A/N: hey everyone, see what I mean about no proper upload schedule? Like what so ever? I must admit though those six chapters where the only ones I had pre-written. So the rest of the chapters may be more staggered out. It also took a while to write as a few more plot bunnies occurred in my brain not just power rangers... but other shows too. But anyway, here is the next chapter. I hope you enjoy as always please leave me a review. I would love your guys opinions!

Walls

The common room furniture was pushed back to the edges, so Jack, Bridge, Z, Syd and Jewel were able to play light ball without bumping into things. Sky was sat on the side reading a book and eating popcorn.

Jewel quickly dodged the light ball that was heading her away by leaning backwards as soon as it came back, she managed to grab it with her glove.

"Get them Jewel," Bridge cheered her on. They had split into a not so equal team of Bridge, Syd and Jewel then Jack and Z but they had no choice, Sky wouldn't play.

Jewel threw the light ball at Z, who was unable to dodge it and ended up falling back. Jack quickly grabbed the light ball and threw it towards Bridge who ended up being back upped into a wall, "okay," he sighed as the light ball had enough and he bent down. "Mental note, walls are not always your friend."

"Sorry, Bridge," said Jack. "Nothing personal."

Bridge gave him a thumbs up. Captain Jack walked into the common room after coming back from meeting with Kat, which was cut short as Boom who was finalising the new bikes nearly managed to set fire to the lab. his eyes skimmed the room, seeing Sky sitting on his own he decided to walk over to the blue ranger .

"Not playing light ball with the team?" He questioned, as he sat down beside him.

Sky shook his head, "Nope," he said, watching as Jewel walked over to them.

"Come on Sky," she said eagerly, "play with us, we need an extra team member for Jack and Z," she said, watching as the Captain reached over for the spare glove by Sky.

"Light Ball?" He snorted. "You're kidding? It's a D-level game?"

Jewel rolled her eyes, "you used to love this game."

"If he won't play," the Captain stood up, and walked over to join Jack and Z. "I will."

Z smiled, "nice of you to join us, Captain," said Jack, patting his arm.

"Come on, even the Captain wants to play," Jewel gestured to her partner who was now playing light ball.

Sky shook his head, "There is no time for playing games anymore," he said. "If you remember there is an enemy sitting in space. If Grumm isn't playing games, neither am I?"

"Yes," agreed the Captain with a nod, "there may be an enemy out in space but you need to give yourself some time off every once in a while."

The alarms blared in the base, "you were saying, hun?" Jewel asked, pressing a kiss against his cheek. "See you later."

"Good luck," called the Captain as he watched the rangers run out of the common room, he turned to see the common room in a mess. "Thanks for leaving it to me to clear this up."

~*Walls*~

"Rangers, suit up," commanded Cruger as the B-Squad Power Rangers ran into the command room.

The rangers stood before each of their Zord Bays, "SPD, Emergency," once fully morphed the rangers jumped down into their delta-squad runner and drove towards the robot.

"There it is," Syd pointed to the robot that was attacking the city.

Jack steered his delta-squad runner closer to the robot, "I'm going in for a closer look," he said.

"You're breaking protocol," snapped Sky, as he watched what the red ranger was doing.

"Who asked you?" Jack argued back.

Jewel rolled her eyes, "Here we go," she muttered, listening to Jack and Sky argue over the Megazord. They had been arguing more often and it was starting to get pathetic.

"Maybe you guys should fight after the fight?" Bridge suggested.

Jack sighed, "Fine," he angrily replied, "form the megazord." They quickly formed the megazord. Sky controlled the gun so it was pointing towards the robot.

"Analyse Perpetrator," he said. Syd took charge and began to analyse the robot.

"I think I found a weakness," she said.

The robot stepped forward, "your mine," it said and began fighting the megazord. Sky managed to get a grip around the robot.

"We got him now," he smirked. "I'll take it from here."

Jewel struggled to stay seated in her cockpit as Sky took control with slightly more force, "Sky, please can you be careful?" She begged.

"What are you doing?" Jack asked, feeling the same struggle.

Sky smirked, "Watch and learn," he had managed to strike the robot they were about to check again when something strange had happened and the robot just stopped, standing still.

"What is happening?" Z asked, leaning forwards, "it's just stopped fighting us…"

Jewel began typing on her computer, "it's receiving some kind of communication," she said. In a flash of light the robot was gone.

"We lost him," Jack frustratingly slammed his hand against the wheel.

"Honestly Kat," said Jewel, folding her arms, "the pair of them have been a nightmare."

Kat sighed, "It'll settle down eventually," she said, looking at the Purple Ranger who was sitting on Jack's knees in the free chair of the lab. Bridge, Z and Syd had also joined them as she made the announcement for the rangers to meet her in the lab.

"I doubt it," Z replied, "once Jack gets going he can't let things drop."

Jewel nodded, "neither can Sky," she agreed. "We are officially doomed."

"I can try talking to the pair of them," Captain Jack suggested, as he pressed his neck softly against Jewel's shoulder, "see if that will help?"

"If you don't mind," smiled Jewel, pressing a kiss against his cheek.

Syd rolled her eyes, "and to make matters worse, we've got those two flirting with each other all the time."

"Isn't there supposed to be a rule about dating when you're on the same team as each other?" Bridge asked.

"It doesn't count," the Captain replied, "I'm a consultant not officially hired for SPD duty, and who are you guys our parents?"

Jewel snorted, "I hope not…"

"I can hear them arguing now," said Z, listening carefully they could hear Jack and Sky arguing with each other on forming the megazord straight away.

The door opened, "well maybe if you spent more time with the team," said Jack. "You can enlighten us."

"This coming from a guy who used to order us around like he was our boss?" Sky retorted.

Jewel nodded, "Sky does have a point," she whispered.

"It's like Owen and Gwen all over again," the Captain rolled his eyes, shaking his head.

Kat turned to the red and blue rangers, "that's enough," she told them. "Fight the enemy, not each other." There was a moment of pause, the pair of them stepped closer to the group, "Now the commander and I decided to add to your arsenal."

They turned as Kat opened the door behind them. It revealed a pair of motorbikes in the red and green colours.

"Woah," cried Jack, as he rushed over to the bikes. Jewel stood up and went to join the rangers, smiling as she looked at the bikes. "Christmas came early this year."

Bridge smiled, "Well technically, Jack, I'm Jewish," he said. "But I suppose you could say Hanukkah came early."

"Okay," grinned Jack.

Sky shrugged, "This is so unfair," he complained, "how come they get new bikes?"

"Something wrong with your bike, Sky?" Kat asked, getting slightly frustrated over the infighting herself.

Commander Cruger walked into the lab, "Cadet's," he said. "I have something to show you." The B-Squad rangers shared a look with one another and they all ended up walking over to the holotable.

"What is it, Commander?" Syd asked, watching as he brought up the footage of the A-Squad on mission.

Charlie was trying to send a message in the middle of a battle. Krybots surrounded the other rangers, "Come in SPD, we are being over-run," she said. "It's a trap, our coordinates are 5.1…" an explosion hit them and the footage was cut off.

"That was the last communication with the A-Squad," said Cruger, "and we are not able to establish their last known location," he turned to the holotable. "I fear that they have been eliminated."

Jewel felt her heart drop, the Captain walked up behind her, holding her hand tightly trying to give her comfort. "Grumm knew they were coming," she whispered, sure it was well known that her and Charlie didn't get on at all but she didn't wish for harm to come to her colleagues.

"Yes," sighed Cruger, nodding his head. "I'm starting to think that as well…."

~*Walls*~

They were all shaken up about the news of the A-Squad. Sky had run off after the briefing from Commander Cruger before the team could even check if he was alright. They had all insisted on chasing him but the Captain told them to leave him alone, and that he would find Sky after.

"I feel awful," said Jewel, as she rested her head against Jack's shoulder, he had taken her out for a moment to give her some breathing space, the last time they had news like this was when they were fearing about Owen and Tosh's safety. It didn't go well.

Jack wrapped his arms around her, pressing a kiss on the top of her head. "There is nothing you could've done," he whispered, softly.

"I know that," she said, as she wrapped her arms tightly around him. "The A-Squad didn't deserve…"

"I know," agreed Jack, "shall we go find the others?"

Jewel parted from him, "yeah," she sniffed, wiping the tears from her eyes. "Where were they going?"

"Simulation room," he answered. "Jack had suggested they train to take their minds off it."

Jewel nodded, "that's a good idea," she smiled. "Still not used to there being two Jack's?"

"Hell no," he shook his head, causing Jewel to laugh.

~*walls*~

Sky was punching the boxing bag that he had hung up in his room. The door was wide open when the Captain had knocked against his door.

"Are you not training with the others?" he questioned, folding his arms.

Sky shook his head, "no," he breathed, as he hit the boxing bag harder. "They didn't invite me anyway."

"That is not true," Jack said. "Jewel sent me to find you."

"Why?" he asked, "does she feel sorry for me?"

Jack rolled his eyes, "no, because you're her best friend and she is worried about you."

"I thought you were her best friend?"

"No," Jack shook his head, slightly amused, "Jewel only has a small group of best friends. It used to be Ianto…"

Sky stopped hitting the punching bag, "the one who…"

"Yes," nodded Jack, "the one who died," he lowered his head, that was still his fault. "But if we are talking about Jewel's current best friends she has the Doctor, and she has you, and right now she is worried about you being on your own."

"I prefer being on my own," he said.

"Do you think so?" retorted Jack, "you just complained about the rest of your team not inviting you to train."

Sky looked up to the Captain, "you are always on your own," he pointed out.

"By choice," he retorted, "I don't want to get anyone else hurt or killed. It's why I choose to mostly spend my time alone as much as it irritates Jewel and Gwen," he paused. "You are young Sky, you should still live your life whilst you can."

"The A-Squad didn't get a chance to," Sky sniffed, "my father didn't and neither will I."

Jack rolled his eyes, "that's not the answer I was hoping for," he looked up as the alarms blared in the base.

"Duty calls," Sky took off his gloves and ran out of the room, leaving the Captain slightly annoyed, he shook his head, at least he had tried that's what he was going to say to Jewel anyway.

~*walls*~

'Rangers,' the voice came over the PA system, 'Krybots reported attempting to steal diamonds from downtown warehouse district, proceed to coordinates 375-North Sector.'

Syd smiled widely, as she jumped into the back of the patrol car, "Diamonds?"

"I wonder why they would be after diamonds?" Z questioned out loud, as they set off driving.

Jewel shrugged, "I have no idea but I think this mission has made Syd's day."

They watched as Jack and Bridge rode ahead of them, "now they're just showing off," said Z.

"Yes," nodded Jewel, "Sky will just be complaining right now."

Syd sighed, "he'll be going 'why do they get new bikes?'' She impersonated Sky.

"You actually sound just like him," laughed Z, as she continued to stare at the road ahead.

"We did grow up together," Syd answered. "Sky went to the SPD Academy first whilst I was finishing my final album."

Jewel nodded, "that's when we met," she explained. "I was starting out as a new SPD Cadet. Cruger had tracked me down and begged me to join."

"He begged you?" Z looked surprised.

"That part I was making up," she shrugged. "Cruger did however ask Birdie if he could recruit me, who in turn rang the TARDIS. The Doctor thought it would be good for me to join," she paused for a moment. "I think it was so he can sulk in peace after losing Amy and Rory."

Z frowned, "how did the Captain get arrested?"

"That I know," said Syd, "he had heard Jewel had joined SPD and tried to see her but instead of going to earth he had teleported to Headquarters."

Jewel rolled her eyes, "unfortunately, Jack still had a warrant out for his arrest after causing some trouble in a bar one night," she paused. "What he didn't know was that the Judoon were after him and you know the Judoon they don't care if they destroy everything in their path whilst out on a warrant."

"Oh no," winced Z, figuring out where this was going.

"Oh yes," she sighed. "To stop the destruction Birdie agreed with the Judoon to throw him in a SPD prison of his choosing."

"Hang on," mused Z, "the captain said it wasn't his fault he got arrested but it kind of was his fault."

Jewel nodded, "it was 100% his fault," she shook her head, her fingers ran through her hair. "Jack just likes to pretend to play the victim."

Z shook her head, "why are men stupid?" she asked out loud.

"Who knows?" Jewel sighed in defeat. "I wouldn't mind if they listen to us but they don't even do that!"

Syd laughed, "tell me about it."

Jewel looked ahead seeing the smoke left over from the explosions, "I think the boys are one step ahead of us," she winced as the path became more bumpy, throwing the car around.

"Z can you try and make this a little smoother?" Syd complained.

Z shook her head, "I can't do anything about the terrain," she answered back.

"Get to the warehouse," Jack's voice came over the Morpher's communicator. "We will take it from here."

Jewel nodded, "got it," she answered.

"Hold onto your hats girls," said Z as she sped towards the warehouse, dodging the Krybots as they tried to fire at them before Jack and Bridge could distract them.

Syd winced as she was thrown forwards, "I think I'm going to get whiplash."

"Now you know how I feel," Jewel retorted as she watched Jack and Bridge using their own weapons against the krybots. The girls smiled, "all clear. Thanks Jack," she called through the morpher.

Jewel jumped out of the car as Z pulled over and quickly joined Sky, "what have we got?"

"It looks like some kind of teleportation device," he answered, guiding her to the boxes of diamonds.

"We've got to stop it," Jewel bit her lip.

Syd joined them, "Diamonds!"

"Diamonds that are going to Grumm if we don't stop this," Jewel looked to Sky, "we've got to try something."

"Don't you think I'm trying?" Sky snapped back. "Bridge is the mechanical genius."

Z looked around as they heard screams coming from the van, "keep working," she said. "Syd, come with me."

"This is starting to really annoy me now," growled Jewel, as she tried everything to turn it off, slamming her fists on the machine.

Sky nodded, "you're telling me," he said. "Why did you get Jack to talk to me?"

"Not now Sky," she muttered, glaring at him. "We have bigger priorities like not letting Grumm get hold of these diamonds," she sighed, "wish I had a sonic screwdriver right now…"

Z and Syd ran back to them, "how is it going?" asked Z, stepping back a little as Jewel and Sky glared at them. "Okay, don't answer that."

"There has got to be something we can do to stop the timer," complained Sky, they turned as they heard the sound of Jack and Bridge's motorbikes racing towards them.

Jack waved his arm, "look out," Sky quickly pushed the girls out of the way and the boys fired at the teleportation device.

"That's one way," said Sky, as he pushed himself off the ground.

Z smiled as they made their way back to the crates, "Nice Jack," she said. "You zapped the teleporter."

"Not to mention," smiled Syd, "saved the diamonds."

Sky turned as he heard the Krybots behind him, "excuse me guys, the diamonds aren't safe yet," he pointed to the roof. "Look!"

"Run!" Jack yelled, the rangers ran as fast as they could away from the crates but it was too late the Krybots had already fired, the crates went up in flames. Sky quickly turned and used his force field to protect the team.

Jewel sighed out in relief as the explosion stopped and the diamonds began to fall all around them. "Here I thought you didn't like us anymore."

"Wow," smiled Syd, as she twirled around. "I had a dream like this once, only I was a princess."

Z scoffed, "can it, Syd," she snapped. "Before I lose my breakfast." Krybots jumped down behind them and the rangers turned.

"You guys could use some sun," said Syd, grabbing a diamond, she curled her fist around it. "I summon the stone." Syd's fist turned into sheer glass and she shone the light of the sun at them.

The rangers used this distraction to fight them whilst they were blinded. Jewel snarled as the Krybots tried to attack her from behind, she quickly turned and used her blaster to destroy them.

One Krybot grabbed the biggest diamond they could find and took off with it. Once the other Krybots were defeated they regrouped.

"We have a ground full of diamonds," said Sky, "we can't just leave them here. I suggest someone stays behind and guard them whilst the rest of us report back to Cruger."

Bridge raised his hand, "Oh! Me!"

"Thanks for volunteering," said Jack, looking to Sky.

"Me?" questioned Sky, "I didn't volunteer."

Jack nodded, "okay, Sky then I order you to stay here," he handed him the diamond that he had picked up off the floor.

"Perfect," muttered Sky.

Syd frowned, "one man to guard all these diamonds?"

"Valid point," nodded Jack. "Jewel," he heard Syd moaned, "you can stay with Sky, keep him company."

Jewel frowned, "why me? Why not Syd?" she asked. "She loves diamonds, this would be her dream."

"Because Sky listens to you," he replied, "and you can stop him from doing anything stupid."

Jewel threw her arms up in the air completely exhausted. "What makes you think I can do that?" But it was too late her colleagues were already getting back into their

vehicles and driving back to base.

"Great," muttered Sky, "let's just start getting these diamonds into a pile."

~*walls*~

Sky threw some diamonds on the pile, "this is ridiculous," he complained, standing up and turning to his bike bringing out his water bottle. "We should be debriefing Cruger, not babysitting a bunch of rocks."

"I looked it up," said Jewel, "did you know these diamonds are worth over a million dollars?"

"Did you use google or call the Captain?" asked Sky, as he took a sip of his water.

Jewel smirked, "I'm not giving away my sources."

"Whatever," shrugged Sky, "it's obvious Jack wants to keep me as far away from the action as possible."

"Here we go," Jewel rolled her eyes. "The seniority complex again."

Sky shook his head, "you know he feels threatened by me knowing that I should've been the red ranger."

"Jack had nothing to do with that," she snapped back, "and you know it."

"Whatever, Jewel," muttered Sky, as he drank his water.

Jewel picked up some diamonds, "whatever, Jewel," she impersonated him and threw a diamond at him.

"Knock it off," complained Sky, flicking the diamond off his uniform.

"What are you going to do about it?" smirked Jewel, as she threw more diamonds at him.

Sky sighed, "don't test me or you'll be sorry…"

"Are you going to call the Doctor?" she asked, giggling as Sky stood up and began to walk over to her. "Ooh are you going to call Jack, Gwen, ooh what about Andy?" she chuckled as Sky was now shadowing over her.

Sky unscrewed the lid of the water bottle, "I don't need to call anyone," he shrugged and poured the water all over her, "I can just do this," he laughed as she was now completely drenched.

"I cannot believe it took me looking like the girl out of the ring for you to smile," said Jewel, as she tried to sort her hair out.

"Very funny," Sky turned to sit back down on the crate.

Jewel shook her head, "don't be like that," she jumped and landed hard on two feet in desperation. "It's nice to actually see you smile, you know if you spent more time with us…"

Sky threw up his force field to stop her from talking, he was done listening to her and hoped that she would get the hint.

"Syd should've stayed," she muttered. "Maybe she would get you to open up a bit more."

~*walls*~

Jack had told me you stayed with Sky. Any luck? she stared at the text from the Captain.

Jewel shook her head and began to reply back. More like ordered to and he almost smiled.

That's progress at least, he responded back with a little winky face.

"Progress?" Jewel shook her head and took a selfie so she could send it to Jack.

Sky leaned over her shoulder. "Why are you sending a picture to Jack?"

"To show him what you did to me," she muttered back in response and pressed send. "I thought you were done talking to me anyway?"

Sky sighed, "maybe we should call Jack and tell him that the coast is clear."

"You're gonna leave the diamonds?" asked Jewel, "on their own? You know Grumm will just send some more krybots…"

"Do you think that if he really wanted them Grumm would've sent some already?" retorted Sky, bringing his morpher out from his belt. "Jack, it's all clear at the warehouse, ready to join you."

Jack replied back, "negative Sky," he said. "We are engaging in battle, maintain your position, the troobians are up to something, send Jewel as backup."

"That's my queue," Jewel said, jumping up as she began to walk to the car.

Sky stood up, "I am coming with you."

"No," Jewel turned around, stopping him from going any further. "You are going to stay here, Jack's orders, remember?"

"I am not sitting on the sidelines," said Sky, "I am coming with you."

Jewel shook her head. "Fine," she said. "Do whatever you want because you're not going to listen to me anyway."

"Jewel," sighed Sky, "wait," he called after her but it was too late; she was already getting into the patrol car.

~*walls*~

They had defeated another one of Grumm's robots and had returned back to the base. Sky was called instantly to the command centre for a debriefing with Cruger.

Jewel was standing outside in the corridor, her back against the wall, arms folded and her left foot was resting against the wall, she could hear them slightly, Cruger was yelling at Sky for disobeying another order.

It wasn't until a minute later that Sky had come out looking mortified, "that brutal, huh?"

"Two weeks on night watch," he simply answered, "I know I deserved it."

Jewel nodded, "your right," she said. "I do owe you an apology though some of our fighting might have come from me spending more time with Jack and less time with you."

"No," Sky shook his head, "it's not your fault. You deserve to spend some time with Jack and there are times when I don't even speak to Syd for ages but it's like we never stopped being friends when we do speak…"

"So what's your problem?" she asked, folding her arms.

Sky sighed. "I'm just being a jerk aren't I?"

"Yeah," she smiled, laughing a little bit. "A little bit," she put two of her fingers closer together, showing him a little smidge. "But all is forgiven on my end but if you ever feel like you need to talk you know where I am."

Sky smiled. "Thanks Jewel," he nodded gratefully, as they began to walk back to their bedrooms.

"Just promise me you will actually start listening to me," Jewel said, breaking the silence.

"Me, listen to you?" Sky shook his head. "You never listen to me."

Jewel snorted. "I beg to bloody differ…"

~*walls*~

They were pushing the furniture back in the common room. The Captain was helping push a sofa back with Jewel, "just don't leave me to clean up the mess again."

"Kat said you did a good job," said Syd, with a smile.

Jewel smiled, "a glowing recommendation from Kat," she mused, "and on your first clean up, that's rare."

"Ianto taught me a lot about cleaning you know," the Captain tapped her nose with his finger gently.

"Only because he got pissed off cleaning up after you," she muttered back, smirking at his shocked face.

Z tapped Jewel's and Syd's shoulders, "look who is coming through the door," she grinned widely seeing Jack and Sky walking through.

"Hey," Bridge smiled widely, as he stood up, "are you guys finally getting along?"

Sky nodded, "Jack is actually not a bad guy," he said, showing them the glove that was on his left hand. "Now are we playing light ball or not?"

"Okay," Jack clapped his hands together, "so, teams, I'm thinking boys vs girls?" he suggested.

Syd frowned, "that's not fair," she pointed out. "There are four of you and three of us."

"So…?" snorted Sky. It didn't take long for the B-Squad to get into another argument…
