Sierra ended up getting captured by the enemy. When that happened, she was taken straight to her awful father. The whole time, she was afraid and terrified of him hurting her like he did before. It seemed like Sierra didn't have the courage to stand up to him, but she gained it when he asked her to kill Davis. When he asked that, she stood her ground and opposed him. Just as he was about to unleash his fury on her, Davis showed up just in time and stopped him from doing anything. He also gave him a look like he wanted to kill this guy.
"Let go of her!" Davis demanded as he had a hold of Rico's arm. Rico had a hold of Sierra by the neck, but Davis forced Rico to take his hand off and pushed him off. Sierra took a moment to catch her breath after being in that hold.
"Sierra!" Veemon called as he came running in. "Are you okay?!"
"Si." Sierra said. "I'm actually amazed that you two were able to find me so fast."
"So you're him..." Davis said as he glared right at Rico. "You're the miserable bastard that's made Sierra suffer her whole life."
"And you're the troublesome boy that is interfering with the plans of Lord Qilin." Rico said. "I'm actually impressed you were able to get here after that hit from our own personal predator drone."
"That's nothing compared to what I'm going to do to you." Davis said. "I heard all about what you did to Sierra. I want to know how you could do something like that to someone like her."
"What I do with my daughter is no business of yours." Rico said. "She's my daughter and I do what I want with her!"
"Don't talk like you own her!" Davis shouted. "She's your daughter, not your piece of property!" What this guy has done to Sierra makes Davis sick. He unleashed his sword and held it straight at Rico. "Lucky for you, I'm not gonna kill you! I'm only here to take you prisoner, but that doesn't mean I don't have to hurt you like you've hurt Sierra."
"You might as well just come peacefully. You clearly have nothing to protect you." Veemon said.
"No. He does have something. That's why he brought me here." Sierra said as she just knows there's something in this room to help him fight.
"Very good, my daughter." Rico said. "I might be a scientist, but I surely have a thing or two that will be able to help me." That was when something came out of the shadows behind him. It looked like a cable, but it was slithering around like a snake. It came at Rico and a harness came around him. When that happened, he was pulled up towards the back wall with some lights coming on.
"What is this?!" Davis said as he and the others were shocked at what they were seeing. Rico was pulled into some sort of control system for a system on the whole wall that was broken into three pieces. One piece looked like a machine gun. One piece looked like a giant saw. The last piece, the piece that Rico controlled from, looked like a mechanical face with razor-sharp teeth.
"I don't suppose you ever saw that before, Sierra." Veemon said as they were all a little astonished by what they saw.
"I'm sorry, but I have not." Sierra said.
"The others are all outside." Davis told Sierra. "This building has some sort of auto-defense system. They're all trying to get around it, but looks like we might be on our own."
"That's fine." Sierra said as she felt like she needed to make her mistakes right. "I promise you when I say that I can do this." This time, Davis did believe her.
"Well, let's take this miserable bastard down!" Davis said as he fully unleashed Dragonic Heaven. "You're going down!" He flew straight at Rico in the center of his machine. He thought he had Rico, but Rico pulled another surprised at him. An energy barrier formed around Rico and his machine. Davis bounced off it with him getting a little shocked from it.
"You're clearly not that smart." Rico taunted. "Did you really think I wouldn't have some sort of defense of my own?"
"I actually didn't." Davis said as he got himself back up. Actually, this is a little cool. This feels the most like a boss battle in a video game."
"And I'm afraid it's game over for you!" Rico claimed as he took aim with the machine gun. The head of the gun was able to stick out of the barrier and opened fired on him. Davis flew around to try and avoid the bullets, but it wasn't easy to do in a convince space like this one.
"Davis!" Sierra called and tried to join in the fight. She unleashed her I.S., Leonardo Flyer, and helped out. She aimed straight at her father's machine gun and tried to shoot it down, but all her shots were just bouncing off the barrier.
"Sierra, watch out!" Veemon called. Sierra saw the saw was coming at her with the chain sticking out of the barrier. She was able to act fast enough and got out of it's path. "Davis, have me digivolve so I can help you guys fight!"
"You got it!" Davis said as he was able to use his D3 and had Veemon armor digivolved to Flamedramon. Flamedramon tried helping out as he tried shooting flames at Rico, but those flames didn't have any effect either.
"Are you all that stupid?!" Rico taunted. "My barriers keep me and my equipment safe! You won't be able to stop me like this, let alone catch me!"
"I hate it when these guys think they're going to getaway with things, but I do love the look of disappointment they show when they end up getting proven wrong." Davis said as he had an idea to get around him. "Sierra! Flamedramon! Aim for the joints!"
"The joints?" Sierra questioned. She looked around to see what he was talking about until she saw it. He was referring the arms that allowed those weapons to move. "Got it!" She opened fired on one of the joints and tried getting them to fall apart, but her bullets weren't working on them. "It's not working!"
"I got it!" Flamedramon said as he leaped right at one of them. He smashed his claws against them, but they wouldn't break either. Rico just laughed at the efforts.
"Do you really not see it?! You have greatly underestimated my genius!" Rico continued to taunt them. "The joints are comprised of a reinforced alloy that won't break so easily!" Rico believed he had every advantage. He continued with his assaults as the third piece of his machine activated and fired lasers from the parts that resemble eyes and a mouth.
"Damn!" Davis complained as he and the others moved around as best as they could and avoided the lasers. However, Davis did spot that Sierra ended up right where Rico wanted her. "Sierra! Above you!" He called. Sierra looked up and saw the saw was about to come down on her and it seemed like she was going to get out of the way in time. Luckily, Davis came in and saved her just in time. He pushed her out of the way, but the saw came down and crashed on him.
"Davis!" Sierra screamed. She was afraid he was hurt, but it looks like Davis is holding out against it. He did his best to hold it back with his sword, but the pressure was coming down hard. His shield energy was draining rapidly.
"See what you have done, Sierra!" Rico called. "See what you did by opposing me?! If you did what you were suppose to from the start, your precious "friends" wouldn't be in this mess!" He's trying to get under her skin, abuse her like he did before.
"Sierra, don't listen to him!" Davis called.
"I'm not." Sierra said as she tried to think of some way to beat that machine.
"There is nothing you can do!" Rico declared.
"Don't be so sure!" Davis shouted as he was able to slip out of the way just before the saw came down on him. He took deep breaths to try and regain his composure. "Sierra, you're a smart girl. I'm sure you can think of some way to beat him."
"She's stupid and useless! What could she do?!" Rico called. Sierra was doing her best to live up to what Davis believed. She looked around and soon found the answers that they might need. She looked down at the floor and saw something was shining through there.
"Flamedramon! Help me open up the floor!" Sierra called.
"The floor?" Flamedramon questioned.
"I won't let you!" Rico called as he tried attacking them again with the saw and the gun, but they all moved fast and tried to stay out of their reach.
"Sierra, I'll draw his attention! Whatever you're going to do, can you do it in the back of the room?!" Davis said.
"I can!" Sierra said as she and Flamedramon moved back and got out of the Rico's reach. "Here!" She pointed to the floor on where she wanted Flamedramon to use his powers.. Flamedramon used his flames to melt and burn through the floor and was giving her clear access to what was under there.
"I won't let you!" Rico shouted as he did whatever he could to try and stop them, but Davis got in the way and tried to block each of his attacks as best as he could. When Flamedramon was able to burn through the metal, Sierra could see wires, conduits, and circuits with power flowing through and into the machine.
"Got it!" Sierra said. "You might want to shield your eyes or something, Flamedramon."
"How about I just move." Flamedramon said as he just ducked out of there. As for Sierra, she flew up and rapidly fired right inside there. Spark and such were flying out of the floor and causing a series of problems. When that happened, the forcefields around Rico's machine.
"What happened?!" Rico said.
"You're going down is what's going on!" Davis said as he didn't miss the chance. He slashed right through the machine gun and cut it in half. Flamedramon helped as he aimed for the motor of the saw and destroyed it with his flames. Rico was trying to keep his machine together, but nothing was responding. Davis finished it as he took his sword and jammed it right in the center of the last piece.
"No... No!" Rico shouted as he lost full control of his entire machine and it ended up dropping to the floor. "No. How could this have happened?" Rico was astonished they were able to get the better of him like that. His troubles and fear only grew when Sierra appeared right in front of him and aimed her guns right at him. "Sierra... You wouldn't... I'm your father." He actually had the nerve to beg for mercy after what he's done to her.
"Hold on, Sierra." Davis said. "Remember that we need him alive to tell us about the Shadow Units. As much as he deserves to pay for what he's done to you, you got to keep in control."
"I know, Davis. You don't need to worry." Sierra said as she assured him that everything was fine. "You're coming with us, Papa. Don't try anything." It seemed like they had Rico, but Rico had another trick up his sleeve.
"Not a chance." Rico said as he pressed a hidden button. When he did that, smoke shot straight out of his machine and blinded Sierra.
"Sierra!" Davis called.
"Get him!" Flamedramon shouted. They tried to grab Rico and help Sierra, but Rico was already gone and he made an escape through a hidden passage in the wall.
"Damn! He escaped!" Davis complained.
"He had an escape route planned." Sierra said as it didn't really surprise her. "Davis, what about the others? Shouldn't they have been here?"
"Oh yeah!" Davis said as he realized that they could still be in trouble and tried to get in contact with them. "Marinda, are you there? Can you hear me?"
"Davis? What's going on? Where are you?" Marinda asked.
"I'm with Sierra. We're fine, but what about you and the others?" Davis asked.
"Just finishing up here." Marinda said as she and the others destroyed the last of the building's defenses. "What about you and the others?"
"We're fine, but the lousy professor got away." Davis said. Not what Marinda wanted to hear.
"Very well. We'll just have to hope we get something from the computers. I can take it from there, so you and the others better head back to the jet." Marinda said. That sounded good to them. They just wanted to get out of there.
...
Outside
Davis, Veemon, and Sierra were heading back to the jet, but they had to walk through there. That part wasn't enjoyable either.
"Sorry about this, Sierra. We burned through all our units power, but Veemon used up a good deal of strength back there either. He's use to fighting digimon, not robots." Davis said as none of them really liked just walking through there.
"Hey! Are you saying I'm not fit? Look at these guns." Veemon said as he flexed his muscles...until they just went flabby.
"It's fine, Davis. I'm just glad this is over, even though I know my father is sure to return." Sierra said, but the thought didn't really scare her. "Still, I feel real proud of myself."
"And you should. You stood up to your father, the bastard." Davis said as he was real proud of her.
"Still, I have you to thank for that." Sierra said as she felt truly grateful to him. It was like she was falling for him all over again. "If I hadn't met you, I never would have had the strength to do what I did back there. It's all thanks to you."
"Come on. You're going to make me blush." Davis said as he felt embarrassed. "It's just like I said earlier, Sierra. I made a promise that I'm going to keep. I promised that your father is never going to hurt you again." Sierra thought Davis was amazing, and he continues to give her the strength she needs. She just couldn't hold back anymore.
"Davis..." Sierra said with his attention on her and he could see her blushing. Out of nowhere to Davis, Sierra came at him and actually kissed him. That's the second time a kiss like that came out of nowhere to him. Veemon practically looked like the famous Scream painting from seeing that. When Sierra backed away, Davis was awestruck from it.
"What was that for?" Davis said.
"You told me you think there's something special about Kari. Well, I think there's something special about you." Sierra said and kept walking with a smile and blush on her face. Just what Davis needs, another girl to puzzle his head.
