Violet felt majorly better the next day. While the memorial was alway taxing and the days leading up to it, the morning after always felt like a relief and when she arrived in the kitchen after fixing the new, occasional damage to some of the furniture, she was actually humming the lyrics of the softly playing radio while bantering with Sirius.

"No Siri, That you were the first one to gift dungbombs to Peeves isn't proof that you are a genius."

"I'm just saying."

"And it doesn't compare with shipping a toilet seat home." She argued, while placing the heated food from Molly on the table, just waving at the incoming arcos to sit down.

"But purple, the toilet seat is overdone."

"It's a classic and don't underestimate how much it takes to maneuver around Minerva for that. You have no clue how proud I was of Teddy when he managed it in his first week."

"Yeah, remember when he painted the slytherin common room pink in his fourth year? I was the one to coach him for that. Don't I get credit for that?"

"You only gave him the charm."

"Nope, I taught him how to flirt with Parkinson's daughter as well."

"And in the end he used his metamorphmagus ability to get it and Victoire was pissed at him for a week."

"Great accomplishments demand sacrifices."

"Victoire is a dear she could do without that."

"You only say that because Victoire literally made you and Hermione her role model since she could waddle."

Violet shrugged, "I couldn't have wished for a better daughter in law."

"Yeah and you still make it difficult for me to achieve the same. You know Teddy told me all about his visit."

"And?"

"I don't want him no matter how much he follows Potter tradition, he isn't chaos enough" he wailed.

"And you won't get him and I assure you Reborn is vastly more chaotic than Fon."

"Fon destroyed the portrait."

"And Reborn would have made her kneel in front of him."

Sirius just grumbled a bit more but Violet ignored him in favor of sitting down.

Fon carefully mustered her "Violet? Are you okay?"

"Why wouldn't I?"

"Yesterday must have been taxing."

"So?"

"Shouldn't you be affected?"

"Yesterday was yesterday and it's over. So I'm going back to ignoring it until next year."

"That doesn't sound healthy."

"So? What's your point?"

"You should talk with us about it."

"To be honest I already told all of you way too much. I don't mind sharing some anecdotes especially while we're in diagon alley but otherwise? I'm done talking about it."

"You can trust us with it."

"I don't care. My past is my past and it will stay a secret. I offer you all the same courtesy and to be honest you all know more about me than I know about some of you all now. So just leave it be, okay?"

Fon just nodded, not intending to give up but letting it rest for the time being.

Breakfast was finished quite quickly and while everyone was off to get ready for the trip Violet waited in the kitchen. Sirius was off as well, having promised Victoire to help entertain the kids while she was in her shop.

The witch had already finished all of her morning rituals and was waiting in her robes, her chain in front of her on the table as she would use it when she morphed again for their trip.

She was actually a bit more worried about diagon alley, it was a vastly more uncontrolled situation and she wouldn't be able to micromanage them.

The war might have been over for decades but that didn't change that she still was an important figure in the wizarding world, even with her disappearance. Teddy and her friends often had to deal with reporters that still hadn't given up.

Sure the festivities that were held before the memorial were over but she still had to be cautious.

She could hear someone clearing her throat behind her and looked up, Reborn casually leaning in the door frame "Excited?"

"Shouldn't I ask you that? You get to see more of the wizarding world."

"And unlimited access to it."

"No, not really. Even if you know about it, it still has a lot of anti muggle charms. You will always need a witch or wizard to let you in."

"We will see about that."

She snorted "Sure."

"Cara? Lean back a bit for me, yes?"

Violet did as she was asked to, slightly confused as Reborn stepped behind her. "What are you trying?"

"Taming your hair."

"Why?"

"It stands up in all directions splendore." His hands were already starting to gently untangle her mess.

"It's not that bad."

"Did you even brush it?"

"What do you think?" she rolled her eyes.

"I think you haven't ever seen a brush in your life."

"No, I just killed so many."

"Tesoro leave the killing to me, yes? I think your pretty eyes don't have to witness something that barbaric."

"So you call yourself barbaric now?"

"Careful splendore" he slightly tugged at her hair, pulling her head back a bit and leaving him in clear sight of her slightly dilated pupils and the harsh intake of breath.

His smirk got a little wider as he watched the slight pink resurface. "Figured something out cara?"

Her tint deepened "I have no clue what you're talking about."

"Oh I'm sure you do." he proceeded his entangle work, but kept a slight tug on it, just listening to her slightly more rapid breathing.

Her mouth opened repeatedly while her wit tried to collect itself. "At least I am not standing in front of the mirror for hours every morning, curling sideburns."

He tugged her back way more harshly, her gasp filling him with desire as he leaned over her, capturing her eyes firmly "They are natural."

"Sure, if that helps you sleep at night." she answered breathlessly.

"SInce when did you get so mouthy? Where has my good girl gone? Did you leave it behind when you watched me sleep?"

"I was never your good girl."

"But you could be."

"And why would I want to?"

One of his hands was still in her hair as he turned her chair around to face her and settled his free hand on the leaning "I could give you many reasons for that."

"And I guess all of them sexual?"

Her breathing was still rapid and her eyes darted around, unsure where to look until he tugged her hair again, making her head lean back slightly as he caught her eyes "No splendore. I could give you so much more."

"And that would be?"

"Devotion, cara. My undying devotion." His thumb was caressing her as he leaned forwards, still capturing her eyes and a honesty shining through that left her breathless.

He leaned more forwards, his forehead against hers "And everything that comes with it. You would never wish for anything cara. Never even having to speak out a word for it. I can and will move the world for you."

"I don't… stop sweet talking me. I won't be your plaything Reborn." her lips almost trembling as her eyes searched for anything that would imply dishonesty.

"And you wouldn't be cara. I'm serious about you."

"When were you ever?"

"Violet, I'm not lying to you. I know my reputation and I know how our former relationship implies a certain image but I'm not lying to you."

She just turned her head away, pointedly looking at the floor "I don't believe you."

His free hand wandered towards her chin, lifting it up again "That's okay. I will make you believe me. Violet, I don't care how long it will take and what I will have to do to convince you. But there is nothing that can stop me from trying."

"Did anything ever stop you?"

"No." he said while slightly caressing her cheek, carefully studying her as she bit her lip.

He lifted himself up again, leaving a gentle kiss on her cheek before stepping around her again to finish her hair.

Actually just in time, before the rest of the arcobalenos made their way in again

Colonnello did stop for a second, just staring at the two of them "Are we disturbing something?"

Violet just shook her head silently as Reborn casually glanced at the rain. "Not really, we were just discussing how Violet's hair is a mess."

"It's not that bad." she jumped to her own defense, glad to have a distraction.

Colonnello snorted "I think Falco considered nesting in it."

"Leave my hair alone. I have the sexiest birdnest in the wizarding world."

"Self-absorbed? You might give Reborn a run for his money then."

"No, I actually got voted for that several times." a slight pout on her lips.

"Ah yes? Who did that?"

"Don't ask me, it stood in the paper."

He paused at that, looking quite disbelieving "The paper printed about your hair?"

"Yes and you all wondered why I don't read it."

"What paper would even consider publishing something like that?"

"Witch weekly I believe? You could ask Ron next time, he has it framed."

Lal who had watched the whole conversation with a raised eyebrow spoke out "Why did they even print about you?"

Violet did stop at that, just glancing at her nails "...I'm just filthy rich."

"Sure you are."

"You know what? I actually should stop at Gringotts today as well. I need to hide a pouch of money in Victoires belonging after all. She wouldn't take payment otherwise."

"Gringotts.. was your bank correct?"

"Yeah. It's a bit different to muggle banks though. Goblins operate it and we have vaults where we store our money instead of anything digital."

"Doesn't sound safe to me."

"Oh you have no clue at all. Gringotts was found in 1474 and only three break ups were recorded. The first two weren't even able to steal anything while being performed by dark wizards so strong are their protections"

"And the last one?"

"War Crime to be honest, they did manage to steal their object but even that was only possible with inside help. Trust me when I tell you there is no saver way to store money."

her lips twitched suspiciously but she didn't comment on it.

"Violet? How are we gonna get to Diagon alley?"

"Bus." and this time she couldn't stop the chuckle from escaping, they had no clue what would await them.
