Adamant for Adaman
Mission Gone Wrong
Part 1
Author Notes: Now...the time has come to jump into more juicy plot then the scene chapters. And a two parter lol. Let us get going...especially since Sen is almost done with the game-and that means he can actually read this. I do not own Pokemon.
3rd PO.V
This was supposed to be a simple request. Find the alolan vulpix(or Keokeo as Keaka called them) that went missing and bring them back. It shouldn't be this difficult. But of course one thing that didn't cross her mind was...just how well they camouflaged into the snowy terrain.
"That's three down...two to go." It wasn't easy being a member of the Galaxy Survey Corps. Long hours, constant stares full of disdain and suspicion and life threatening situations. In todays case, it's nearly freezing to death.
Because an angry glalie decided to cause a blizzard after a swinub tried stealing its food. "Ugh!" The sun was starting to set, making the already intense chill reaching colder temperatures. Desperately the girl that fell from the sky wanted to head back to camp and stop for the day.
She had already found three of the five...and with them being ice types they could easily survive(actually they'd thrive) in this weather. However, she wasn't a quitter. She was tasked to find them as soon as possible so she would keep going.
Plus...even if she DID decide to come back. Keaka...would be looking so sad and pitiful that the Survey Corps member would feel guilty. So even when the moon rose to the sky and the winds ripped through her clothes she would keep searching.
With gritting teeth, she grabs her flute, playing a familiar tune in the hopes the Noble pokemon she needed would hear her call. And fortunately he did. Lord Wyrdeer came, as gallant as ever to assist her.
"Hey buddy. Mind giving me a lift? There's some pokemon I need to find." She gives the pokemon a good rub on his neck before getting settled on his back. "Ninetales I choose you!" With her own kantonian ninetales to help, hopefully she would not be out too much longer.
Immediately her partner saw her trainer's exhaustion and nuzzled her leg. "I'll be ok. Mind keeping your eyes peeled for your cousins? We got two more to go." Her poke companion sniffs the air, her eyes narrowed before shooting towards the north. "Let's go!"

This meeting was an ongoing pattern of discussions not going anywhere. It was clearly a waste of time, something that frustrated Adaman to no end. "As it stands my teacher finds no reason to try and quell Lord Avalugg's frenzy." It feels like every day he and the Pearl clan leader, Irida come to Jubilife to speak to Kamado.
Each time they come reporting that one of their wardens or a cluster of Survey Corps members are worried about the carnage of a frenzied noble. And every time, Kamado forces the job of stopping the frenzied noble onto his newest member, Shishi.
"Though the population is far less in number compared to other territories, with how big and powerful it is, could cause massive damage. I'll send word to Shishi at once!" Despite being a fresh face, she was far more qualified and capable of handling the task than the others.
Though she was always made to do it without help. As if she needed to prove herself. After all her hard efforts, dedicating herself to help people and pokemon alike she is still looked upon with suspicion.
Frankly were it not the fact that he had to follow protocol to keep relations between the three groups peaceful, he'd rather just go to her. Be a lot easier and less time consuming in his opinion. Plus she was delightful company.
"Sir! Apologies for intruding!" It was Rei. The poor boy was panting, barely able to stand as he struggled to take in air. "What is it Rei?" Unless summoned, not too many found themselves at the commander's door.
At least not for a good reason. "It's been three days and there has not been a report from Shishi. No one has seen her!" Dread begins to form in everyone's stomach at the news. "Where was she last seen?" Well, everyone but the commander himself.
His expression not at all looking concerned. "Alabaster Icelands. She was doing a request for Keaka." Kamado rested his head on his interlaced fingers, pondering. "If that is the case then she is already in Lord Avalugg's territory. It's possible she's already encountered him."
That doesn't make things any better. "So what are we waiting for?!" Adaman threw his hand out, worry in his eyes. "Rei, you and Irida meet me there, we along with any other members who are free will search the area." It was a sound plan.
"Calm yourself Adaman. There's no reason to send out a search party when we don't know the situation. For all we know she just got too invested in her research." But easily argued against as the elder man raised his palm. Though the Diamond clan chief shook his head.
He didn't agree with him at all. "Though it may be true that Shishi tends to lose track of time when venturing, she always made sure to report back by the end of the day. Especially in the more hostile areas." For her to not report back after three full days was a huge concern.
A concern Adaman made sure to point out. Though Irida and Kamado gave him surprised expressions. "How do you even know that?" At that Adaman rolled his eyes. He shouldn't even need to explain his logic.
"Come now Irida. Surely you've spent as much time with her as I've with dealing with these frenzied lords. And though she can be carefree, Shishi is no fool, even if she spends weeks out in the wild, she always makes sure to send in her reports specifically so situations like this don't happen."
He remembered one such time a few weeks ago. She had been at his settlement after dealing with an alpha hippwodon AND alpha torterra, absolutely exhausted. Both he and his sister Mai had offered her some food and a bed so that she could rest.
Though she had accepted the offer gratefully, she hadn't stopped for said offers until she had at least finished compiling a letter listing all of her findings sent out via starly. Her smiling while explaining to him just how she just wasn't the type to do things half assed sparked something. Something he could relate and appreciate.
Which is why he was definitely anxious of her disappearance. "That's true. There were times where I would see her well into the night at a base, giving her pokemon letters full of reports to deliver..." Irida nibbles her lips, now on the same page as her rival clan chief.
So the two look towards the Galaxy Expedition team leader and head of Jubilife Village once more. "Have any able and willing members meet us there, so we can look for her." With those final words Adaman leaves. Not willing to waste another second chatting. He had a friend to find.
to be continued
