Chapter twenty: And the fiercest foes rout when they hear Felgrand's shout

The heroes gathered at the battlefield in the ravaged area of Kamino Ward all looked up at the fifty meter tall dragon who stood next to Dabi. The dragon, Felgrand his name was according to the blue flame villain, looked down at the heroes, eyeing them all with varying degrees of interest. His eyes lingered for a second on the women pro heroes that were present before his gaze passed over to, and ultimately settled on, All Might. Felgrand's pupils shrank somewhat as he glared furiously at the Symbol of Peace. The villainous dragon loosed a guttural growl that by no means sounded human as he eyed his target.

"All Might," Felgrand said, "This is the night that you shall die."

All Might, despite being near his limit for using One For All, smirked sarcastically. "Hoo boy, if I had a five-hundred yen coin for every time a villain said words to that effect to me."

"Do you know why it is that you shall die tonight?" Felgrand asked, "It is because fault lies with you."

"I'd like to see you try to kill any of us, villain!" Endeavor roared defiantly at Felgrand, catching his attention.

The villainous dragon turned his attention to the Flame Hero. "Endeavor," Felgrand said, "It is only All Might whose head I wish to claim. I care not for the rest of you, but if you push it, I shall kill all who dares as well. Aside from you Endeavor, for Dabi made it clear he's got dibs on claiming your head, and I by no means am wanting to take his right in that regard from him."

"That just goes to show how much of a bud you are!" Dabi called out, getting Felgrand to turn to look at him. "Hey Felgrand," Dabi went on, "When you're not busy trying to rip All Might's head off, could you keep the other heroes off the backs of me and the rest of the League? We need to gather and store the wounded so we can get out of here!"

The villainous dragon said nothing, but did nod once in agreement while giving off a likewise sounding, "Hmm." Felgrand then turned his head to roar skyward as the ground before him surged and rolled. To the surprise of the gathered pro heroes, Mandalay especially so, four earthen dragons emerged out of the ground, all the same general size and shape of Ryukyu in her dragon form, although lacking any characteristics that would let one tell at a glance what gender they're supposed to be (if earthen beasts like that even have genders, that is).

"That's Pixie-Bob's Earth Flow quirk he's using!" Mandalay cried out, "And he's using it to make earthen beasts just like Pixie-Bob can do!"

All Might, seeing Felgrand having already displayed multiple quirks, scowled in angry bitterness. "He's clearly one of All For One's projects."

After the earthen dragons were conjured, Felgrand looked like he was willing for something to occur, which it did when he actually shrunk down from his gargantuan size to a size that, though still large, was actually about two feet shorter than any of his earthen dragon constructs. "Keep the heroes busy and off the backs of Dabi and the others," Felgrand said to his earthen dragon constructs, right before he blitzed forward in a straight line at where the women pro heroes all stood. He reached them, then flew straight up into the air at a speed that only the incredibly fast Hawks was able to keep track of, and even then it was barely just, and Hawks didn't bother flying up to see what Felgrand was up to.

In the air, Felgrand looked down at his dragonic hands, in which he had grasped Mirko the Rabbit Hero. "Rumi Usagiyama," Felgrand said as he looked down at his captive prisoner, "The Rabbit Hero Mirko. You are the only hero here who cannot be killed."

"Heh, well don't I feel special," Mirko remarked sarcastically, "I take it that you're a fan of mine, you Ryukyu knockoff?"

Felgrand loosed a mildly snarling growl before saying, "Rumi Usagiyama will harmlessly pass out for the next twelve hours." Then, before she could even think about what was happening, Mirko passed out in Felgrand's grasp, snoozing away helplessly. Felgrand from up where he was flying in place looked around, spotted a large gathering of civilians in the distance. The villainous dragon nodded to himself once before he flew off in the direction of those civilians, flying at speeds that would make even Hawks admit were impressive.

After she had been rescued from the distracted villains by Mandalay, escorted from the battlefield, and collected by the surprise appearance of Mina, Jiro, Hagakura, Kurata, and Yamamaya, Yaoyorozu was following along with the other girls as they made their way through a crowd of civilians trying to flee from the direction of the battlefield that more or less used to be Kamino Ward. "So we're heading straight to the hospital the rest of our classmates, as well as everyone in Class 1-B, is staying at?" Yaoyorozu asked.

"Yeah," Mina confirmed, "I figured it'd surprise everyone if you were brought in safe and sound!"

"Well wouldn't Aizawa-sensei when he finds out get upset?" Yaoyorozu asked, "I mean, what you guys said about why Uraraka not joining you in trying to rescue me makes a lot of sense."

"Yeah, but when he sees that not only did we bring you back safe and sound but also none of us were hurt," Hagakure began to reply, "I'm pretty sure that pain in the ass hardass won't be able to say much ab-"

Hagakure was cut off when she and everyone in that general area heard a rushing woosh sound in the air. Looking up, a great many people began crying out in panic when they saw a large dragon that everyone knew couldn't be Ryukyu in her dragon form flying in place in the air, especially considering that this dragon was very clearly male. To everyone's further worry, they saw that he was holding an unconscious Mirko in his dragonic hands.

"Someone catch Mirko!" the dragon called out as he threw the knocked out Rabbit Hero down to a large cluster of civilians before turning around and flying away at jet speeds. Mirko ended up being caught by a very plump mid-twenties otaku guy and his equally plump mid-twenties otaku girlfriend.

Seeing some of the other civilians gather where the plump otakus had caught the Rabbit Hero, the 1-A girls could only look on in confusion. "...Huh?" Kurata said in a confused tone, mirroring the feeling of her classmates who were with her.

Felgrand zoomed right back to above the battlefield in Kamino Ward, being gone for barely more than three seconds. Looking down on the battlefield, Felgrand saw that all of the heroes were forced to group up together to tackle the earthen dragons, with none of the heroes focusing on Dabi and the rest of the League of Villains. The villainous dragon saw it as Mr. Compress was using his quirk to compress the knocked out members of the League into marbles for quick, easy transport while Spinner was trying to rouse Kurogiri from unconsciousness. As he flew in place over the battlefield, Felgrand was met up by Hawks who flew right up to where he was flying.

"I gotta say, I thought that I was the only one who could fly fast," Hawks remarked, "Then you come along and prove you can give me a run for my money." Hawks furrowed his brows a bit. "...Makes a guy worry what you did with Mirko, especially considering you clearly have multiple tricks up your sleeve."

"Mirko is alive," Felgrand said, "She cannot be-" Felgrand was cut off when Hawks, wielding a long feather in each hand, tried rushing at the villainous dragon, only for Felgrand to just as quickly move out of the way while getting ready to take aim. Then, when Hawks just stopped still, he saw Felgrand loose a breath weapon of fire that he recognized as the fire made by Endeavor's Hellflame right at him. Hawks was barely just able to see the fiery doom coming before he was engulfed in the fires of Felgrand's Hellflame breath weapon. It burnt up his feathers, both the long ones he was wielding like swords and the ones still on his wings, causing him to drop like a rock, plummeting straight down to the ground.

Felgrand snarled, more out of a feeling of annoyance than anything else. "...I don't like being interrupted."

Back down on the ground, the heroes were having a hard time dealing with Felgrand's conjured earthen dragons. All Might was able to punch an earthen dragon away when Gran Torino landed next to him. "How many quirks do you think that sneaky bastard All For One put into that Felgrand monster that Dabi commands?" asked the yellow cloaked older pro hero.

"Well obviously he's got Dragon and Gigantification," All Might said, "Quirks taken from Ryukyu and Mt. Lady before they were restored. Endeavor also had his Hellflame taken in the same incident before he was restored, so it wouldn't surprise me if Felgrand has th-"

*SLPAT*

All Might was cut off when something landed hard and fast on the ground near him and Gran Torino. To their shock, it was Hawks, or rather Hawks's remains given that his body hit the ground so hard it busted enough of him to end him. His wings were also burnt away, with some glowing embers still on what was left. "That... that bastard," Gran Torino swore under his breath, "He just killed Hawks..."

"The burnt wings helps confirm the theory that Felgrand also has Hellflame," All Might said grimly, right before the villainous dragon himself landed on the ground a few meters away from All Might and Gran Torino. Felgrand began growing back to his gargantuan size, with All Might saying, "Those earthen dragons of his are also proof he's got Pixie-Bob's Earth Flow," as he and Gran Torino both leapt out of the way of a Hellflame breath weapon from Felgrand.

"He can use Hellflame to cast a breath weapon?!" Gran Torino exclaimed, his eyes widening out of surprise.

All Might grimaced bitterly. "Well he IS a dragon. Breathing fire would probably come naturally to him."

As Felgrand glared at All Might, his attention was sapped when a blast of Hellflame struck him on his side. Felgrand, as well as All Might and Gran Torino, turned to see Endeavor come charging in. "You have a lot of nerve, Felgrand!" barked the Flame Hero, "Throwing around my flames like that!"

"...Your flames?" Felgrand said, "How can they be your flames if I'm the one using them? I'm the one making those flames, not you. So they're my flames, not yours."

"Don't give me that nonsense!" Endeavor roared as he cast a blast of Hellflame fire right at Felgrand, who quickly moved out of the way with such speed that All Might and Gran Torino could tell full well that All For One had also put a super speed quirk into the villainous dragon. Endeavor was also surprised by how fast Felgrand can move, especially considering he was in his gargantuan size. Suddenly, the Flame Hero was knocked down to laying on the ground as a dragonic finger knuckle was being pressed into his back just soft enough to be touching him.

"Enji Todoroki," Felgrand said, "I said that I wouldn't be killing you because that right belongs to Dabi. But you're being an annoyance." Then, Felgrand said, "Enji Todoroki will be unable to use his quirk for the next twelve hours." The fire that Endeavor was casting out, the fire coming out from his costume, even his fire facial hair, all vanished, leaving the Flame Hero without his flames. As Endeavor wore a confused and alarmed look on his faced, Felgrand picked him up then threw him right at Dabi, shouting, "Dabi! Endeavor is coming your way! He's sealed off from using his quirk right now!"

As they saw the villainous dragon fling the flame-less Flame Hero, Gran Torino said, "What in blazes did Felgrand just do to Endeavor?!"

All Might, a dawning look of horror on his face, quietly said, "...No..." Gently shaking his head, the Symbol of Peace, wearing an expression of all hope being lost, went on in a somewhat louder but still soft tone, "...No, it can't be."

Gran Torino heard All Might's second softly uttered line, turned to look at him in confusion. "...Toshi, what are you on ab-"

"Felgrand has Cathleen's quirk," All Might said, drawing an alarmed look out of Gran Torino, "He has New Order."

"Please tell me you're kidding," Gran Torino said while Felgrand's attention was taken up temporarily by Kamui Woods bravely charging at him, "Please tell me that's just a very bad joke. Because if what you're saying is true, and the villains DO have the New Order quirk in their corner..." The older, yellow clad pro hero gently shook his head, his expression changing to match that of All Might's.

"...Then Japan is doomed."

Meanwhile, Kamui Woods was charging at Felgrand, casting a Lacquered Chain Prison right at him. The gargantuan dragon raised his right dragonic hand, engulfed in it the fires of Hellflame, then smushed the attack back easily, going on to swat Kamui Woods with a gargantuan dragonic hand that was engulfed in flames. When the villainous dragon raised his hand, the crushed, charred remains of Kamui Woods could be seen laying in a large crater the shape of a dragonic hand.

All Might, letting out a shuddering breath, said, "Gran Torino..." The older pro hero looked up to the Symbol of Peace, the hero who he had mentored, when he spoke to him. "...I'm going to put everything I have left," All Might said, "All of it, into one last attack in a bid to become a dragon-slayer."

Gran Torino, despite the situation, couldn't help but give a wry smirk. "...What a way to end your pro hero career, accomplishing a feat described in old stories and fairy tales as something only the greatest of heroes can pull off."

The Symbol of Peace took a stance to throw a punch, began charging as much of what remained of his power as possible into one last attack, one last act as a pro hero. "I'm going to be needing some time," All Might said, "So if you and the others can keep Felgrand's attention occupied for, at most, only thirty seconds-"

"Say no more, Toshi," Gran Torino replied, cutting his pupil off before rushing forward past where the villainous dragon was breathing another breath weapon of Hellflame at a hero Gran Torino couldn't identify due to how they were engulfed in flames. "Hey everyone!" Gran Torino yelled at the other pro heroes, "Keep the dragon off of All Might's back! He's getting ready to unleash an ultimate attack aiming to take the dragon down!"

"The number one hero himself needs a distraction to ready an ultimate move to end Felgrand's threat?" Gang Orca said, "Say no more! The earthen dragons have all been dealt with anyway, so we're all free!"

Most of the remaining heroes charged at Felgrand, who turned from the hero he had just incinerated. He loosed another Hellflame breath weapon at the charging pro heroes, although Crust was able to conjure a large shield that was barely able to block the flames. "Nice try, Felgrand!" Crust yelled as Wash and Gang Orca moved to flank the villainous dragon, leaving Yoroi Musha standing behind the Shield Hero. As Felgrand raised his left dragonic hand, Crust went on, "There's no attack you can do that my shield here can't protect me and my-"

Felgrand, when he slammed his left dragonic hand onto the ground, made a large field of giant spikes violently and quickly shoot out and grow in a line right at Crust and Yoroi Musha. The spikes grew past the shield, under and behind it, and going on to quickly and violently impale Crust and Yoroi Musha; each of them were impaled by one spike each, and each spike was large enough to take out their guts and chests. The spikes went on after fatally impaling two of Japan's top heroes, eventually ending after reaching some rubble at the edge of the battlefield, although blood oozed out from the rubble where the line of spikes came to an end.

After Felgrand's line of large spikes attack ended, he felt some attacks strike him on his right side. Turning his head to see, Felgrand saw Gang Orca shouting some orca sound waves at him while Wash was trying to blast him with a large blast of bubbles. The gargantuan dragon was more annoyed than hurt, so he first raised his tail and brought it swinging down upon Wash, slamming into him and crushing him like someone stomping down on an empty cola can. Then Felgrand turned to face Gang Orca and simply clawed at him, a simple rending attack that tore out Gang Orca's chest and gut, not to mention also take the left arm clean off.

All Might was horrified to see so many of his fellow pro heroes, many of them in the highest of ranks, slain right before his eyes in the name of buying him time to charge up his final attack, an attack that now bears the additional responsibility of avenging the deaths of so many of Japan's greatest heroes. When he felt the last of what residual One For All embers he had left flowing into his right arm, the Symbol of Peace yelled out at Felgrand, "Hey, monster!" Felgrand, hearing the man he was wanting to kill call out to him, turned to face where All Might stood.

"You want to kill me?!" All Might yelled, "Well I welcome you to try!" With a mighty leap, All Might flew in a straight line right at Felgrand's face. Seeing the target of his ire fly right at him, Felgrand unleashed a Hellflame breath weapon, able to tell full well that All Might wouldn't be able to dodge it. Dodge the breath weapon the Symbol of Peace did not, for he flew right threw it, his own fury hotter than the flames that licked his form, and then he came flying out the other end of the breath weapon, going on to strike Felgrand in the side of his head near his left eye with a slugging, devastating punch so powerful, it actually threw Felgrand back as All Might bellowed the name of his mightiest attack.

"UNITED STATES OF SMASH!"

Everyone on the battlefield looked on in awe as the Symbol of Peace sent the gargantuan villainous dragon skidding away, hitting the edge of the battlefield before he fell over onto his side. To everyone's surprise, All Might as he fell down from where he was at in the air deflated to a skin and bone form, falling somewhat slower due to said form's lighter weight compared to his large buff form. Gran Torino zoomed up, caught his pupil, then came back down to the ground safely. It was as Mt. Lady in her own giant size went over to try to physically grapple the downed Felgrand that All Might, now in his form of Toshinori, turned to see his handiwork.

"...Please..." the exhausted Toshinori said, "...Please stay down. Please stay-"

"GET OFF ME!" Felgrand yelled, cutting Toshinori's tired, whispered pleading off as he suddenly got up, bucking Mt. Lady off of him before he spun around and slammed Mt. Lady in the side with his tail, sending her flying away to another far edge of the battlefield. The remaining pro heroes were beyond shocked; even the final, mightiest attack that All Might, the best and strongest hero they had there, was able to only stun Felgrand for a few brief moments. After having sent Mt. Lady flying, Felgrand shook his head before he turned his attention to the now weak All Might.

"...You're wearing All Might's outfit," Felgrand said to Toshinori, "And you're hanging out with the old man hero in the yellow outfit like All Might did, but you're all bony and skinny whereas All Might was all muscular and beefy. What happened to All Might?" The gargantuan villainous dragon began to slowly stalk towards where Toshinori and Gran Torino stood. "...Maybe if I kill you as well," Felgrand said, "All Might will get back here to-"

"Felgrand, my good man!" Mr. Compress called out, cutting Felgrand off and making him plus the others on the battlefield turn to see where Mr. Compress stood with Rappa, Spinner, and a revived Kurogiri. "I've compressed all of our knocked out allies for transport, and Kurogiri has been woken up," Mr. Compress called out to his dragon ally, "We're ready to get going!"

Felgrand growled a bit, more out of annoyance. "I still need to find and kill All Might."

"I want to play around more with Endeavor here," Dabi called out to Felgrand, pointing to where Endeavor was rolling on the ground, brushing off Dabi's blue flames, "But we do need to get going to treat our comrades. We'll find All Might and let you kill him another day."

The dragon growled a little bit before saying, "Very well." He then shrunk down from his gargantuan size to his somewhat smaller that Ryukyu size, then flew over to stand with Dabi, Spinner, Kurogiri, Mr. Compress, and Rappa.

Dabi let out a darkly amused hmph of a chuckle as he saw what all had been done. "...You heroes are lucky the League and I need to fall back because we've got some wounds to lick," Dabi called out as Kurogiri conjured a large dark swirling portal, "But mark my words, we won't be so generous next time. Me especially so as I've got my big boss man to avenge, after all." The dark shadows of Kurogiri's portal proceeded to swallow Dabi and his group up, but the blue flame villain was able to give one last line of parting words to the remaining heroes.

"We'll be waiting. Heh heh heh..."

The villains then vanished without another word, leaving the remaining heroes with a sense of dread and a feeling of defeat. Sure, the heroes did technically succeed in their mission to rescue the kidnapped Momo Yaoyorozu, and All Might did finally kill the ultimate big boss villain who was truly heading up the League of Villains, and the remaining villains were forced to retreat. With all of that presented as is, one couldn't be blamed for thinking that things in what would go on to be dubbed as the Battle of Kamino Ward ended in favor of the heroes.

...But nothing could have been further from the truth. Of the thirteen heroes present to fight at the Battle of Kamino Ward, seven were killed; Kamui Woods, Gang Orca, Best Jeanist (the hero incinerated by a Hellflame breath weapon), Hawks, Crust, Yoroi Musha, and Wash. Mandalay discovered to her alarm that Ragdoll and Pixie-Bob, who she hid away while she went to sneak in to grab Yaoyorozu and sneak her out, were both struck by some residual effort from the line of spikes attack Felgrand had used. Both of them were still alive, but they did suffer wounds that, if not treated soon, could potentially turn rather nasty.

All Might, Endeavor, Gran Torino, Mt. Lady, the aforementioned Mandalay, and Mirko all survived, although all of them, aside from Mirko who was simply knocked out by Felgrand using New Order, suffered various injuries ranging from minor enough that they could be walked off to 'go to the hospital NOW' severe. When Endeavor angrily demanded what in blazes Edgeshot and Ryukyu were up to, Mt. Lady who shrunk back down to her normal size had to remind the Flame Hero that Edgeshot and Ryukyu were both on civilian evacuation duty with Rock Lock and Fat Gum, hence why those two top Japanese heroes weren't there to help fight Felgrand.

However, in the days to come, Japan will be dealing with another considerable loss that came as a result of the Battle of Kamino Ward. Toshinori, in his final gambit to deal a serious blow to the villainous dragon, used up most of what little power he had left. He could still transform into his buff All Might form, but wouldn't be able to keep it up for more than a few seconds. Essentially, Toshinori's career as All Might, as Japan's number one pro hero and Symbol of Peace, had been brought to an end, and end that helicopter news crews were able to record and broadcast live on Japanese national television.

That broadcast ended up coming at a moment in time where the timing couldn't be worse for pro hero society in Japan.

Back at the hospital where the 1-A and 1-B students were recovering at following the attack on the summer training camp, Izuku while laying in his hospital bed in his room, was watching the live news about the Battle of Kamino Ward. Uraraka, Tokoyami, Yosetsu, Juzo, and Nirengeki were all standing and sitting around in the room with the green haired boy, so they saw everything on the news as well, including All Might using up the last of his power and shrinking back down to his Toshinori form. They also saw, among other things, so many pro heroes slaughtered live on national television by a villain that, according to Juzo, made the scary villain All Might had fought and killed look tame.

As assessment that Izuku was the first in the room to agree with.

Izuku heard All Might on the news yell at the villain he killed, calling him All For One; the same dangerous villain that All Might and Gran Torino had previously told him about. If what the news showed was accurate, then All Might had actually taken care of a major burden for Izuku. But even though All For One looked dead and gone for good, there was still the dark legacy of evil that All Might's greatest nemesis had left behind. There was still the League of Villains which, by all appearances, was now being headed by that Dabi fellow.

A villain who, while undoubtedly dangerous on his own, was vastly more dangerous considering all of the other villains he had working for him, including that dragon villain Felgrand. Izuku saw on the news that Felgrand had displayed the use of multiple quirks. First off, there was Ryukyu's Dragon, Mt. Lady's Gigantification, and Endeavor's Hellflame; Izuku remembered thinking about how terrifying of a villain someone could be with just those three quirks alone.

That Felgrand villain had not just those three quirks, but also Pixie-Bob's Earth Flow, a super speed quirk of some kind, a quirk that allowed him to control who or what he touched by saying what he wanted to have happen, a quirk that let him send out a large line of giant spikes at a target, and a very potent regeneration quirk because how else could he get back up so quickly after taking a blow like that from All Might. And Felgrand could very well have more quirks than just those. As the green haired boy thought about how dangerous Felgrand with just his known quirks can be right now, Uraraka got his attention.

"...Izuku," the gravity girl asked, worry clear in her tone, "What's going to happen?"

He thought about it for a moment, before finally giving a gentle shake of his head. "...I don't know. I just don't know."

Author's notes;

This chapter sees the conclusion of the events of Kamino Ward here, and... yeah. Things ended loads worse for the heroes here. The Japanese will be struggling for quite some time yet, and they still have some punishment coming their way. Things will be taking something of a breather for at least until the UA students have to head on in for the provisional licencing exams. And that's going to be its own level of tough to deal with.
