Ch.17: School of Rock

As I stood outside of Principal Celestia's office on that Monday, I was not worried. Over milkshakes the previous day, Rarity and Applejack had told me about her. She was not an old crone or witch, but genuinely nice. She was not afraid to punish students if she needed to, however.

I took a deep breath and knocked on the door. I heard a video pause, then a female voice cheerfully say to come in. I opened the door stepping inside to see Principal Celestia stand up. She was tall. Like a female anthro Bambi. She chuckled.

"You are not the first student to notice my height. I take after my mother. Anyways, it is nice to meet you, David! Would you like a cup of coffee?" she asked gesturing to the coffee maker on a nearby shelf. I nodded, trying, and failing to stifle a yawn, which made her laugh.

The cup in my hands, she had me sit as she did. "So, David, I will tell you that you do not have to worry about any of your previous classes on Earth and how they may apply here. Just to be clear- do you have Algebra and Geometry, along with Biology under your belt?"

I nodded. "Did all of them last year."

"You must love school" she observed.

I nodded. "I do. I'm a good student. Had a B average there in Onaway. Not noticeably big class sizes either- about forty to a graduation class."

Celestia smirked, folding her hands. "It is on average a number of 170 here. Canterlot is not big akin to Baltimaire or Manehatten. The reason I ask if you have those classes is because they are apart of five that we require every student to take- along with Civics and Creative Writing. Here in Pandestria, Education is a local matter. Makes sense with Pandestria only being a big piece of land."

I nodded, surprised by that. "So, what is the population of Pandestria, anyway?"

"About 150 million" she smiled, giggling as my jaw dropped.

"Six billion and counting on Earth" I said after a moment. She smiled, finishing her coffee.

"Feel free to keep your coffee here or bring it with you. It is time to give you a tour."

"There are two hallway I don't need to show you" she explained as we left her office. "They are the Freshmen and Sophomore hallway where their classes are most of the time. Here in Canterlot, it is believed that education should be tailored to what a student wishes to learn. Other than those five classes" she said walking up a staircase as I followed her.

I was completely amazed as she showed me the second floor, which was most of the elective classes- Woodworking, Culinary Arts, Etc. The school certainly had a nice selection!

Making our way downstairs, I could only ask. "Is Vice Principal Luna your sister?"

Principal Celestia smiled and nodded. "Three years younger, but yes. She should be here any- "

"Sorry Celestia!" we heard, as Vice Principal Luna made her way over to us. "A student decided to put whipped cream on my windshield."

I resisted the urge to laugh, wondering if Pinkie had committed the crime. Celestia shook her head as Luna introduced herself. Luna grinned.

"I hear you and Aria Blaze are dating" she grinned.

I blushed and nodded. Celestia giggled as I followed them.

"Luna has been married for three years now. Her wife likes to prank her."

"She does" Luna sighed. "But I would not trade Spitfire for anything."

"We do need to find you a date" Luna teased her sister. The two traded barbs as I followed them to see some of the classrooms, before poking my head into the gym. Holy hell! This gym was huge, dwarfing others I had seen. Here, I heard the voice once more.

"You will have fun, deary."

"I bet" I said, Luna turning to me in concern. She shared a look with Celestia.

"Does he have magic in him unknowingly?" she whispered. Celestia frowned as I followed them back to her office.

"Who knows? Igneous said he has not displayed anything. Luna, I need you to inform your Equestrian counterpart. There is more to this".

"Then meets the eye"
