4. Chapter 4

"I LOVE YOU!"

What had started as an argument over bread had escalated to enormous proportions. Percy felt breathless, disjointed, swimming in his love for her and his frustrations at how she could be so dense.

"I LOVE YOU TOO YOU NIMROD!"

"NO YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND!" He shook his head. "I LOVE YOU!"

"NO YOU DON'T GET IT! I LOVE YOU TOO!" She threw her hands to her side. "I love you, you stupid Seaweed Brain!"

"You love me?" Percy deflated. Feeling stars. "Why didn't you say anything?"

"I did. You just acted like it didn't matter."

It was him. He was the one who didn't understand. He was the idiot. Blankly, he tugged her into a kiss.
