The Scrapyard Chapter 27: Dropped ideas: Summer Clearing 2022, a x-overs fanfic

Another season, another set of stories being retired. As you know, I come up with a bunch of ideas but sometimes they just never come to fruition. There are many reason behind this, for example I'm no longer interested in the series, the idea is unfeasible, or I hit a roadblock so hard it makes it impossible to proceed anymore. In this entry for the Scrapyard, I have a bunch of story ideas that sort of fit all those criteria and more. As usual, I will copy and paste all text from the file at its current state, some of which including some initial text that I had written outside of the prefaces I always do explaining the idea and what general concept I have in mind. As always, if any of these ideas interest you, please feel free to take them up. So, without further ado, so begins the summer cleanup for 2022.

So, I had a duo of ideas that are directly related to each other. They are both reincarnation fics, but the thing that makes them different from each other is who is getting reincarnated. And as such you will see this intro on both fics. But let me get started on the idea's premise.

As we all know, on this site, there are a lot of reincarnation fics on this website. Some good, some not so good. And I, like many other people, have an idea. Ironically, or not (drunk me is writing this intro), I had this idea while taking a shower. What was this idea? Well, the pair of ideas was what if Naruto and Hinata were reborn into Harry and another person, and then vice versa of Harry and another reborn into Naruto and Hinata? And so, this idea was born.

So, one of the big things is that I need to decide how the systems of magic and ninjutsu work in each world, if they even do at all. After all, one of the big thing is to balance the world so that there is a sense of danger and of course, tension.

Summary: After a peaceful end, Naruto begins the cycle of life anew in a new body in a new world where ninjas were assassins of legend with his wife Hinata following him.

Rating: T is planned for now, no idea for later.

Reason for abandoning: This idea was going to be a reincarnation fic that went both ways. The second entry is actually the other half of it.

Summary: When Harry died, he expected to enter whatever afterlife there was, he didn't expect to be reborn into a world of ninjas where he's a hated blonde kid.

Reason for abandoning: As mentioned before, this was going to be a two-part idea released one after the other, but I just lost interest in it. I'm unsure if I just lost interest in Naruto or what.

So, I've been playing a lot of Breath of the Wild as of late and had an idea, that being what if the world of the 1990s is eons after the exploits in the Child Timeline where the Hero of the Rails, the Link in Spirit Tracks, defeats Malladus. The entire Zelda saga has always worked off a set of constants and variables. There's always a descendant of Hylia involved always named Zelda, a Hero chosen by the gods with the Spirit of Courage named Link, and an evil entity which embodies Demise's wrath (Ganondorf, Ganon, Zant, Malladus, etc.). And I started to brainstorm who would embody these traits outside in other properties. So, I sat on this one for a while. I, in the meantime, read a lot of Harry Potter/Legend of Zelda fanfics, some good and some bad as the usual, and came to a conclusion. Harry as is embodies the Spirit of the Hero. Voldemort/Tom Riddle embodies the cunning wrath of Demise with the hatred of anything good or just humanity in general. The only other one that I sort of was stuck on was the "blood of the Goddess" aspect, so I sat on this idea longer. So long, in fact, this was about the time that I had actually purchased a Switch and Breath of the Wild to play myself which brought this idea back to the forefront of my mind.

Who of all the girls in the Potter-verse, whether they be love interests or not, embodies the Spirit of Wisdom? Ginny is out as she's written as she's more impulsive and follows her gut, or at least as she is portrayed in-universe as well as fics that don't have her as a villain/antagonist. Hermione is a decent candidate, but she has more Book Smarts™ rather than actual Wisdom. The reason I mention this as in Dungeons and Dragons (as well as many other RPGs) Intelligence and Wisdom are separate skill trees which have different effects. Intelligence can be seen as being learned and smart in the realm of education; but Wisdom is seen as knowing how to use what you know towards your advantage or towards a peoples' benefit. So, TL;DR, Hermione is out. Who's next? We have Luna. She's a bit aloof and does provide information to Harry when he needs it. A decent candidate, to say the least, and she's a fan favorite. But who else do we have?

There at least three others that are fairly liked by the community. That being Daphne, Fleur, and Gabrielle. Let's start with the easiest, that being Gabrielle. We know nothing about her personality other than she does have a crush on canon Harry after the Lake event in Goblet of Fire; not even the panned play went into her possible thing she had for him that she had to get over. Since her personality wasn't really gone into, she could be a viable candidate if some creative liberties are taken; essentially, a blank slate. Next is Fleur, Gabrielle's elder sister. She also appears to be fairly headstrong and does appear to use common sense and intelligence in her canon work as a curse breaker. Also, a fairly strong candidate right out of the gate. Finally, we have Daphne. She is sort of known as an "Ice Queen" in her own house, is cunning and smart. However, the difference between her canon and fanfic versions of herself sort of blend together so it's hard to tell what was originally the author's intended vision of her, and what is "death of the author" speculation. Still a valid candidate and fan favorite.

Finally, this needs to be addressed before someone brings it up, is appearance. Zelda, at least in all of her gaming appearances, has always appeared as a blonde haired, blue eyed woman since Hylia. The only Zelda game that did not follow this appearance trend was Twilight Princess with the brunette iteration that was colder and calculating and was more of a warrior-queen than princess. This is the main reason I'm not putting any restriction on character appearance nor am I limiting it strictly to love interests as well as in only maybe 2 Zelda games do we ever see romantic chemistry between Link and Zelda, that being Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild (albeit the latter being more in flashbacks and told by secondhand sources); in the others it's left more up to interpretation, but a fairly well accepted theory is that the Hero of Time married Malon and had a child that would be the ancestor to the Link in Twilight Princess. And let's be honest, if I purely limited it to just love interests, Cho would make a horrible Zelda as she is written as well as many of the other girls.

Given the fact that in the listed potential candidates (Fleur, Gabrielle, and Luna), at least three of them won't appear until Act 2 at least. However, one does appear, and that's Daphne. As this is only a pilot that will only cover a few plot points listed below, there is still time to consider who would make the best "Zelda" reincarnation and other specifics like that.

Here is the general roadmap that I would want to cover should this become a thing:
1. Worldbuilding establishing that the world of HP is the future of the lands of Hyrule.
2. Harry being born to parents with a prophecy (would need to reword the prophecy to work).
3. Voldemort's attack and an intervention by the Golden Goddesses prevents his death, seals Voldemort's true form in the Sacred Realm for a time, and marking Harry as the eventual Hero (no Triforce of Courage).
4. Skipping straight to Hogwarts year 1. Memories and exposition would be used to show upbringing and more worldbuilding.
5. Covering the major events of the first book/movie.
6. Year 2 skip to, same as year 1 covering the summer through exposition as not much would happen.
7. Continue onwards until the resurrection of Voldemort.
8. The Grand Journey and recovery/earning of the Triforce of Courage.
9. Eventual defeat of Voldemort.

Title:

Rating: T at the most to begin with. Anything more than that will have to be decided on later.

Summary: Always a Hero chosen by the gods. Always a princess with the Blood of the Goddess. Always a reincarnation of the Demon King. Eons after the Hero of the Rail's exploits, time rolls on and we come to the current world where the tales of the Heroes of Legend are passed down to children as tales of good triumphing over evil. But with the birth of one Harry Potter, the cycle starts anew with the Spirit of the Hero being brought to fight with the descendant of Hylia against the forces of Demise's reincarnation.

Reason for abandonment: I was unsure how to pull this off, exactly. As you know, the Legend of Zelda is a bit more of an adventure where the Hero is pretty much solo and is joined at times by individuals who has him help them in return for something. Like, for example, Link clears out the Lyonel for the Zora so Dorephan can allow Sidon to assist Link in getting to Vah Rutah, and so on. There are a lot of variables involved to the point where I'd have to outright skip to that for something interesting to start, otherwise, I'd be basically retreading the grounds of Potter Lore with some Hyrule sprinkled in here and there. All in all, a boring read for a pilot.

I've worked on a lot of ideas for this repository over the years, and none of them have been more divisive than the series known as Kuroinu. The series is known for being in some peoples' top ten lists of anime/VNs that they hate with a passion, mainly due to the subject matter. And trust me, I get it. This series, which is also true for VN/h-doujin series such as Bible Black, Euphoria, and the granddaddy of them all for the "oh dear God" reaction: Metamorphosis has a pretty bad connotation with it. Let's be honest, the reaction description provided is probably more of a Junji Ito-type situation, but you get the point. And to get back on topic as well, considering I have yet to give the concept of this chapter's idea.

For the last two ideas I've put out (not including individual chapters or x-overs, purely Kuroinu by itself) I've covered an Olga/Chloe x m!OC pairing and another m!OC setup that may involve Alicia or Maia, at the time of writing this intro I still haven't decided for that specific story plot. But that being said, when I closed out that latter idea, I mentioned possibly doing a separate idea for a Celestine pairing. This is that idea. This being said, I needed to also figure out how to set it up. Previously I did a sheriff in a small countryside town and a marine. So, I sat on this idea for a long time. Well, not as long as you might thing, but long enough to get an idea for what I want to do.

I ran across an idea for a Kuroinu story a little while back where a previous civilization used to exist on what is now Eostia and a scientific expedition takes place to look at one of the cities that were buried underneath a mountain essentially. That specific story is called "Kuroinu – Rise of the guardian" by websplorer (id: 13731829) and it has an interesting concept. I won't ruin it but that's in the beginning so I'm not spoiling anything. Check it out if you desire to. But I'm going to take an idea out of their book and I think it'll work for what I'm thinking. So, what am I thinking? The previous civilization is a near future Earth that suffered a cataclysm which reset us. Before said cataclysm people were put into cryogenic vaults to preserve what was left of the human race. Well, it worked but civilization was reset. Eventually, we find our hero awakening from his unknown-amount-of-time nap in a world that both is his but not his. Things are both familiar and unfamiliar.

Summary: With a cataclysm in our near future, life on Earth ceases to exist. Those who emerged from the Vaults repopulated and resettled the changed, new world. Millennia passed and the life kept finding a way to continue in different ways. A man way out of time wakes up from his Vault which had a mechanical malfunction to find a world way different than the world he left behind.

Rating: Unknown because the source material is an h-doujin/hentai, but be assumed that it is mature.

"Do you remember the first time we met?" a gruff male voice asked as his fingertips traced over a woman's bare back.

"I certainly do," a regal woman's voice replied as she shivered under her lover's touch. "How could I forget? What was considered an ancient relic awakening once again bringing Eostia into a new age after the Troubles could hardly be forgotten." The two of them looked over a balcony as once fantastical technologies zipped across the cityscape below. She climbed on top of him and straddled him, his hardened member slipping inside her folds as she shivered in pleasure. Her hands rested on her extremely pregnant belly. "After all, how could I forget what you've given me too."

Many, MANY years ago…

"You are the best and brightest of our species. Your survival is paramount. This is why you've been assembled here," an announcer called out. He pointed to a screen that had graphics going over it. "In a few minutes you will be taken by our medical staff to be injected with nanomachines that will preserve your body while in cryostasis." A side-by-side graphic showed the nanomachines protecting the cells where the other showed them getting iced up and exploding.

Reason for abandonment: I could never really get this one off the ground, it just stalled out right at the beginning. I may revisit this one day, but it may be a while. And by revisit, I do mean a Celestine-centric story.

I have an odd idea. You know me, I like weird ideas that may not have been thought of before, but this initial idea is odd even for me. So far, you've seen me cover some interesting Legend of Zelda ideas, this one is no different. The origin of this idea came from me watching meme compilations of all things. Then I had the following odd idea: what if Zelda, specifically from Breath of the Wild (as that is the most recent iteration of the series), was brought into our world where the current incarnation of the Hero's spirit is has taken hold of a meme-shitposting CSI officer.

The big things that I want to accomplish is a fish-out-of-water story where Zelda has to deal with our modern world and all of the insanity that a post-resource scarcity society (at least in terms of food) has and how it is so different from where she came from. Then, not only that, but the Link of this world having to deal with a princess that has no power and nowhere to go while involved in a possible crime. I thought this was an interesting idea and now I'm putting it into action.

Reason for abandonment: Same as the previous one, I couldn't get this one off the ground. I think this one had a similar vibe to a CSI/Full Metal Alchemist story I came across some time ago (it's been a few years now) where the Elrics got sent to the "real world" and had to live in it until they found a way back. I guess I was going for a similar vibe and it just fell through.

Well... you guys know better by now, I have another idea. I really have to come up with a better way of opening these things. I really do. You guys that come here for my random shit must be getting tired of the same opening. ...I'll see what I can do on that front. Regardless! I do have another idea. So one of my first animes that I can remember (excluding Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Naruto as I didn't know the distinction between anime and cartoon as a teen until I met some anime fans) was the Zero no Tsukaima or "The Familiar of Zero" (or Zero's Familiar depending on the translator and their English preference). All being said though I quite enjoyed that anime, even though it was four seasons long and I had to watch it via torrent and sort of sketchy streaming sites (due to the fact I was a poor teenager and Crunchyroll and other legit sites either didn't exist or had very limited options).

Now at the time of this writing there are 18 crossovers total for Harry Potter and Familiar of Zero. Now, up until recently, I've forgotten this anime was still around. But that changed when I saw a Fallout/FoZ crossover called "Magic and Steel" by nivlac (id: 11328476). I know it's a Fallout story, but seeing it reminded me of this series and due to the fact that both HP and FoZ have magic, it sort of made sense to make a story, or at least a pilot, inside of it like many others have in the past. What's sad is that the last update to this category was November of 2016 and the last "good" one in August of 2016 with some going back as far as 2011 that haven't been updated. So sad *shakes head*.

Where am I going with this? Well, there was a SW/HP crossover that I saw, but honestly abandoned, that had an interesting idea: Harry is a Grim Reaper, an agent of Death. And I was like "hmm, that's an interesting idea..." and thought that this would be an interesting idea to work off of. But then shortly after that I had another revelation that I would never be able to really do that concept justice. So, after doing some more thinking I had the following thought: what if Harry was native to the FoZ world? I mean, it would work. Both worlds have magic. But how would I implement that?

So, after doing some more thinking I was able to figure out a rough idea that I wanted to work with that I think that would work without too much breaking of the suspension of disbelief. So, what I came up with was that Harry's grandparents, seeing the future and what would happen to the Potter family because of Voldemort and his Death Eaters, brought their family to Albion in the FoZ world. Lily, belongs to the FoZ world and marries James being the first magician in her family, an oddity in the FoZ world. Harry is then born into the Noble house of Potter and when he gets old enough goes to the same magical school that Louise goes to.

Why do this? It gives me more freedom to explore the FoZ universe without it being a pure piggyback fic, a fic where you pretty much follow the source content almost word for word with injected characters making comments and other things, sometimes said characters serve as the audience analogue mouthpiece (like calling BS on something in particular that's considered par for the course in that universe). It also allows me to explore more things without purely relying on the manga or anime for content, rather, using it as a timeline guideline and general guide for the universe being explored for characters and events.

And with that (not so) quick clarification out of the way, let's get this show on the road!

Reason for abandonment: I can't even remember the original concept of this idea and what I wanted to do. Its been 4 years and I've tried numerous times to come back to it, only to fail and just stop every time. This is all I got.

Another idea from the vault that is my head.

So, I was reading one story that had a pretty good opening premise. The TL;DR version is: Harry is the reincarnation of Spartan B-312 from Halo: Reach after he dies. The longform of this is that there's a bunch of stuff happens and Harry ends up being godlike. I did not like this as it went from an interesting concept to one that everyone has done before, including me (but with different characters and properties, of course). But there was one comment that was made on that story that I agreed with. It was, and I quote since I copied and pasted it: "You've taken any interesting potential this story had in concept and flushed it down the drain in favor of pulling the same bullshit gimmick I see all the time. You might as well not even cross this story over with halo, since it is clear you would rather just do the "super!Harry with every possible bloodline shoved in him". You could have had something interesting here, where noble six has to deal with the existence of magic and being stuck in a weak child's body. Where he used spartan discipline, tactics, and cruelty with his newfound magic to combat a superior foe. He could have discovered things about himself, perhaps there could have been some interesting character development as his rigid cold mind attempts to reconcile with the impulses and emotionality of a child's brain. Instead you've filled it with stupid clichés and plotholes, and you've forgone any potential this fic had."

In short, I agreed with this sentiment made by an Anon posting. And so, I started thinking on how I could make this work myself. For the record, this was inspired by "The Lone Wolf at Hogwarts" by Hokuto Ulrik (id: 12699987), primarily the first chapter.

There will be no other Spartans reincarnated, no Forerunner tech, no UNSC stuff. Only Spartan B-312 and allies he rallies to himself.

Summary: Death sucks, too bad Spartans never die. But all things must die, right? Well, no one told Spartan B-312 that. He too learned that death sucks, but reincarnation sucks even more.

Rating: T – M: Initially will start at T for this pilot but may go to M depending on circumstances. Mainly will be for language and possibly disturbing imagery going further on.

Reason for abandonment: Ah, yes, another "spite" fic. I had created this as an "I can do it better!" concept that completely fell through. Spite or "one-upmanship" is not a way to create a story. Inspiration? Certainly. But not this. I may come back to this one day when I feel inspired, but right now I'm just not feeling it, Mr. Krabs.

Alright, another one. Cue the DJ Kaleed meme.

So, what do I have for you guys this time? If you looked at the heading you would have seen that this is a Harry Potter/KanColle (Kantai Collection) crossover fic. Many of you know what Harry Potter is, as it's a worldwide phenomenon as well as one of the staple fics that I use as a crossover diving board. Hey, I'm a guy that likes his Potter, I grew up with the series. But what is KanColle? Well, the whole concept behind Kantai Collection (KanColle) is that there are girls who possess the spirits of long-gone naval vessels who fight an ambiguous enemy known as the Abyssals. These girls don the weapons and roles that their ship had while it was in service. And these girls go to a specialized school which teaches them not only the basics, but also naval warfare and how to fight these Abyssals which are plaguing the seas which makes it hard on humanity as a whole.

So where am I going with this? Well, in both the anime and game (originally) it focuses primarily on the Pacific theatre, specifically Japan. These ships primarily take on the spirits of Japanese vessels and as you all know the Second World War just that, worldwide. So, I was thinking of having British vessels and maybe other European vessels that served during that time to assist in the European theatre.

But here's where Harry comes in. Dumbledore, seeing the emergence of girls claiming to be the reincarnation of warships during a war in which he served to defeat both Grindlewald (and the Nazis by proxy) he investigates to see that this is caused by some sort of magic he has never seen before. He hides them from the Unspeakables and starts building a navy. Shortly after the Abyssals start appearing, Harry starts his first year. Dumbledore sees a role in which Harry can help with this much larger threat as well as how these girls could help him defeat Voldemort at the same time. And that's it, that's the whole concept. So…

Good!NotGG!Dumbles – While the plotting sort, he's not doing it for ill means, nor is he doing it for the fanfic trope of being evil and planning Harry's entire life or school experience.

Admiral!Harry – Self-explanatory, Harry will be an admiral.

Slight!Bashing – Nothing too severe, just specific stuff like actions of specific characters, stuff that readers would normally call out anyway.

I know this sounds a lot like a fic that's already on the site that goes by the name "Magic and Steel" (id: 11218226) and I do admit ahead of time that this fic was inspired by it, however, the background of the events and reasoning is completely different. I swear.

There is one thing that I do want to bring up, that being that we don't really see any British ships in Kancolle, well in the anime that is. In the game (which is only available in Japan only still) there are American and German ships, but I haven't seen any British ones. That being as such, this is where I'm going to be taking liberty with their ships. Therefore, what I will be doing is taking the character designs of the shipgirls from the Kancolle clone (and fairly enjoyable mobile game) Azure Lane. Again, this is for any British ships bearing the HMS prefix.

Reason for abandonment: Azur Lane. No, really. Azur Lane was the reason. A bit of history. So, I had been looking for Kantai Collection to play but learned you can only play it via a VPN, a JP email, and only when servers will allow you in because of server space (one of the reasons I think this series failed in the west as opposed to Azur Lane). Because I never finished the anime and couldn't play the game, I couldn't get a proper feel for the universe and just left this story in limbo forever. I may come back to it one day, but it won't be any time soon.

So… another odd one. An interesting one, but an odd one none-the-less. Ok, so I'm a follower and fan of the writing of Quatermass here on the site, check out his stuff it's pretty great, and I had an idea that I wanted to pitch him; however, he isn't one for taking on challenges from readers. Ok, to be honest, I don't either except for some special circumstances. So I decided to write on up a pilot myself on that idea.

So what is this idea? So have you heard of rebirth fics? The whole concept is that a character dies in another series, but is reborn in another series either as themselves or as another character that is considered a main character in that new series. I want you to think of this real quick: what if Grand Admiral Thrawn was reborn into the world of Harry Potter AS Harry Potter? Did your mind explode? I know mine did when I thought of that. I can honestly imagine him having a cool, calculating mind making plans upon plans to achieve his goals. I mean, the hat almost sorted him into Slytherin based on his cunning alone that he had the great potential of. But moving on.

Reason for abandonment: I had intended to create this idea ages ago when I did a few Thrawn reincarnation fics, one of which was an RWBY one; but this one never panned out. I just couldn't find a way to make this work right. It's one of those "cool in concept, maybe not so great in execution" ideas. Though, Quatermass, if you are reading this idea, maybe take a shot at this idea? (Or anyone else who wants to take a shot at it).

Ok, so a while ago I released a pilot for HP and Toaru being that Harry was Railgun, aka Mikoto Misaka. In that same document, I mentioned an idea where I might explore something similar with Accelerator. Well, this is that idea become manifest.

To be frank, this will partially echo some events originally created by Rage Addiction in his story "A Certain Scientific Accelerator, may also be a wizard" (id: 11635055). Or, at least those that I can remember, but nothing else.

Reason for abandonment: Other than the above section being the only thing I had to work off of? This may be an idea I return to one day, but having little to go off of on top of falling off of the To Aru manga series for Accelerator has made me drop this idea for now.

So, a while ago I put a pilot out there for a Star Wars and Vandread crossover and recently, I had another idea. Why are you so surprised? I mean, this is what this repository is for, after all. But what is this idea, why do I intend on dragging this out? No friggin clue.

So, this came about while I was doing a bit of thinking on the Vandread series. In the series, it is known that the different colony worlds came about as those from Earth spread out among the stars and the two worlds of Tarak and Mejere splintered because of spoiler reasons that makes sense. But I had a thought, what if there was another who was both there when the colonists leave Earth, but also there when the worlds of Tarak and Mejere splintered? In addendum, what if that person was our favorite eternally young Master of Death, Harry Potter? Sounds quite interesting, doesn't it?

That being said, I am going to have a few twists that I have in mind that I want to introduce in this as well as references and outright stealing of other properties because… magic? I'm a nerd? Something along those lines. So, no, this won't be a massive crossover; this will be a standard two-property crossover with elements of others blended in for variety's sake.

Before someone asks about pairings. Only one is determinate because it is canon, that being Dita and Hibiki. Any others, no clue. I'll get to them when I get to them.

Reason for abandonment: I sort of lost interest in Vandread overall. I have two ideas I'm really trying on seeing if I can make work, but there's an extremely high possibility that one day (probably during the 2023 Spring Cleaning) it'll join this archive of lost ideas as well.

A while back, I saw an interesting story involving Thrawn being found in our galaxy instead of on the planet that Eli Vanto and his crew is sent to investigate an Asari team in the Mass Effect universe finds him. Well, that story got canned, unfortunately. But that gave me an idea: what if humans discovered Thrawn and by proxy the Chiss decades before the Turians decided to be massive dick biscuits by being the worst First Contact ever from a so-called civilized civilization? Sounds pretty cool, right?

This is probably the fastest I've gotten to the point in one of these things. A point for me!

Reason for abandonment: I couldn't really make this work realistically. The blending of two universes is a science. A science I have yet to master and this one was one I just couldn't make work. Maybe someone else can make it work? Also, I had like nothing to go off of as opposed to my current setup structure for fics now.

Another idea off of another Star Wars one I made.

So, as you know if you would take a peek on my profile you would see that one of two constant authors on my profile that I follow are Darth Marrs and Quatermass, both are excellent writers. For the sake of this pilot I will be referring to the latter author. A while ago, Quatermass released a story "Yo-Ho, Yo-Ho, An Ashikabi's Life for Me" (id: 12510813) in which Jack Sparrow is reincarnated into Minato. So recently, a thought popped into my mind, what if Revan, post-SWTOR, was reincarnated into Minato? Sound interesting? Well, read on.

Reason for abandonment: Well, as you can see, nothing is written there. Like, literally nothing. Based on the file name, here's what I was able to gather: I was intending to make this a Harry Potter/Star Wars fic involving the Expanded Universe, but specifically the X-Wing series of books. Narrowing it down further, the Wraith Squadron book and series. However, outside of this I have no further information about what this fic may have been about. All I do know is that I hunted down a PDF version of Wraith Squadron to read before working on this. Still have it. Might return to this idea one day when I know what I actually what to do with it.

This idea is an original idea that came about recently due to a fever dream. I got sick recently and had a strange dream while I was in between fever spikes. So, what is this idea? I guess the way that I can explain this is that this is a cathartic way of working through some issues that I am going through in real life. Basically, I'm going to write up a pilot where in another universe a self-insert character has everything and my real life which will be a self-insert character and these two individuals swap places in an accident where the unsuccessful self-insert doesn't know that he's taken over the life of the successful self-insert. Basically, amnesia. As things unfold this self-insert will learn of the life he's inevitably taken over and will have to either give up this life and go back to his own, or take it over.

Reason for abandonment: I couldn't make this idea work. I think the main reason is that it felt like I was spiteing myself and hating my current life wanting a completely different one. It was sort of unhealthy, so I abandoned it.

So, I came across an interesting idea while browsing Discord as I do for shitposts. But before I do, a bit of pretext. So, a while back I came across a RWBY/Azur Lane crossover where in an alternate world branch Graf Spee (best waifu candidate as a "must protecc" character) shows up and starts to do merc work killing Grim on the high seas and finds several of her friends along the way after the mini-event (in-game) that would cause her to scuttle herself. Now, this story hasn't been updated in some time, going on over a year (though I'm not one to judge having a story from 2015 that's on life support that hasn't been updated) – which is "RWBY X AZURE LANE (WORKING TITLE)" by Aztecdupstep (id: 13796876) – I figured that I'd throw an idea into the ring of this line of story ideas. Well, sort of. That idea is now on backlog as of writing this preface. But what is THIS story about? This is an Ace Combat/RWBY crossover. Remember that part where I mentioned shitposting? Yeah, that's where this comes in.

So, apparently, Ace Combat is rife with shitposting online; and being a shitposter myself, I can appreciate this. And so, I came across another shitpost involving Ace Combat again and thought, "damn, the Battle of Beacon would be badass if there were fighter pilots," and bam, this now exists. How do I want to do this, though? Well, as you know, the two best known pilots in Strangreal are the Demon Lord and Solo Wing, aka Cipher and Pixy of Galm; and so, what if in an alternate universe Galm was regarded as an elite squadron before its dissolution with the betrayal of Pixy and his going to ground. Years later above the skies of Beacon and Vale itself, the two ariel aces of legend clash once more.

Now, I've been out of the loop with RWBY for a while, I'm talking before the Vytal Festival arc which results in the end of Season 3. Yeah… that far back. So, I finally watched the Battle of Beacon and… it won't work for what I have imagine. So, we'll need to kick it up a notch. How so? Well, first of all, I feel underwhelmed at the amount of force that Ironwood brought with him mainly from a tactical point of view. In our modern day, a carrier taskforce is not a single, lone ship, but with different auxiliaries and specialized ships for different roles. Subs for stealth and scouting, destroyers for anti-air screens along with cruisers, and so on. So, the first change is that Ironwood is going to bring an entire fleet with him, something in size akin to the fleets that the US has for Freedom of Commerce cruises; nothing too big to start a war, but big enough for a FAFO reply. But Ironwood being Ironwood has most if not all of these other ships automated so they're easily taken over by the White Fang, which is what I want to have happen.

With warfare between kingdoms silenced with the incursions made by the Grim, professional soldiers were replaced with the Huntsman system and mechanical soldiers to replace those on the front lines. But there still exist some that know this "lost art," those such as the Demon Lord of the Round Table aka Cipher and Solo Wing Pixy. Ten years prior the legendary duo parted ways under bad circumstances but now they meet once again above the war-torn skies of Vale.

Reason for abandonment: This one was one of the more recent additions I had attempted but failed out on. The main reason is I became disillusioned at the idea for the Battle of Beacon because there was only one ship. I rewatched the entire episode saga just to be safe and there was just a single Command ship brought by Ironwood. Due to this, I tried to seek a way to make it work, only for it to fall flat every time. All of the cool things I wanted to do and explore in this fell on its face because of engine limitations at the time of RWBY's seasons. I'll need to review the "Ice Queendom" timeline split to see if they do it differently as this may reinspire me to redo this idea. But for now, this one is dead.

And there we go that's all of the stories I've abandoned this time around. As mentioned before, if you're interested in doing any of these ideas, just DM me and 99.9% I'll give you my blessing along with the original file I started if you want. Usually dropping this many stories is a sad thing, but hopefully, the next installment of whatever I do next will be much happier.
