Karin: (reading the script) So you want me to this?
Cattleya: it seems really wholesome!
Me: I want to give ya'll your own time to shine.
Karin: then let's do it.
Me: that's quick
A sisters worry
POV: Eleonore
Trees, animals, and farm fields flew passed me as I sat by the window of this thing called a passenger train. I watched out as I sat there watching the scenery pass by. I must admit the Rising sun empire is a really beautiful country.
"nice change of scenery heh?" my Sister Cattleya sat opposite of me as I watched the scenery flew by.
"I guess so." I mumbled sadly. Why am I taking a trip in this country? Well the main reason is because that Hiraga brat had the ball to tell me off, I was only looking out for my youngest sister, but the kid's words still linger through my head. His word hit me like a ton of bricks, and he was right. Because of my attitude I've lost my fiancé, and I've even scar him for life. Another reason was to see what kind of people the rising sun were. It was about a week after I had that talk with Saito, now Louise is probably at the war camp and preparing for battle. I could've stopped her there but Saito's words kept on repeating in my head stopping me in my tracks. Now she's gone and off to war, and I'm starting to feel more worried than I was. Her stupid stunts with Gallia was more than enough for me to put her under house arrest but now she's a grown woman now and she's becoming more mature.
We've arrived at the city and started to look for a hotel, we've found a comfortable one and I paid for at least a months' worth of nights. I had to turn in a few gemstones to a local jewelry store who gave about forty million in their currency, saying that the gemstones were of high quality and really priceless.
"never thought that we get this much money on one day." I said to myself.
"this place is really full of surprises there Eleonore." Cattleya said smiling. I swear she spoils our sister to much. Our first meal was a quite simple but it's really good, A stew made with spices and ground meat on top of rice, they called it karey or something. that night I couldn't sleep, allot of things went on through my mind, was I really a pushover or something? I only want the Valliere to prosper, sure our family came from illegitimacy but our status as nobles are well respected, was it because of that we were bitter from the beginning?
"Cattleya! Are you awake?" I asked.
"mmmh… I was about go to sleep." Mys sister answered.
"Was I a bit too harsh on Louise?" I asked her. I heard the rustle from the bed next to mine as Cattleya moved the covers.
"I think that you're pretty strict on her, making her a good noble woman was a bit much for her." Cattleya answered. I turned towards her as I Heard her answer.
"was I?" I asked. I know I was strict but was I really harsh on Louise?
"you were pushing all of your values as a noble onto her, and even tried to find a suitor for her, me on the other hand showed compassion towards her, but I didn't get much time due to my illness." Cattleya's explanation made me look back and realized what I had just done.
"I know that you were concerned for her… we all were, including mother and father… but now we have nothing to worry about. She's got a good man who loves her for who she is and he's well connected." Cattleya added. I sighed at this knowing how Harsh I was.
"You're right, I was too harsh on her. And the Hiraga boy is pretty connected with the imperial family. He's quite the character." I said before falling asleep.
The next couple of days were pretty much new for us, every day was an adventure in its own right. The trees and the flowers were really different from the one I was used to seeing. The biggest shock to me was the level of technology and how convenient they are. Money being held in a small card, doors that open automatically, lights that turn on and off at a flick of a switch, and vehicles that don't use any horses to pull them and so much more I can't even describe it's making me dizzy! It was until we managed to sit in a park to cool our mind. There were still people who use some devices to talk to others and many other things.
"it's pretty peacefull here huh?" Cattleya asked.
"If you ask me it's really confusing." I said frowning at the others. This country is really different through and through. Everyone treats others respectively regardless of social status, heck some were even helping out poor people by giving alms and many other things. Just then I heard a voice coming from behind me.
"Abunai!" as I turned to see what it was only to be greeted by a ball to my face. Luckily for me the ball was a soft one. just then I saw the owner of the voice.
"Gomenasai! Daijoubu?" the woman said, I raised a finger and cast a translation spell so that I can understand and talk to her.
"sorry I couldn't understand you at first so can you repeat that?" I asked.
"I'm asking if you're alright, sorry for that, my kids are playing over there." I turned to see what the woman was Saying and saw what looked to be three toddlers.
"It's ok… I wasn't hurt or anything." I answered. Just then I heard Cattleya squeal in delights. Me and the woman turned to see Cattleya face sparkle as if she was admiring something.
"Awww! Such cuties!" She said, with that I noticed that she was looking at the children, who started to hide behind trees.
"they're shy so please be gentle with them." The woman said nervously.
"Sorry it's just that they were so cute and-" just then Cattleya started couching up a fit.
"cattleya! I shouted before she passed out. I shook her just to see if she's alright.
"Cattleya!" I shouted again.
"Miss don't worry! I called for an ambulance so please stay calm!" a man who seems to be near Cattleya's age came running with a device near his ear, just then he looked up Cattleya as if he were a doctor or something. god Please let her live, or I won't be able to live as myself anylonger.
six hours have passed and we were in a hospital, a medical facility where the sick and injured go to get checked up. I was waiting in the waiting room as my sister was being diagnosed and being treated upon. As it turns out the boy who called the ambulance was called Yamato, and as it turns out, he's studying medicine and is working as an intern in this hospital. He's a smart young man and he is surprisingly well connected with the family who I've just met. And it turns out that they are realated to that Saito boy. I blushed from embarrassment the moment after I mentioned my name.
"De Valiere?... oh are you related to Louise chan huh?" mrs Hikari asked.
"How do you know my youngest sister?" I asked curiously.
"My little brother Saito introduced me to her a while ago, she's a cutie." With that I realized that I've just met the brat's eldest sister. She turns out to be a nice person and seems to care allot about her brother and even supports him in his decisions. I guess that's the difference between siblings, it made me realize how much Louise means to me. Just then Yamato came out of the room my sister's being held in, I stood worried about what he has to say.
"how's cattleya, will she be alright?" I asked worriedly. Yamato gave me a serious look.
"well we've checked her out, Ran a few tests." He began, I stood there worried my brains out fearing the worst. Just then he gave me the answere.
"She'll be alright, she has just a weak constitution." I sighed in relief to hear that, but I want to know what a weak constitution was.
"What's a weak constitution?" I asked.
"It means that you can get easily sick. But with the right treatment she'll be fine." Yamato answered.
"Can I see her ?" I asked, and he pointed towards the room and I rushed in, when I saw my sister in that bed my heart sank. There she lied in the bed looking weak yet better than six hours ago, I'm glad she was fine but her sickly body worried all of us in the family. I ran up to her with a worried look on my face and grabbed her hand.
"Cattleya are you alright?" I asked worriedly. Cattleya loked at me with that soft look in her eyes.
"I'll be fine, they even gave me meds as well." Cattleya answered.
"I'm glad that you're ok." Hikari's voice came, I saw her enter the room with her husband and twins.
"Sakura oba-tan awe you alwight?" the young boy asked.
"I'll be fine little one." Cattleya answered.
"You've had me worried for six hours." I sobbed as I let go aplunged my head in the sheets.
"there there eleanore, I'm fine now, see!" Cattleya said softly.
"You're not out of the woods yet, but you'll be discharged in the morning, and he will prescribe you some meds." Yamato's voice came. We all turned to see him coming through the door.
"You're lucky I was there at the park when you had that seizure, Still it's a wonder that you lived that long without proper treatment when you have a weak constitution." Yamato said as he walked towards her.
"I was very fortunate to have met you sir Yamato." Cattleya said smiling
"Our physician were considered the best in our country, guess they weren't good enough." I said smiling.
"but still, thank you for helping my sister, we're in your debt." I said bowing. Yamato raised his hands and waved a bit.
"Oh no need to go that far, plus I didn't do much, but I'm happy that you're alright mrs cattleya." Yamato said, he's quite a humble man for his age, especially for an apprentice.
"He's quite humble isn't he?" I asked Cattleya, but she didn't answered, instead she gazed at the young man as if she were in a daze.
"Uh Cattleya?" I asked again, I was confused to know what was going on in her head. Just then she grabbed onto yamato's hand and smiled the biggest smile I've ever seen. I was about to ask her what she was thinking but her words answered for me.
"yamato you are a really genuine gentleman… please become my husband!" those words shocked me to the core, but I wasn't the only one shocked by this. Hikari, her husband kenji and Yamato looked surprised by her words.
"huh?" I said dumbofounded
"eh?" Yamato said confused while Hikari and Kenji gasped.
"EEEEHHHHHH?!" all four of us shouted in unison. The next night as we were having dinner with the future in-laws, Yamato was invited and Cattleya was all over him, heck she was even feeding him with no shame.
"here ya go Yamato, say aaahh." Cattleya said in a sweet tone.
"Uh cattleya san." Yamato said as he tried to back away. I swear, men from the rising sun are really shy aren't they.
"cattleya, it's highly in appropriate for a noble to do such a thing." I said trying to scold her, she giggled instead of arguing.
"It's fine, we're not in Tristian sister." Cattleya said still keeping eye contact with Yamato. I sighed at this knowing that she's gone. Hikari and Kenji looked at the tow with awkward smiles on their faces.
"This takes me back." Kenji said softly.
"I agree with you there. I never thought that you're Kohai from college would be smothered by a girl, much less an ojou-sama." Hikari said smiling.
"guys help here." Yamato pleaded.
"Sorry yamato… It seems that even I can't help her at this point." I told Yamato.
"Don't worry I'll be sure to have my father accept you, I would love to have a man like you in my life." Yup, Cattleya went completely spoony on Yamato. As days went by not only did I learn allot of the people of the rising sun and their values, but I also get to see my sister spooning over a man two to three years her youth. Not only that but seeing these two made my blood boil with jealousy and envy. Here I was the eldest daughter of the Valiere duchy and my youngest sisters now have potential men to become their husbands. However even though I was engaged to a fine nobleman but because of My attitude I scared him for life about marriage. Little did I know I would find my luck in men will soon change.
It was nearing the second week that I was in my trip with cattleya. And in only five days she had him wrapped around her little finger, I guess she has her charm when it comes to men.
"cattelya… don't mind me asking but, Why did you decided to get married to him?" I asked. We were visiting a local shrine that is known for love and matchmaking. We came here because cattleya wanted to try her luck and see if she's compatible with sir Yamato.
"I don't know… it's just felt right." Cattleya answered.
"Are you telling me it's fate that brought you to him?" I asked her. She grabbed a fortune and looked at me smiling.
"Yeah… I believe so!" she told, as she took the fortune out she asked the priestess what it says.
"wow that's a really good fortune miss, the man you are going for will certainly accept you." the priestess said smiling.
"yay!" cattleya said smiling. I sighed and picked a fortune myself. I took it and read it.
"it says that you will meet yours the moment you take a fall." The priestess said.
"Well that sounds ominous." I said. I'm not into fortune telling but I do know that it's was part of the magical curriculum in school in my younger days. I looked at the Priestess a bit skeptical but she smiled at me quite innocently as if she doesn't know what I was thinking. After a few more minutes of roaming around the shrine and a little bit of sightseeing, we've decided to call it a bay and head back to the hotel to take a bath and then grab some dinner. As we were walking down the Stairs cattleya began to giggle.
"What is it?" I asked in an annoyed tone.
"Oh nothing." Cattleya answered still giggling.
"Something's up. I know it." I accused her.
"Alright I was just thinking how you may find the man of your bream if you fall down the stair?" Cattleya said confessing her thought. I just scoffed at the thought.
"Oh please there's no way that will-Kya!" I slipped on a step and tumble, I was about to fall of the steps till a voice was hear.
"Watch it Miss!" A voice went out, just then my body crashed into something soft and fell to the ground. Lucky for me I landed softly.
"Eleanore! Are you alright?" Cattleya shouted to me in concern.
"I'm fine… lucky for me I landed on something soft." I said.
"That's rude miss." The voice rang out, Eleanore looked down and saw that she was sitting on a man in a compromising position. I stood up and my blood began to boil.
"Couldn't you watch where you were going?" I shouted in anger.
"What?" the man asked as he stood, his face had a scar near his eye and there were clearly signs of a tattoo on his neck, Eleanore got more disgusted by seeing those.
"men like you shouldn't be able to walk the same streets as me." I thought out loud.
"Excuse me?" the man said.
"Huh?" I asked, just hen his aura went really dark and demonic, as if he was a demon. His aura got me frozen in spot and sent shivers down my spine. Before I could say anything the man begins to speak.
"Listen Lady I don't know what your problem is but you don't have to be so rude." The man said, I couldn't say a word because his aura was scaring me.
"I don't know what's going through your head but you should watch your step!" the man added.
"s-s-sorry sir?!" I whimpered. The man sighed and walked away.
"Don't bother anyone else!" he said as he walked out. god I've never met someone so infuriatingly tough like that, his attitude was really uncalled for. But for some reason, my heart started beating so hard and loud.
"Are you alright sister?" cattleya asked.
"Yes… I'm fine" I said in a dazed tone. Little did I know that this wouldn't be the last I see of him.
Sometime after washing ourselves up and preparing for dinner, we've arrived at a pub that was known for its seafood, to my surprise they serve it raw by itself or on top of some rice. I was hesitant at first but the moment I tried it with the Soy sauce that came on the side, I realized that it tasted so fresh I could see the ocean. Cattleya and I ate our fish with glee and talked among ourselves. A few minutes have past and out of the corner of my eyes I saw that man from earlier. My heart began to pound again, I didn't know what to do and Cattleya noticed and encouraged me to do something. I called the waiter and pointed to the man and gave the waiter instructions. After the man finished his drink the waiter came to him and gave him a small plate along with a drink.
"I didn't order these." The man said in confusion.
"The lady over there told me it's on her for tonight. So she's paying your tab." The waiter said pointing towards me. The man looked over at my table, and I wave in an awkward motion. He decided to indulge himself on the food and drink I've ordered and went on with his food. An hour later after finishing our food I met up with the man outside of the pub to talk to him.
"hey uh… I know that I'm probably late but I want to apologize for my rude behavior earlier, I was a bit annoyed today before I bumped into you." I told him apologetically.
"It's ok… I was having an off day myself so don't worry." The man said.
"Um is there anything I can do for you besides paying for your meal?" I asked in an awkward tone. The man though about it and finaly he smiled.
"I'm free tomorrow… wanna go out for a drink?" he asked, I looked up and nodded.
"Sure." I said quickly.
"How about we meet at the city square?" he asked, and I nodded.
"Any way My name is Éléonore Albertine Le Blanc de La Blois de La Vallière." I said giving him a nobles bow.
"gee that's a mouthful miss… I'm gonna call you Eleonore san." The man said smiling. He pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to me.
"My name is Tsukiyama Genji, but please call me Genji, my information is on that card." Sir Genji said as he introduced himself. I gladly took the card and smiled back. Little did I know, Cattleya was standing behind me smirking deviously. That evening I have found a man who I would consider to be the perfect candidate for my husband. I was later surprised to learn that he was a former member of a criminal organization known as a yakuza but he then quit for personal reasons and became an academy professor. Several weeks later during the victory party after the war came to an end, I introduced him to my parents and Cattleya introduced Yamato to them as well. They were happy for us but they were also a bit disappointed that we didn't choose a noble, but it's better than nothing. I just hope that one day our families can be happy together. I may not agree with my sisters choices when it comes to their mairage partners, Louise could have chosen worse but atleast they are close to age. Cattleya was covered since she'll be marrying a future physician, and as for me, I have big plans with sensei here.
Eleanore: could've been worse but I like it.
Me: I tried my best.
Karin: well at least you gave my daughters some good men though I do worry for my eldest.
Cattleya: Don't worry mother, it'll be fine!
Me: I just hope that ya'll approve of this.
Centurion: well at least you didn't choose the worst possible candidates, though I prefer they came from a renowned family but you can't be too picky when your daughters are in their twenties.
Me: exactly… I just hope the readers enjoyed it.
