceals himself behind a wide,vertical support. He peaks around the edge and his whole demeanor changes, Kylo Ren appears and stops at the railing, looking down into the filter. Han looks at his son with a tortured storm of feelings.

He resumes his hunt, and heads directly towards where Han is hiding! Kylo Ren has an increasing sense of Han's presence as he moves closer. He comes to where Han was hiding, but Han is gone, and nowhere to be seen.

From his hiding place in a narrow, power chamber in the wall, Han watches his son pass by.

Kylo Ren turns onto a flat bridge that bisects into the open space. Unaware of his father, he walks purposefully across to the opposite side. Han watches his son walk off, the sound of Kylo Ren's boots receding.

This is Han's opportunity to escape but Leia's words echo through his mind. He makes a decision and moves out, to the edge of the catwalk.

He calls out, strongly, "Ben!"

The name echoes as Kylo Ren stops, far across the vast catwalk. He turns.

"Han Solo. I've been waiting for this day for a long time", Kylo Ren said.

Ani, Breha, Lola, Finn and Rey make their way into the area, opening a hatch that allows a small beam of precious fleeting sunlight to stream down like a spotlight on Han and his son. The group gets to a railing and looks down. They can see and hear Han and Kylo Ren on the catwalk below.

Ani and Breha have looks of pure dread etched onto their faces.

"Take off that mask. You don't need it", Han said.

Kylo Ren asked, "what do you think you'll see if I do?"

Han moves toward Kylo Ren.

"The face of my son", Han said.

Kylo takes off his mask. Han is jolted, seeing the face of his son for the first time as a man.

"Your son is gone. He was weak and foolish, like his father. So I destroyed him", Kylo Ren said.

"That's what Malakis wants you to believe, but it's not true. My son is alive", Han said.

Several levels below them, Chewie, Eda and King come to the rail to watch.

"No. The Supreme Leader is wise", Kylo Ren said.

Up above, Finn, Chewie, Ani, Eda, Lola, King, Breha and Rey watch. Scouts dot the perimeter of the structure, watching the scene.

On the bridge, Han moves closer, stern in his resolve.

Han said, "Malakis is just using you for your power. When he gets what he wants, he'll crush you. You know it's true. Ani…. Collin…. They could see through him. I know you can too!"

Kylo hesitates. Somehow, he does know it, but says, "it's too late."

Han said, "no it's not. Leave here with me. Come home. We miss you. All of us. Me, your mom, Jesse, Ani, Sam, Alastor, Prime, Polly, Collin, Angela, Breha, Eda, King, Chewie, HK, Artoo, Lola, Ahsoka, Hunter, Threepio…. We all miss you…. We're a family…."

"I'm being torn apart. I want to be free of this pain", Kylo Ren said.

Han takes one step toward his son, but stops himself.

Kylo Ren said, "I know what I have to do, but I don't know if I have the strength to do it. Will you help me?"

Han hears his son's voice again, pained and vulnerable.

The voice he'd hear when he would skin his knee. The voice he'd hear when he had a nightmare. The voice that would bicker with his sister.

Han only heard Ben Solo.

Han said, "yes. Anything."

Kylo Ren unholsters his lightsaber and slowly extends it to Han, within a foot of his chest. Han almost can't believe it. The moment seems to last forever.

Even Ani finds himself filled with a bit of hope at seeing this.

And just then, the last beam of sunlight streaming through the open hatch vanishes.

Han actually smiles…. And reaches out for the dark weapon, but with the light now gone…. Kylo Ren's eyes fill with darkness.

He ignites the lightsaber!

The fiery blade shoots out, right through Han's chest and back!

Above, Finn, Ani, Breha and Rey gasp and scream at the sight.

Ani is in shock, tears streaming down his face as he can't even yell in pure agony and rage.

Breha seems to shut down as her eyes fill with tears.

Finn mutters, "Solo."

Rey cried, "no! No! No!"

Ani yelled, "Uncle Han…. No!"

Chewie roars in anguish as Eda falls to her knees and screams! King lets out a cry of anguish!

Han looks into the face of his son in shock.

Kylo Ren whispers, "thank you."

Han's last moment is looking into his son's face. Han's knees buckle, The blade tilts down with him…. Until Kylo Ren extinguishes it and Han holds onto the catwalk, his life slipping away. Finally, Han falls back, off the catwalk Into the depths of the Structure!

….

Leia, feeling it instantly, drops into a seat, devastated.

Han Solo is gone.

Her husband was gone.

A hero was no more.

Sam instantly drops to his knees as Prime and Alastor run over to their husband.

Tears fell down Sam's face.

He whispered, "Han…. No…."

….

Kylo Ren is somehow weakened by this wicked act. He himself is horrified by his own actions. His shock is broken only when Chewie cries out in agony over the loss of his best friend! Chewie furiously fires at Kylo Ren, hitting him in the side! Kylo Ren falls back, stunned.

Eda yelled, "I'M GONNA KILL YOU KRIFFING SONUVA MYNOCK!"

King screamed in anger, "YOU BASTARD!"

Breha broke out of her shock and started viciously shooting at her brother.

Then scouts began to fire at the group.

Chewie, King and Eda are forced to retreat. Chewie holds the explosive remote and presses the button.

The detonators go off.

Kylo Ren then sees Rey, Ani, Breha and Finn watching the explosions.

Then then see Kylo Ren, who recognizes them all, with astonishment. He rises to his full height and heads for them with long strides.

Scouts begin to blast away at the group! Rey is in a crazed state as she shoots her blaster, the bolts hitting around him. Ani and Finn wrap their arms around Rey and Breha and almost have to drag them out of sight.

….

Back at the base….

"The Oscillator's been damaged but is still functional", Admiral Ackbar said.

"Admiral, their weapon will fire in two minutes", Tabala Zo said.

….

Back at StarKiller base….

From a distance the oscillator is ablaze and fractured from the explosives. Then Ani, Breha, Rey and Finn appear, coming over a rising, running into a bare-tree snowy forest.

"The Falcon's this way", Finn said.

Ani said, "hopefully Eda, Chewie and King have gotten there by now!"

Ani, Breha, Finn and Rey, overcome with emotion, race through the snowy forest, until Finn slows and stops. Rey, Breha and ANI stop too, all of them out of breath. They look at each other. They know they can't run.

Kylo Ren moves through the trees, until he stops and takes out his saber, igniting it. A still figure amidst the gusts of wind and snow.

He stands thirty feet away, facing our heroes.

Finn holds Bastilla Shan's lightsaber, Rey and Breha hold the Scout blasters, and Ani holds Anakin's lightsaber.

"We're not done yet", Kylo Ren said.

"You're a monster", Rey growled.

Ani yelled, "murderer!"

Kylo Ren growled, "it's just us now. Han Solo can't save-"

Breha doesn't even let him finish as she starts shooting at him, with Rey quickly joining in!

Kylo Ren began to deflect the blaster shots.

Ani activates his lightsaber.

Kylo Ren quickly threw his hand forward, knocking Rey and Breha into a tree and out cold!

Ani shouted, "REY!"

Finn shouted, "BREHA!"

The two ran over to the girls.

The boys checked their pulses. Still alive, thank the Force. But it did nothing to ease their worries.

But the sound of Kylo Ren's lightsaber moving makes Ani and Finn turn back to loom at him, lit by the glowing yellow and red blade.

Kylo Ren yelled at Finn, "TRAITOR!"

In reply, Finn turns on Bastilla's lightsaber as Ani turns on Anakin's.

Upon seeing the weapons, Kylo Ren reacts in shock.

He growls, "those lightsabers. They belong to me!"

Ani said, "you don't deserve Bastilla Shan or Anakin Skywalker's weapons! You call Finn a traitor, but I remember that day at Uncle Luke's temple."

Kylo Ren yelled, "silence! Give. Me. Those. Saber's!"

Finn growled, "if you want them, come get them."

Finn and Ani then charge towards Kylo Ren.

The blades all strike one another!

Ani tries to strike Kylo Ren.

Kylo Ren intercepts Ani, the two each blocking one another in almost perfect sync until Ren sends Ani back a few feet.

Ani groaned in pain as he hit the ground.

Kylo Ren turns and attacks Finn. Amazingly, Finn blocks, and counter-attacks, clearly impressing Ren, who only enjoys this challenge more!

"Impressive", Kylo Ren said.

Ank and Finn keep switching whenever one of them manages to send Kylo back.

Rey recovers, getting her bearings. Her eyes focus on the three men fighting, through the trees.

Ani growled in anger as he swung his saber at Kylo Ren.

Kylo Ren blocked the attack. He is obviously hampered by his wound, yet he attacks with primal savagery. He quickly pushes away and swings at Finn, who blocks, turning defensive, and moves into offensive ones. And he actually manages to get a hit in!

Kylo Ren growled in pain.

He was more enraged than weakened. Kylo Ren charges again, with Ani and Finn joining in, their weapons pound, sparks flying as their blades lock.

The men are close, their faces lit by the powerful, crashing sabers. Kylo Ren pushes Finn back far enough away for him to attack Ani with pure ferocity.

Ani struggled to keep up with Kylo Ren's attacks.

He is stunned, unprepared for this fierceness.

Rey sees this as Kylo Ren unleashes a merciless series of blows, pushing Ani further and further back until he loses balance.

Finn is struggling to get up, as is Rey.

That's when Ren strikes. He lands a blow to Ani's arm!

Ani falls to the ground, clutching the cut on his arm!

Rey's eyes went wide as she saw Ani get hurt.

Kylo Ren turns off his lightsaber and reaches for Anakin and Bastilla's sabers.

Ani is too exhausted to try and stop his cousin.

The lightsabers shake in the snow.

Kylo Ren strains as he tries to use the force to pull the lightsabers to him.

The lightsaber's both finally fly out of the snow like blaster bolts toward Ren, but they speed right past him!

He turns to see both weapons land in the hands of Rey and Finn, who stand facing him, having reached for the weapons.

Ani grew a big smile at the sight and whispered, "I knew it!"

Rey and Finn then activate the lightsabers.

Their eyes blaze, being reflected by the blue and yellow light.

Kylo Ren ignites his own saber.

Rey and Finn charge now, immediately putting Kylo Ren on the defensive. They battle with much power. Ren is clearly rocked by their raw, innate skill.

….

We then see the battle between the X-wings and the TIE fighters.

Niv Lek yells, "we just lost R-1!"

Jess yelled, "we're overwhelmed! What do we do? It isn't working!"

Another pilot looks down and sees the explosion coming from the oscillator.

Relatively small, it's an opening.

Yolo Ziff says, "Black Leader, Blue Leader, there's a brand new hole in that oscillator. Looks like our friends got in!"

Padme, "that's my bro!"

"Red Four! Red Six! Cover us", Poe shouted.

Bastian yelled, "I'm on it!"

Ello Asty exclaimed, "Roger!"

The vulture droids echoed, "Roger Roger!"

Poe shouted, "everybody else, hit the target hard! Give it everything you got!"

Padme yelled, "let's blow this thing and go home!"

"I need some help here! I need some help", Poe said.

"I'm coming Poe", Padme shouted.

LT. Bastian yelled, "I'm coming in!"

Jess shouted, "watch out!"

Ello Asty exclaimed, "I'm hit!"

The alien pilot's X-wing is blasted to pieces.

Poe yelled, "all teams, I'm going in! Pull up and cover me!"

Niv Lek exclaimed, "copy that, Black Leader! Good luck, Poe!"

The trailing X-wings peel off as Poe's black black fighter darts into the fiery breach.

Outside the Sun is almost completely gone.

….

Inside the base….

"Weapon at full capacity in thirty seconds", a technician said.

"Prepare to fire", Hux said.

….

Poe's X-wing weaves through the breach. A pursuing TIE fighter does not clear the gap, leaving Poe to circle the interior of the unguarded structure, firing volley after volley of torpedoes.

The remaining X-Wings, including Padme and Poe's, blast the place, and the structure begins to crater, deep underground explosions!

….

Amid the bare white trees, three lightsabers are seen.

Anakin's blue, Bastilla's yellow and Ren's sparking red illuminate the flurries of snow.

Rey seems to be impossibly stronger than Ren as she is able to keep with his strikes.

Finn offers a great deal of support to turn the tide in their favor.

The two then jump up the rocks as Kylo Ren pursues them!

Suddenly, a colossal chunk of the forest right behind Rey and Finn drops away like an anchor in the ocean! They are suddenly fighting on the edge of a massive brand new cliff!

The three lock blades!

Kylo Ren yells, "you need a teacher! I can show you both the ways of the Force!"

Rey whispered, "the Force."

Kylo Ren thinks he had the upper hand against them both.

Rey closes her eyes for a long beat. Finn followed suit.

Rey then began to hear voices.

So did Finn.

They heard….

"Rey…. Finn…. These are your first steps. Think of what you're fighting for!"

Their minds think about what they're fighting for.

The Resistance.

The Jedi.

The New Republic.

BB-8.

Lola.

Leia.

Sam.

Alastor.

Prime.

Ahsoka.

Hunter.

Angela.

Collin.

Polly.

HK-50.

BB-4.

R2.

3-P0.

King.

Eda.

Chewie.

Terrance.

Lilith.

Lando.

Breha.

Ani.

…. For Han!

When Rey and Finn open their eyes, they are centered, fortified, and fight back with single handed swipes, hitting Ren's gnarly, spitting saber with incredible force. It's so fast now, so furious, that Kylo Ren falls back. They attack harder!

Ren attempts to strike Rey, but she blocks the attack and sends his saber flying.

Finn slashes again and again, hitting Kylo Ren square in the face and chest. He goes down, suddenly a fearful man, with a large burn scar slashed across his face! He still reaches for his saber.

And the pair could kill him, right now, with one vicious strike from each saber!

But they stop, realizing they stand on a greater edge than even the cliff. The edge of the dark side.

The ground shakes. The earth splits. A gully forms. The area where the Rally was held is now Collapsing into a giant sinkhole!

….

We see a young technician, who watches this out the control room window in horror. He hurries off, passing Colonel Datoo, who admonishes, "Lieutenant, get back to your station!"

The technician stops fleetingly and says, "just look. We won't survive, even Hux has gone!"

As he hurries off, we see that Hux is in the assembly room.

He stands before Malakis' image. Relative quiet, but distant sounds of destruction around them. Hux tries to keep it together but is horrified, heartsick.

"Supreme leader, The fuel cells have ruptured. The collapse of the planet has begun", Hux said.

Malakis growled, "leave the base at once and come to me with Kylo Ren. It is time to complete his training. I have foreseen it."

….

In the forest.

Rey and Finn run to Ani and Breha.

Ani sat with Breha's head in his lap.

"Breha", Finn said.

Breha groaned as she slowly woke up and asked, "did you kick his ass?"

"Yeah…. Rey and I kicked Kylo Ren's ass", Finn chuckled.

Breha groaned, "good…. Remind me to kiss you when I don't have this headache…."

Finn's face grew warm.

Rey asked, "Ani? Are you alright?"

"Mostly", Ani said.

Nearby more trees drop. As the planet continues to collapse. And just as it seems like all is lost…. Lights rise from the newly formed canyon.

The Millenium Falcon!

The lights illuminate the group, whose faces fill with hope.

Chewie and Eda are at the controls!

King yelled, "hey you guuuys!"

Chewie quickly exits the ship, and moments later, carries a disoriented Breha up the ramp. Rey, Ani, Finn and Lola, who had been with Breha during the battle, follow Chewie close behind.

Chewie carries Breha over to a bed, followed by the other's.

The Falcon then takes off into the air.

"All teams! I got eyes on them", Poe said as he spotted the Falcon in the air.

Snap yelled, "yes!"

Padme said, "never doubt those guys!"

The X-wings roar off, skyward as the planet implodes.

The sunlight it contains bursts forth, and as we get further and further distance from what was Starkiller Base, we witness the rebirth of a sun. Light restored to a corner of the galaxy.

The Millennium Falcon and the X-wings rip through space, headed home.

Poe yelled, "our job's done here. Let's go home!"
