Chapter 115: I Learned From You (S6E4)

Extra, extra, read all about it the latest Upper East Side to take center stage in the social spotlight. But you know what they say? If you can't take the heat, then move to Hell's Kitchen.

Elizabeth stood in the elevator very antsy. She had just gotten done with her doctor's appointment. She had gone the week before and did a pregnancy test and it was confirmed. Today was just a check up to decide when she was due and about far along, she is. 12 weeks. She was super nervous to tell anyone because of the last time losing the baby. She walked into the apartment and spotted Blair sitting on the couch with Ella.

"Having fun with Aunt Blair?" she asked, and Blair looked up.

"Hey Liz" Blair replied. "Chuck is in the kitchen. I'm paying him back for last week"

"No problem" she replied and walked into the kitchen to see Chuck hanging up.

"Hey" he said kissing her.

"Hey" she replied.

"How is everything?" he whispered.

"About 12 weeks" she replied. "And I have other news"

"Everything okay with the baby?"

"Babies, twins" she replied "Which they do run in my family, but I thought it was like an every other generation thing since my grandma on my mom's side was a twin and her grandma was a twin"

"Twins?" he asked his eyes big.

"Yeah" she replied and noticed his reaction. "You, okay?"

"More than okay" he replied kissing her "But are you okay?"

"I'm scared to tell people, at least until were further along, especially with having twins"

"I support whatever you want to do" he replied kissing her forehead

"Thank you" she said. "I am gonna be out of town this afternoon. There is an artist that Drew and I are gonna meet with."

"Okay" he replied.

"I'm gonna take Ella over to Dad's" she said kissing him "Or maybe even take her with me. I haven't decided yet"

"Well keep me updated" he replied, and she kissed him.

"You as well"

She grabbed Ella from Blair and headed out. She headed over to the Loft with Ella. He walked in and saw boxes everywhere.

"You moving out, or is this all of Ivy's stuff and she's the one moving out?" she asked.

"Stuff from Lily's" he said, "What brings 2 of my favorite girls over?"

"We wanted to say hi and also see if you wanted to hang out with Ella today. Drew and I are going to this horse show to meet a potential artist for our label"

"I can't sweetie" he said, "What about Ivy?"

"Oh no dad. You may be dating her which if you're happy more power to you, but I don't quite trust her with my daughter"

"You 2 were friends once. She's watched Ella a few times before."

"When she was Charlotte Rhodes" Elizabeth said "And then I didn't even like the real Charlotte Rhodes all that much so…"

"Well take her with you then. She can see the horses. She loves horses."

"That is true" she said then looked at Ella. "You want to go see the horses?"

Ella nodded.

"Then it is settled." She said turning around "You might want to get this cleaned up."

Ivy walked in.

"Liz! Ella!"

"Hi, Bye" Elizabeth said then left.

She headed to the coffee shop and saw Drew's car parked up front with a car seat in the back. She walked in.

"You brought the car seat for Ella?" she asked setting Ella up at a table in a highchair.

"Well, she loves horses. I thought my niece would enjoy it. If we don't end up signing the girl at least we had a nice partner outing. Is Chuck joining us?"

"He is busy. Courtney?" she said, "Where is Matt?"

"He is working the night shift at the Ice rink tonight cause Tony called in sick so I'm covering his shift now until Lisa comes in which is soon. And Courtney is back in Washington DC. Packing to move in with me here at the shop"

"Awesome. I am so excited for you and Courtney." She said then spotted the cookies in the window. "Can Ella get a cookie?"

"So as soon as Lisa gets here, we can hit the road" he said giving Ella the cookie.

"Okay" she said as Lisa walked in.

"Thank you, Lisa. If you have any questions about closing Matt is a text away"

"You're the best Lisa"

"You guys are the best bosses ever" Lisa said, and they left.

They arrived at the show, and they looked around.

"So do you know exactly where she will be?" she said and adjusted Ella.

"No. She just said that she would be in the area at this horse show, but we have her picture and know her name"

"Horse" Ella said.

"Yes, baby those are horses." She said and spotted Lily and Blair.

"Seems were not the only ones here" Drew said.

"You go look by the course" Elizabeth said "I am gonna talk to these two"

"Okay" he said, "You want me to take Ella?"

"Lily is her grandmother so she should see her" Elizabeth said. Drew nodded and walked away.

"Elizabeth" Lily said "What are you and Ella doing here?"

"Drew and I are looking for an artist for our label. We brought Ella because she loves horses." Elizabeth said as Serena approached them.

"Serena darling, I had no idea you were coming to this."

"It was a last-minute decision" Serena said "Mom, I want you to meet Stevens daughter Sage"

"It's nice to meet you" Sage said.

"This is Elizabeth, one of my best friends, Chuck's wife, and her daughter my niece Ella." Serena said.

"Most people call me Lizzie" Elizabeth said.

"Nice to meet you" Sage said

"Nate has only said amazing things about you"

"Thank you"

"Wait" Lily said "Did you say wife?"

"Yeah" Serena said then glanced at Elizabeth then back to Lily. "You didn't know?"

"No, I wasn't told" Lily said

"Well they actually didn't tell anyone really" Serena replied. "Nate actually told me.

"And Dan kinda told him" Elizabeth replied. Lily looked at Ella and grabbed Ella's hand

"It's so good to see you baby girl. I miss your sweet face. You should bring her over sometime"

"Yeah, Chuck and I will talk, and I'll get back to you" she smiled then walked away.

"Horse" Ella shouted pointing. She walked down and spotted Chuck and Bart talking. She began to walk over.

"I didn't realize you had become such an animal lover"

"Dada" Ella said, and Chuck turned.

"What are you guys doing here?" He asked and Elizabeth looked at Bart.

"To see an artist for the label. Ella wanted to see the horses as well." She said and he took Ella from her. Chuck turned to Bart.

"I have a dog too, but this is for Ella."

"Right, your "child"" Bart said then looked at Elizabeth "I still think you should have had a paternity test done. She could be after your money"

"I have my own thanks" she smirked

Bart walked away and she turned to Chuck.

"He is a horrible person" Elizabeth said, and Chuck put and arm on her shoulder.

"His lost" He said "Ella is the most amazing person in this world and she is ours. No one can change that. And our other babies on the way"

He put a hand on her belly and she smiled. She leaned over and kissed him.

"There you are" Drew said "I've been looking everywhere for you"

"Sorry" she replied.

"Hey Chuck"

"Hey Drew"

"So, I found her but she is already talking to another label"

"Well did you tell her to come talk to us, just hear us out?"

"They offered her more than we can"

"Yeah, but we give our artist creative freedom." She said.

"We will find another"

"You will" Chuck said. "I should find Blair and Lily"

"Come here baby girl" Elizabeth said taking her and she started crying.

"I will see you at home. And I will read you a bedtime story about horses" he said kissing her head. "Love you princess"

"It's okay sweetie" Elizabeth said and kissed Chuck. "Love you"

"I love you too"

"See you at home" she said and they walked away.

She got home and sat on the couch with Ella reading her stories. The elevator dinged and she looked up to see Chuck. He walked over and picked up Ella and sat down next to her.

"We picked out 3 stories" Elizabeth said handing him one. "You owe her so big"

"I know" he replied and began reading. Elizabeth just sat there and watched. She was excited about their expanding family. He glanced over at her and smiled.

"If the girls from school could see you now" she replied.

"Oh" he replied.

"They would swoon" she replied "I know I do"

He leaned over and kissed her then went back to reading. Ella passed out and they put her to bed then walked back into the living room. He poured her a glass of water and they sat on the couch.

"You wanna talk about it?" she asked.

"Not really" he said.

"Okay" she replied then smiled.

"What?"

"Despite being raised by Bart Bass, you're an incredible father" she said. "Ella worships the ground you walk on and probably always will. As will her little brothers or sisters. But Ella might stop when she starts dating."

"I learned from the best" he said "Watching your dad with you and your siblings and then learning I was a father. It made me want to be like him."

"He has his flaws but at the end of the day. He is the best."

"As for Ella dating. That will never happen"

"Oh, be careful. Talk like that and you get a Jenny and Damien situation"

"Oh no let's not" he laughed.

She smiled and took a drink. The elevator dinged and a women walked in.

"I am gonna go to bed. These babies of yours is draining me and this looks like business." she said. "I have the monitor."

"I'll take it" he said, and she handed it to him.

"I'll see you in there. I love you Chuck" she said kissing him.

She went to the room and changed for bed. She got comfortable and drifted off to sleep. She felt the bed shift and Chuck lay next to her pulling her to him. She turned to him.

"What was that about?"

"My father was breaking the law. He didn't fake his death to protect me. He did it to protect himself. If I could just get proof, then boom" he replied.

"That's amazing Hun" she replied kissing him.

"He will be out of our lives by the time these babies arrive" he replied. "I promise you and them that"

On the Upper East Side, it's hard to know who to trust. Usually, the answer is no one. We all have things from our past we'd like to erase. But on the Upper East Side, it's not so easy to hit "delete." Step forward there's always a record of misdeed somewhere and someone's always looking for it. Will heal Better not to ignore the past but learn from it instead. Nor the sword Otherwise, history has a way of repeating itself.
