The first month with the twins was zombieland. Darcy didn't sleep, neither did Lizzy. Together they made a forlorn sight. The world and their waking hours revolved around the twins.
James returned to his grandparents' place.
Lizzy went back on the pill as soon as feasible but they didn't have sex for several months. With two screaming babies, their sex drives had gone AWOL.
Lizzy felt like a cow and her nipples now belonged to the twins. Darcy's conjugal rights abruptly ended with their arrival.
Darcy hired a day nurse and a night nurse for the first few months and their lives started returning to a natural rhythm, albeit with two extra creatures in their lives.
Darcy wanked occasionally but it didn't feel the same. It was only when in a moment of quiet solitude that Lizzy noticed he was horny but he didn't do anything with it. So she decided to initiate intimate relations with him again. He was a bit cautious. After seeing her body go through what it did to pop out their babies, he wondered if she had sufficiently recovered.
She had, but there was no more talk about having babies again. For several years.
They made tender love sweetly in their first post-baby coupling. Exploring each other again tentatively and slowly.

The godparents were Al, Charles, Jane and Charlotte.

The new home became their permanent home in Sydney instead of Hunters Hill. It was more convenient with its proximity to the school and John and Fanny.
Darcy and Lizzy had a twin each in a papoose carrier when they'd watch James's games. And as they all grew up, James loved his new siblings though he acted more like a bossy third parent than an older brother.
After graduating from high school, James went to Columbia for uni as he showed some interest in the NY side of the Darcy business.

Georgie and Wayne went backpacking around South America for a year which turned into two years after they spent six months at the pampas and Patagonia.
Like Darcy said, they were two kindred spirits pinballing around from one place to another. They did fly back for the christening of the twins where Georgie and Wayne turned up boho style.
They eventually returned to Penida where they eventually settled in an eventual roundabout way. Wayne thought they were in a relationship, and Georgie thought it must be a relationship by default because they hung around each other so much.
But they were still not sure about the nature of their relationship so they just kept hanging around at Georgie's bungalow, away from his extended family members.
When Wayne's aunt - Georgie found out she was the Balinese who approached her at the cave and asked if she was Wayne's princess - started pressuring them to formalise it, Georgie baulked because she was never going to undertake a formal Balinese wedding ceremony. She'd attended them and they scared the bejeezus out of her.
So the introverted Georgie called Bruce and they flew to Byron immediately and stayed there until after the storm passed. Wayne's mother was also a marriage celebrant so if they found it necessary, she could just formalise them.
Georgie wasn't in a hurry, neither was Wayne. They were aimless about life except that they enjoyed each other's company.

Charles and Jane had another baby a year after the Darcy twins were born, this time a girl: Charlotte Jane Bingley.
Fanny was so pleased with her growing brood of grandchildren. She had so wanted granddaughters and she finally had two of them!
Her shopping budget nearly bankrupted John so he had to restrain herself occasionally.
The younger Bennet girls eventually coupled up. Mary and Kate found suitable men who complemented their values and temperament. Mary shacked up with a fellow librarian while Kate hooked up with a tradie.
Lydia went to London to stay at the Gardiner Kellys and Al found her a job in his industry where she worked on set design.
Lydia was good at her craft and she made the frequent trans-Atlantic travel between Broadway and the West End. She eventually met a Frenchman and she moved down to Provence to be with him. They lived the French Riviera lifestyle between Aix and Menton. Apparently, he was a distant relative of her Aunt Maddy.
Al finally found the love of his life - a Kiwi living in London. They returned to Sydney after a few years and they'd do the trans-Tasman travel between Sydney and Queenstown.

Darcy eventually took his family to Pemberley during the northern summer and during the southern winter break.
He had big plans for the twins but didn't want to enrage Lizzy with them. He thought whichever twin showed an interest in Pemberley would be the one to inherit the pile. The other one could have the London townhouse, the Queensferry place and the other Darcy places on that island including one in the Hebrides.
Looking at his babies, he thought it was too soon to burden them with inheritance issues. But he had plans and was constantly planning...
Lizzy eventually returned to work and she was satisfied that Darcy was not going to die on her. Darcy was finally secure that Lizzy wasn't going to leave him.
And they all lived happily ever after, in Sydney or in Byron Bay or Anna Bay or in whatever Southern Hemisphere place they were ensconced. Life was good - as long as they were together.
