{ The Gifted Researcher }
In a dimly lit room in a house inside Eikoln Town, now officially named by Kayblis in just a few days, a 125 cm girl with small orange horns protruding out of her hair was resting her head on a table, looking like she needed it.
While she was resting, she heard the door to this house being knocked on. In reaction, she slowly got out of her wooden chair and slowly walked to the door in a way that she tried to conserve energy; small steps, focused breathing, and her hand cautiously grabbing the wooden wall as if she was supporting herself.
"Ah chief, it's you." She gently spoke after opening the door, revealing Kayblis patiently waiting.
"Suu, any reports considering your research?" He asked, prompting her to suddenly stop on her tracks.
"Of course. There's both bad news and good news regarding what the town's development. Come in, there more details I have to reveal. Huff..." She said nonchalantly, turning around and almost excitedly walking towards the same room she was researching something at.
Kayblis glanced at Suu with observing eyes, narrowing it for a moment, before a dim light appeared on his eye in the second moment. He was content, and proceeded to follow her.
'... Suu, born as one of the first Lis subspecies, and with a great defect on her body that made exerting physical things way harder than normally should, and that her evolution ability wasn't even present like 5 of the Lis Humans. Well at least she's incredibly gifted in terms of intelligence, surpassing the current Lis Humans and even me in many ways, even though she's adamant that I'm smarter and wiser than her.' Kayblis thought, with a soft smile present on his face, before proceeding with scanning her Level, Class and Skill Levels.
'... Currently, she's Level 26 with the strange class of ESPer with a Level Cap of 50. Like certain Lis who birthed her and the current Lis Humans, they all died and she was parentless. Still, her Level 2 Research skill is incredibly useful for the advancement of this Town. Plus, she's the youngest and the weakest of the 9, being only 5 years old.' He concluded, entering the room after her.
Suu immediately sat down on the wooden chair and started to sweat and breathe heavily. However, she, for some reason had still kept her composure.
"... Huff... Anyways, let us start on the bad news. I found out that what you taught us about magic needs some modifications." She spoke out as nonchalantly as she could, handing me a paper describing a new magic formula, if that was what she thought of.
Before Kayblis could even speak, she continued by interrupting him.
"I am not finished with the bad news yet, sorry. I also noticed that our development was slow, and that is not even that bad, however, I have figured a solution to a few problems regarding the movement of heavy materials." She handed out another, larger paper to Kayblis, well, not really, it was sinply a blueprint for what seemed to be a wheel, and a larger wooden cart.
'... That's right, I might have forgotten to develop that, darn. And honestly, the bad news weren't that much of bad news.' Kayblis thought, feeling quite stupid for a middle aged boy like him.
"Fuu~... What about the good news?" He asked, in which Suu smiled, albeit faintly, and handed out a short stack of papers with little effort.
"... That is... just a part of the good news. The next part is simply that, this town can expand and become this "empire" you dream in shorter periods of time." She yawned out, feeling tired already.
And it seemed like Kayblis had already read all of the papers that she gave him with a grin on his face.
"Heh~! Nice, nice! Gyahahaha~!" He almost shouted out, then started muttering about things like "skipping a few steps up the ladder in a good way", and several more things.
"... As expected of our chief, he really plans ahead of me..." Suu sighed out, with sleep forcing to take over her at the morning and gave her a hallucination of Kayblis being taller and more strange looking for a moment, nonetheless.
That right, she hasn't rested for many hours, leading for eyebags to start appearing on her eyes.
"Chief. Can you stay for a moment?" She then asked, just at the right moment before Kayblis left the room nonchalantly.
Her chief stopped, looking at her with observing eyes.
"Well, can't exactly focus on this and training all the time. So, why not? Also, I'll take the papers to my house later." Their chief proceeded to put the papers and blueprints to the table, before putting another wooden chair beside the Loli and sitting on it.
"Thank you, papa." She whispered, leaning towards Kayblis and immediately slept after a few seconds of closing her eyes.
"Right, she's also one of my adopted children..." Kayblis said, looking at the sleeping, half naked Lis Human beside him.
Perhaps he should stop training for a small while? He was probably too focused on it, anyways.
