Hiruzen was currently in his office, painting a black kanji on a large white opened scroll, he was no longer in his Hokage robes but into some casual ones that signaled, he was off duty. It was currently mid-day so he figured he might as well spend it doing something he enjoyed, painting kanji.
The door to his office was opened without entrance as it revealed his assistant. She bowed before the Hokage as she spoke up, "Lord Hokage, Kakashi Hatake is here to see you." Hiruzen nodded at this as he stopped painting. In came the silver-haired man, who was currently holding his Icha-Icha book.
"Kakashi don't tell me you are here for our secretive book club, in the middle of the day? If that's the point then sorry as I forgot my books back at the Sarutobi compound." Hiruzen replied taking a puff from his pipe as Kakashi chuckled, closing his book. "No no I'm not here for that, Lord Hokage. I'm just here to talk about Asashi's situation." hearing that Hiruzen tapped his table twice as all the Anbu on Hokage duty just went away.
Using a little wind jutsu, Hiruzen closed the door as he stood up from his chair. "Well was is that you want to do?" Hiruzen asked Kakashi who just shrugged. "I'm not sure, it's not like I wanted to be a father but I don't know where to start in the first place."
"You can start by telling the council the story we spoke about. That way not to make them suspicious." Hiruzen stated as Kakashi stayed silent. "That's understood but what about the fact he's here? What will we do with him?"
"Well it's up to him Kakashi, I shall ask him if he wants to be a shinobi for the Leaf. I mean technically he is since he has a Leaf headband but it's better to ask him for confirmation. He can live with you if you want as he's your son."
"Live with me?! Why me!"
"He's your son that's why. Who else would you want him to live with?"
"Yeah...but my apartment can only accommodate one person. But if you want him to be fine we can make him live in the apartment next door to me, it's currently vacant due to the previous owner moving to another place." Kakashi recommended.
"That could work, he'll at least have a place to stay. Now I see since he's a genin we can't send him back to the academy without a test of his skills as a shinobi so Kakashi after you moved him into his new apartment, make him have a test with you and report back to me." Kakashi nodded as just then the door was opened.
"Sorry to barge in Lord Hokage but the council is gathered for the meeting you asked for." the assistant stated. "Thank you for telling me, you may go." with that, the woman left as Kakashi and Hiruzen went to the meeting room. Entering everyone that was talking went silent when Hiruzen walked in, he stopped at the head of the table as Kakashi went to the side.
"Good day everyone, today I've called upon the Civilian council and shinobi council on a very interesting matter." everyone in the room that didn't know about the matter was rather intrigued by what Hiruzen was going to state.
"Now, yesterday during one of the D-Rank missions, Team 7 a squad led by Kakashi Hatake, had to go outside the village to do some labor work. The team finished the mission successfully but when they returned from their mission, an explosion caught their attention. Because of it, the team went to investigate the noise and when they got there they found a boy in his teenage years that looked like Kakashi." there was silence in the room as everyone just took the news.
"What do you mean like Kakashi, Lord Hokage?" Shikaku Nara, the clan head of the Nara clan and father to Shikamaru Nara asked. "The boy seemed to be a copy of Kakashi, Shikaku, now before you all think he is an enemy ninja I can assure you all he is not. If you know me I went the extra precautions to make sure he wasn't an enemy shinobi. I had Inoichi look into his mind and well Inoichi stated he didn't find anything conspicuous except for the fact he was a member of the Hatake clan."
'Cousin?' Inoichi thought in confusion as his eyes were gazed at by the third Hokage who gave him a look that he would explain later.
"Another member of the Hatake clan? Wait so Hiruzen are you telling me you brought us all here to tell us that a member of the Hatake clan was found?" Koharu asked as the man nodded. "Yes, I did. Since the boy will now take refuge in the village." Hiruzen stated.
"Are you sure it's a good thing for the boy to take refuge here Lord Hokage, he might be a spy?" Shikaku answered "Don't worry Shikaku I made sure that he wasn't a spy, turns out he is an orphan that has been running around the Land of Fire doing means end to survive. So it's a fact that he's not from an enemy village." Inoichi stated to the Nara who sighed. "Well if you say so Inoichi...I still don't understand the fact why you called the entire council together, with due respect Lord Hokage."
"I just wanted you all to be kept in the loop you know, I need to follow the rules of the First Hokage besides that way you all wouldn't be surprised when a younger carbon copy of Kakashi is running around the village."
"So what shall happen to him Lord Hokage? Will he be taken back to the academy?" one of the civilian council memebrs asked. "Well that will be seen, as he will be tested on his teamwork capabilities, he's a bit older than the new crop of genin but he'll be put into one of the teams if he shows that he has the skills." Hiruzen concluded "Anyway since all of you are here already are there any other things you would like to talk about?" a lot of people raised their hands as Hiruzen sighed. 'This is going to be a long meeting.' he thought.
