Sinking Fast-Ch 16
Mark looked at Marcie and then glanced at his watch, Ricardo sat against the wall watching, he wasn't concerned that it was taking so long, the only thing he could think of was that soon everything that Mark owned, everything Mark loved and coveted would soon be his, especially Marcie.
Marcie kept punching things into the keyboard, she had to at least act like she was trying to make everything continue on for Ricardo, after all, she had to stall. Penelope watched her friends as they worked punching in command after command, she herself had to make sure that things took their own sweet time as Derek and the team were getting ready.
When the teams were all set and ready Hotch said, "how are things looking Penelope"?, she said, "Marcie is definitely doing her part, she is stalling for everything she's worth". Hotch said, "alright Garcia, when you're ready count us down from five" and Penelope took a deep breath and said, "5, 4, 3" all the time keeping an eye on the screens for Ricardos men.
She then continued by saying, "2, 1, go, go" and the teams made entry into the room from both sides and Ricardo and his men didn't know what hit them. Mark and Marcie turned to see Derek and smiled, Mark said, "Derek my man, thank God" and Derek smiled and said, "are you two okay"?, Mark wrapped his arm around his wife and said, "we are now".
Penelope watched as Ricardo tried to slip out, she said, "Derek, Ricardo is trying to make a break for it", Derek turned his gun on Ricardo and said, "ohhhh I wish you would, I really wish you would". Ricardo stopped and raised his hands and said, "how are you even alive"?, Derek said, "God was watching out for us"?, the goon that had tried to rape Penelope said, "us, wait does that mean that Penelope is still alive too"?, Derek said, "ohhhh yes, yes she is".
Ricardo and his men listened as Derek said, "Penelope is the brains behind this operation, she's handling the computers so that you could get where we wanted you to go". Ricardo looked at Derek and then said, "how did you know what we were going to do"?, Derek smiled and then said, "that's easy, somehow Marcie was able to get hold of a burner phone and she sent a message to both Penelope and the head of security letting them know what was going on".
It was then that Ricardo looked at Marcie and said, "the only time that we weren't together was when the two of you went to bed last night but you were guarded the entire night". Marcie said, "we have burner phones all over the place hidden for just such emergencies" and Mark grinned and said, "and thank God that we did and that Derek and Penelope are both safe".
Hotch smiled and watched the faces of Ricardo and his men as Reid started reading them all their rights as Dave, Emily and JJ along with the security forces started leading Ricardo and his men out of the room and down the hall where they met up with the local police.
Derek walked over to Mark and said, "are you sure that the two of you are alright"?, Mark said "yeah, yeah we're sure, we're fine, are you and Penelope sure that you're okay"?, Derek said, "here ask her yourself" as he took out the ear piece and handed it to Mark.
Mark put the earpiece into his ear and said, "Penelope are you alright"?, she laughed and said, "yep, I'm fine, are you and Marcie okay"?, he sighed happily and said, "we're fine, we're fine". Marcie leaned in and said, "thank you Penelope, thank you for everything that you did for us" and Penelope said, "no, it's us that should thank you, if you hadn't sent me that message we wouldn't have had any idea what was going on here today".
Marcie smiled as Mark relayed everything that Penelope had said to her, Marcie sighed and said, "I never gave up hope that you and Derek were alive, never ever". Mark smiled as he heard Penelope say, "and I'm so glad that you and Mark are alright, I was so worried about what they were going to do to the two of you".
Mark said, "we did everything we could to stall, hoping and praying that you and Derek were alive and that you would get to us in time". Penelope said, "Derek and his team are the best of the best and that's for sure", Mark said, "I would have to agree with you there Penelope, most definitely the best of the best" as he stood holding his greatest treasure in his arms, his wife.
A few minutes later when everybody made it back to the security lab Penelope smiled as she hugged her best friend, she them hugged Mark and then last but not least Derek. Derek wrapped his arm around her waist and said, "good job sweetness, you did amazing" and she blushed and said, "it was you and your team that saved the day".
Hotch walked over to her and said, "Penelope what would you say if I asked you to join our team as our tech"?, she said, "wow, really"?, Hotch nodded his head ad said "yes really, you are the best tech I have ever seen and we need you and would love to have you work with us".
She looked at Derek and said, "I'm honored Hotch and I would love to work with you but isn't their a lot of things that I need to do first"?, Hotch grinned and said, "don't worry, I'll let you know everything that you need to do" and Penelope said, "well in that case, yes, I accept" and the air was filled with the shouts of congratulations as they welcomed the newest member of their team Penelope Grace Garcia.
