The Mad Queen's Army.
Morgan's army made her way towards the village, dark and silver armors with her symbol on the chest, the steps of the horses echoed in the lonely night. They saw that the torches were put out, and decided to send a small party to investigate while the others stayed behind.
5 soldiers entered, looking in every house for the villagers and their tribute, but they found no one there. That was, until one of the soldiers found a small figure in the corner of a house, in fetal position.
"Hey, you, where are the rest of them?" - the knight asked as he got close to the figure - "Answer, now!" -
He grabbed it by the shoulder and turned it around, only for it to disappear with a single touch, like nothing more than a ghost.
Before the soldier could even turn around, a sword stabbed right through his chest, not allowing him even a scream for help as he fell to the ground, dead.
"I'll have to thank Proto Merlin, her illusions do wonders for this" - Artus said as he cleaned his sword from the blood before hiding again. He knew that as soon as they realized one of their own was missing, they would go back and look for him.
Just as he predicted, it happened. The soldiers returned with their commander, noticing how one of them didn't arrive, and 2 more were sent to look for him. Everything was going according to plan.
From the top of a house, Enyd and Proto Merlin looked at the soldiers going back inside.
"I know you said you're weak right now, but you think you can mess with them?" - Enyd asked as she held her weapon in hand.
"Sure, anything to help Ritsuka's sons. Maybe that way he'll want to give me a thank you gift and…" -
She couldn't finish speaking, Enyd bonked her on the head with her fist.
"That's my dad you're talking about" -
"Fine, fine. Are you really going to face all of them outside by yourself?" -
"I wanted to, but you heard Artus. We're going to lure half of them in, I'll handle the other half. You? Enjoy the show" -
"I like that plan girl" -
Inside the house, Artus watched as the two Knights started to walk back in again, calling out for their ally. As they got close to the house, he held his hands together, closed his eyes, and whispered something to himself.
"By the blessings and curses of our land, Britain. Bring forth the winter storm that holds the grudge of our bloodline" -
A curse that Artus and Caeli, as the eldest of the Le Fay siblings, were taught by their mother Morgan, based on one of her own skills, Beyond the Furthest Ends. A vortex of curses appeared from within the house and started to expand, giving away that there was someone left inside.
The commander ordered more of his soldiers to protect themselves against the curses and go to find and kill whoever was causing that, leaving Enyd the perfect chance to act.
"My turn" - she said with a smile on her face as the soldiers divided, half of them outside the village while the other half went to fight Artus - "My field fight, let's do this" -
"Good luck" - Proto Merlin said while waving her staff and cheering.
Igniting her ax in flames, she jumped and landed in front of the commander and his remaining soldiers, burning the place and surrounding them in a circle of flames, stopping any of them from leaving, or any of the others from helping.
She didn't say a word, and as two of the soldiers rushed her, she swung her double bladed ax at them, the strength of it cut the two clean in half, as the rest prepared their attack, yet their commander stopped them.
"You're one of those that threatens the rule of the benevolent Queen Morgan, you must atone for your crimes" -
"I only know one Morgan, and I can 100% assure that she'd be a much better queen than whoever's on the throne right now" -
As she said this, Enyd took a closer look at her enemy's weapon, a pair of black and blue swords. With a single look at the weapons, she could tell those were cursed, avoiding damage would be the best.
The commander made the first move, a quick and direct slash that the girl dodged without much issue, before filling her ax with fire and slashing. Despite missing, the attack ignited a huge explosion in front of her, knocking the commander back.
Before he got a chance to get back up, she slashed at him again using her axe. He rolled to dodge the attack, yet he couldn't save his left arm from being sliced by Enyd's weapon.
After the explosion dissipated, there the girl stood with her ax on her shoulder and smiling - "You talked too much, I thought it was going to be at least interesting" -
The other soldiers rushed to protect their commander and attack the invader, yet it was an attempt of little merith. In a matter of seconds, Enyd killed every single one of them without suffering a single hit. Only the commander was left, already badly hurt.
He charged with his cursed sword against her and clashed with her ax, followed by quick stabs with the intent of breaking the girl's guard and allowing him to go in for a kill.
This, however, wouldn't happen. After the third stab, she dodged the fourth with ease before slashing him across the back and kicking him to the ground.
"As I expected, seems like the tough ones are going to be that Round Table that this Morgan set up, you're barely even a challenge" - she said as the flames around her disappeared, as there was no need for them now.
"Done with my part" - Artus said as he came from behind with Proto Merlin by his side.
"Great job kids, you all did great" - she congratulated them.
"Thanks, although against them? It was going to be easy" - she answered before turning back to look at the commander - "Any last words?" -
"Long… Live… Queen Morgan…" -
None of the 3 said anything. Enyd simply raised her ax and slammed it directly against the commander's head, cutting it clean in half.
"See? They were going to be easy, I told you" - Enyd said as she made her weapon disappear.
"You're… You're right, for all the fear that they supposedly cause the regular population, they were barely a problem" - Artus answered.
"Their biggest strength lies in their numbers, as there's plenty of them running around this lands" - Proto Merlin answered - "But for real power, you go to the 4 Great Legions" -
"Let me guess, they're the Round Table's General's personal army?" -
"I think you met one already, the Army of Beasts. The other 3 don't show themselves a lot away from Inner Camelot, the Army of Beasts is the only one that can be consistently seen in Outer Camelot" - Proto explained while twirling her hair - "And if you're being hunted by them, all I have to say is… Good luck" -
"Outer Camelot? Inner Camelot? What?" - Enyd asked.
"There's a division between the two parts of Camelot, shown by Twin Lance Mountains. The region we're on is Outer Camelot, while past the mountains is Inner Camelot" -
"Oh… Yeah that makes" -
"Well, guess we can't stay here for long like we expected. Do you want to come with us Proto Merlin?" -
"I appreciate the offer, Artus, but I'll decline. I have my own plans here and it's best I do them alone. Although I can feel that our paths will surely meet again" -
"Fine by us, then we'll be going. See ya!" -
Enyd and Artus then left the dead and burning corpses of Morgan's soldiers as Proto Merlin returned to the village, as she whispered to herself.
"That's 2, now I'll check out on the youngest" -
She disappeared in a storm of flowers.
