Hiruzden Sarutobi held his eyes closed his contemplation his mind replaying the report and request of one of his most elite shinobis. He thought about the report of the wave mission, how Kakashi and his team went against shinobi protocol for a random village and the fights they had participated in.

It both frustrated and amused the old Hokage.

It frustrated him because both the jounin and his students should have known better than to go on such a blatantly dangerous mission without informing others and calling for backup. The entirety of team 7 had, unintentionally, put themselves and the village at risk whilst simultaneously almost losing two of its most prized posessions, the Kyuubi and the Sharingan, and while the Sarutobi didn't see the two boys as the weapons people made them out to be as a millitery commander and leader he could very well see the importance of the boys.

On the flip side however he was amused because it was in character for Naruto to suggest that they help the people of wave and how easily his teammates acquiesced to his demands.

Speaking of Naruto...

"You wish to have him off your team?" Hiruzen's tone was level and face betrayed none of his thoughts.

Kakashi nodded, face almost as equally impassive as the Hokage. "Hai Hokage-sama, as stated from what I have reported Naruto Uzumaki is not in the right state to become a shinobi of the village, not yet atleast."

"Elaborate." Was the shinobi's only response.

"From what I have observed Naruto's mental health is rather poor, with his physical health currently falling as with each day. He has shown signs of having internal injuries of unknown origin and is beginning to suffer from insomnia. His aptitude for combat is, for lack of a better words, odd. He shows to prefer and even have a talent for taijutsu but it's sloppy, uncoordinated and seems to rely heavily on instinct, His ninjutsu is much less the same as again he has an affinity for it but lacks the drive or patience to learn a jutsu unless he absolutely wants to and his genjutsu is a non factor as he cant use illusory jutsus." Kakashi finished off his observations of the boy.

"There's more you are holding." Hiruzen stated.

"Hai Hokage." Kakashi agreed. "HIs controll of the kyuubi has also been put into question as he had utilized it and another odd chakra during his rampage on the bridge." Kakashi paused and seemed to hesitate to say the next for words, before opting to just get it over with.

"He also seems to have unlocked a dojutsu."

...

Silence filled the office as the Hiruzen replayed those words in his head.

"Come again?" Hiruzen asked, his impassive mask fading away and was now replaced with one of curiousity and slight concern.

"During the battle on the bridge his eyes were of two designs." Kakashi spoke a bit easier now that the tense atmosphere from before was gone. "His right eye had shown the influence of the Kyuubi's chakra on his body though his left one had been a metallic silver with a five pointed star." He said.

Once more silence filled the office as the one eyes shinobi awaited his leaders response, though he didn't have to wait to long.

"Your request to have Naruto removed from the shinobi program will be taken into consideration, you may take your leave."

"Hai Hokage-sama" And with that the old fire shadow was left with no one but himself.

He leaned back and his chair and his shoulders sagged. "I'm sorry young Naruto." He muttered to himself. His appearance as a strong and wise leader fading away and leaving only a tired old man in the wake of it's departure.

He knew the council would jump at this opportunity to throw him out of the shinobi program. That, or they'll strap him to table and prod his body for the secrets of this supposed bloodline.

He didn't wan't to think about them trying to hand him over to Danzo, no, that wouldn't be a possibility.

An idea struck the village leader,. It wasn't the best idea, he admitted, but it was better than having the boy thrown into a cell and being left at the mercy of the villagers without his say so.

Hiruzen pulled out a scroll from his desk and wrote a quick message to his old student.

"This is for the best." He said, rolling up the scroll before summoning a messenger pigeon. "I hope you will understand my decision, Naruto."

He slumped in his seat after the pigeon left, he seamed to age far beyond want his years would imply. Gone was the Kami no Shinobi and in it's wake, was an old, tired man.

Steeling himself moments later, Hiruzen stood up, steeling himself to face the council.

He just hoped he wouldn't come to regret this decision like the rest.

A/N: hey its been a while huh, well i haven't been able to update this story nearly as much as I would have liked because my laptop is broken.
