(AN: Hello my lovelies. Sorry it has taken so long for me to post a new chapter. My laptop broke and I have also been dealing with my work being ridiculous. And one other thing, my husband and I have just had our first child. So I haven't really been in the mood to post for a while dealing with being pregnant and now having a newborn son. Anyways, onto the new chapter of The Vampire Sorceress. I hope you all enjoy it. I don't own any known characters or places from Twilight or Harry Potter. Please read, review and enjoy!)
I'm A Witch!
"I mean, I'm a witch!" Hermione said.
Hermione couldn't help but laugh at the looks on Carlisle and Esme's faces. Really, you would think that if there was one mythical being on the planet, there would be others as well.
"Can we see some magic?" Carlisle asked.
Hermione nodded and was surprised when she realized she had her ever-present beaded bag with her. She opened it and shoved her arm up to her shoulder into the bag. She smirked when both the older vampires gasped. She found her wand and pulled it out.
"This is my wand." Hermione said.
She conjured up a bouquet pink Damask roses and handed them to Esme.
"These are Everlasting roses. They will never die. And their scent will always remain." Hermione said.
"They are beautiful." Esme said.
"I have things that might interest you too Carlisle, but I would have to return to my home to access the rest of my belongings." Hermione said.
"Let's get back to the house and you can contact your friends." Carlisle said with a nod and a smile.
They headed back the way they came and entered the house to find it still deserted.
"Alice must know that you need to contact your friends and doesn't want to overwhelm you." Esme said in way of an answer when Hermione asked where everyone was.
Hermione nodded and dug through her bag for her phone. She plugged it in and when it came to life, she found about 40 missed calls, just as many voicemails, and a least a hundred texts. She dialed Harry's number. He answered halfway through the first ring.
"WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN HERMIONE! I'VE BEEN GOING OUT OF MY MIND WITH WORRY. IT'S BEEN NEARLY A WEEK!" Harry shouted into the phone.
Hermione flinched as her sensitive ears rang after his rant was finished.
"I'm sorry Harry. Something happened and I couldn't get to my phone." Hermione said.
"What happened, are you hurt? Do I need to bring help?" Harry asked frantically.
"No Harry. I'm not hurt so to speak. I was hurt, but not anymore. I…I was attacked by a vampire." Hermione said.
It was quiet on the other end of the phone.
"Are you…are you…are you a vampire now?" Harry asked.
"Yes. That was why I didn't contact you, Harry. I was transitioning. And I couldn't answer my phone." Hermione said.
"Kingsley and I came by your house when you didn't contact us for nearly 48 hours. We couldn't find you, but we found some blood and signs of attack a few miles out from your house. When can I see you?" Harry asked.
"You still want to see me?" Hermione asked, shocked.
"Of course, I do, don't be daft Hermione. You are my best friend, and the sister I always wanted. I won't abandon you just because you have different dietary needs now. So, when can I see you?" Harry asked.
"I don't know Harry. I need to get a control over my thirst first. I don't think I could live with myself if I ever hurt you or Teddy." Hermione said.
Harry chuckled, making Hermione huff into the phone.
"Sorry for laughing Hermione, but I can't believe that I remember something from school and you don't. I was just surprised is all." Harry said.
"What do you remember, tell me." Hermione demanded.
"Magicals don't appeal to vampires. Their magic masks their blood, unless the vampire is crazed with thirst. That is why there aren't very many magic vampires. Vampires go after humans with no magic in their blood. Did you keep your magic when you changed?" Harry asked.
"Yes. And I won't be drinking human blood, if that was your next question. I happened to be found by a coven of animal drinking vampires. They survive on animal blood." Hermione said.
"Well, then when can I come and see you?" Harry asked.
Carlisle motioned for Hermione to give him the phone. Hermione handed him her cellphone.
"Harry, this is Carlisle. The vampire that found your friend. My family is currently in Denali, Alaska. You are more than welcome to come and visit." Carlisle said.
"Thanks for saving her Carlisle. It would probably be more comfortable for Hermione and the rest of us if we met at her house. I just need to contact Kingsley and have him alter the wards around Hermione's home. There are a few that are set to repel vampires. And I wouldn't want Hermione to get hurt by her own wards. I'll give Hermione a call in a few hours. We should be able to meet in the morning." Harry said.
Carlisle agreed and handed the phone back to Hermione.
"I'm going to contact Kingsley, and have him alter your wards. I'll call you when it is done so you can go home and plan on having us there at around noon tomorrow. You are going to have quite a few people wanting to see you." Harry said.
"Harry, I don't want to be overwhelmed. I will see everyone in groups. Starting with you, Teddy, Kingsley and Draco. I don't know if I can handle more at the moment." Hermione said.
"Alright Hermione. I'll call you in a bit. I am happy that you are okay." Harry said.
"Okay Harry. I love you." Hermione said.
"I love you too Sis." Harry said with a chuckle before he hung up the phone.
Hermione put her phone back in her pocket. She felt drained. But from what she remembered about Vampires; they didn't sleep. So as much as she wanted to, she wouldn't be able to sleep to get her energy back. She was going to have to wait until she heard from Harry before she could do anything.
"So, what do you do for fun around here since you don't have to sleep?" Hermione asked.
Carlisle and Esme both chuckled.
"Well, I usually work the night shift at the Hospital in Denali. Esme is an interior designer/furniture restorer, so works on that. Jasper and Rosalie like to work on anything with a motor. Edward works on his music, Alice works on her fashion designs, and Emmett just likes being annoying, as his siblings put it. Alice is the most excited to meet you since she has a new model so to speak. And Emmett will love it when he finds out you can do magic. But other than those main things, we enjoy reading, gardening in the greenhouse, and even though we can't eat, we do enjoy cooking. Hopefully your friends will appreciate Esme's cooking, as she loves it the most." Carlisle said.
"All of my things are at my home, so I have nothing to do. I'm going to go bored out of my mind." Hermione sighed.
"Well, our 'children' should be home soon. And before you meet them, there are some things you should know. Edward can read minds. It isn't an active ability unless he is really concentrating. He can't shut it off. Jasper can manipulate the emotions of those around him. And Alice can see various futures depending on the decisions those around her make. She has been a great help at growing our wealth and keeping us from being 'discovered' by curious humans over the years since she has joined us. Emmett doesn't have any special abilities per se, but he is abnormally strong, even for a vampire. And Rosalie is quite beautiful. And she is the one that is most ambivalent towards what we are. She wishes more than anything that she could be a human and have a human life." Carlisle said.
Hermione nodded, absorbing the information. She jumped slightly when Carlisle's phone rang. He picked it up and a few seconds later, he hung up.
"They will be here in a few minutes. And for what it is worth Hermione, I hope you will come to view yourself as a member of this family. I don't want you to have to feel you are on your own in this world. You will have a family in us if you want it." Carlisle said.
Hermione knew if she could, she would be tearing up.
"Thank you, Carlisle. I would appreciate that." Hermione said.
The front door opened and five more inhumanly beautiful vampires walked into the house. A little pixie like vampire squealed and jumped on Hermione.
"Oh Hermione, we are going to be the greatest of friends!" Alice squealed.
"Alice, get off Hermione." Carlisle chuckled.
Alice pouted but let Hermione go.
"Hermione, you've now met Alice, this is Jasper, her mate. And over here is Emmett, and Rosalie, they are also mates. And last but not least, this is Edward." Carlisle said.
Hermione's eyes wandered over each vampire before landing on Edward. She felt an instant connection to him the moment their eyes met. Her legs turned to jelly and her mouth filled with venom. She swallowed thickly and was happy she was now sitting down. He was very handsome. Hell, he was fucking gorgeous. Bronze hair, gold eyes, a nicely shaped nose, a strong jaw, and full, lush pink lips. From what she could see of his body, thanks to his well-fitting, (tight) clothes, he was broad shouldered and he may have been on the lean side, but he was well muscled.
Alice stiffened and let out a surprised gasp. Hermione only looked at her when Edward's head snapped towards her. Hermione, with her Legilimency skills, saw the tail end of whatever Alice was seeing, and if she could still blush, she would be.
"Oh my…" Three voices said.
Alice and Edward looked at Hermione in shock.
"You can read minds?" they both asked.
"No, at least not all the time. Only when I am concentrating. Other than that, it would be like looking at a brick wall for me. And I can block my thoughts too." Hermione said.
"How?" Four voices asked.
"I'm a witch. And it is called Occlumency. It is the Magical Art of blocking one's thoughts from those around them." Hermione said.
"If you're a witch, prove it!" Emmett said.
"Oh, this should be good." Carlisle said.
Hermione pulled out her wand and flicked it at Emmett. He was swung upside down and pulled into the air to hang by an ankle. Hermione sauntered over to him and came to a stop in front of them so they were literally eye, to upside down eye.
"I don't think you really want to see what I am capable of Emmett, darling. From what your father told me; you are the annoying one. I have many prank potions that I can't wait to test on you. Piss me off, and you will never know when it is coming." Hermione said.
Emmett merely chuckled.
"I like her. Can we keep her Carlisle?" Emmett asked.
Hermione rolled her eyes and waved her wand again. Emmett let out a squawk of shock as he fell, flailing to the ground with an almighty thud.
"Sorry Esme. I'll fix the floor as soon as the giant lump of granite moves." Hermione said.
"Oh, living with her is going to be so much fun!" Emmett crowed as he got to his feet.
"Don't bite off more than you can chew Emmett, remember, she is a newborn vampire." Esme chuckled.
A Few Hours Later
Hermione picked up her phone when it rang.
"It's done Hermione, you can go home. We'll see you later today." Harry said.
"Thanks Harry. I'll see you in a few hours." Hermione said.
She hung up the phone and put it back in her pocket.
"I need to head back home. I need to clean up and get some stuff taken care of." Hermione said.
"Will you be back?" Edward asked.
Hermione had to swallow a moan. Edward's voice seemed to caress every erogenous zone on her body all at once. She fought against the arousal, knowing that the other seven vampires would be able to smell it.
"Yes. I will most likely be back tomorrow night. I have to meet with my friends and let them see that I am okay." Hermione said.
"Come back whenever you are ready Hermione." Carlisle said.
Hermione nodded and grabbed her beaded bag. With a slight crack, she disappeared from their living room.
"Awesome!" Emmett shouted.
Rosalie merely smacked her husband on the back of the head. He was a fucking child sometimes.
Hermione landed in the living room of her home and breathed a sigh of relief. She was happy to be home. She checked her wards and it showed that they were keyed to her and would keep out any vampire that wanted to hurt her. She headed into her room and grabbed some clothes before heading to her shower. She took a long, hot shower, trying not to think about Edward, or the fact that apparently, she was his mate and he was hers. She switched the shower to cold and then got out a few minutes later.
After dressing, Hermione headed to her library to pack some books into her beaded bag for Carlisle to read. Thanks to Harry giving her the entirety of the Black Library, and giving her an entire Vault of gold from Sirius, (on top of the Vault that Sirius had given her), Hermione's library was extensive. The most dangerous books were housed in a special room in the library that only Hermione had access to. She also had a vast collection of rare and out of print books, both Magical and Muggle, and a vast collection of Muggle books, from text books to pleasure reading. She had everything you would think to find in a library.
After packing up the books and a few other things in her bag, she sat down in front of the fireplace and curled up with a book.
Noon
The bell over the Floo went off, indicating to Hermione that she had visitors incoming. Hermione tapped the mantle and Harry was the first to step out. He had Teddy in his arms.
"Wow Hermione, you look great." Harry said, once he picked his jaw up off the floor.
The fire flashed green again and Draco stepped out.
"Wow Granger, you look good enough to eat. Where have you been hiding that body? If I had known you were hiding that under your robes, I would have charmed you out of your knickers while we were still at school." Draco said.
"First of all, Draco, be careful what you say around me. Good enough to eat has a different connotation for me now. And second, you are, and have always been in love with Harry. I wouldn't have ever come between the two of you. And third, you were an arrogant asshole in school, I wouldn't have let you anywhere near my knickers." Hermione said.
Harry nearly fell over laughing at Draco's overdramatic pout. The fireplace flared green one last time and Kingsley stepped out. Hermione led the three men and her godson down into the living room of her home and set about preparing a tea for them.
"So, Hermione, what exactly happened? How were you attacked?" Kingsley asked.
"I was going for my usual run and out of nowhere, something hard, cold, and extremely fast crashed into me. I felt a few of my ribs give way and snap, and before I could get my wand from my holster, I felt teeth ripping my neck open. The pain from the bite and then the venom that started to course through my veins, was excruciating. I fell to the ground and I knew I was dying. I was losing a lot of blood and I thought the monster on top of me would finish me off before I bled to death and then the weight was gone and I heard this god-awful metal on metal noise, and then smelled smoke before I was lifted into the air and after that I passed out. I think that my magic did what it could to protect me from the pain, because I didn't wake up again until I finished the change. Then I woke up and met the vampires that had rescued me. Turns out they are 'vegetarians'. They drink animal blood, so their eyes are gold. They offered me a place in their family, if I want it. I was thinking of taking them up on their offer, since they are the only 'good' vampires that I know of that I can learn from." Hermione said.
"Does this mean you are moving in with them?" Harry asked.
"No. At least not yet. Don't worry Harry, if I go anywhere, I will let you know. I am not just going to abandon you. You are my little brother you know." Hermione said.
"Good. I would hate to have to hunt you down and kick your ice-cold butt." Harry said.
"I could take you without magic, and with my hands tied behind my back Harry James Potter." Hermione laughed.
"She's got you there Harry." Draco said.
Harry stuck his tongue out at Draco.
"Don't stick that out unless you plan to use it Potter." Draco growled.
"Ewwww!" Hermione said.
"Oh, don't be such a prude Granger. You look like every straight man's wettest dream right now, and you are getting squeamish because I am flirting with my boyfriend. You are probably the only virgin vampire out there." Draco chuckled.
"Draco, I lost my virginity in fourth year. I was fifteen then, need I remind you, but I did a lot of experimenting that year. Simple Wizard's oaths kept anyone from spilling my secrets, but I definitely am not a virgin." Hermione said.
She laughed out loud at the look of shock on Draco's face.
"What? Surprised?" Hermione chuckled.
"Before I have to hear more than I ever wanted to about a witch that I think of as a daughter, I think I will take my leave. Hermione, I am glad to see that you are okay. If you need anything, you need only ask." Kingsley said.
Hermione got up and gave Kingsley a hug, being mindful of the fact that he was human, and she wasn't. He kissed her on the forehead and then headed off into the Floo back to England.
"Now that Shack is gone, why don't you tell us some more of your dirty little secrets Granger?" Draco cajoled.
"Now that would be no fun for me Draco. I love seeing you discombobulated by the fact that I don't match up to the picture you had of me in your twisted little brain." Hermione laughed.
"Not nice!" Draco pouted.
"I am sure that Harry can make you feel better when you go home later." Hermione giggled.
Draco just stuck his tongue out at Hermione and she laughed harder. Hermione was glad that the fact that she had been changed into a vampire hadn't changed the love her friends had for her. She had been scared that being a vampire would change everything.
At the Cullen House
"So, anything you would like to share with the class, Alice, Edward?" Jasper asked.
"No!" Edward nearly shouted.
Emmett chuckled at his brother's clear discomfort.
"Alice?" Jasper asked again.
"Hermione is Edward's mate." Alice said.
"Why are Edward's boxers in a bunch then? Could it be that you saw him and Hermione canoodling?" Emmett teased.
"It wasn't something I ever wanted to see. I love Edward like a brother and did not want to see him and Hermione being intimate in any way." Alice said.
Jasper, Emmett and Rosalie all burst into loud laughter at their brother's discomfort.
"Thanks Alice." Edward grumbled.
"Sorry Edward, it wasn't like I was actually wanting to see you and Hermione doing that. I never want to see it, ever." Alice said.
Edward growled, got up and stomped off to his room.
"Spoilsport!" Emmett shouted after him.
A pillow flew, at speed, from the top floor and smacked Emmett right, square in the face. This caused the rest of the family to burst out laughing.
"I can't wait to go over to Hermione's house. I want to see what other types of things she has from this Magical World." Jasper said.
"Neither can I!" Alice chirped.
"I am surprised that you didn't try to take her bag from her Alice." Carlisle chuckled.
"What do you mean Carlisle?" Alice asked.
"I'll let her show you when she gets back here." Carlisle chuckled.
It was Alice's turn to pout.
"I wonder if you couldn't see it because her magic protects the physical objects from your second sight." Esme wondered aloud.
"Maybe." Carlisle said.
The Cullens all headed off to do their own activities until Hermione returned back to the house. They couldn't wait to find out more about the newest member of their family. It had been a while since they had had anything to be excited about. A new member of the family was just what they needed.
