Chapter 12 Aftermath

In Los Angeles, the heroes and the monsters were grouped together as several citizens formed a crowd and line. Many of them had witnessed the battle on the Golden Gate Bridge and were absolutely fascinated and amazed by the heroes and monsters. Many in the crowd showed a great admiration for Susan and took pictures of the giant woman. Eventually the military arrived on the scene and had the heroes and monsters loaded onto the plane. A large helicopter with a bright light beneath it flew over to Insectosaurus and lured her away from Los Angeles and back to the military base.
"I can't believe I fought a giant robot and saved the city! Never in my wildest dreams would I imagine I do something like that!" Said Susan in excitement.
"I'm still trying to figure out why that robot seemed to be after you." Said Helen.
"If I had to take a guess the robot was possible after the strange radiation that caused Susan to become giant." Said Dr. Cockroach.
"So the meteor that hit me and that robot came from the same place?" Asked Susan.
"Possibly, though we won't really know anything, until the robot is examined by Monger's people. I might join them in their study." Said Dr. Cockroach.
"You think more of those robots might show up looking for Susan?" Asked Mr. Incredible.
"Not sure. As I said we need to study the robot's remains and see what we can learn from it." Said Dr. Cockroach.
"Well if more alien robots show up I'll deal with them!" Said Link as he flexed his muscles.
"You really didn't do that much in the last fight." Said Frozone.
"I was having an off day! That deflector shield took me by surprise! Next time I'll be ready." Said Link.
"So what are you all going to do now that the military is setting you free?" Asked Helen looking at the monsters.
"Well I guess I'll return to my hometown to visit my folks and get married to Derek. Guess I need to see about getting myself a wedding dress and a building to house me, until someone figures how to shrink me back to my normal size." Said Susan.
"I think the government can provide you with housing. As for a wedding dress I think I know someone who would love to make you one." Said Helen.
"Who?" Asked Susan.
"Her name is Edna "E" Mode." Said Helen.
"Edna Mode, the fashion designer?" Asked Susan.
"Well back in the day, Edna designed super suits for all the various heroes and she was really good at it. I'll introduce you to her. I'm sure she would love to design a wedding for you." Said Helen.
"Oh thank you, so much!" Said Susan.
"You know it has occurred to me that the rest of us don't really have a place to call home except the base." Said Dr. Cockroach.
"Well you're all welcome to come live in my hometown and meet my folks and Derek." Said Susan.
"That's very nice of you Susan, but I fear how the rest of the town and the world will treat us. After all we are very different from you. Despite your large size Susan you still have a human appearance and are very attractive. Not to mention many people witness you fight and takedown that alien robot. The rest of us didn't help that much. The people see you as a hero Susan, while they see the rest of us as monsters or freaks." Said Dr. Cockroach as he exchanged looks with B.O.B and Link.
"Hey don't put yourselves down like that! You guys are amazing! We just have to show the rest of the world how great you are." Said Susan.
"She's right. Lucky for you I know just the guy to help you." Said Helen.
"Who?" Asked Dr. Cockroach.
"The CEO of DevTech, Winston Deavor. He helped show the public that Supers we're good for the people and helped legalize them. Winston can help your public image and get the people to love you." Said Helen.
"Well I do like the sound of that. Alright we're in." Said Dr. Cockroach.
"Great I just need to talk to Monger and make some calls." Said Helen.
Things were really looking up for the monsters.
