Light and Dark

The Tamers from the band Vehemenxia and Kairi still were shaken by the darkness of the strange Tamers that they faced at Bacchusmon's Temple. They dealed with wild Digimon lately, but none of them was as threatening as that tainted MachGaogamon. Sleimy knew about the existence of teleportation plates for traveling between the Digital World's layers. The group was so tired of the Forest Zone's creatures that they jumped at the first one. They quickly reached the Plains Zone, which so far seemed to be more peaceful.

However, the band members and Kairi overheard some people talking nearby. Since their awful time with the Dark Signers, they were naturally wary of any unknown group of Tamers. Sleimy tried to figure out which Digimon partners did they have. She was relieved when she spotted a Renamon and a Lunamon, as those Digimon didn't like evil beings.

The Japanese Tamers were unsure if it would be easy to talk with the other group due to language differences. Kouta was the worst option as his English was abysmal. Either Rui or Kairi had to do that task. The issue was that the Tamer from the other group that was a native English speaker happened to be a thug, who talked with a lot of slang. In the end, the best bet was to let the Digimon do all the chatting.

Madeleine felt secondhand embarrassment when Fynn talked with so much slang per minute with the newcomers. Aleksandr also didn't miss the chance to ask the band Vehemenxia for their autographs. Nobody in his group thought that he would be able to identify the others that easily.

Amaterasu interrogated Sleimy, Pyroxene, Mandala, and Fugen about the enemies that they faced. She wanted to confirm if the spider-controlled Digimon were just an isolated problem, but when they mentioned the corrupted MachGaogamon and the flames that surrounded them during their fight against the Dark Signers, the Renamon panicked.

"If there is a lizard and a hummingbird Dark Signer, and the flames looked like Cutemon's, then there must be a Tamer that controls those spiders," Amaterasu muttered.

"I don't understand why your friends only fought against Devas and that lone Cutemon. Demonic Digimon and those Dark Signers attacked us instead," Sleimy was baffled by that fact.

"The Devas harmed our team just because we partnered with humans. They even insulted Ammy and Artemis, calling them traitors," Dagda added.

Gammamon and Jellymon didn't understand any word about the discussion of light and dark Digimon. The triceratops winced when Amaterasu mentioned Makuramon, as the bad memories were too fresh for him. Jellymon didn't like unfair Digimon, so if those Devas hunted down others only for befriending humans, then they weren't really good in her eyes.

While the two Tamers group exchanged information about their experiences dealing with Digimon, the day suddenly turned into the night. The skies weren't pitch black, having instead some ominous purple shades.

A bunch of Angoramon and SymbareAngoramon that lived nearby were startled by the shift. They ran away, trying to hide inside their rabbit nests.

Sleimy and Amaterasu understood that this was the work of a demonic creature, so they became extremely alert of any suspicious movements. Artemis sniffed the air, hissing as she sensed the smell of miasma.

Whatever or whoever was nearby clearly didn't belong anymore to the realm of the living.

Two cloaked humanoid figures ambushed the group, grinning evilly when they recognized the Japanese Tamers. Miura and Rui had a bad feeling about them.

The 'Tamers' showed their faces, making Miura scream in terror when one of them spoke.

"It's been some time, my dear friends…" one of them stated.

The band Vehemenxia finally found their lost drummer, but not in the way that they would expect at all.

Rui froze when he also recognized a woman that worked in a grocery store. How did that innocent veterinarian become a monster?
