Chapter 8: Practice with Good and Evil.
It was evening when he arrived at the mental hospital in Tokyo. Was this a good idea? Perhaps. Could it lead nowhere and end up being a waste of time? Always a possibility. But that vision he saw was far too dangerous to ignore not to act on any lead that might get wind of.
It was difficult in explaining to the head doctor of the facility as to why he needed to speak with the patient Abigail Yammoto, especially when he had never engaged with the woman before or during her internment, but thankfully his status as a Pro Hero won out.
The patient Sir Nighteye needed to interview was a bigger mess than he honestly expected. Apparently she was under constant supervision by staff after a particularly horrific episode she had suffered from.
Abigail Yammoto, was the daughter of an America woman and a Japanese man who had moved from America to Japan before she was born. Both of her parents, unfortunately, are deceased after a gas leak explosion five years ago claiming both of their lives.
According to police, Abigail had tried to warn them about it, but they had shrugged off her concerns. She had a habit of seemingly exaggerating things in the past so nobody really took her seriously.
Unbeknownst to almost everyone, Abigail's warnings were a result of her Quirk, the so called Omen.
The young woman was capable of envisioning events in the future, similar to his own ability, only she never had control over her power, her visions were sporadic, and only told of bad things hence the title. Even worse when she couldn't tell exactly when some events were going to happen.
It had apparently been so bad that she attempted suicide three times, something which shocked Sir. To say it bluntly, her mind was at constant breaking point.
The death of her parents is what pushed her over the edge, leading to a complete mental breakdown. So now she is kept at a mental hospital, tied up in a straight jacket, and in a padded cell.
She had been kept here for five years. Her Quirk ensuring that she would ever find respite.
When Sir Nighteye had overheard a conversation one of his sidekicks was having, talking about her friend's experience with Abigail's most recent and by far worst breakdown, he had to investigate.
"This is her cell Sir Nighteye," the staff member escorting him said, "She should be reasonably stable right now, but we'll be on standby if something happens."
The Hero nodded, "Thank you."
"Please be careful sir."
He enter the cell and was greeted by the curled up form of Abigail Yammoto in the corner, head down, and shivering.
"Abigail Yammoto?" he asked.
She didn't respond.
"Ms. Yammoto," he tried again.
Still her head remained down.
"Abiga-"
"Just go away."
Her voice was meek, barely audible.
"I'm sorry I can't do that, not until you help me."
"I can't help anyone, don't you doctors already know this."
Sir Nighteye sighed, "I'm not a doctor, I'm a Pro Hero, my name is Sir Nighteye and I need to-"
At the sound of his name Abigail's head snapped up, her eyes wide with fear.
"What are you doing here!? You need to leave, before that thing finds you!"
Her outburst caught Sir by surprise, "What do you-"
"Y-you need to flee the country! Find somewhere to hide! You can't be here! Not you, not Snipe, not even ALL Might! You all need to run!"
She was beginning to become frantic, but his still needed to push further. "Ma'am, that's precisely why I'm here."
She paused, "W-what?"
"I your vision is why I needed to speak with you," he got down to her level and looked her right in the eyes, "Abigail, I need you to tell me everything you saw."

The sun was bright and a cooling breeze flowed through Frisk's hair, gently sawing her brown locks. She looked around and saw Sans relaxing underneath a tree behind his snack stand that he built and then immediately took a break right after.
Asgore in his favorite pink button down shirt sitting on a picnic blanket with his son, Asriel, both were enjoying some homemade sandwiches they had made.
Alphys and Undyne were spending time with each other by doing some light exercising in which the dinosaur-like monster squatted with a light medicine ball and Undyne used the car that they drove to get here.
Papyrus was playing fetch with a fluffy white dog, but every time he threw the frisbee all of the dog guards rushed to chase it as well, much to the skeleton's frustration.
Everyone was happy under the bright blue sky. They all had a right to be.
Frisk turned around and walked towards Toriel, who was sitting on a bentch reading one of her favorite snail books. Seemingly sencing Frisk's eyes on her she looked up and smiled, patting the open spot next to her.
"Come, my child, have a seat next to me."
Frisk's legs moved her closer to Toriel, eager to sit clsoe to her once again.
But as she got closer, Toriel moved further away.
Frisk picked up her pace, even as the sky darkened and the breeze stopped.
Yet Toriel moved further and further.
Frisk began to run as the faces of her friends began to melt away.
Still with a smile, Toriel sank into the darkness.
Frisk reached out her hand in an attempt to be with her goat mom one last time.
Toriel's smile disappeared along with the last bit of light.
…
…
Frisk stood still, hand still outstreached, and stared.
Right.
There had been nothing here. There was nothing here. There would be nothing here.
She stood quietly as she bathed in this familiar feeling. It was suffocating, constricting, maddening.
Her arm fell limp by her side as she once again waited.
Soon the nothingness began to fade away as Frisk began to wake.
But just as consciousness dragged her back to reality, a booming thought raced through her head.
YOU ARE ALONE
-XXXX-
The sunlight from the window beamed down onto Frisk's face as she laid in bed. Her eyes were open, barely, and a frown on her face as she continued to stare at the celling. Arms positioned with one under her head and another draped over her stomach.
Another one of those dreams again.
After a minute of staring Chara's spectral face entered her field of view.
"Finally awake sleepyhead," she teased.
Frisk only groaned and shifted to her side, hoping to fall back to sleep.
"Now, now, you can't stay in bed all day, not when we have so much to do." Her voice was sickeningly sweet, she got that way when she was upset about something. Then all of the sudden Frisk was flung out of her bed landing upside-down with a loud thud.
Chara floated by the edge of the mattress looking rather pleased with herself.
"There, now we can get ready to start this stupid deal you dragged the both of us into."
Before Frisk could reply loud foot steps quickly advance toward her door from the outside and in an instant Mitsuki barged in the room wearing a bathrobe and holding a mug of coffee. Her eyes looked like Alphys' when Papyrus accidently dropped her newly acquired CD of "Mew Mew Kissy Cutie: Kittycute, season 7 Special Edition" onto the street where it got run over by ten cars and a bus. Suffice to say the display of strength impressed Undyne and the rest of the Royal Guard.
Anyway, Katsuki's mom stood in the doorway, hair messier than normal. "Frisk," she said, her voice low and dangerous, "It's too early for your shenanigans. What are you doing on the floor?"
Frisk, upside down with her legs hanging over her head, could only respond with: "Oh, ya know, layin' low."
…
"Anyway, seeing as you're up you might as well get ready for the day. You and Katsuki have a train to catch…apparently," her eyes got really dangerous for a moment. Then Frisk gave her an upside down thumbs-up; making her fail at trying to hide her amusement. The matriarch of the household walked away, shaking her head, and grumbling what sounded like 'The things I put up for cute kids.'
Now alone, Frisk allowed herself to role flat to the ground and picked herself up.
"You always seem to have an effect with moms where ever you go," Chara chimed in.
"She's just like Toriel, but only opposite," Frisk responded while slipping on her signature blue with purple stripes sweater.
"Nnn-no. No she's not."
The small child got the rest of her clothes on and made her way out of her room and went straight to the kitchen. There Mitsuki was preparing herself some breakfast and Masaru was drinking his own coffee while reading news off of his phone.
Frisk took a seat next to Masaru at the table, craning her neck to try and peek at whatever the man was reading. He smiled at her antics and took a sip of his coffee. Mitsuki then walked over and placed a bowl of cereal in front of Frisk before settling down at the table with her own plate of breakfast.
The three quietly enjoyed their breakfast in silence before the familiar sound of aggravated stomping made its way to the dining room. Katsuki had finally awoken, fully dressed for school. His head was still wrapped with bandages from yesterday.
"Mornin'," he grumbled walking over to the fridge.
"Morning," everyone responded in kind.
Having grabbed his own food, the explosive blonde took a seat at the table and began to eat. His eyes stay focused on his plate, refusing to look up as he angrily chewed his food.
Masaru was the first to break the silence, "You know I'm still surprised that you're letting Frisk 'off the leash' so to speak. I just hope this won't end up being a problem."
Mitsuki nodded tiredly, "At this point I can't care anymore. Frisk would end up there one way or another. Isn't that right?"
Said Frisk looked up from her bowl of half eaten cereal, nodded, and then returned to eating the rest of her "Might Flakes", packed with nutrition to make kids mighty!
Masaru chuckled at his wife's unamused huff.
Katsuki, who had been quietly eating his food, grunted angrily gaining his mother's attention.
"We'll it's not hard to figure out Katsuki's feelings on the matter," Mitsuki said teasingly, "You know, with how much Frisk likes you I should just have her keep an eye on you all the time."
Katsuki slammed his fists on the table, "N-no, noo no, nonononono!"
Both of his parents laughed at their son's flustered face and soon after a heated argument between mother and son flared with the poor husband trying to clam both parties down. Frisk on the other hand was thinking what today would bring.
Maybe they'd go on an adventure, or maybe they'll do more of those weird Quirk exercises.
OR maybe a bunch of villains will attack the school in some desperate and illogical way with the goal to wipeout everyone's hopes and dreams and ruin the current state of society!
…
Hey, you don't know.
…
The child put her musings aside when everyone got up and readied themselves for the day. Frisk followed suit and went to grab her backpack filled with everything important, like: her drawing paper and crayons (in case she got board), a couple of juice boxes (she grabbed few extra to share with the hobo-bean-man), and a plastic container with some butterscotch pie she made last night.
When she emerged from her room the front door of the house slammed shut and frantic running could be heard getting more and more distant.
Seems like Katsuki was running away again.
No matter. The thought of infiltrating U.A. again to meet her new friends filled her with DETERMINATION.
…
"Just so you know, I'm keeping the knife handy."
-XXXX-
If he was being honest with himself, Toshinori Yagi was nervous for his upcoming class. He, All Might, number 1 hero in Japan and one of the top heroes in the world was nervous about teaching a bunch of kids. Worst part of it was he only agreed to become a teacher here to find a suitable successor for One of All and before the previous school year finished he had found young Midoriya Izuku, rendering everything before that a moot point. But despite the circumstances, the number one hero wouldn't shirk on his duties to teach the upcoming generation of heroes and he would never roll back on his decision to make Izuku his successor. He had made his choices and he was going to own up on them.
As he approached class 1-A's classroom, he saw Aizawa making his way down the hall dragging his yellow sleeping bag looking tired as ever.
"Hello there Aizawa-kun! Just finished your time with your homeroom class I see!" Yagi, as All Might, greeted.
"Yes," the underground hero replied, "as well as their plus one." He looked really annoyed suddenly.
"Plus one? Is there a guest with the class today?"
Aizawa's eye twitched, "Apparently."
Before All Might could ask what the tired man meant, he walked right by him and proceeded down the hall.
"Good luck with the little headache, I need to talk to Nezu about this."
Somewhat confused, the number one hero continued to the class room and mentally readied himself for the day.
The door was open when he arrived, so All Might took a breath and entered the room.
"I AM HERE, entering the room like a normal person!" he proclaimed, going through the door like how a totally normal person would.
As expected, the entire class was in awe.
"It's All Might!"
"Is that his Silver Age costume?"
"He really is teaching in U.A."
All Might enjoyed the enthusiastic call outs of the students. While he was never a man of ego and pride, he always loved seeing smiles on people's faces.
The hero scanned his eyes over the class making sure all heads were accounted for, only to pause when his eyes landed on young Bakugo's desk. His sight was greeted by not one, but two people sitting at the desk.
Bakugo himself and the unexpected face of Frisk.
What on Earth was she doing here? He saw her yesterday at Aizawa's Quirk Assessment Test and he knew Bakugo had to speak with the Principle after he woke up in the infirmary, so why was she still here?
"Uh, young Bakugo, why is there a small child on your desk?"
Bakugo didn't immediately respond, if anything a scowl creased his face as he kept his arms crossed and growled. Frisk simply tilted her head and looked confused?
"She won't stop following me and no matter what we do she keeps sneaking in the school," the blonde finally responded.
That was certainly unexpected and also a huge security breach. Oh well he'd just have to play it off for now, "Hmm, judging by how familiar you are with this girl I can only assume one thing. She's your little sister!"
What resulted from that declaration was a few things. One: half the class broke out into snickering. Two: young Bakugo was rendered a sputtering mess at the claim (much like young Izuku now that he thought about it). And three: he swore he almost heard some kind of ethereal laughter for a moment.
"I AM NOT HER GODDAMN BROTHER!" Bakugo yelled.
All Might raised his hands in a calming gesture, "Easy there young Bakugo, I made an unfair assumption, my mistake. But that still doesn't answer my question why she's here. I'll have to tell the Principle about this however."
"Don't bother, he knows."
The hero looked at the blonde in confusion.
"Eh? He knows?"
The teen scoffed, "Ask him. I'm sure he'll give you the same dumb reason he gave us."
A note for later then.
"Well, I certainly don't understand this, but I what you say is true then I'll be sure to give him a call. But right now that isn't important. What is important is that I'm running your practical heroics class today! And the agenda today…BATTLE TRAINING!"
That got the class excited, Bakugo especially.
"But before that, one key to being a well known hero is looking good!" he pressed a remote on the podium revealing 20 suit cases from the walls of the class room. "Today you get to use your hero costumes for this exercise. This will serve as a decent test drive for you kids. Meet me at test ground Beta in 30 minutes! Now if you'll excuse me I need to make a quick phone call."
And with that, All Might pulled out his phone and exited the room intent on calling Nezu and figuring out just why the heck Frisk was still in U.A. grounds.
-XXXX-
Frisk wasn't allowed to follow Katsuki into the locker room. The tall, blue haired teen explained that it would be "an affront to U.A.'s reputation if she was allowed into the men's locker room" and "it would be wise for her to learn that they are some palaces that little girls shouldn't go", whatever he meant by that. Then the girls of the class offered to keep an eye on her instead until they made it to the training area. So here Frisk was in the girl's locker room, watching them gossip amongst themselves as they changed into their hero costumes.
Frisk sat on a bench at the back and simply observed, swinging her little legs. The teens didn't pay her any mind as they readied themselves giving the child a moment with Chara, who manifested by her side.
"Looking at the lot of them, I defiantly think we're in one of those shows that Alphys forced us to watch. I mean look at that one, her chest is way too big!" She pointed at the tall girl with the pretty face and ponytail.
Frisk didn't really get why that was an issue or what Chara meant by that at all, I mean why would she need to carry a chest around when she could make stuff out of her body? However, she could agree that the fantastic parts of their current life made that first claim make some sense.
The outfits of the heroes in training were certainly diverse. Many of them were skintight bodysuits and were brightly colored, like that pink girl's. Funnily enough the same girl Frisk met at the soup stand when she first got here. The bored looking black haired girl, however, seemed to be in casual clothes with big boots.
It was all quite dazzling to say the least.
Frisk put a finger on her chin, maybe she should get a costume as well?
"No," Chara said suddenly beside her, "Whatever you're thinking, no. I forbid it."
She pouted, but before she could make her argument the girl with rosy cheeks came up to her, Uraraka right?
"So, Frisk-chan right? I hope you don't mind me asking, but how are you still at U.A.? N-not to say you're not welcome or anything, we're just curious."
Behind her many of the other girls attention was drawn to them. The girl that resembled a frog walked up next to Uraraka in a green jumpsuit. "She's right. U.A. is known for being incredibly strict, Uraraka-kun said you snuck in during orientation, kero. You even got past the walls yesterday when things weren't nearly as hectic."
Frisk gave a smile and wiggled her dangling feet excitedly. "I jumped in the homeless guy's sleeping bag!" she announced proudly.
All of the girls in the locker room bore witness to the unfiltered cuteness of Frisk and immediately caved. She really was adorable.
"Oh my God, she's so cute!" exclaimed a pair of floating gloves? Everyone agreed with her.
Then the pink girl with horns, Mina, paused and took on a thoughtful expression. "Homeless guy? Wait you mean Aizawa-sensei!?" With that revelation, she burst out into laughter and was soon joined in by a few other girly giggles form the others who also made the connection.
"Dude, he totally looks like he's homeless doesn't he!" the punk rocker said.
"While I wouldn't go so far as to say that, I will admit he doesn't have the guise of a hero at first glance," the tall girl with the pony tail replied between her giggling.
Frisk's smile widened showing off some teeth. Yes, people were happy and she didn't even have to try that time!
Chara just rolled her eyes.
Suddenly she was hugged by Mina (to which she gladly returned) and lifted off her spot on the bench. "Oh she so precious, can we keep her?"
The frog girl, Tsuyu, put a finger on her cheek, "Maybe, but Bakugo-kun might get all mad again, Kero."
"But he's always mad!"
"Yeah, but he gets really loud."
The girls giggled at the fact and Mina put Frisk back onto the bench before talking amongst themselves again. Chara groaned, boredom reaching an all time high.
It wasn't long before all the girls had their costumes on and headed out to the training arena they were told to assemble at. Frisk held Tsuyu's hand as they walked. The Frog girl was surprised when her hand was suddenly grasped, but didn't say anything against it. Along the way they met up with the boys of the class and proceeded to dramatically walk into the training grounds where All Might, in all his spandexed glory, waited.
"They say the clothes make the Pros and right now all of you look like proper heroes in training!" All Might said, smile ever present.
And indeed they did.
All the students in Class 1-A were sporting their new costumes solidifying their place as up and coming heroes of the future.
The costumes were as diverse as the people that wore them ranging from the simplistic yet stylish outfit of Jiro, to the outlandishly flamboyant suit of armor and sparkling cape of Aoyama. The intimidating explosive façade of Katsuki (as expected) to the approachable and friendly bowl of grapes look by Mineta.
"This getting me all excited! YOU GUYS LOOK SO COOL!" All Might exclaimed to his new students.
Each costume captured the personality every student perfectly and if she was being honest, Frisk was a little jealous.
Where was her awesome hero costume?
"Now before we start, I believe we're missing one person," All Might said as he addressed the class.
A few people looked around trying to discern who that was. Uraraka was the first to notice who was missing, but before she could bring it up she looked back to see Midoriya making his way to the rest of them. And like the rest of them , he too was decked out in his own hero costume.
It was green, very green, looked like it wasn't very durable, and (after Frisk looked back and forth between All Might and Midoriya) had the tell-tale signs of All Might's signature hair style and smile.
The little girl giggled.
"Looks like that 'support department' screwed the pooch on his," Chara criticized.
"Well, now that everyone is here we can begin with today's exercise!" All Might declared, "Its time for Combat Training!"
Everyone looked surprised at the declaration. Few of the boys get excited at the news (guess who's included) before Iida's hand shot up.
He looked like one of the royal guards with his armor.
"Sir, I have a question," he began, "This is the fake city from our Entrance Exam. Will this mean we will be conducting urban battles again?
That was a good question. A lot of Anime fights happened in big cities so this was the perfect place for them. Frisk got all giddy at being able to see one in person.
However, her overactive imagination was interrupted when the hero spoke next. "Not quite. Instead, I will be bumping you up two steps ahead of the usual. Most of the villains heroes fight on the news happen outside; however, statistically, the most dastardly and conniving of villains and criminals that heroes face happen indoors. Backroom deals, home invasions, robberies, secret lairs, these kinds of encounters happen inside, with close spaces and twists and turns to evade and lose pros. Truly, the most intelligent and expert of evildoers hide and strike from the shadows."
All the students listened intently at the pro hero's words, Frisk, for her part was absorbing everything he said like a blue and purple sponge, her shut eyes in amazement. It was like he heroically walked right out of a comic book.
Chara on the other hand covered her face while shaking it slowly. "It's like he walked right out of a goddamn comic book."
"I know right? He's really good at hiding that big wound of his," Frisk replied.
The sisters impromptu conversation was cut short when All Might continued his speech. "for this training exercise, you will be split into teams of two, Good Guys and Bad Guys, and fight two on two indoor battles!"
A moment pasted to let everything set in before a flurry of questions was hurled at the poor man.
"Isn't this too advanced?"
"Will you be deciding who wins, sir?"
"how much can we hurt the other team?"
"Do we need to worry about being expelled if we lose?"
"Will you be paring us up on chance or comparative skill?"
"Doesn't my cape look magnifique?"
Chara, ever the evil one, chucked at the hero's nervous sweating as he was bombarded by questions from the students. She was reminded of that one time when Frisk kept asking Asgore a bunch of questions she read out of a pun book.
Poor goat-man looked so scarred.
"Whoa, whoa now! There's only one of me around!" All Might pleaded while waving his hands. The class quieted down before he continued, clearing his throat. "Now to answer your questions in order: it should be manageable, yes, no going overboard, no, we'll be getting into that, ABSOLUTLY!" The last answer got a thumbs up and a tooth shine, much to the asker's joy.
It was then the hero seemed to hesitate before pulling out a handful of note cards.
"Listen up!" the hero began, reading off of the note cards "For training today you will all be faced with a common scenario that you will meet in the field. The Villains have kidnapped a civilian and have taken them to their hideout. The Heroes must rescue the hostage. For the hero team to succeed they must catch all the villains or free the hostage. Likewise, the villain team wins if they capture all the heroes or until the timer runs out."
"Is he seriously reading a damn script off a bunch of note cards? He's a teacher here right?" Chara asked.
"Now I want to make this clear. Remember this is a simulated hostage crisis so it is the goal of both parties to ensure the hostage isn't harmed in any way. For heroes it should be obvious why as for the villains, think of it as your ransomed demands still haven't been met so you need to keep your hostage safe."
A few hands were raised after the hero's instructions, among them the ponytailed girl spoke. "All Might-sensei, isn't a hostage situation a little too advanced for a beginner class? Wouldn't it be better if we started with something else?"
It seemed that some of the other students shared the same concerns as her because their hands fell and some nodded in agreement.
"I'm glad you asked young Yaoyorozo. You see it's the funniest thing, originally I had planned for the situation to revolve around a mock nuclear weapon but a student in the Support Department had found the dummy bomb and well…" All Might scratched the back of his neck bashfully, "They turned it into an actual bomb so we had to get rid of it. Unfortunately we didn't have any replacements at the time so I had to change things up for today."
The class remained silent as they let that information sink in.
Frisk, on the other hand, pondered what kind of person would have done that. If anything it sounded like something Papyrus would do by accident.
Chara's spectral hand slapped against her face, "Oh my God this world is filled with bigger lunatics than ours."
Mina was the next to raise her hand and ask a question. "All Might-sensei, whose going to be the hostage? Is it a doll or something?"
"Well no, actually. The hostage that needs saving today will actually be young Frisk!" The class looked at the hero in shock and then at the little girl who was now standing by All Might and waving her hand very fast. "She volunteered!"
The reactions were…to be expected.
"Sir, you can't possibly consider having Frisk play such a dangerous role!?"
"B-but won't she get hurt?"
"I don't see this as a good idea."
"I can see it."
All eyes turned to Tsuyu in surprise.
"What do you mean you can see it?!" a shocked Izuku asked.
The frog girl turned to the greenet and gave her explanation. "Well it's simply because she's living with Bakugo, and if we're being honest with each other if she can live with him then she should be fine here, kero."
There was silence for a moment as everyone processed the information with the exception of Izuku who was mumbling to himself in an attempt to rationalize that statement.
…
Mina was the first to pipe up. "Ya know, that makes a lot of sense."
"WHAT DOES THAT MEAN, PINKY!?"
"Anyway!" the hero resumed, interrupting everyone's thoughts, "To decide on teams, we will be drawing lots!" All Might held out a yellow box with the word "Lots" painted on the front. He went around the class holding out the box for everyone to take a slip of paper and when everyone had one he stood between two more boxes.
The slips of paper the students had determined who was with who and soon everyone had a partner.
With everyone teamed up the heroic teacher reached into the boxes he was standing between and with both hands pulled out two labeled spheres showing what team was going to fight as the Villians and Heroes.
And once the fights were chosen everyone was ushered into an observation room while the first two teams went to the training building.
Katsuki & Iida vs. Izuku & Uraraka.
Frisk went ahead and got herself tied up so she could be used as a hostage.
-XXXX-
At this point he had long since gotten use to the living embodiment of weirdness that was Frisk.
Katsuki looked at the diminutive child that had somehow tied herself up tightly in a chair. And not the just a few pieces of string on your wrists and ankles, but a piece of rope that wrapped around the girl's entire body, including her arms, securing her to the back of the wooden chair with the knot behind her.
Katsuki just stared at her and she stared back.
That extra, Iida, that was his partner was having a hard time trying figure out how she ended up like that and was failing.
Best leave it there and never question it. That's what the Bakugo household had to do and so would the entire class.
"I…am having trouble understanding how you did this Frisk-san," the extra asked.
"Shut up, you extra. That doesn't matter! What matters is that I'm going to go down there and ambush Deku and you're going to stay here and defend her!" The explosive teen pointed at Frisk who was waiting patiently.
"Wha-wait! Are you just going to fight them on your own? I would be more efficient if we-"
"I said shut up! I can deal with Deku on my own, you just need to stay out of my way!"
"Katsuki that's not nice."
"You be quiet!" he was not in the mood to deal with her today, "I'm going to cut them off."
And with that he left his teammate with the little gremlin an made his way down to the first floor. Deku and his girlfriend will probably try and go in quietly so he figured that he should stop them right at the entrance.
Stupid Deku, hiding his quirk all this time looking down on him like he was some hot shit. Oh Katsuki was going to prove that he was stronger than him, better than him in every way by beating him at this stupid hostage exercise.
Oh yeah, how could he forget.
He still couldn't believe that the principle just let Frisk stay at U.A. like it was some kind of daycare.
It should be clear, however, Katsuki wasn't worried about Frisk's safety at all, he knew she could take care of herself and was strangely independent for someone her age. Nope, he defiantly wasn't worried about her, not one bit. It's just that he had to claw his way through school and prove that he was the best to be accepted into U.A. and she just gets a free pass.
To say that he was pissed off was putting it mildly.
"Five minutes are up! Heroes, the timer starts now!"
Wait, was he forgetting something?
-XXXX-
If she was being honest, Uraraka was nervous.
This was the first time in her life that she would be getting into a fight. A training exercise sure, but a fight none the less. And worse still was the fact that she and Izuku/Deku were up against Bakugo and Iida.
Iida seemed a nice enough guy, if a bit socially obtuse, but Bakugo was aggressive and seemed a little too excited for combat training. What made it even worse was the obvious issue he had with Deku who, by Uraraka's understanding, hadn't done anything to warrant such anger in the blonde.
Heck, their plan basically consisted of Izuku fighting Bakugo for the entire match to keep him occupied while she went for the hostage.
And that was another thing.
She couldn't wrap her head around how on Earth Frisk could put up with the explosive blonde and NOT be his sibling as he so loudly kept claiming. Granted they didn't look anything alike, but in the era of Quirks things like that were negligible.
If she was being honest she worried that the little girl would start to pick up on Bakugo's aggressive behavior.
(The image of a sharp toothed Frisk dressed as Bakugo's hero costume popped in her head. A terrifying image, truly.)
She couldn't do that, she was way too cute to end up like him!
It was that determination to preserve Frisk's cuteness from Bakugo's influence that lit a fire in her belly to win at this training exercise! It served as good motivation.
"Alright, get ready. Bakugo's probably looking for us so we have to be careful. You remember the plan right?" Deku asked, voice steely and serious.
The gravity girl nodded.
The two crept forward in the narrow halls of the building both with their ears open to any noise they might be able to pick up. The two students turned the corner eyes still ahead, waiting for anything. It was just a moment latter that Izuku suddenly grabbed Uraraka's arm and shouted, "Look out!" They jumped back as the left hand wall exploded outward. Uraraka stumbled back and waved away the dust and derby in her face.
"You okay?" Izuku called to her, his mask half gone.
"Yeah I'm fine," she said.
"Come on Deku, don't dodge." Bakugo called out.
She looked up to see Bakugo standing in front of them very intimidating in his costume.
Izuku stood up. "I figured you'd go for me first."
Uraraka got off the floor and stood behind her partner eyeing their opponent warily. Then Bakugo charged them with incredible speed shouting at Izuku and drawing his right arm back for a punch.
But before he could even throw it the greenet suddenly went in with a grapple and threw the blonde over his shoulder. Bakugo slammed into the ground with a loud thud, knocking the wind out of him. He was now in between Uraraka and Deku.
"You always go in with a right swing first," Izuku said, "I know because I've watched you for years. Every punch, every explosion, I didn't just take it, I learned!"
Uraraka couldn't' see his face but she was sure he was absolutely livid judging by his heavy breathing and hunched posture. "Even though you're scared …" the explosive blonde muttered, "That's what I hate about you!" And before she knew it Bakugo launched himself at Deku with the fury of a raging bull.
"Uraraka, go!" her partner yelled before blocking a leg heading straight for his face.
The gravity girl ran as fast as she could to get out of the soon to be exclusion zone and booked it down the hall in search for the hostage. She hoped Deku knew what he was doing, because Bakugo didn't pull any punches.
As she ran around looking for Frisk she could hear explosions echo off the walls where ever she went. Even as she climbed up the stairs to the next level of the building she could still feel the tremors. Eventually, however, Uraraka did manage to find the right room on the top floor where Frisk was being held. Only she didn't find Frisk, but Iida looking around everywhere seemingly in a panic.
Hiding behind a pillar in the room she listened in on the speedster.
"How could she move around like that!? My evil plan is in jeopardy if my hostage reaches the Heroes-THERE YOU ARE!"
Curiosity over took Uraraka and she risked looking around the pillar to see Iida pointing dramatically at a well tied up Frisk in a chair.
"I don't know how you managed to move from the third floor to the top, but know that you've only hindered your so called saviors!"
He was…he was really playing into his role wasn't he.
The burnet was having trouble holding back her laughter.
He continued, "My accomplice, Bakugo, told me all about your ability to evade capture so your tricks end here." Uraraka could not believe how much Iida playing into his role. "Know that your Heroes are never going to reach you in time, no matter how much you cry for help. Muhahaha-"
"But I'm not," Frisk interrupted.
That took the wind right out of his sails as he realized she wasn't. "W-well, even if you did they still wouldn't be able to save you!"
"But there's one over there."
Uraraka quickly ducked behind her pillar and clamped her hands over her mouth.
"Wha-no there isn't."
"Yes there is."
Uraraka heard the metallic stomping of Iida's metal boots coming closer and quickly ducked to the other side of the pillar and snuck over to the next one.
The stomping stopped and then Iida spoke again.
"There isn't anyone here," he declared.
"Well there was," Frisk pouted.
"There was not."
"Was too."
"Was not."
"Was too."
The two kept on like this with Iida growing more and more irritated as it went along. Uraraka, meanwhile, was slowly making her way closer to Frisk while hiding behind the pillars. It was of course incredibly difficult to keep a straight face when Iida was having a childish argument with an literal eight year old.
"Wait," Iida said suddenly, "I know what you're trying to do to me."
He turned his back to Frisk and placed his hands on his hips while shaking his head seemingly almost amused. An aura of villainy surrounded him as he began to laugh (like a Villain). If you squinted you could almost see "menacing" kanji floating around the armored speedster.
"Yes, I see. You think you can distract me for when your Heroes arrive, but know this I won't fall for your petty tricks again! You have no hope to escape! HAHAHAHAHA-"
Uraraka couldn't take it anymore, this was just too ridiculous. Her cheeks puffed as she let out a staggered laugh that echoed through the chamber they were all in. She quickly slapped her hands over her mouth once she realized what she had done.
There was a pregnant pause in the room as no one said or did anything.
Then Frisk said, "Told you."
Iida was the first to react and quickly ran to Frisk's chair and dragged her away from the row of pillars that Uraraka was hiding behind.
"Muhahaha! So you finally arrived Hero! Don't think you can stop me!" The speedster proclaimed, "You gave away your element of surprise!"
Seeing as she had exposed herself, Uraraka stepped out from behind the pillar to face Iida. She was nervous to say the least, but she had to keep her opponent busy until Deku could play his part of the plan.
Her eyes scanned the room while Iida monologued about something related to Bakugo and to her disappointment there wasn't a lot for her to use her quirk on. Bits of debris and random pieces of left over building material were laid about everywhere so maybe she could use those? How about that pipe.
And in a sudden flash of silver the pipe the Hero was eyeing up vanished. She quickly tracked where the silver streak went and saw Iida throw the pipe and a few other items out a window.
"Don't thing I didn't see you looking for something to use your Quirk on in here! You'll never be fast enough to get to anything, HAHAHAHA!" Iida declared with a haughty laugh.
"Crap, I took my eyes of Iida for too long!" Uraraka panicked in her head.
It was then that the speedster began to run around the room systematically clearing it of any small, floatable objects that Uraraka could potentially use. So in a desperate move she ran straight to Frisk while Iida was distracted, only to be batted away by said armor wearing speedster sending her to the ground.
He then laughed maliciously, even putting a hand flat under his chin while doing so. "HAHAHAHA! Don't think it will be that easy! HAHAHA-"
Uraraka, still on the floor, pointed to his hand and said, "Um, that's an evil lady pose."
"AHAH-Eh!?"
He looked down at himself and sure enough a hand under his chin and the other firmly on his hip did look quite feminine despite his armor.
He took a minute to possess his stance before immediately going ridged.
He began depressed murmuring to himself, "H-How could I not have noticed!? I've broken my role as a MALE Villain of this story!"
As Iida flushed over his appearance the entire building suddenly shook violently as an ear piercing explosion bellowed from the lower floors. Both heroes in training managed to stabilize themselves while poor Frisk was nearly toppled over in her chair.
Iida, having collected himself, immediately called to his partner in fake crime.
"Bakugo!" he called using his ear piece, "What was that explosion, what's going on down there!?"
While her opponent was distracted, Uraraka ran for Frisk again, this time planning to utilize her Quirk.
"I just need to get to Frisk and we'll win!" she chanted to herself, determination clear on her face.
Iida, noticing Uraraka on the move again, ran to intercept the hero only to be dodged by her as she sued her Quirk on herself and leapt into the air with the help of her new boots right over the armored teen. She reached for Frisk, who now had a sign in one of her bound hands (where did she get that?) that read "save me please :)" only to once again be foiled by Iida who boosted himself forward with his own Quirk and moved Frisk away.
Having lost her target, poor Uraraka lost control of her dissent and tumbled into a wall upside down. The "Villain" stood opposite of her a ways away in front of Frisk, who's sign now said "uh oh :(".
"Your Quirk is no threat if you can't touch anything!" Iida taunted slipping into his persona again, "I just need to hold you at bay until the timer runs out."
Uraraka grit her teeth as she corrected her equilibrium and stared hard at her opponent. Her partner was doing his hardest against Bakugo so she needed to do her hardest herself.
It was then she received a transmission form Izuku on her ear piece.
"Uraraka, are you alright?" he asked.
She responded immediately, "Deku! Are you alright, what's going on down there?"
"Never mind that, listen I need to tell me where you are exactly."
She was caught off guard by that question, but answered anyway, "I'm on the top floor at the left side I think. There a bunch of pillars in here."
"Okay. Where's Frisk?"
She looked over at Iida in front of Frisk, he was still watching her but he seemed to be distracted by something on his own ear piece.
"She's just ahead of me, but Iida's not letting me get close."
There was a pause and some muttering before Izuku responded. "I got an idea, but it's pretty risky. Listen I need you to stay by the pillars on your side by the windows and on my mark hold on to one tight!"
He sounded determined so she nodded her head absentmindedly. "Got it. Over and out."
With that he went silent and soon after she could hear more explosions from below, thankfully not as loud as before. Uraraka trusted Izuku that he knew what he was doing she just needed to keep Iida stare down Iida for the time being.
"What's wrong hero? Have you figured out that your efforts here are futile?"
She didn't say anything and just continued to stare at Iida.
It was a Mexican stand off as both of them looked ready to move at any moment. Eyes locked tightly on each other. Uraraka opposite to Iida who stood between her and Frisk, who was now wearing a sombrero and a fake mustac- ok where was she getting this stuff?!
It was at that moment Izuku's com went live.
"Let's go Uraraka!"
She immediately hugged the pillar closest to her and held on tight, confusing Iida.
It was then the floor between them exploded.
In a mightily wave of wind and debris a round hole opened up in the floor sending pieces of concrete everywhere and uprooting the pillar that Uraraka was holding onto . It was at this moment she made her move.
Now holding the detached pillar in her hands, the gravity heroine applied her Quirk to her new weapon and gave a hard swing.
"Improvised special move…!"
Right at the scattered bits of concrete in front of her.
"Comet Home Run!"
The small pieces of floor shot forward at Iida like a shotgun forcing him to block them with his arms. Then Uraraka let go of her pillar and jumped to Frisk, who had bent sent into the air by the air pressure, arms wide to catch the little girl. When she was right there in front of the young girl, Frisk burst out of her constraints and wrapped her small arms and legs around her savior with a little squeak, much to the "Villiain's" horror.
"Yay!" she cheered.
It was then All Might called the match.
"THE HOSTAGE HAS BEEN RETIVED! HE-HERO TEAM WINS!"
-XXXX-
He was fading out of consciousness laying on his side. Pain wracked his entire body from exhaustion and wounds.
He did it again.
He broke his arm.
But hopefully his plan worked and Uraraka was able to get Frisk.
He wasn't sure, because he couldn't hear anything.
His vision faded more and more as he quickly entered the realm of sleep. Yeah, that felt good right now. But as he was fading he saw a small pair of brown shoes enter his vision.
And then her heard a voice.
"You and I," it said with perfect clarity, "are going to have so much fun together."
He didn't know how, but he could see a face smiling at him.
It was…
…
…familiar.
Dead at night
Breaks into room
Throws this shit at ya
Crawls back into shame hole
...
In all seriousness, yes the fabled chapter 8 is here, after nearly an entire year.
Just had a lot of stuff come up at once with a mix of writers block again, so yeah.
So anyway I hope this chapter was somewhat decent and I hope you enjoyed it.
Remember, your thoughts of the story and all of you asking me to get off my lazy ass and write this shit fuels my corporeal essence.
Not joking I like hearing form you guys.
!AND!
as a bonus for taking so long here's a segment I couldn't fit anywhere in the chapter. Enjoy.
Omake
Bakugo taunted that worthless Deku as he chased him down the halls. His prey was slippery he'd give him that, but no amount of running would save him.
"Run all you want, Deku! You can't escape me-"
And like that Katsuki stopped mid stride losing all momentum in an instant. His face frozen in his previous fury and upcoming fear.
Shit! That's what he forgot!
Quickly the explosive blonde activated his coms.
"Hey, 4-eyes!"
His partner/that extra was quick to respond.
"Yes, Bakugo what is it? I was in the middle of a critical clean up."
"Where's that brat?!"
"What?"
"WHERE'S FRISK!? Like where is she right now?!"
"Well she's right he-wha! Where'd she go?!"
Double shit, she's loose!
"Find her! She'd probably headed to Deku right now!"
"But how?! She was tied up! It would be impossible for her to-"
"Just find her!"
With that Katsuki ran forward faster than ever. Now he really needed to catch Deku before Frisk accidently finds him and somehow levels the entire building.
"RAAAAAGH!"
How could he have forgotten that she couldn't be tied down!
