Chapter 19
"Annie..." Eren growls as Annie has transformed into the Female Titan. "You want to fight, then we'll give you a fight!" Katrina and Eren then bite their hand and transforms into both the Weather Titan and Attack Titan.
(Flashback)
A few days before the operation, Levi mutters, "They're late. Erwin and his men are keeping me waiting. The MP escorts will come here before they do." Levi sips a tea and says, "He's probably constipated and having a rough day."
"Dad, were you always this talkative?" Aya asks.
"Yeah." Levi said as he touched his wounded leg.
"If only we made the real decision, Petra, Oluo, and the others wouldn't have died..." Peter mutters.
"Yeah...but then again, no one knows how things will turn out, we're just unlucky." Katrina says.
After a while, Erwin and his man arrived, Mikasa, Armin, Jean, and Sasha were also there. "You guys?" Aya asks.
"Thanks to your information, this time, we're not going to let her escape." Erwin says. "The operation will be in two days. It will take place in Stohess District, on our way to the capital. This is our first and last chance. Once we pass that point, both Eren and Katrina will be remanded to the capital. Our pursuit of those who seek to destroy the walls will become fraught with difficulty. Ultimately, humanity stands to go extinct. We will stake everything on this plan."
Everyone nods and Erwin continues, "When we pass through Stohess, Eren and Katrina will act as a decoy and lead the target into this underground tunnel. If we can get her to the lowest level, given the tunnel's size and structural integrity, even if the target transforms, we can immobilize her. But if she transforms before then... Eren, Katrina, we need your help."
"Yes sir." Katrina and Eren nod.
"And we also think that Annie Leonhart is the one who killed the two captured Titans." Erwin says.
"We know." Eren says. "I have to guess that she is also the one who took Marco's ODM gear."
Jean just grits his teeth, and Levi says, "Do you have any proof?"
"We don't know..." Aya frowns as she looks at Eren, who nods. "The thing is, one of Eren's abilities is to see the future."
"See the future? For real?" Armin asks.
"Not all of them, but fragments of it. I might have seen Annie transforming into a Titan in the future, but did we win or not, I'm not sure." Eren says.
"I see... If we fail this operation, then both you and Katrina will be sacrificed to the people in the capital, are you sure you're fine with it?"
"We won't lose. I'm sure about it." Eren says.
(Flashback Ends)
"Damn! You killed those people!" Katrina yells in anger.
"That ring!" Armin says while he, Aya, Mikasa, Peter, and Odom is running underground. "She knew I was bluffing from the start! She knew we would ambush her!"
"We should think about it later, Eren and Katrina are now fighting and it is two against one." Mikasa says while seeing Eren throw a punch at Annie, who blocks with the hand but is unable to block the Thunder from Katrina.
"What about us? Where are we going?"
"We're going to find Squad 3." Aya says as they find the squad in front of them, only for Annie to stomp through it and kill them.
"Damn it!" Aya says, "I'm going to fight as well!"
"But how did she know it won't kill us?" Peter asks.
"She made a bet to think they wouldn't hurt us!" Odom says.
Eren and Katrina are still fighting Annie as Katrina tries to throw the snowball, but Annie dodges, and Eren gets hit.
"Sorry, Eren!" Katrina says.
"Damn it... Annie is skilled..." Eren says. Just then, they see Mikasa and Aya jump into the battle. "Mikasa! Aya!" Eren gets out from his Titan body and says.
"Eren, Katrina, she killed Squad 3! We're joining in!" Aya says.
"Annie, we won't let you have Eren and Katrina!" Mikasa yells as she slashes her blade, but the hardening causes it to be useless.
Annie decides to run away, but the scouts yell, "Don't let the Female Titan get away!"
At the same time, Nile yells, "Escort team, we don't need you here! Go see what's happening!"
Marlo and Hitch leave and Nile starts to have doubts about what's going on. Erwin and Levi arrive and Erwin says, "Nile! Deploy all of your troops. We should assume a Titan has appeared."
"Wh-what?" Nile is surprised. "This is Wall Sina... There's no way a Titan could be here!"
Jean and Sasha jump off the cart, and they decide to reveal themselves and run away.
"Commander! We're going!" Sasha says.
"Get your equipment from Squad 4!" Erwin says.
"Roger!" Both of them say as Levi warns them not to die. Nile is still in the dark as Erwin ignores him and commands the scouts to move.
"Erwin, wait!" Nile points the rifle at him, and the other MPs are doing the same. "What you're doing is clearly treason against the crown!"
"Nile, I'm starting to wonder if your brains don't even live up to that sorry excuse of a beard." Levi says. "Seems to me that you don't even have a clue what's going on."
Nile wants Erwin to drop the equipment, but then they notice the three Titans fighting. Jean and Sasha are rushing towards them and Jean laments that he should've been one of the MPs since they're slacking.
Annie tries to attack the scouts by taking the ODM gear, but Mikasa, Aya, Peter, Armin, and Odom are dodging the attacks from the Female Titan.
"Watch out for the falling rocks!" Armin yells, but just as a rock is about to hit him, Odom pushes him out of the way and is hit.
"Odom!" Armin yells.
"I'm fine..." Odom says, but he passes out. "Armin, I'll take care of Odom." Peter says.
Armin glares and says, "Annie! If you can't kill me this time, you can't make the same bullshit excuse that your bet's just beginning anymore!"
At the same time, Sasha and Jean also arrive and try to slash the nape, but the hardening causes them to fail. "So close!" Sasha mutters.
"Let's go with the plan!" Jean yells as the two Titans are running away with Annie chasing after them, and once they run past, Annie notices Hange firing the barrel and wires are shooting at her for the second time.
After Annie falls to the ground, they throw a net at her. Eren and Katrina also get out of the Titan form. "So the plan worked?" Eren asks.
"I guess so." Aya replies.
"Okay! I thought there was no need for this plan, but nope. That's Commander Erwin for you, I guess."
Hange walks towards Annie as she is trying to attack, but Annie manages to get out of the attack by using her legs to destroy the weapons.
"She broke free?!" Mikasa asks.
"We needed more traps!" Hange says. "Don't let her escape! Follow her!"
Annie tries to run away, and Eren says, "Where are Peter and Odom?"
Armin says, "Odom is hit by the rubble, and Peter is trying to wake him up."
At the same time, Peter manages to wake Odom up, and Odom says, "I think I'm going to do it as well..."
Eren, Mikasa, Katrina, and Aya are now using their ODM gears to fight the Female Titan, with Annie running and trying to grab the three of them, but she manages to kick Mikasa, who tries to dodge, but the wind sends her flying.
"Mikasa!" Aya yells. Just then, The lightning appears and the Sky Titan flies into the sky.
"What the?" Nile and the other MPs are shocked, with Erwin staring at it.
Odom flies towards Mikasa and grabs her. "You're safe, Mikasa."
"Odom..." Mikasa is surprised, and Odom uses his wings to slap and punch Annie at the same time, causing her to fall to the ground.
"That is the Sky Titan?" Jean asks.
"Odom is a Titan as well?" Sasha asks in shock.
Peter also bites his arm and transforms into the Ocean Titan, and he also arrives and punches Annie.
"Peter too? That's the Ocean Titan!" Sasha says.
"I know there is something wrong with the suicide squad..." Jean mutters.
Then both Peter and Odom are working together to fight the titan, but their attacks cause the Church of Walls to be destroyed and people were getting killed. Pastor Nick is the only survivor, and he is shocked.
"Damn it... " Annie mutters before charging at the wall. Odom and Peter are trying to chase after it. Odom uses his wings in the sky while Peter decides to run on the rivers.
People in Stohess are scared to see the three Titans fighting, and Hange says, "So we get to see both Sky and Ocean Titan in action."
Eren says, "Maybe we should also transform and fight as well."
Then Eren and Katrina also become the Titans and chase after the Female Titan. Annie stares at the four of them and she curses, "Shit... all four of them? You have to be kidding me..."
After Annie stops, she tries to fight all four of them on her own, and Eren says, "Annie, you always acted like you found everything incredibly stupid. You always seemed bored."
"But there were times when you looked alive..." Peter says. "When you were showing off your martial arts, and when you were with Armin... You said none of it mattered, but..."
"To us, it didn't look like you really believe it. I thought you were a terrible liar..." Katrina says.
"Tell us, Annie, what are you fighting for?" Odom asks. "For the people in Marley? Who treats Eldians as trash?"
Then the four of them decide to do their combination attack, with Katrina creating a giant geyser and Peter using the water to attack. Eren grabs onto Odom and then land a kick on Annie.
"Squad Leader." Moblit says, "I hate to say it, but the city will be debris and corpses even if we manage to catch her."
"We're doing this regardless," Hange replies. "Erwin's decision is final. Be ready to capture her."
Aya says, "I'm going to fight as well!" Then she rushes into the battlefield, with Mikasa following her.
"No one told me anything about this..." Marlo is surprised.
"Why are the Titans fighting here?" Hitch asks.
Back with Erwin and Levi, they are still surrounded by Nile and the MPs. "Erwin! Was this your plan all along?"
"That's right." Erwin says. "All of this was my personal decision. I don't intend to make excuses."
Nile grabs his collar, "You must have known what would happen if you executed a plan like this in the city. How? How could you do this?"
People and debris are on the way, with a girl crying. "For humans to lead humanity to victory."
"Bullshit!" Nile aims the rifle at Erwin once again. "You're nothing but a traitor! I should kill you right here and now! None of the higher-ups would even give a shit!"
"That's fine by me, but then you must assume command." Erwin says. "You must not let the Female Titan escape. Paehl's in charge of formation. Vyler oversees supply. Work with them to drive her to the east wall at all costs."
"Hold on! Are you really telling me that this will help humanity?" Nile asks.
"I have faith it's a step forward."
Then Nile decides to handcuff Erwin before having the MPs escort the civilians to safety.
"Erwin, I hereby wash my hands of you and leave you to the high court."
"I'll accept their judgment. Thank you, Nile." He turns to Levi, "Levi, for now, stay here. You dislike unnecessary deaths, don't you?"
"Yeah. I hate it. It's truly loathsome, no matter who dies, even my daughter."
The attack continues, and Annie realizes that she can't beat all four of them together, especially since Aya and Mikasa are joining in. She decides to grab Peter and throws it to Eren, causing them to be slammed to the wall, but both of them still manage to get back up and Odom body slams Annie just by the wall.
"Now this will teach you a lesson!" Eren starts to squeeze the Female Titan's head until blood is splattered. Annie screams in pain until she kicks Eren into the house. Annie tries to climb the wall, but Odom flaps the wings to create a strong wind to blow Annie, but Annie uses the hardened hand to slash Odom to the ground, which bumps into Eren.
"You're not getting away!" Aya yells as she manages to slash one side of the fingers while Mikasa slashes the other side, causing Annie to fall to the ground.
Eren manages to slash away Annie's head, causing the shifter to appear from the nape. Katrina says, "I'll get the Female Titan's power!"
She tries to eat Annie, but Hange yells, "Don't do it, Katrina!"
"Katrina, wait!" Annie is trying to crystallize herself, Eren, Katrina, Peter, and Odom manage to get out of their Titan bodies before it happens.
"Damn it... the crystalization!" Eren mutters.
"If only we have the War Hammer or the Jaws..." Katrina says.
Aya frowns as she walks towards the crystal, Jean and Sasha are trying to break the crystal and Jean yells, "What is this? We've come this far, and you still won't say a word, Annie?! Come out! Come out and finish what you've started!"
If only she wasn't a Titan... Aya tries to touch the crystal, but the crystal won't disappear. "It's no use..." Eren frowns as he touches Aya's shoulder, but much to their surprise, the crystal starts to shatter.
"What's going on? My power..." Annie is trying to struggle, but she faints and Aya is also surprised as some sort of energy is flowing into her, she starts to feel dizzy and also faints.
"Aya! What's going on?" Levi rushes towards her daughter, and everyone widens their eyes in shock.
"The crystal broke..." Mikasa mutters.
"Quick! Tie Annie up and send her to the dungeon!" Hange says.
Seeing that Annie isn't struggling, Levi asks, "What is going on here?"
After bringing Aya to rest, Erwin also gets the trial. Now all of them are in the room until Aya finally wakes up.
"Aya, are you okay?" Eren asks.
"I'm fine..." Aya mutters. "Where is Annie?"
"She's in the underground dungeon, she seems to be in a coma." Armin frowns.
"We got nothing from that massive operation." Jean mutters. "She was willing to go that far to protect the information. She got away from us."
After Jean, Sasha, and Armin leave, Katrina asks, "So what did you do to Annie?"
"I don't know...when I touch any of the people who can turn into Titans, my hair color has been changing, but after touching it for the first time, it shouldn't be doing anything. But back when I touch her, I feel like I'm stealing her Titan powers..."
"Stealing her Titan powers?" This causes everyone to be confused. "What do you mean by that?" Peter asks.
Katrina says, "Hold my hand, can you still my powers?"
Aya tries to hold her hand, but nothing happened. "My powers are still here..."
Peter and Odom are doing the same thing, but nothing happened. But when Eren touched Aya, he felt his energy being taken. "Aya! Stop!"
Aya quickly let go, and she asked, "I'm sorry..."
"But why am I the one..." Eren asks.
Odom says, "Do you think it is related to the Founding Titan? With the Founding Titan and Aya's powers combined, she could take away a Titan's powers?"
"If that's the case, I'm glad I didn't take your power away, Eren..." Aya says.
"Yeah..." Eren sighs. "There are still a lot of mysteries that we have yet to know..."
