Chapter 1.

I ran to the garden and sat down behind a cherry-blossom tree at the very back where my Mum and Mae would never look for me. There had once been a wasps nest behind this tree. Mum and Mae had been stung several times so they had learned to stay far away from this tree. The wasps had all long since flown away and I decided that this was the perfect spot for me. I spat at the grass in front of me. I was still enraged by what my mother had said. Couldn't she see how much I loved Timecrest? I frowned. "I wish I could just live in Alyncia. I bet life there would be way better than on Earth." Right after my words a very strange machine appeared directly in front of me. My dark green eyes widened in surprise. "What's this?" I blinked at the strange contraption. It was square shaped with a large rectangular opening along one side. I approached it warily. Then I shrugged. What harm could a strange floating box that just appeared in thin air right after I wished to live in a foreign world, possibly do? I smiled at the machine. "We could be good friends, you and I." Suddenly, the machine beeped and then I was sucked inside. "Hey, what are you doing?" I screamed at it. It felt like I was spinning, and then I was sitting in amongst bags of barbecue chips and strange devices. I saw a can opener, fancy crockery and some things I had never seen in my life. Before I could examine them more carefully, an arm suddenly came through the rectangular opening above me and grabbed me. I was manhandled out of the weird box thing. I stood gazing around. The person who had grabbed me gave a little yelp. "A girl? Why has the ALRA machine given me a girl?" Then she started sobbing. "I don't want to raise a child. I'm too young, I can't!" She turned and stumbled away, leaving me to stare at the long line of people in front of me. They were all gaping at me. "W-where did you come from?" one man asked hesitantly. I stared at him indignantly. "Oh, I don't know. The garbage plant down the road?" I ignored his baffled look and turned back to the machine. "You are officially NO LONGER my friend. You have betrayed me." I turned and started striding confidently away, while mutters like, "This kid's mad." followed my every step. I laughed at those silly people. "Why are they so shocked? It's totally normal to find a person in the machiney, isn't it?"

I may have made Westlyn sound like a crazy person in this blooper, but we don't talk about that...
