Devotions

Devotions

I find a quiet place

And I close my eyes

I block any thoughts of the world

And I emerse myself in your word

Your presence wraps around me

And I find comfort in your strength

I reflect upon my day

On the good

And the bad

I see that you were with me

Guiding me

Steering me clear from evil

And the things that went wrong

That was my fault

For I didn't listen to your voice

That silent, strong, loving voice

And I pray that tomorrow

I will do better

I will be open to your voice

Your Word, your wisdom

But for now,

I will draw close to you

Let your presence fill me

Fill me to overflowing

I relish this time

Spent in your Word

In your presence

You are all I ask for

I love you Lord.

This is a poem I wrote last night while doing my nightly devotions. I almost didn't post it, but I thought maybe it would be inspiring to others, that maybe you will be challenged to do daily devotions. I know that it has helped me, since I started, to reflect on my day and what God has done. It puts me in a different mindset, and helps my week to go a little more smoothly. Please tell me what you think; though I doubt I'll change anything. This is just my personal feelings and thoughts, the last thing I want to do is change it to fit around what others want, because really, it's just between me and God. But please let me know what you think.
