This is it, folks! It's time to jump into the final part of the Dragon Ball X version of Wrath of the Dragon, the big battle against Hirudegarn! Hope you folks are prepared for a couple of surprises along the way. Nothing left to say, but enjoy the conclusion!
The next morning, an explosion caught the attention of Gokin, Goku, and everyone else still staying at Capsule Corp. When they got to Tapion's room, they were surprised to see that it was destroyed along with half of the lab.
Worried about Tapion, Colm rushed inside to try and find him. "Tapion! Where are you?"
Goku went in a picked up a broken piece. "Well wherever he is, lets hope he's in better shape than this room."
Bulla sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "I don't understand. Mom, Jimmy and I made it so the monster WOULDN'T escape!"
They heard something and looked over at the hole in the wall. There they saw Tapion, panting. Colm gasped. "Tapion!"
The hero was about to fall over, but Gohan and Uub rushed over to catch him to keep him from doing so. "Are you okay?" Uub asked.
The others gathered around them. "Did the monster get out?" Bulma asked.
Tapion grunted. "No. It tried to escape but I stopped it in time. We've got another problem though, the lower half is free and it's attacking the city!"
They were shocked by what they heard. "What!?" Goku even yelled.
"The closer the two halves are to one another, the stronger they become!" Tapion grunted. "I don't know how much longer I can fight it!" His eyes widened before he fell over.
Colm gasped. "He's hurt!"
"He needs medical attention!" Nim said.
"NO!" Tapion got everyone's attention again. "I can't hold it, it's too late! Kill us now before it escapes!"
"Tapion!" Colm yelled. "KILL ME!" Tapion shouted.
"DON'T TOUCH HIM!" Hoi's voice was heard. A portal opened in the sky, and before they knew it, the foot of Hirudegarn came down.
Seeing the foot, Tapion took out his ocarina...but it was shot out of his hand. Colm noticed and flew after it to catch it, just as Hirudegarn's foot came down again.
"Colm, look out!" Pan yelled.
Luckily, Colm jumped out of the way. "Here, Tapion! Play it!" He tossed the ocarina over to the hero.
Tapion caught it, but before he could play it, he felt something stirring inside. His eyes widened, he groaned and dropped the ocarina. Finally, he screamed as he felt the top half of Hirudegarn leave his body. When it left completely, Tapion collapsed.
Uub look on and his eyes widened. "Oh no! Look!" Everyone looked up just as another portal opened in the sky. This time, thunder and lightning struck the legs of the monster. Before them, they saw that the two halves of Hirudegarn were now finally connected and the now complete beast let a roar out.
"Our problem just got a lot bigger." Gohan mentioned. "Suggestions anyone?"
"You're the heroes." Bulma replied.
Mewtwo noticed a tiny figure standing on top of a nearby building. "Over there!" He pointed at what he was looking at. Everyone there saw that the figure was none other than Hoi.
Hoi turned his attention to Hirudegarn and began to speak to him. "I am Hoi, last of the Kashvar! You have been summoned to do my bidding! Destroy human kind, wipe every last one of them off the face of the universe, starting with West City!"
At the command, Hirudegarn slammed his fist down at Team Z. Luckily, the heroes managed to dodge the attack. "Run!" Tapion yelled out.
Team Z landed on the grass away from the beast. "Let's fuse to take this brute down!" Pan suggested to Bulla. Bulla nodded. "Right!"
Before the two Saiyan girls could get into position, they heard a melody playing. Turns out, it was Tapion playing on the ocarina again. Hirudegarn began to approach.
"Look out!" Colm flew in and grabbed Tapion before the monster's tail could get him.
Hoi laughed as he watched. He was now floating in the sky. "That relic won't save you anymore, like it did your brother!"
Tapion gasped from what he heard. "Minotia!"
"Now, bear witness to the true power of Hirudegarn!" Hoi yelled.
Goku glared up at the monster. "Follow me!" He and the others flew up to fight, avoiding the swings from the beast.
Remembering his first encounter with Hirudegarn's lower half, Mewtwo tried to warn the Saiyan. "Goku, wait!"
It was too late. When Goku tried to hit Hirudegarn, the monster vanished in the smoke. He reappeared and slammed his fist behind Goku. He grunted before he hit the ground.
"Grandpa!" Pan and Gokin rushed over to Goku.
"What happened?" Nim asked in disbelief. "That's one of Hirudegarn's abilities. I've tried to warn him that Hirudegarn can teleport just as the enemy tries to attack him. His lower half did the same thing when I tried to fight it during our first encounter." Mewtwo explained.
Colm gently placed Tapion down next to a nearby building. "Stay here and rest, Tapion. Don't worry, it's Team Z's turn to help you." He gave the hero a gentle smile before he flew away to help his friends.
"Colm, wait!" Worried, Tapion tried to reach his hand out to Colm.
Everyone was now around Goku. "Goku, you alright?" Uub even helped his teacher up.
Instead of answering his student, Goku glared at Hirudegarn. "Look, I don't care what you are, this ends NOW!" He powered up to a Super Saiyan. Gokin, Pan, and Bulla changed into their Super Saiyan forms as well. Gohan unleashed his potential while Uub, Nim, and Mewtwo powered up to their max.
They charged at Hirudegarn who began swinging at them. They were able to dodge the attacks. Gokin tried to get him with his Power Pole. "Power Pole, extend!" The monster vanished again before the extended Power Pole could strike. He reappeared and slammed his open palm down on Gokin. The young Saiyan let out a scream before he hit the ground hard.
"Gokin!" Gohan called out for his son before he glared at Hirudegarn again. "Both its power and speed is increasing!"
Both Goku and Gohan tried firing a Kamehameha Wave at the monster, but it disappeared to avoid the attack. The attack continued and hit another part of the city in an explosion.
Uub looked back...just to see Hirudegarn form behind Goku and Gohan. "Goku, Gohan, behind you!" The two Saiyans looked behind them just before Hirudegarn swatted them away, sending them flying over to Capsule Corp.
Bulma yelped once Goku and Gohan crashed into the room.
Uub tried his best to get the beast, but it just kept vanishing to dodge the attacks.
Uub growled and tried to find Hirudegarn...unaware that he reformed behind him. "I can't track his movements! What does it take to take him down?" He yelped when he was caught by Hirudegarn. The monster began to squeeze Uub, making him scream in pain.
"Hold on, Uub! I'm coming!" Nim flew in to help his friend. But a sudden energy blast hit Hirudegarn's arm, making him let go of Uub.
"Hey you! Over here!" Everyone looked over to see Vegeta glaring at the monster. "I was enjoying my first day off in over a month until some flatfooted mutated behemoth stepped on my house! You're going to regret this, you freak! All the way to the grave!" Powering up to a Super Saiyan, Vegeta charged at Hirudegarn. The Saiyan prince was able to dodge the swings from the monster before he tried to go for a punch. Hirudegarn vanished before he slammed Vegeta to the ground below, but the Saiyan was able to catch himself and charge in again with an energy blast. The blast hit the creature, causing an explosion.
Mewtwo couldn't believe his eyes. "He got it!"
Bulla smiled...but it quickly went away once she saw Hirudegarn appear behind Vegeta. "Dad, look out! Behind you!" Too late, the monster smacked Vegeta with its tail, sending him flying into another building. Hirudegarn fired a blast of fire at the building from its mouth.
Nim gasped once he saw that Vegeta and the people in the building were in danger. "Oh no, you don't!" Thinking fast, Nim quickly flew over and put up a barrier to try and protect the people. Vegeta got up and helped keep the barrier strong.
The fire stopped and Nim glared at the monster. "Nice try, you creep! POWER FIELD!" Thrusting his arms forward, Nim threw the barrier back at Hirudegarn, creating an explosion and a big smoke cloud.
"Is that it?" Vegeta growled just before he fell over back in his base form.
Nim looked back and forth between Vegeta, the cloud, and even the bewildered people in the building. "I don't know." He carefully flew out of the building to get a better look.
Goku and Gokin flew over to check. "Vegeta!" The former looked over to see Vegeta passed out.
Nim was about to reply...but instead, he grunted as Hirudegarn smacked him away. The son of 17 was sent crashing into a couple of different buildings. But Hirudegarn also smacked Goku down to the ground as well.
"Grandpa! Nim!" Gokin yelled, just before Hirudegarn slammed both fists onto him. It made him scream out in pain.
"Gokin!" Pan cried out for her younger brother.
Hirudegarn released his grip and let the young Saiyan fall to the ground below. Goku got up to see his grandson fall to the ground. "Gokin!" Despite the pain, Goku was able to rush over and catch Gokin and the both landed on a building.
Pan growled at the monster. "Okay, that's it! No one squeezes my brother like that, not even you, Hirudegarn!"
Bulla floated next to her best friend. "Let's make him pay for messing with our families!"
In the air, both Pan and Bulla began to perform the Fusion Dance. "Fu...Sion. HA!" Their fingers touched just before they were both encased in a bright light.
In their place was a single female Saiyan warrior. This fused warrior was in the same outfit as any fused warrior, only she was wearing a sports-bra that looks similar to the open vest of the male fused warriors. She also had Pan's hairstyle with Bulla's ponytail in the back, but the hair color was black and blue swirl.
"You've just made a big mistake, pal!" The warrior told Hirudegarn with Bulla and Pan's voices. "Anyone who messes with my friends and family faces the wrath of me...Bulpan!" (A/N: Yes, I know there's already a Bulpan in the 3DS game Dragon Ball Fusions, but I just couldn't resist.)
Hirudegarn turned its attention to the fused warrior and began to swing at her. Bulpan was able to dodge the attacks. "Come and get me." Bulpan taunted, flying a little lower.
As Hirudegarn tried to get her, he tripped into a tower. Bulpan smirked at the down beast. "Payback time!" She fired off a bunch of energy blasts at Hirudegarn, making him roar as they made contact. By the time she was done, everyone saw that Hirudegarn's body was now in a brown shell. "Serves you right for what you did to my families!"
Bulpan noticed Colm and Mewtwo flying to them. "We've got to finish the job!" Mewtwo told them. Colm nodded. "Right." Bulpan grinned. "Let's do it!" Colm fired some more energy blasts, Mewtwo charged up a Shadow Ball and Bulpan charged up energy for her own attack.
"Bulpan, now!" Mewtwo fired a big Shadow Ball down at the monster. "Taste this! GALICK KAMEHAMEHA!" Bulpan added her own attack, which is a combo of the Kamehameha Wave and the Galick Gun. All the attacks made contact with the shell, causing another explosion.
But when the smoke cleared, everyone saw that the attacks only made a crack with a green light coming out of it. Colm's eyes widened a little. "What happened? Is it over?"
Mewtwo took a careful look just as the light grew brighter. "No! It's only just begun! It wasn't just a shell, it was more of a cocoon! I'd say Hirudegarn's ready to fight for real this time, so brace yourselves!"
The shell was being pulled apart. Out of it came Hirudegarn, only this time he had a yellow and purple body as well as big bug wings.
Bulpan cringed a little. "Well, things just got uglier." Hirudegarn roared and flew at them. Thinking fast, Bulpan got in front of Colm to shield him from the punch Hirudegarn launched. Bulpan grunted and slammed into the ground, splitting back to Pan and Bulla. Colm gasped. "Pan! Bulla!"
Hirudegarn aimed another attack at both Colm and Mewtwo. The Psychic-Type grunted as he tried to slow the monster down with Psychic. "Hurry! I'll hold him in place while you go for an attack!" Mewtwo informed the boy.
Colm nodded and flew after the beast. However, to their surprise, Hirudegarn's tail was still moving around and it smacked Colm down to a building.
Mewtwo gasped, unintentionally stopping his Psychic. "Colm!" He grunted just before he got hit hard by Hirudegarn's punch.
Uub flew over himself. "I'm on my way!" He was ready to punch and kick Hirudegarn, but the monster vanished again and quickly reappeared to tightly wrap his tail around Uub, making him scream again.
"Uub! Hang on!" Gohan came back and tried to attack Hirudegarn again, but the monster blew him away by blowing fire at him, well that and good punch to the front. The attacks sent Gohan flying over to Goku and Gokin. Gohan crashed in front of his dad and his unconscious son.
Gently setting Gokin down, Goku went over to check on his eldest son. "Gohan!"
"I tried...Father." Gohan said just before he passed out.
After squeezing him for a good while, Hirudegarn threw Uub down to the same building Colm was at. Uub tried to get up, but was struggling to do so. "G-Goku...Gokin...I...I-I'm sorry." Finally, he passed out just as Colm began to wake up.
Goku glared at the monster. "You have a weakness! Everything does!" He flew off the face Hirudegarn again. He tried to attack, but Hirudegarn just kept vanishing and reappearing to give the Saiyan some good smacks. Finally, Goku was smacked hard to the ground below.
Goku grunted and changed back to his base form. "It's like I'm fighting an illusion!"
Gokin slowly woke up and the first thing he saw was his unconscious dad. "D-Dad..." With determination, he slowly got back up to his feet. He saw that Hirudegarn was causing more chaos. The young man looked down and saw Goku pushing some rubble off of him.
"Must find a way, before it finds a way to destroy the entire planet...all...the...people." Goku said just before he passed out.
"No, Grandpa!" Gokin grunted with his eyes shut tight. Hoi's laughing was what made him shoot his eyes open again.
"Destroy! Destroy!" Hoi laughed. "Grind their bones to dust beneath your feet!"
Gokin angrily growled at Hoi. "Hoi! I've had enough of you!" He pulled out one of his Poke Balls, and he was about to throw it...but he stopped himself once Tapion's song was heard.
Colm got up and smiled once he heard the song. "Tapion!" He saw that Tapion was in the air, playing the ocarina with his eyes closed.
Hoi noticed Tapion himself. "Idiot! After a thousand years, you'd think he'd learn to play a different tune!" Hirudegarn blew fire at Tapion, but the hero formed an energy shield to protect himself from the blast of fire. Still playing the song, Tapion flew closer to Hirudegarn who was backing away.
Colm kept his smile as he looked at Tapion. "It's true. He came to save our world after all."
As he played, Tapion glared at Hirudegarn. 'For too long, you feed on the misery of others. You stole from me everything precious and dear, but no more. It ends now.' He thought as he began to suck Hirudegarn back into his body. Once the monster was completely in his body, Tapion stopped playing and landed on the ground.
"Tapion, you did it!" Colm happily ran over to Tapion.
To Colm's confusion, Tapion took his sword out and held it out to him. "Colm, there isn't much time left, quick! Strike my heart, I can't hold him much longer!"
Colm was shocked by what Tapion told him to do. "What!? Tapion, what are you saying? I can't do that to you!"
"Do you want to see everyone you care about die!?" Tapion yelled.
Colm sadly shook his head. "I don't, but..." Tears began to roll down his face. "You're my friend too."
Tapion's expression softened a little. "Ah, Colm. I know it's not fair to ask you, but there's no other way. I don't want to destroy you! I know death seems cruel, but I welcome this blade. Help me."
Colm didn't want to do this, but he knows that they don't have any other options. So with a broken heart, he took the sword and raised it above his head.
Tapion gave the boy a proud smile. "Yes. Thank you, Colm. It was an honor to know you...my brother." Colm sadly gritted his teeth and got ready to deliver the final blow.
Hoi flew down to the ground. "NO! Get away from him!"
Suddenly, Tapion cried out in pain. "Oh no, Tapion!" Still holding the sword, Colm rushed over to Tapion's side. Tapion cried out again and the ocarina shattered into pieces. Colm gasped as he looked at the pieces. "Oh no!"
Hoi began to laugh while Hirudegarn began to reform. "Weaklings! Hirudegarn is mine to control, as are all inferior creatures who pollute my universe!"
Tightening his grip on the sword, Colm glared up at Hoi. "You...You monster! The universe doesn't belong to ANYONE!" He pointed the sword in Hoi's direction as he continued. "It's not your job to decide who lives and who dies! If there's anyone who's polluting the universe, it's threats like YOU!"
"Slaughter them!" Hoi commanded. Hirudegarn raised his foot...and brought it down on a shocked Hoi, squishing him to death.
Colm got in front of Tapion, now determined to fight with the sword. "This time, Tapion...I'll protect you. And I'll do it with the very weapon used to defeat it once and for all!"
Hirudegarn roared again, but another shout was also heard. Those still conscious looked to see that Goku was in the air in his Super Saiyan 4 form. "Fight me if you're ready to die." Just after Goku said that, stronger winds began to pick up. "What the...?" Confused, Goku looked behind him...only to gasp once he saw.
Flying to float next to the Super Saiyan 4 was Gokin in his Super Saiyan God form. "I'm not going to let you get away with this Hirudegarn."
Goku blinked in shock. "Gokin? What happened to you? I can't sense your energy at all!" Gokin turned his eyes to his grandpa. "That's because this form is different than the other Super Saiyan forms you've unlocked before, Grandpa. This is called a Super Saiyan God."
"Super Saiyan God, eh?" Goku gave off a grin. "I kinda like it. When this is over, I'd like to see how powerful this form of yours really is."
Gokin grinned back. "Super Saiyan God against Super Saiyan 4? I like the sound of that." He looked ahead with a serious look again. "How about we have a spar like that after this monster's defeated?"
Goku looked serious as well. "Agreed." Hirudegarn roared and charged at them. Suddenly, Colm came and used the sword to slice Hirudegarn's tail. Colm would've attacked again...but Goku got him to stop. "No, Colm! This monster's ours to handle!" Getting the message, Colm quietly flew down next to Tapion again.
"Follow my lead, Gokin. This thing has a weakness." Goku told the young Super Saiyan God. Gokin nodded. "Got it. Intense emotions drain Hirudegarn's energy, that's when it can be attacked. Let's do it."
Goku flew in first when he got hit by Hirudegarn. "Struck a nerve?" Goku smirked.
Hirudegarn aimed a punch at Gokin...only for the Super Saiyan God to block it with only one hand. "I'm sorry, but do you really call that a punch? Come on, you can do better than that."
Hirudegarn roared at the Super Saiyan 4 and Super Saiyan God. Goku smirked. "Don't quit now, we're just getting started." Hirudegarn punched Goku and the Super Saiyan 4 was sent flying into a building.
"Give it up, Hirudegarn! We're obviously too much for you to handle!" Gokin taunted. The monster aimed a punch at him, but the young man was too quick and dodged it. He appeared next to his grandpa. Hirudegarn roared once again.
"That's right, keep roaring, because we're both still standing!" Goku yelled. Another massive punch came their way. "Come on!"
They both dodged the punch and flew at the beast. Goku held out his right fist while Gokin held out his left. "DOUBLE DRAGON FIST!" The two of them glowed and two dragons that look like Shenron appeared, one was red and the other was gold. The two dragons flew right through Hirudegarn's chest, then they began to wrap their bodies around the roaring monster. The red dragon opened his mouth, and Hirudegarn could see Gokin charging up one more powerful attack. "Ka-me-ha-me-HAAA!" The young Super Saiyan God fired off a powerful Kamehameha Wave at Hirudegarn and gave off a blinding light.
When the light died down, everyone saw that Hirudegarn was gone. A light was shining through a hole in the clouds, now the poor souls Hirudegarn stole can rest in peace.
Colm and Tapion looked up at the light with a smile. "It's over, we've won." Colm calmly said.
Tapion thought back to his brother. "Minotia." He smiled down at Colm. "Thank you."
Colm suddenly rubbed his arm, looking guilty. "Um, Tapion? Back there earlier, I-I didn't..."
Tapion gently stopped him. "There's no need to explain. Whatever decision you made was the right one. If you trust your heart, it all works out in the end."
Colm smiled up at his brother figure.
Later that day, Team Z and the others looked on at the damage done to the city.
"Too bad we still can't use the Dragon Balls for a while." Nim mentioned after looking at the damage. Majuub shrugged. "I guess we'll just have to fix this ourselves."
Gokin held up his Holo Caster. "No need guys, I'll just call Timmy and ask him if we can get Cosmo and Wanda to help fix this mess."
Pan turned to Tapion. "So, what are you gonna do now that Hirudegarn and Hoi are gone?"
Tapion thought about it. Pan was right, there was nothing else left to do now that a thousand year old threat is gone. When he looked over at Colm, he smiled as an idea came to him. "I guess I'll open up a school to teach others on how to use a sword. In fact, I think I already know who my first student might be."
Colm was a little surprised. "Me? Really?"
"Of course. I've seen how you used my sword earlier on Hirudegarn, Colm. I was impressed." Tapion said. Colm bashfully rubbed the back of his head. "I guess all that time fishing with my father's paid off. I would have to ask for his permission first, but I'd be happy to be your student."
"That's good to hear. In fact, here." Tapion held out his sword over to Colm.
Colm was surprised as he took hold of the sword. "Tapion, are you sure?"
Tapion nodded and ruffled Colm's hair a little. "Absolutely, brother. I have a feeling that the sword was meant to be in your hands. Just try not to hurt yourself, okay."
Colm had tears of joy in his eyes. In happiness, he wrapped his arms around Tapion in a brotherly hug. Though surprised, Tapion smiled softly and hugged him.
The others watched on with smiles on their faces. "I'm happy for Colm." Pan said.
Bulla nodded, but then her eyes widened a little when she realized something. "Hey wait a minute...Where were Trunks and Goten? We could've used their help in the fight!"
Gokin turned to the Saiyan princess. "Didn't you know? They're on Volcano Island. They lost a bet and had to go train there while Master Piccolo kept an eye on them."
Bulla blinked a couple of times. "...Are you serious?" She quickly became angry. "You mean to tell me that my brother and your uncle couldn't help us in that fight all because they were doing some training on Volcano Island...ALL BECAUSE THOSE TWO IDIOTS LOST A STUPID BET!?"
On Volcano Island, Trunks and Goten were seen running around the beach while carrying the crab citizens on their backs.
While watching the two, Piccolo was relaxing in a lounge chair. The Namekian was wearing purple swim trunks and a pair of sunglasses.
Piccolo gave off a smirk. "Yeah, that hits the spot." He took a sip from his drink as he watched the two Saiyans training.
The end of Dragon Ball X: Wrath of the Dragon
