A/N, um sorry about the last chapter I did!!!! My computer went crazy so I now have 2 start again

Kaila glanced around cautiously, peering into the shadows of the castle, making sure no
one was watching. "Come on!" she hissed at her younger brother, Heda.
Heda stepped slowly up beside her, his face nervous and twitching, and still bruised from
yesterday's beating. "Are you sure we should do this?" he whispered, "If someone finds out..."
"No one will find out!" Kaila, though she sounded so sure of herself, was not sure at all. The
moonlight shone on her pale face, and Heda, glancing at her, realized that if they failed
this one last escape, they would be food for the dogs. He gulped nervously. "Is the coast
clear?" Looking round for one last time, Kaila took a deep breath a muttered
"Yes. RUN FOR IT!!!"
They both, at the same time, leapt off from the high wall where they had been crouching,
and ran frantically towards the woods. "Not...much...longer" Kaila panted. She spoke too
soon however, because the sentry suddenly appeared, and rang his alarm bell as hard as he could.
"Escape! Escape! Youngest Diafurds escaping!" A hoard of wide awake and menacing guards poured
out of the gates towards them. Heda started to gasp in fright, "I can't make it! Go on
without me!"
"No! Come on, we can make it! We're only a bit away from the Diafurd border!" Heda just shook
his head, and collapsed. Kaila stopped in her tracks and tried to pick him up.
"Please Heda, please?" she was sobbing by this time, "I don't want you to die."
Heda raised a hand, his pale green gift with flecks of gold was shining on his hand.
With all the force he could muster, he shoved at her with all the force of his gift,
and Kaila's slender form went flying over the trees and across the border of fief Diafurd.
She scrambled to her feet, and tried to force her way through the trees back to her younger
brother. But it was too late. She knew that she would never be able to forget the horrible
sound of his dying screams. Kaila curled herself up into a tight miserable ball,
and tried to sleep. "I'll need some rest for tomorrow, got..to..get...to..corus..tell..king"
and with that she drifted up into an uneasy sleep, in an unknown fief.
Don't forget to review!!! It's gonna get more interesting don't worry, and I WILL explain
exactly who Kaila is etc. and im planning to have a certain young man/men come into the picture
soon. Give me any advice on who it should be!!
