Davis and the others have arrived in Italy to take on another branch of Rogue Nirvana. They soon learned that they would be going against Sierra's father, Rico Monomia, who is also the head scientist in the development of the Shadow Units. All of them are worried about how Sierra is going to handle that situation since Sierra is a victim of abuse. She's doing her best to remain strong, especially since she's with Davis, but it won't be easy.
"There it is." Davis said. He and Sierra remained on Raidramon as they spotted the lab was just up ahead. Inside there is where they develop the Shadow Units, as well as Sierra's father.
"So, what's the plan?" Raidramon questioned.
"We sneak inside and try to locate Rico Monomia." Davis said. "Since he's the one we're after, we've got to figure where he is and take him. We get that leading scientist, we takeaway Rogue Nirvana's best weapon against us."
"I wonder how many Shadow Units they've made so far." Sierra said.
"They're not going to make anymore after we get done with that place." Davis claimed. "Let's go, Raidramon. We still got some time before the others show up. Let's take the opportunity to look around."
"Right. I... Hold on." Raidramon said as he looked around for something.
"What is it?" Davis asked.
"I hear something." Raidramon said. He wasn't sure what it was, but Davis and Sierra soon heard something as well. It sounded like a buzzing sound, something like a flying over their heads. They looked around for what that sound is, but they couldn't see it.
"Where is that sound coming from?" Davis questioned.
"It sounds like it's over us." Sierra said. They looked to the sky and tried to see what they were looking for, but the trees made it difficult. However, they did catch a glimpse of something as it flew right over their heads and was apparently circling around.
"What is that thing?" Davis questioned.
"I think... I think that's some sort of predator drone!" Sierra said as she couldn't believe it. The drone came back around it launched a missile right at them. Raidramon got moving as fast as he could, but the missile made impact and the shockwaves from the explosion hit them all pretty hard. Davis and Sierra were knocked off Raidramon and all three of them were knocked to the ground.
"Damn..." Davis moaned as he tried to pull himself together, but his ears were ringing and he couldn't see straight. Raidramon even turned back to Veemon and Sierra wasn't moving. Davis tried to get back up, but he couldn't. He did spot a couple guys coming out of hiding and was taking Sierra. "Hey... Put her down..." He pleaded, but the men already took her away. He bravely tried to stop him, but one of them just pushed him back down and Sierra was taken away. They all thought they came in this undetected, but it looks like they were wrong. "I've got to warn the others."
...
The Jet
"Did you all hear that explosion?" Houki said.
"I hope all of them are okay." Serene said. They all heard that explosion and none of them liked how it was working.
"Marinda... Marinda, can you hear me?" Marinda was getting contacted by Davis. She answered and had hope they were wrong about what they all heard.
"Davis, what's going on? What was that explosion?" Marinda said.
"We just got attacked... It was like they knew we were here the whole time, and they just took Sierra." Davis said.
"Damn it all." Marinda complained. "They only wanted us to think we came in here undetected, but they were aware of us being here the whole time. We walked right into a trap."
"What's the plan now?" Tatenashi questioned.
"Davis remain where you are and try to lay low." Marinda said and broke contact. "Dunois, you stay here and get some medical equipment ready. Fang and Ivakin, you two remain here and protect what we have."
"That is beneficial for us! Incoming enemy coming in from the north!" Laura called out from the top of the jet as she spotted more predator drones coming at them. All of them spotted the drones coming at them and got ready for a fight. Luckily, they didn't have to. A couple blasts shot towards the drones and hit a couple of them. They ended up exploding and threw some of the others off balance. All of them looked to see Marinda already unleashed her Tartarus so fast.
"What are the rest of you waiting for? Some sort of invitation? I told you that hell was going to break loose." Marinda said as she wasn't playing around. Neither were any of them.
...
Davis
"Stay here? No way." Davis said. He might have been told to stand down and lay low, but that's an order he has to defy. It's not like him to just stand around and do nothing either way. "Veemon, can you hear me? Can you get up?"
"Yeah..." Veemon said as he was able to get back up. "I wasn't expecting something like that. What was that anyway? Sierra called it a drone?"
"A drone is just another machine that can be piloted by remote control." Davis explained. "Even something as big as that one was just being controlled from inside that building. Doesn't matter. We still got to get in there and get Sierra out of there."
"Right." Veemon said as the two of them fought through whatever pain they were feeling and got moving.
"Just try to hang in there, Sierra. I promise I'm going to do whatever it takes to get you out of there." Davis said. Knowing what Sierra might be going through in there, he has to do everything he can to save her.
...
Sierra
Sierra still tried to pull herself together after that missile impacted and detonated. When she could finally regain her senses, she didn't feel the hard dirt or soft plants of the outside. What she felt herself laying against was hard and cold, like it was made of metal. When she finally got herself to sit up, she saw she was inside some room.
"Where am I?" Sierra questioned.
"Right where you were suppose to be, inside the lab. You're also right where you should have remained, near me." Sierra recognized that voice and it sent shivers down her spine with fear filling her body. She slowly looked behind her and saw a bunch of monitors that had camera footage of the forest, but it also had who was watching them. That man was none other than Rico himself as he turned to face his daughter.
"Papa..." Sierra said with fear obviously being heard in her voice.
"Welcome home, Sierra." Rico said as he walked closer to her. Sierra really tried her best to be brave, but facing her father in reality made that very difficult. "Stand up. The floor is not really something you should be resting on." Sierra just did what he said and got back up no matter how much pain he was feeling. "I'm sorry about that. I asked that you be brought to me as soon as possible."
"You... You knew I was here? How?" Sierra questioned.
"Did you really think we wouldn't have the area under surveillance." Rico said. He moved closer to his daughter with her getting scared on what he might do to her. She was expecting a hit, but he actually gently wrapped his arm around her and held her close to him. "Regardless of the circumstances, it's good to have you back, Sierra. I knew it wouldn't have been a good idea to send you to I.S. Academy. Although, I'm most disappointed with you, Sierra."
"You are?" Sierra said as she was afraid of what he do because of that.
"You were suppose to bring me data on the two male I.S. pilots; find out why they can pilot those units when no other male can. That's why I sent you to that academy in the first place." Rico said. "You never reported back. You never gave me anything. Did you really think you could just disappear on me like that?" He said as he tightened his hold on her and she was worried he was going to hurt her again. "No matter. It looks like it all worked out in the end." He said and just released her.
"It has?" Sierra questioned.
"Yes. When Rogue Nirvana came to me, it provided me with many new opportunities. I was given valuable data and it allowed me to create brand new beauties." Rico said.
"You mean the Shadow Units." Sierra said.
"Exactly. Rogue Nirvana gave me what you failed to do." Rico said. "Now that you're here, it works out even better. You're back where you belong, you'll leave I.S. Academy, and the data from your I.S. and what you have learned there would be most helpful."
"You... You want me to do what?" Sierra questioned.
"Is there a problem?" Rico said as he glared right at her. Sierra just had to give in the fear she was feeling from him.
"No... It's just... Isn't it a problem since I am an I.S. user?" Sierra questioned.
"I can see the concern in that, but as long as you lose this..." Rico said as he tapped against her hairband. "...there's not much problem. Rogue Nirvana is just looking for equality. If you're not a pilot anymore, there's less to worry about." Sierra didn't like this at all, but she felt powerless. Being in his presence brings back all those painful memories she had, tried to run from. Now, it seems like she can't escape him. She just had no ground to stand on. Suddenly, alarms were going off. Rico looked to the monitors and saw Marinda and the others coming at them. "It would seem your former friends are coming to the rescue. Let's go."
"Go where?" Sierra asked as Rico started moving.
"They'll have a hard time getting inside here. It gives me the chance to try out another new weapon I have." Rico said. "Come along now, my daughter." Sierra felt like she had to. When your the victim of an abuser, you feel compelled to do what they say when you don't have the strength to stand against them.
...
Outside
Marinda and the others showed up at the lab. They were ready to just charge in and storm the place.
"So, what's the plan?" Houki questioned.
"What plan? Just get in there and tear the place apart." Marinda said. "If you see the professor, take him prisoner. Everything else is collateral damage." That sounded good to all of them. Suddenly, an alarm was going off on the outside of the building. It was then a bunch of compartment were opening up over the whole building with railguns and other cannons coming out with people operating them.
"What the hell is this?" Ichika said.
"This isn't just a lab, it's a fortress." Marinda said. All of sudden, they opened fired on all of them with all of them dodging everything they could. Meanwhile, Davis and Veemon were down below and saw what was happening.
"Should we get up there and help?" Veemon questioned.
"I'm sure they can all handle it. We need to find Sierra." Davis said as he looked around for a way inside. He then got an idea to use one of the opened compartments to do that. That's why he unleashed Dragonic Heaven for a moment and knocked someone out of their seat. That took care of one weapon and allowed him and Veemon to get inside. Hopefully, they can make it before it's too late. "I'm coming, Sierra. Just try and hang in there."
...
Sierra
Sierra was brought to a hidden chamber in the lab. It didn't look like there was anything in there, but it was a little dark to see anything. The only light in there was one that was coming in from under the floor.
"What are we doing here?" Sierra asked.
"Patience, Sierra. All will be revealed in a moment." Rico said. "First, I would like to talk to you about something. You obviously have gotten close to Motomiya and Orimura. I'm fully aware of what you've done with your new little friends."
"Yes, I figured you would have since you're part of Rogue Nirvana." Sierra said.
"How close would you say you're with Motomiya?" Rico asked.
"Um... I say we are good friends. He was the first one I befriended." Sierra said.
"That's great! Of course, you don't really need friends." Rico said. "From what I am hearing, he does seem to trust you. You can use that." Sierra didn't seem to like what he was implying. He moved closer and whispered it in her ear. "I want you to kill him." That was the biggest shock to Sierra. "Since he trusts you, he won't see it coming. I want you to kill him and bring me his I.S."
"His. I.S.?" Sierra questioned.
"It could be most useful in my data and research. On top of that, he seems to be quite the nuisance to Rogue Nirvana." Rico said. "Just go and kill him when you have the chance." He was asking her to kill the guy that she has strong feelings for. Davis was the one that made her feel safe and protected. Davis was the one that made her feel welcome. Davis was the first person she connected to and brought her all the good things she has in her life like friends. This man really is trying to ruin every aspect of her life. Sierra can't be strong for herself, but Davis is another matter. She said he gives her strength and that strength is coming out.
"No... No, I won't!" Sierra said as she pushed him back. Rico wasn't expecting that.
"What did you just say?" Rico questioned.
"I will do no such thing. Especially for the likes of you!" Sierra said. "I might have been afraid of you before, but not this time! I.S. Academy has made me stronger, and I refuse to let you hurt Davis!"
"Sierra, I am your father." Rico said with him not liking what she was doing.
"You do not act like a father! You are a monster!" Sierra said as she was finally standing her ground against him, but Rico wasn't having any of it as he grabbed her by the neck.
"Sierra, you know what happens when you talk back to me!" Rico said. "You will do as I say!"
"No, I won't." Sierra said as she tried to stay strong. She refuses to let her father have his way this time.
"Sierra, you are my daughter! You belong to me!" Rico shouted as he tightened his grip on her. Suddenly, someone grabbed his arm with them all seeing it was Davis, and he was plenty mad.
"Let go of her!" Davis demanded. It's time to get payback at the monster for all he's done.
...
Davis: It's time this guy goes down for all that he's done to Sierra. He might have some fancy weapons and a big brain, but he's going down. I told Sierra that I wasn't going to let her father hurt her again and that's exactly what I plan to do.
Next Time: Pain and Love
I'm tired of people hurting my friends. It ends now.
