...Tournament...
I walk inside the Great Hall ignoring the way Justin is looking at me. I take a calming breath and sit between Mione and Lav. "Deep breaths." Harry smirks. "I'll jump across this table and smack you. Shut up." I snap. Gulping Harry quickly looks away. Suddenly a note lands in front of me. I open it reading quickly. 'Nice entrance at the World Cup- B.Z'. I look around and find Blaise watching me. I smile politely and turn back around.
"No smiling at the enemy." Ron mutters. "You gossiped around Justin and because you ran your mouth he became insecure and jealous and broke up with me. So, I can smile at whoever the fuck I want to smile at." I smile while speaking through gritted teeth. Ron blushes scarlet and looks down. "Thought so." I growl. Mione nudges me. I pull my new quill from my robes and scribble a quick response before chucking it at Blaise's head. He catches it with a small smirk. I scoff and turn back around.
"No. No!" Lav gasps. "A little flirting never hurt anybody except for Harry." I shrug. "I have never..." I hold up a hand to stop him. "During the Quidditch match against Ravenclaw after you got your firebolt. Cho flirted a bit and smiled at you and you nearly let her have the snitch and win the match." I point out. Harry blushes and looks down. "I get the feeling that even Ginny could beat you if she wanted to." I smirk. Harry shoots me a look and Ginny blushes. "My apologies. I meant as long as the girl has enough skill she can kick your ass." I smile innocently.
Harry shoots daggers at me all through dinner. I keep my air of innocence until we reach the common room. I hurry up to the dorm and return with five boxes of chocolates. "Here, I want to bury the hatchet." I hand the boys each a box. Seamus and Dean frown but Ron is already digging in. I watch as they devour the sweets. I smirk and clear my face when they look at me. "Are we good now?" I ask rocking back and forth. The boys look at each other then nod. I smile and skip up to bed.
I'm reading over my schedule when they come down for breakfast. They look rather upset. "What took you guys so long?" Mione wonders not looking up from her schedule. A series of grunts, groans, and muffled shouts of exasperation ensue. Mione finally looks up. The boys' mouths are seemingly glued shut. "You guys should hurry up and eat something. Class starts soon." I sigh getting up not meeting their eyes. They point at me accusingly. "I didn't do anything to you. I went to bed early." I pout and stomp my foot hurrying off.
I'm reading my potions book with Reine at my feet when the others come down for our potions lesson. "That's pretty advanced." Blaise whispers reading over my shoulder. "I'm surprised you can understand it." I smirk. He laughs and shakes his head. "And here I thought you would've just graduated early. I heard you've already made enough money to retire." he glances at me. "Ah, is that why you're talking to me all of a sudden. I'm actually quite fond of learning. The money means nothing to me. I just like proving naysayers wrong." I smile. "Sure you do, and what about those ones over there?" Blaise points at Harry, Ron, Neville, Dean, and Seamus. "Who knows." I shrug nonchalantly. Smiling Blaise leans on the wall. Snape comes out and beckons us inside a few minutes later. I go to sit between Mione and Lav but Snape steers me towards a single desk by his. He collects everyone's summer homework then begins their lesson and assignment. He rounds on me once everyone is working.
"Care to explain what happened to your fellow Gryffindors and why they cannot speak?" Snape raises an eyebrow. "I didn't do anything to them if that's what you're wondering. I gave them sweets to apologize and went to bed early. Maybe they're too nervous and they didn't eat yet today." I mumble. He hums and tuts. "Ms. Blanchet- Black, you are forgetting that I went to school with not only your parents but your uncles as well. I've even met your stepfather. I know just how mischievous your family can be." he frowns.
"Yes, well I really didn't do anything." I speak each word with emphasis. He sighs. "It's just that I was trying this new potion and if they were truly sorry nothing would've happened but if they weren't sorry whatever they said later is what would happen to them." I confess. Snape groans. "Any one of them could've said 'Amia probably just wants us to keep our mouths shut' or something of the sort and the potion would've kicked in. I got the idea from Fred, George, and Lee at the World Cup." I crack open my newest journal and show him the potion.
Because I didn't wish them this level of ill will I can't do anything to help them. I also don't know what they said after I went to bed. Snape reads over the notes and the recipe with a partially approving smile. "Ten points from Gryffindor for this incident." he snaps. I begin to object but he's not done. "Five points each from you idiots for not even thinking. An inventor you have previously pissed off gives you food and you don't even question it. Shame! I will be telling your head of house about this incident as she is looking forward to hearing about how you five ended up like this." Snape sneers at the boys.
Class continues and every time Snape's back is turned they shoot me glares. I look away and focus on my notes and the new potions I have been asked to make. Snape checks them at the end of class. "It should work but you may have to test and tweak it several times." he mumbles. I nod accepting the fact. "What is this?" he wonders. "A Ministry request. Mum was going on and on about it at work and after what happened at the World Cup, the Ministry wanted to take preemptive measures." I murmur looking at the truth potion.
I follow Mione and Lav into the common room. Ron and Harry are muffled grumbling at the Weasley twins and Lee while Dean, Neville, and Seamus stand behind them muffedly cheering them on. I watch in fascination. "I wonder what they said that caused this punishment. I wish I could help, well almost." I sigh and go up to the dorm. The boys muffle shout after me and I cup my ear 'trying' to hear them. "Gossiping assholes." I yell slamming the dorm door shut.
Reine follows me down to the dungeon and Snape sighs. "Tell her whatever ingredient. She knows them well. Watch! Reine I need two bags of lacewing flies please." I smile. Reine shoots off even opening the door on her own. She trots back with the two bags. Snape stares in shock. We begin to work and eventually Snape becomes comfortable with asking Reine to fetch ingredients. By dinner the potions are bubbling away nicely and they're all the right shade.
I hurry up to dinner and smile when I see the boys glaring at their plates. "They still aren't fixed?" I ask feigning concern. Neville grabs my hand and makes a bunch of furious grumbles. "Oh, I'm sorry! I don't understand you but I'd be willing to help if you let me play with your ears whenever you get flustered." I smile. He releases my hand and turns away. "Buzzkill bitches." I mutter sitting next to Lav.
Reine hops into my lap and curls up. "Apologize!" Mione smacks my arm. "They started it." I huff. "Apologize now!" Mione pinches my side. I stare at her with a hurt expression. "I'm sorry you guys are a bunch of gossiping bitches." I apologize. Ron and Seamus jump to their feet. Harry, Dean, and Neville guide them out of the hall. Lav smacks the back of my head. "Owie!" I frown. "Be nice. Apologize properly after dinner." Mione scolds gently.
I kick the floor as the boys stare daggers at me. "I help you and I get to play with Neville's ears when he's flustered. If we have a deal raise your hand." I sigh. Most of the room raises their hand laughing. Harry and Dean raise their hands and as Neville tries to stop them Ron and Seamus raise theirs too. "You've been outvoted child." I smirk placing a hand on Neville's shoulder. Neville slips dramatically to the floor. I take a vial out of my pocket and have the boys sit down. As it's been a day I place 24 drops on each of their mouths. With a shaky gasp they open their mouths.
I hand out two vials to each. "What's this?" Seamus eyes the medicine warily. "You haven't eaten in 24 hours. It's medicine. One vial will help ease your stomach and the other will help with any sickness you might feel from not eating. You're welcome!" I huff slightly hurt that they think I'd poison them. "Thanks." they mutter. "Little brats. I didn't even choose a punishment for your gossiping." I turn on my heel and storm up to my dorm slamming the door shut.
I lean on Lavender as we wait for the schools to arrive. I'd rather be brewing potions right now. I watch in mock fascination as the Beauxbatons and Durmstrangs arrive. Viktor smirks and mouths "Little brat!" as he and his schoolmates pass by. I stomp my foot in frustration. "National treasure!" I correct. He rolls his eyes and walks inside. I scoff and turn to complain to Lavender but she's gawking at the Beauxbatons boys. Before anyone can stop me I race after Viktor.
"What do you mean little brat?!" I demand slamming my hands down on the table in front of Viktor. He chuckles and shakes his head. "The World Cup. Training. The practices." he raises a single eyebrow at me. "I was being helpful. Also, I remember you looking very entertained even though you were bone tired." I point out. "The World Cup. The snitch went crazy and was able to silence the crowd. A crowd full of die hard Quidditch fans. You practically skipped off the field after unleashing that tiny little monster." he rolls his eyes.
"You and Aidan agreed to it. You should've backed out if you weren't sure. I was just making sure everyone would have fun." I pout. "Your friends are waving you over. Go now little brat." Viktor pats my head "National treasure." I correct him. "Bye little brat." he waves and shoos me to table. Hermione guides me to the Gryffindor table as I point and look at her. "He's being mean. I have to correct him." I gasp. "Do it later." she hisses forcing me to sit down.
I mope all through dinner throwing bits of food at the boys and Mione and Viktor. Lavender smacks my hand and I slide to the floor pouting. Ron and Seamus nudge me under the table and I bite their legs. Judging by their yelps the message I sent them got through. Neville bends down and frowns at me. I reach for his ears and he jerks away so fast he slams his head into the table. I try not to laugh and pat Neville's knee. He groans in response. I crawl over and slip up and sit next to him. I tap his shoulder. He peeks at me. "Does your head hurt?" I mouth. He nods. I stifle a laugh. I slip him some medicine as the feast ends and hurry up to bed.
I'm in the library introducing Viktor and Hermione when I spy Neville. "You two have fun talking. I'm going to go play." I smirk and take off. I follow Neville out of the library and jump on his back. He yelps but calms as I play with his ears. "Hey, did you find the right book?" I ask. "Yep, now get down." he sighs. I do but I grab his ear. I drag him into an empty corridor. "Ow!" he frowns as I let go. "Sorry, I saw the gossipers. I have a question." I mumble as he rubs his ear.
"What?" he mutters still frowning. "Is there a way to reject a guy outright without hurting his feelings or causing a scene?" I murmur. He freezes. "It's Justin again and I really don't want to be mad anymore." I run my fingers through my hair. Neville frowns and leans closer. "You're not going to like this... but, there's no way to not hurt him or cause a scene Amia." he whispers. I pout and he pinches my cheek. "Just tell him flat out. That's the only solution." he smiles sympathetically before leaving.
I'm checking my potions while Snape talks to Draco, Theodore, and Blaise. Reine darts back and forth chasing something. I scoop her up and place on the desk with my notes. Then I scoop up what she was chasing, a rather tired and sickly-looking rat. I leave Snape to babysit the potions and Reine. I skid to halt at the forests edge and release it into the trees. I turn on my heel and leave. I hurry back down to my potions and find Blaise reading my journal. I hold out a hand for my journal. He turns away still reading. I groan and growl. He smiles and shows me the potion he's reading. "No." I reach for my journal but he holds it above his head far out of my reach. I stomp my foot.
"This is truly amazing." he smiles going back to reading. He winds up assisting me along with Theodore. Draco sits off to the side muttering under his breath. When we leave to go up to dinner Theo and Blaise are still asking me questions. I nudge them gently in the direction of their table. Draco leads them away by their collars and I sit by Mione and sigh. "Why hello there." she smiles. "Hi, something wrong?" I ask. Everyone is staring. "What was that?" Lavender asks. "Ah, they were helping Snape with ingredient restocking and organizing. Then Theo and Blaise asked me questions while I worked.
"So you're exes are helping you with your potions?" Mione chokes. Everyone chokes and coughs. "I guess you could say that." I shrug. "Exes?!" Lav and Parvati cough. "I went on a date with Draco before dating Justin. After Justin and I broke up I went on a date with Theo as well as a date before the World Cup. This year I went on a few dates with Blaise." I sigh pouring them some more juice. "I thought you were always studying and working on potions... when did you have time to do all this dating?!" Lavender smacks my arm. "I have more free time than you can imagine little one." I tease.
After dinner I sit in the common room working on my experimental potion ideas and responding to letters I've received from Quidditch teams and several hospitals. "The traitor is studying again." Ron scoffs from where he sits with the other boys. "Oh, wow! The person with zero experience is running his mouth." I gasp in mock shock. Ron's face goes bright red. Dean, Harry, and Seamus drag him up to their dorm while Neville follows laughing. I wave as they disappear around the corner.
"Draco versus Theo versus Justin versus Blaise versus Neville! Who's a better kisser?" Parvati wonders. "Neville." I murmur rereading my notes from this summer. "Wow! She didn't even hesitate." Lavender gapes. "It's a fact. Justin was too gentle like he thought I would break and the other three were too domineering." I mumble. I look up to find my friends a blushing mess. "What does too domineering mean?" Mione wonders in a whisper.
"It means I stopped breathing in their presence. Like if I were to talk to someone else besides them, they'd get super jealous and probably beat the living daylights out of the other guy. You know, the kind of guys that press you up against walls and kiss you senseless to 'remind you' that you're with them." I tsk. Dizzily they get up and go to bed tripping and stumbling into walls. I watch them with worry. "I swear... anyone would think they were drunk off their asses." I tut.
