Ch.16: Five Families

Friday came by quickly. I gazed that afternoon as I relaxed on my bed at the outfit sitting on my bedroom doorknob- the same I had worn for the speed dating- save it being sandals instead of the shoes. This had been by insistence from Aria, who felt I would be too overdressed otherwise.

Ah, yes. Aria and I had texted a lot in those last few days. I amused her by informing her of Pinkie's antics, and she made me chuckle when she told me about some of Sonata's.

My thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door. "Hey Davey! Its Pinkie! Ya decent?"

I smiled. "Come on in."

Pinkie came on in. "What time are you meeting Aria?"

"Six. Why?" I asked, sitting up.

"Just wondering" she smirked. I raised an eyebrow as she skipped out of the room. Pinkie went to her room, shutting the door. Oddly enough, she shut the blinds too, as if they had cameras on them.

She grinned as Sunset answered her phone call.

"Operation Date is a go!"

Precisely around 5:45, I stood in front of the Dazzling's apartment. I was quite nervous. Sonata seemed like she would be silly, maybe, maybe a tad annoying. Adagio was the one that made me sweat internally.

How Mother Nature was not smiling at me in that scene, as Adagio opened the door. Her eyes indicated she had just awoken from a nap. "So, you're David huh?" she asked with a smirk.

I nodded. "I... think so?"

She giggled, crossing her arms, walking over to me, her eyes level with mine, as we were the same height. Her face then turned serious.

"I may not be evil anymore, but I still care about my sister. Hurt her, and I will kill you, and Sonata will pick the bones. Understand?"

I gulped and nodded meekly. Adagio returned to her smirk.

"Good" she said as a call brought her back inside. She looked over her shoulder, giving the "Come on in" gesture.

As I did, I would find the apartment to be nice. Lived in, really. The smell of pizza could be smelt from the kitchen, and homemade to boot. A bed was set up on the couch, the TV turned to cartoons. Sonata sat in a beanbag chairs, a smile on her face.

Adagio smiled. "She used to annoy me so much. Not anymore. I love her dearly. Hey Sonata, Aria's new boytoy is here!"

I blushed, about to protest as a door at the end of the hallway opened. Aria grinned, rolling her eyes. "Its ONE date, Adagio. Not an orgy!"

Adagio smirked. "Oh, those are stories" she giggled. Aria came in, smiling, wearing a simple set of summer wear- T-Short and shorts.

"Adagio didn't embarrass you, did she?" she said. I shook my head.

"Honestly, you all have been here a thousand years plus, right? Wouldn't shock me if you all had stories."

Sonata grinned. "Oh, there's plenty!"

As Sonata began to ramble, Aria said goodbye and we stepped out, seeing Sunset come out of her apartment down the way. She waved at us. We waved back, heading downstairs. Sunset grinned, covertly following us.

Step One: Checkmark.

The theatre was busy as we arrived. It turned out that the place was showing The Deer Hunter and Rear Window as well. Aria and I waited, a line ahead of us. This was no issue. The movie didn't start until seven.

"Pardon me" I said to Aria. "Does Sonata have some form of Autism?"

Aria thought and shook her head no. "Just a bad incident after we arrived here in Pandestria. She's fine, just has moments where I wanna shake her."

"And how are you guys with Sunset and them?" I asked.

"Good. Pinkie and Sonata are texting buddies. Adagio and Twilight get along well."

It was then that I heard the voice in my head once more.

"You should kiss her tonight."

"What's wrong?" Aria asked as I blushed.

Before I could respond, the line moved. Behind us were Sunset and Pinkie, disguised with mustaches.

Aria and I would each decide to get a soda and popcorn, along with some candy to share. Before long, we made our way to the theatre, and decided to sit in the center. Of course, we had no clue Pinkie and Sunset were sitting behind us.

It was then that my phone rang. I gave an apologetic look to Aria, before answering it. It was Igneous.

"Evening David. I was just calling to let you know Principal Celestia called from Canterlot High. She would like you to come tour and get your schedule together on the last Monday of the month. The 30th."

"Sounds good" I smiled.

"I then heard a chuckle. "Also, Maud says to remember to wrap it up. On a personal note... have fun David. You deserve it."

"Thanks" I smiled softly, before hanging up. Aria was content, already munching on the popcorn. She chuckled when I told her what Igneous had said.

"Seriously... I spent so many years giving out that... if things go well... I want us to take it slow. Do things when we are ready to."

"I would like that Aria" I smiled.

Pinkie and Sunset grinned.

Step Two: Checkmark.

Naturally, the movie was incredible. From the undertaker's plea for justice. It was during the funeral for the Don that I felt a hand clasp mine. Aria smiled softly as I turned to her.

"We made our mistakes. Trying to mind control everyone was a mistake. This is not. I have loved tonight. And you earned this, Davey boy" she said, suddenly kissing me. I was surprised but kissed her back.

Magic was truly in the air.

Pinkie grinned. "I guess we didn't need step three, huh Sunset?"

Sunset frowned. "Yeah, I guess. It would have been fun to use the whipped cream though."

At this point, I turned around. "Yes, and you two don't know how to whisper. Be good friends and let us enjoy this. Or I'll tell your boyfriends."

Aria chuckled. Naturally, the girls complied.

Adagio awaited us as we arrived back at the apartments. Aria smiled and kissing me on the cheek, skipping into the apartment.

Adagio smiled. "Okay. You got my approval. Have a good night, David."

"Adagio?" I said, as she turned to go.

"Yeah?" she asked turning around.

"Causing a drop of blood to spill doesn't mean there are a lack of bandages. You three are fine by me. Have a good night."

Adagio smiled. As she went to sleep that night, she could feel it. There was something in this.

But that would come later. First was a school tour.
