Another peaceful day in the town of Cokeworth. It was the time when the winds constantly blew gently across the horizon and the sunshine was just the right amount that people wouldn't be able to stop themselves from having a picnic. Kids running around to their heart's content and those around smiling with their loved ones to enjoy a great day together.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, some just do whatever the heck they and ignored the stares that got attracted by their strangeness.

"Now, Mr worm, you have a duty to do." A little girl wearing a light sundress was doing something someone in such an outfit should be doing. Tying a worm on a small rusty hook is attached to a flexible fishing string and a simple bamboo that is small enough for her hands to handle.

"Mikoto what are you doing?"

"Shush! Severus, I wanna see how things go."

"She's obviously going to fish, but everybody knows fish stop coming to this part of the lake."

"That's true but she's your sister. Don't you think you should support her a little more?"

Two kids a little older than the little girl was currently lying down on a soft path of tall grass they had made with a little help from their abilities and were currently watching the little girl doing what she was doing as if they were babysitting the girl.

"I am, I'm letting her do it."

His reply only made the other look at him blankly.

"You're really lucky Severus, you have such an adorable sister."

Lily and Severus were both born in the land of England and both have the distinct features of those around but not everyone was alike in the world. Mikoto who has half of her parentage from outside the country had a fair complex like a doll and an unbelievably cute button nose that made Lily and some others gush in adoration at her cute features.

"You said, she's half Japanese? Can't you tell me a little more?"

"I don't know much either."

Severus at first upon meeting his little sister wasn't all that thrilled and his mother didn't share about her either as she just ignored most of what happened in their life. Though, the boy could sometimes see the different emotions she shows when she looks at her daughter.

"All I know is mom had an affair with some handsome foreigner and brought Mikoto home. Dad was difficult at first but he wasn't a saint either, he also had his fair share of affairs too but later on… Mikoto just somehow became part of the family in her own way."

"Wow…. Maybe I shouldn't have asked." Lily gulps at the bomb of information that he just dropped on her. She didn't think the family could be like that with her parents having such a good marriage for her little mind.

"Ah… sorry about that."

*nudge*

"Come on, don't be like that. I'm gonna feel guilty. Besides, I got to know you and your sister better. I don't regret it." Lily smiles softly at her awkward friend who was still a kid that hides behind bushes when others would play.

"…" Severus's cheeks redden a little upon seeing her smile.

*!*

"Just say your glad, you dummy." Lily knew how he acts and just playfully punch him while giggling at his dumb expression. She was enjoying and hanging out with them, making her bad days a little bearable.

"*sigh*You lucky…"

Lily sighs deeply as she looks into the beautiful sky. She looks a little wistful with a sad expression.

"Is… Petunia. Still?"

"Sorry, was it obvious?"

Severus got lectures about what to ask and when to ask around girls, so he won't be insensitive again. He asked where she learned about such things. Her only answer was whether he'll tell her what makes him a boy and there was no way he was going to tell her something that embarrassing.

"She's been avoiding me, mom and dad told me to give her space but…"

"But?"

"I don't want to lose her. She's, my sister. I'm scared if I don't fix things soon, things might never be the same."

Lily didn't just sprout out words because she wanted to. She only did it because she knows he was her best friend and it helps to get it off her chest.

"But it's Hogwarts! I understand why she would be jealous. A place far and wide with magic that could change your perspective. You could turn anything if you have enough imagination. Magical creatures like Unicorns and dragons. And so much more!"

"…" Lily wanted to be angry at the boy but the idea of such a fairytale-like school kept bothering her child's mind. She could help but smile a little at the future ahead of her.

"I got one!"

The two's attention was quickly hooked by the sound of the little girl who was now struggling to pull on the fishing rod and was losing.

"Severus, let's go help her!"

"PULL!" The two then lend a helping hand and pull the fishing rod together with the little girl. Mikoto instructed the two older kids on how to pull so the string won't snap. It took them a few minutes to finally pull the fish out of the water.

"It's a trout and it's so big!" Mikoto, after waiting for an hour finally caught a fish and it was big. She wanted to eat some fish after the constant porridge and other foods she had back home. She was part Japanese and eating fish was normal especially back when she was an Uchiha.

"Hehehe…" Lily found it adorable to see her jumping over a fish. Still, she was impressed for a little girl to be so lucky and catch a big fish like it was no sweat.

"Right, if you are done celebrating. Let's go home and let mom cook it." Severus was a little surprised but got over it since it was his little sister.

"What did you say?" Mikoto wasn't the least bit paying attention to them as she just dug a small wide hole and started making a campfire to cook the fish she just caught. She had already prepared firewood too.

"Wait, are you planning on cooking it here?" Severus, was a little caught off guard since she was still a kid who could only cook simple breakfasts and the fish was still alive, still flaring around on the ground.

*stab*

"Yeah." Mikoto didn't hesitate and pulls out a kitchen knife she took from home to stab the fish in the head without hesitation with some of the blood sprayed on her face.

"…" Severus and Lily face the truth that they had so much to learn about the little girl.

"Here, let me help too." Lily who always helps her mom cook also learned to debone fish. She just didn't want to watch, and she didn't want the little girl to hurt herself with the knife.

"Oh~ thanks Lily-nee."

"It's fine, a girl needs to learn this stuff." The girl was able to skilfully got rid of the bones. She was doing her best to live her life too and the little girl saw the focus face on Lily. Mikoto then kept winking at her brother to come over and help.

Severus could only feel embarrassed when he knew what his little sister was doing. He also sweats dropped a little but got it anyway.

"Here, give it here."

Severus takes the finished deboned fish and started adding the salt and peppers his little sister brought in a good ratio before adding some clean parsley. He had a certain touch in this department.

"The fire is ready Nii-san!"

The three quickly ate the roasted trout after it was done. No one was left unsatisfied, the fish was fresh, mildly juicy, and above all, tasty.

"It's been a while since I eat fish."

"Me too."

Severus and Lily lay back down as Mikoto went ahead and started cleaning off the mess they made to cook the fish.

"…"

"What are you doing?"

"Haa~"

"Hehehe…"

Mikoto squeezes herself in between the two, holding both her brother's hand and the red-haired girl's hand in bliss as if she had no regrets left in the world. Severus was a little annoyed he couldn't hold Lily's hand anymore but the little girl was his little sister. Lily just looks amused at her action and started turning to the two sibling's side with a happy expression.

*…*

All three heard a shuffle amongst the bushes around and turned to find Lily's older sister Petunia tripping after losing her balance.

"Tuney?"

All three got up and move to help the fallen girl. Well, they tried as the older sister of the redhead didn't want their help. Instead, she retorted.

"Lily, why is she wearing the dress I gave you!?"

"Ah…" Lily felt a little guilty since it was true and she in turn had given the dress to Mikoto after seeing her day-to-day outfits. She just wants something nice for the little girl.

"huh? It's yours?"

"Yes, it's mine. I don't know what you were thinking but don't get it over your head. I gave it to my sister and not anyone else. So, take it off!"

Petunia in a sense didn't know what was wrong with her. She and her sister have been having fights and ignoring each for quite some time. It was starting to get to her and guilt sometimes come into her insecure child's mind.

Looking at them, Petunia had been spying on them. Hearing everything they said. It was as if Lily had gone away and made a new life without her.

She wanted to apologize to her and make up. She missed spending time with her because everything after their fight was horrible.

Unfortunately, she did not dare to confront her sister and apologize. Hearing them having such fun with her and everything that had happened since the world of the magic school appeared, her emotions were out of control. She wants her sister to stop her and be friends again.

"Petunia!"

"What? Are you taking these filthy rag's side?"

Lily couldn't believe what her sister was saying. It was like meeting a stranger for the first time. She had never heard her sister say such words to others before. Yes, it was given to her but after that, she had the right to do anything with it.

"Please, stop!" Mikoto moves between the two sisters and shouts out. She didn't want them to fight because of something like this.

"…"

"I… I'll give it back okay. So, please don't fight over something like this."

Her words left a sting on both, they realized they weren't fighting because of the dress. No, they were still fighting over something much more. Mikoto's words just reminded them.

"Now."

"?"

Petunia stopped arguing with her sister but she did not want to leave right away. She wasn't going to wait and decided to get the dress right now.

"Petunia… why?"

"Shut up! I want it back now and I'll leave you and y-your dumb new friends!"

Things weren't going to just end as Petunia didn't know how to stop her boiling emotions.

"You shouldn't talk to her like that." Severus couldn't stand back and stood beside Lily before glaring at the rude older girl.

"What are you going? And what is it that you're wearing? Your mum's blouse?" Petunia glared back with a smirk at her remark. Shy didn't like the boy especially due to the many annoying disgusted glances he had given her.

"…" Severus wasn't going to take it but before he was going to do what he planned. His little sister again came to defuse the situation, though, he and everyone else was surprised at her action.

"Please stop, here. I took it off!"

The little girl was strong, very strong. Her brother knew she had pride as well as strength to back it since he saw them himself but right now, she threw them away for some reason. He knew she could scare away the older girl but instead decided to do something different. This made him very mad.

She held the dress she was wearing in her stretch-out hand, folded very neatly. She was now in her undies after taking off the dress but she was not the least bit embarrassed, she sounded apologetic for some reason. Everyone, even Petunia who had thought her words would be ignored by her was surprised that she took them off.

"…" Petunia, just stop there and accepted the dress that now felt heavier. Right now, she was a little lost. She hated this feeling; she then sees her sister now soothing the little girl who was in her undies. She was at a loss. It was like her sister was going farther and farther away from her.

Turning around, she bit her lips in frustration. Trying to hold back the tears that came. She wanted to soothe too; she wanted her sister by her side just like that again. Just like they used to but she just made things worse by coming here and opening her big mouth.

They were sisters and they had each other backs. But now, it was just awful.

*!*

"Look out!"

Petunia felt being pushed forward at the same time she heard someone call out to her from behind.

"…" Feeling a little shaking but all right. The little girl got up fine and turned around to hear her sister crying and calling out the little dark-haired girl's name. Her eyes widen at the scene before her.

"Mikoto! Mikoto! Help! Someone!"

"…" Some locals that were around heard the noise and cries. They came to the scene of a boy falling to his knees with a shocked expression, one of the older Evans siblings also standing there with a shock expression and the younger Evans crying over an unconscious little girl who was bleeding with a large tree branch on her. Only the red hair girl was trying to pull the branch off while crying out for help. The locals didn't spoke a single word and rush to help.

"Lily, I'm really sorry…. I don't know what…"

"Save it, I saw everything. You were planning it to fall on my sister, weren't you? And it's not me to whom you should be apologizing. I'll come back tomorrow, they said she's fine and only lost a little blood."

"I…"

"Please Severus, we both know she goings to forgive you but don't take that for granted. I mean when I said you're lucky to have her as a sister."

A few hours had already gone by and everything seem to calm down as the kids went back to the Snape house. The parents reacted only a little on seeing their child's condition but still called over a doctor who examined that the little girl was fine and only lost some blood from the hit. Some like bruise here and there was about it. Lily stayed for a while until sunset and kept ignoring Severus who was trying to apologize to his crush and somewhat forgot about his sister's condition since it was not critical.

The next day came, Mikoto was still unconscious and her parents were only mildly reacting to her condition since both had jobs to do. Severus was the only one who was looking after them as they both shared the same room and he felt guilty too. Lily's words reminded him and it was eating him up until Lily herself came to visit with her parents. It was a short visit and after some time, Severus started to do the house chores his sister usually does to show how sorry he was.

"…" Unbeknown to the dark-haired boy, Petunia, the older sister of Lily Evans came to visit. Though he was too busy cleaning to notice her presence or knock. She just went in and got upstairs.

She stops for a second to look around the house, she could tell it was a depressing and dreary house. Still, it was clean and tidy, something she already knew was the work of the little girl since her sister mention it once before.

Petunia walks inside the room where the little girl was still in bed.

"You're still asleep." She could see the little girl sleeping peacefully, the bandage on her head did nothing to mar the adorable girl and her soft-looking locks.

"…" She grabbed herself a sit and sat on the side of the sleeping girl. Her eyes looking at the little girl still fill with guilt.

Looking at the girl, she began to wonder how she was related to the boy downstairs who was having a hard time cleaning the house since appearance-wise, she was leagues over him. Not to mention their parents, she could only tell that they had the same color eyes. Many thoughts came into her head in the silent room.

"I'm… I'm sorry."

"…" She took out the dress that cause all of this or rather the thing she used to instigate the situation because of her anger and other emotions.

"I don't deserve this nice dress. You didn't deserve what happened."

Petunia cried silently as she didn't want things to go this far. She only wanted her sister back but not like this.

"*drip* I'm so sorry, I just don't want Lily to leave me."

Petunia then starts confessing what had happened between herself and Lily. How she felt and how she thought of the situation, she didn't know why but she couldn't hold back the emotions and the disaster she had come to experience these few months anymore.

"It'll be fine…"

"huh?" Petunia rubbed her tears and heard the unconscious girl talk.

"It'll be fine Lily-nee… You just… You just have to never give up making up with your sister. You said it yourself…" The little girl was sleep-talking and it was not the first time either, her brother had sometimes teased her for it which was very ineffective.

"You got a great big sister who always has your back…"

Petunia on listening to the words of the sleeping girl was having a hard time resisting to cried out loud in tears. She didn't want to believe it but deep inside, something was telling her that everything was true and she should do the same. Yet, her doubts left her resisting and she quickly left the room and quickly got back home. Petunia after that day stop harassing her sister and her friends but wasn't making any effort to make up as she continues to ignore her sister. But the dress she left was kept very well protected by the little dark-haired girl.
