Elaine had just lost her crew of friends, and was now Seville-bound with two other prisoners. Needless to say, things were entering some rough seas.

Soldier 1: Supper. Eat it fast.(The soldier placed a bowl of gruel next to the three captives. Uninterested, Elaine turned to address her fellow prisoner.)

Elaine: You hungry?

Ava: Not I. But there's still something that can be done...(She used the gruel to slicken her bindings and slip out of them, before springing Elaine free.)

Elaine: Now what's your plan, mate?

Ava: Find my weapon and steal a ship. You coming, Nathaniel?

Nathaniel: Aye, just give me a minute... So, how'd you end up here?

Elaine: I was betrayed by the very people whom I thought were loyal to me.

Nathaniel: They're friends with Antonia, then, huh?

Elaine: How did you...?

Nathaniel: She's been looking for any kind of people to help with matters concerning the Governor. She may not be his superior, but she still stays true to the cause!

Soldier 2: God help us. I don't like the look of that storm coming.

Soldier 3: It looks like it's veering west, into the gulf. We might be safe.

Ava: Soldier!

Elaine: Unlucky lads.

Soldier 4: Aieee!

Elaine: Christ, the seas are uneasy today.

Nathaniel: Hurricane coming.

Elaine: Hurricane? Jaysus.

Ava: We're stealing a brig. Hey, take what you need!

Elaine: Won't be a minute.

The three acquaintances found themselves battling soldiers and rough waters to earn their freedom! In the end it all seemed worth it.

Crewman 1: Godfrey Lijah, we made it!

Crewman 2: Oh what a mess! Jaysus.

Elaine: By God, we pulled this one straight from the teeth of Neptune... I'm Elaine. Much thanks for your aid back there.

Ava: Ava. And this here's Nathaniel.

Elaine: Ever been to Nassau, Ava?

Ava: Not yet.

Elaine: By God, she took some knocks, didn't she? I think I'll keep her. All hands aft, lads! We're taking this one home!

Elaine knew that before she could even let her crew have it for betraying the trust they'd built together, she'd have to head back to Nassau to reunite with some other friends of hers.

Thatch: Go on, Captain Queernabs! Tell me I'm under arrest! Tell me!

Nathaniel: Them your breds?

Hornigold: Fly away, boyo! Back to your master!

Elaine: Aye. We was privateers together, before the wars ended. I'll see you ashore.

Hornigold: By God, you're a sight for salty eyes! Come you in and have a drink.

Elaine: Morning, all.

Thatch: Ahoy, Kenway. Who's this?

Elaine: Ava, the Jackdaw's quartermaster. And this here's Nathaniel, said to be the roughest buccaneer to walk the earth.

Thatch: Jackdaw? You named your brig after a poxy bird?

Elaine: Ava, these lads are the better part of our growing confederacy here. Ed Thatch, Ben Hornigold, James Kidd.

Hornigold: You let em carry a pistol, do ye?

Elaine: Peace, Ben. They saved my life. And now we're looking for a crew to fill out the rest of my ship.

Thatch: Well, there's scores of capable men about. But use caution. A shipload of the King's sailors showed up a fortnight back, causing trouble and knocking about like they own the place.

Elaine: Right. I'll see who I can muster.

Ava: Send any men you find to the Jackdaw. I'll put them to work.

Elaine: Cheers Ava.

Meanwhile, Kevin and the others were expecting their own reward for helping Antonia. Problem was, they wouldn't be getting it!

(At Antonia's private estate, Kevin speaks to a drained Nina.)

Kevin: I didn't think Milady would hold back on what she promised us...

Nina: She views her interests as superior to others. Shouldn't affect you none, that's all I know.(coughs)

Kevin: Why tell me this now?

Nina: I want to help you all the way to the end.

Kevin: I am not certain that your mistress nor the Grand Master would agree with your views.(A guard interrupts them)I suppose you have business to attend to.(Nina nods)

Nina: Yes, sir. Understood, sir. I'm, sure they'll understand, sir.

Kevin(to himself): Well Lady Antonia, you seem to be hiding more than what you're willing to admit. Better get Cathy and the others, and blow this pop stand.

(Kevin avoids detection and the guards as he searches for his friends. He soon is sidetracked by a golden door, which he learns that his ring is a key to unlocking. Now more desperate than ever to find his friends, Kevin continues to play the stealth game as he goes from room to room, until he finally finds them)

Catherine: Kevin?

Kevin: I think we've been a bunch of total jerks to our Captain, Cathy. Antonia has a secret that I think our rings can unlock.

Catherine: Ours and the other girls?

Kevin: I believe so. Where are Gilbert and Harrison?

Catherine: With the huntress and her partner.

Kevin: Then I guess there's one thing to do then...(He continues to stave off the guards until he spots Nina, and kills her)

Nina: Why?

Kevin: Your loyalty to Antonia made it perfectly clear just what you're fighting for! Now I'll have a chance to atone, and you have used up every last bit of strength, for nothing.

Nina: No. Not for nothing. Milady always plans ahead for these things, and your Captain has no idea of what awaits her.

Kevin(taking off her ring): Then she'll have one less maiden to see it through!

Catherine: Kevin!

Kevin: Three rings are in hand, five more are to be located. As for our other situation...

Catherine: We'll need to find her, I know.

Elaine was reviewing basic pirate routines with the others, taking stuff from the enemy chief among them. One day...

Thatch: Here's to our pirate republic, lads. We're prosperous and free, and out of the reach of kings, clergy, and debt collectors.

Kidd: Near five-hundred men now pledge their allegiance to the brethren of the coast in Nassau. Not a bad number.

Thatch: Truth. Yet we lack sturdy defences. If the King were to attack the town, he'd trample us.

Elaine: Then let us find the Observatory. If it does what these Templars claim, we'll be unbeatable.

Thatch: Not that twaddle again, Kenway! That's a story for schoolboys. I mean proper defences. Steal a galleon, shift all the guns to one side. Would make a nice ornament for one of our harbours.

Nathaniel: It will not be easy to steal a full Spanish galleon. Have you one in mind?

Thatch: I do, sir. And I'll show you. She's a fussock she is. Fat and slow.(The pair set out on the Jackdaw to find El Arca del Maestro.)

Thatch: Your Jackdaw handles nice. Pinched her from the Spanish, was it?

Elaine: Aye, in the midst of a hurricane.

Ava: Just before the treasure fleet was smashed against the shore.

Thatch: Was the haul aboard as rich as men are saying?

Elaine: A thousand times that. I reckon a million pounds worth of reales were sunk that day.

Thatch: Devil love a hurricane! Might have a dive there one day. See what we can rummage up.

Nathaniel: Diving them wrecks would be a nice change of pace for us. No need for violent actions against merchants and such.

Thatch: Well! That's some soft talk coming from a pirate. And as it happens... I mostly agree. We'll save the clashing of cutlasses for the military, and them that get in our way. Easy as she goes. No telling what you may find out here.

Ava: Like staring through a waterfall.

Elaine: Don't soil your breeches, lads. I got this.

Nathaniel: Whoa! That ship's a monster! Look at the size of her!

Thatch: Aye. And we'd not last long face to face with her. You hear that, Kenway? Keep your distance, and we'll strike when fortune favors us.

Elaine: Under cover of darkness, most likely.

Thatch: Aye, it may come to that.

Ava: Look.

Thatch: Charles Vane. He's as reckless as they come.

Elaine: An old friend of yours?

Thatch: Not a man I'd call a friend. But we've been doing this kind of work for so long, I can't help but respect the man.

Our heroes soon got caught up in some nautical nastiness as the fought off the enemy!

Elaine: She's sailing for that island.

Thatch: I know the place. A natural stronghold used by a French captain named Du Casse.

Elaine: Julien du Casse? The Templar?

Thatch: Name's right. Didn't know he had a title.

Elaine: I know the man. And if he sees my ship, he'll know it from his time in Havana. Meaning he may wonder at who's sailing her now. I can't risk that.

Thatch: And I don't want to lose that galleon. Let's think on it... and maybe wait till it's dark before hopping aboard.

Kevin and Catherine: CAPTAIN!

Elaine: Look who decided to come back.

Kevin: We have to tell you something very important...

Elaine: No time for that now. Gentlemen! As is custom among our kind, we do not plunge headlong into folly on the orders of a single madman, but act according to our own collective madness! The object of our attention is a square-rigged galleon, and we want her for the advantage she'll bring Nassau. So I'll put it to the vote... All those in favor of storming this cove and taking this ship, stomp and shout "Aye!"

Crew: Aye!

Elaine: Those who oppose... whimper "Nay." None? Well, that's promising. Never was the King's Council so unified. I'm going in!

Soldier 1: Did you hit something? Can you see?

Soldier 2: If you're so curious, why don't you have a look?

Julien: Speed along, men! Double time! Hurry now! We've four harbours to hit this week! Eh, oh! Look alive! We'll weigh anchor before dawn! Eat your fill, men! This is the last time you will see land for a month! Lively, lads! What's happening there? See that the cargo is secure! Move your ass and do your job, (son of a bitch!)

Elaine: You remember the gift you gave me? Well it answers just fine.

Julien: (You son of a whore!) As bold as a musket ball, and still half as sharp.

Elaine: I'm sorry about this, mate. But I can't risk you telling your Templar friends about me still kicking around.

Julien: I pity you buccaneer. After all you have seen, after all we showed you of our Order, still you embrace the life of an ignorant and aimless rogue.

Elaine: What's this...?

Julien: Is petty larceny the extent of your ambition? Have you no mind to comprehend the scope of ours? All the empires on Earth, abolished! A free and opened world, without parasites like you! (May the hell you find be of your own making.)

Elaine: If it is, I hope it'll handle me. The cove is ours!

It was clear trust was still a top issue for Elaine, Kevin, and Catherine. On Tulum, however, things would get much worse!

Assassin 1: The Mentor bids us be ready for anything. The Templars may know our whereabouts now.

Assassin 2: It was Walpole, isn't that right? The Englishman?

Assassin 1: Aye. He played us from the start... betrayed our confidence.

Assassin 2: How could we have known? Even Ah Tabai was taken in by his charms.

Assassin 3: I saw a ship pass this way, close upon the shore, then gone.

Assassin 4: Ah Tabai warned us to be vigilant. The Templars have been closing in for well on a year now.

Assassin 3: Indeed. But Templars make noise with their comings and goings. I've not heard a thing just yet.

Assassin 4: You will.

Assassin 5: What is he doing here?

Assassin 6: He has been summoned. Though he does not know it.

Assassin 7: An imposter wears the costume of a traitor. How much lower can one fall?

Elaine: Ugh. Jaysus, Kidd! You led me into a mess. Is it these monks guarding the treasure you promised me?

Kidd: I told you I had a secret to share... but I didn't say it would be easy. Now let's get this door open and I'll show you what's inside.

Elaine: Ah! We're on to something. I can feel it...

Ah Tabai: Captain Kenway.

Elaine: Ah!

Ah Tabai: Where is the Assassin, Dana Walpole?

Elaine: Dead and buried. After she tried to kill me.

Ah Tabai: We are not sorry to see her gone. But it was you who carried out her final betrayal. Why?

Elaine: Money was my only aim.

Ah Tabai: Should I find comfort in that? You murdered our brothers and sisters in Havana!

Kidd: She has the Sense, Mentor.

Ah Tabai: James tells me you treated with the Templars there. Did you see the man they call The Sage?

Elaine: Aye.

Ah Tabai: Would you recognize his face if you saw it again?

Elaine: I reckon so...

Ah Tabai: I must be certain.

Kidd: Not a word. Come on.

While Kevin and Catherine waited outside, Elaine followed Kidd throughout what would indeed open her mind to what wasn't there before.

Elaine: You walked me blind and backwards into this mess, Kidd! Who the hell was that jester back there?

Kidd: Ah Tabai, an Assassin. And my Mentor.

Elaine: So you're all part of some daffy religion?

Kidd: We're Assassins and we follow a Creed, aye. But it does not command us to act or submit... only to be wise.

Elaine: Oh. Do tell. I'd love to hear it.

Kidd: "Nothing is true, everything is permitted." This is the world's only certainty.

Elaine: "Everything is permitted?" I like the sound of that. Thinking what I like, and acting how I please.

Kidd: You parrot the words... but you do not understand them.

Elaine: Don't get haughty with me, Kidd. I followed you as a friend, and you tricked me.

Kidd: I saved your skin bringing you here, man. These men wanted you dead for what you did in Havana. I talked 'em out of it.

Elaine: Well cheers for that.

Kidd: Aye. Cheers.

Elaine: So it's you lot them Templars have been chasing, then?

Kidd: Until you came along and mucked things up, it was us chasing them. We had them running scared. But they have the upper hand now. The door's mechanism seems to be broke. Let's find another way 'round. Follow on, man! Jump!

The temple indeed carried something worth taking into account.

Elaine: Jaysus. That's him. The Sage. But this thing must be hundreds of years old.

Kidd: Older still. You're certain it's him?

Elaine: Aye. It's the eyes that mark him.

Kidd: Did the Templars say why they wanted this Sage?

Elaine: They drew some of his blood into this small glass cube.

Kidd: Like this one?

Elaine: Aye. They meant to ask him about the Observatory too, but he escaped.

Kidd: Hm. We're finished here.

(Outside)

Catherine: I don't think these guys are friendly, Kevin.

Kevin: You had me at unfriendly.(The pair soon hear Gilbert screaming)You hear that?

(They rush off to save their friends, only to find a trap, and slavers waiting for them)

Theodora: Well, this is a pleasant surprise.

Zoe: Just like we always planned.

Kevin(realizing): Antonia!

Elaine: What the hell did I just see back there? Jim!

Kidd: Quiet!

Ah Tabai: The statue in the temple. Was that the man you saw in Havana?

Elaine: Spitting likeness, aye.

Ah Tabai: It seems another Sage has been found, the race for the Observatory begins anew.

Elaine: Is that why we're whispering?

Ah Tabai: This is your doing, Captain Kenway. The maps you sold to the Templars have led them straight to us. And now the agents of two empires know exactly where we operate.

Kidd: Leave this to me, Mentor.

Ah Tabai: They have taken Edward's crew as well. I wonder what their lives are worth to him?

Kidd: Take this. You'll attract no attention, and take fewer lives.

Elaine: Right. Cathy, I hope you and Kevin are safe...

Soldier 1: You seen this temple here? It's massive.

Soldier 2: Aye. I'm wondering if it's full of gold and jade and the like.

Assassin 1: I pity you men. You have crossed the wrong people here.

Soldier 1: Has to be, don't it? Where else would the Dagos get it?

Soldier 2: They're pulling it out of the ground, aren't they?

Crew members: Ease off, mate. You ain't got nothing on us. I was a navy man once, but I found a better life sailing under a black flag. And you could too, mate.

Soldier 3: Looks to me like a crew of pirates here.

Soldier 4: Aye. Mixing with these heathens. Makes me bloody sick.

Assassin 2: The hunter and his Assassins will soon come for you.

Soldier 3: God's truth, I can't fathom why.

Soldier 4: Can't handle living among men, can they? Can't handle the Christian life. So they come here.

Soldier 5: Who's this Dutch fella we brought here? What a sourpuss he is.

Soldier 6: A slaver named Prins. I'm told he has a letter of marque from Governor Hamilton. And that we're to afford him every courtesy.

Soldier 5: That's a queer combination.

Assassin 3: You walk the dark road to Xibalba, soldier. May you turn back before your life is corrupted.

Soldier 6: All I know is that he's looking for someone and we're to help him find it.

Nathaniel: If only you lads knew what was coming to you, I think you'd pack your kits and run.

Assassin 4: Leave while you can, English man. Death is certain, otherwise.

Soldier 7: Gah! Carting old misers around ain't what I signed up for.

Soldier 8: You were pressed into service, you nob!(Elaine freed the Assassins and her crew members.)

Nathaniel: Many thanks, breddah.

Kevin: I suppose we'll owe you for this someday, won't we?

Zoe: Good job. You managed to free your friends and our enemies all at the same time. But, you did it so well that I would think you'd be accepted by now... Or, could I be wrong?

Kidd: See that mangy old codger? He's a Dutch slaver called Laurens Prins. Living now like a king in Jamaica. Bastard's been a target for years. Bloody hell, we nearly had him!

Elaine: By God, you bravos are a cheery bunch eh. All frowns and furrowed brows.

Ah Tabai: Captain Kenway. You have remarkable skills.

Elaine: Ah, thanks, mate. It comes natural.

Ah Tabai: But you are churlish and arrogant, prancing around in a uniform that you have not earned.

Elaine: Everything is permitted. Isn't that your motto?

Ah Tabai: I absolve you of your errors in Havana and elsewhere, but you are not welcome here.

Kidd: Sorry, mate. Wish it were otherwise.

Gilbert: Well, that sounds like bad news. Say, is all forgiven on our end?(Elaine and Kevin look at each other, and with a Hmph, head back to the ship without saying anything)Guess not.
