Chapter 4: Missing Carrie
Location: Chamberlain, Maine
It was not the same for the whole of Chamberlain, Maine, ever since that tragic prom night, less than a week ago, when Carrie White was humiliated and killed… It had become a silent Ghost Town… No one had moved away, but nearly everyone was mourning Carrie, every student, every parent, every teacher… It was bad enough they all mocked, bullied, and tormented Carrie, leading up to her end, but to learn of what her mother was really like at home, made the pain even worse, seeing they could have all prevented this, and made a difference, but it was now too late…
All the students at the school, missed their graduation ceremony, as Principal Morton had cancelled it, even when the students were to go and collect their graduation certificates from the certificates, none of the students turned up… and even when the school mailed them, they just rejected the certificates, most of them even destroyed their certificates… They all once had bright futures, but with the burden of Carrie White's life of humiliation, leading up to her Death at their hands, they all threw their futures away, seeing no point of a future, as Carrie never got the chance to have one… Nearly every student became a recluse after Prom Night, they never left their houses, or even their bedrooms, all they did was cry and mourn for Carrie, even when their parents tried to calm them down, it didn't change the outcome…
The only ones in Chamberlain who weren't mourning Carrie, were the selfish ones who killed her: Chris Hargensen & Billy Nolan, as well as Chris's family. Chris may have been bailed out of going to Prison by her father, but he was furious with his daughter, knowing she was indeed responsible for Carrie's death, as well as her being expelled from school, and making him look like a really bad parent… most, if not all of Chris's friends had turned on her, especially Sue Snell, seeing how selfish & uncaring Chris really was… most of the town would shout and chant horrid names, whenever they saw Chris, some even threatened to do all sorts of bad things to her, very much like all the bullying and torment she dealt out to Carrie… Although Chris now felt what it was really like, to be Carrie White, she didn't care, she wouldn't admit she was the one in the wrong, she even tried to shift the blame on Sue, seeing it was her, who began to see differently to Chris herself…
Billy was also released from prison, along with Jackie & Kenny, when were more co-operative, as well as there was not enough evidence to charge them. But despite being free, Jackie and Kenny wanted nothing to do with Billy, being friends or part of his gang anymore, or Chris even…
As for Sue, Tommy, George, Erika, Tina, Nicki, Lizzy, Heather, and several others who were friends with Chris, including Rachel Spies, Anissa Chen & Jessica Upshaw, along with the former gym Teacher: Rita Desjardin, & The School Principal: Henry Morton, they were all devastated over Carrie's demise, as well as Disgusted that Chris and Billy weren't getting sent down for it, but what really worried and upset them, was when they heard of Carrie's body mysteriously disappearing from the ambulance that took her body away… Since then, they'd all been in contact with some other friends, who had also come to chamberlain, and they also heard of what had happened, and were also saddened from what was told by them, but were also concerned about Carrie's body disappearance too…
Outside the school, Sue, Tommy, Rita, and everyone else, who was sorry for Carrie, was standing outside the school, along with their other friends: A Blue hedgehog with green eyes and red snickers, a yellow Twin Tailed fox with blue eyes and Red & White shoes, a Red Echidna with purple eyes, spiked fists, and matching boots, a Pink hedgehog with a red dress and matching shoes and golden rings on her wrists, a White bat with purple who wore a black bodysuit, and white boots, with lots of heart trim, and matching gloves, a Red bulky Robot, with yellow, black and green trim, a Cream white and Orange/brown Rabbit who had brown eyes, wore a lavender and white dress with a burgundy vest and matching shoes, her daughter, another rabbit, who also had cream white and orangey colors, and cinnamon brown eyes, just like her mother, but she wore a small Vermilion Dress with a white collar, she also had a small blue chao hovering by her.
Everyone was standing outside the gym hall of the school, looking down at more flowers, pictures and gifts of mourning that had been placed all around the school, mourning the loss of the late Carrie White… as well as them all placing more out for Carrie…
"I can't believe that everyone here was just so mean to one of their own residences…" The Blue hedgehog said, in a mixture of sorrow and disappointment.
"And to think that her own mother was just horrible to her own Daughter… Poor Carrie…" The mother Rabbit sighed in sorrow aswell…
"I wish we could all take it back Vanilla… I honestly wish I'd got to Chris and stopped her… It's my fault…" Sue said in a similar tone…
"No Sue, It's my fault… I should have realized you were trying to save Carrie, just as much I was…" Rita said in guilt…
"We should have really thought twice about what Chris was planning… We never thought about the dangers it had… but now it's too late…" Tina mourned with regret…
"It's absolutely disgusting, the fact that Chris and Billy aren't getting sent down for their crime! If it was my way, they'd be locked up for good!" The Red Echidna said sternly, with his arms crossed with disappointment.
"Well, at least we know what they're really like, even if the courts have been fooled by their lies, it won't change how we all see those two…" The white bat said.
"What's more concerning, is how Carrie's body just disappeared from the ambulance…" The yellow fox said in concern and confusion…
"I wish we knew Tails; I just hope we find out what happened to Carrie soon…" Tommy said in concern and confusion as well…
As everyone continued to stand and mourn for Carrie, they still wondered how Carrie's body had gone missing… But the Bat (Rouge), she wondered if someone had taken Carrie's body… Rouge had doubts that the ambulance crew had anything to do with the disappearance… but then she thought…
"Shadow…" Rouge whispered quietly, before she looked up to the sky…
Rouge knew that her that she and Omega, or practically anyone she knew, had seen Shadow for quite some time, but she knew ever since Maria & Gerald had been revived as hedgehogs, Shadow had been going around the world with Maria, but what if Shadow & Maria had recently been to Chamberlain… Could they have seen or known anything about Carrie's disappearance? But if so, why?
"Rouge? Are you ok?" Tina asked in concern, as she looked up as well, to see what Rouge was looking at, as everyone else turned and wondered too…
"I'm just wondering… I know he's not been around much lately… But I wonder if he knows anything…" Rouge pondered…
"He?" Tommy asked in concern.
"Do you mean Shadow?" The Blue Hedgehog (Sonic) asked in concern too.
"Shadow? Who's Shadow?" Sue asked in concern and wonder also…
(Meanwhile…)
Location: Space Colony Ark, Earth's Orbit
Carrie was still sleeping, as Shadow & Maria kept watch and care over her, making sure she was ok, in case she had more terrible nightmares and visions…
*Inside Carrie's Dream*
All Carrie could see… was nothing… Nothing but darkness… all around her… as she looked all around… that is… until she could hear something echoing quietly… as she looked all around again, this time in worry…
"Hello?" Carrie asked, as her voice echoed all around through the darkness…
The echoing sound began to get louder, and louder… but there were sounds too, which were also getting louder and louder…
The Darkness began to slowly be illuminated, by what could be described, as fragments of shining red glass, which were projecting all sorts of terrible visions…
One shard showed a human girl, panicking in the showers, bleeding, as everyone else just laughed and laughed at her, while chanting 'Plug it up' repeatedly…
Another Shard the same human girl being attacked by an older woman, before being locked in a closet, as she screamed and pleaded to be set free…
But the next shard, showed the human girl again, this time on stage with a boy, but she had been covered in blood, as footage of the shower incident was playing on a screen nearby, causing everyone to laugh and laugh again…
Though laughs and screams all got so loud, that Carrie could neither understand any of it, nor take anymore of what she was seeing or hearing, as she grabbed her head until she screamed so loud, the shards of Glass shattered…
*Nightmare Ends*
Carrie shot up from her nightmare, gasping in fright, before breathing heavily, rapidly & repeatedly, as Shadow & Maria jumped from her shooting up, before trying comfort and calm her down…
"Carrie, Carrie it's ok… It's ok…" Maria said she gently stroked and hugged her daughter…
"Who am I? Why can't I remember anything?" Carrie asked in confusion, before she broke down again, as Maria & Shadow hugged her more…
As much as Shadow didn't say much, he was heartbroken, not just from when he witnessed Carrie's human death, but to see Carrie all sad and confused, with no memories, was just devastating, knowing he, Maria & Gerald had too all suffered through the same… as more tears formed in his eyes…
