Here we go, one of my favorite arcs in the show.
On Serrano, Dooku was with General Grievous in the throne room. He had begun to feel disturbed after Tyron had left with the Dathomir warrior, Savage Opress. He could feel the power of the dark side growing.
"I can sense them Grievous. My old apprentice, Tyron and that creature, Savage Opress are growing stronger and stronger as each day passes." Dooku said.
"You consider that boy and that beast a threat?" Grievous asked incredulous.
"They are a threat to all of us. Even the Jedi. Especially Tyron, he is cunning and strong, just like… well like someone I know too well. With the Nightsisters eradicated, Tyron will use Savage to his own ends. Something is rising. Something sinister." Dooku said.
At a diner on some planet Tyron and Savage were looking for a lead in their search for Darth Maul. They first started on Naboo, the place where Maul was killed and went from there. It led them to some obscure places, that talisman worked oddly. But it got them somewhere at least. Savage was busy choking on some waitress there, much to Tyron's annoyance. He didn't like that Savage was too brutal, they had to have some class.
"Enough Savage, let her go." Tyron said. Savage tossed her to the side into the chef who was coming at them. Tyron and Savage made a break for it behind the diner. They saw there was some cargo with heavy dust on it. Savage wiped some of it on the talisman which glowed immediately.
"This dust. It's a clue." Savage said.
"Excellent, I was wondering if it would help us eventually." Tyron said, sarcastic. They moved toward more cargo until they found the ship it was carrying it on about to take off. Using their speed, Tyron and Savage snuck into the ship before the doors closed. They saw the pilot was not expecting anyone else.
"Huh? Hey what are you doing? Get out of here, I'm about to take off!" He demanded.
"My friend here is searching for his brother; I believe this cargo may lead us to him. From what planet is the cargo from?" Tyron said approaching the man.
"The junk fields on planet Lotho-Minor." The guy said nervously.
"Take us there. And make haste, my friend is not known for his patience." Tyron said. Savage's brutality can be useful at times like this. Tyron the felt a strange presence before they left the planet. An all too familiar presence. And unknown to him, she felt it too.
"Just my luck, I got to go back to that scrap pile floating in space." The guy said.
"Just get moving." Savage demanded.
"Fine. I guess things could be worse, though I'm not sure how." The guy said.
They made their way to the planet where Maul could be. It was very orange and dull. Fires were everywhere. If one was looking for a junk planet, this was it. The talisman around Savage's neck was glowing brighter.
"He is close." Savage said.
"How close?" Tyron asked. The talisman then turned off completely.
"Back there." Savage said.
"Well, very sorry then, my friend.." Tyron said. Savage grabbed the guy off the pilot seat and threw him into the airlock, leaving the two Sith warriors as the only passengers.
"We're here at last brother." Savage said.
"Let's hope this trip was worth it." Tyron said. They landed the ship and started making their way on foot. The air was dusty all around, so they had a hard time seeing. Just then the talisman turned off again.
"No! No!" Savage cried out.
"What?" Tyron asked until he saw the talisman himself. "No! Not when I'm so close!" He said. "NOOOO!" He screamed. "This is what happens when you trust Dathomir witches Savage!" He growled. Just then a little snake popped out.
"Hey there, fellas." He said.
"Shut up! I have no patience for this!" Tyron shouted.
"Over here!" He said slipping away. Savage stepped on his tail and brought him closer, choking him. "You tracking somebody?" He asked.
"What do you know about it?" Savage asked.
"I'm Moreley. I could help you both. We've got everything in here. I can get you what you want for the right amount of course." Moreley said. Savage squeezed his neck a little harder making the snake scared. "I mean it would be my payment free pleasure of course."
"Not interested." Tyron said. Savage then tossed him to the side. "Savage I wish to apologize. I know the witches mean something different to you but—"
"There is no need, we are both angry at them right now." Savage said. The talisman made a noise. "Show me something, show me which way to go."
"What you both need is a guide." Moreley said.
"Shut up and leave us be!" Tyron shouted.
"Wait. Trust me, not everything on this planet is junk." Moreley explained.
"It's not?" Savage asked.
"There are things like me. Things that live and breathe. Perhaps you both are looking for something more like that?" He asked.
"Show us the way then." Tyron said.
"You're already heading in the right direction, even though your handy doo-da there isn't working. But, you'll need my guidance to avoid the fire breathers." Moreley said.
"Fire breathers?" Savage asked. They then saw a giant junk creature with four legs spewing fire.
"Yep, fire breathers. They'll get you. Follow me." Moreley said. They evaded some of the legs smashing down and followed Moreley where they saw more of those creatures. They made their way out but not before encountering some people with staffs. "Ah, the Junkers. Strange folk."
"Yes, that makes sense." Tyron said.
"We better get out of here. They can get a little cranky." Moreley said. Some of the Junkers started cheering when Tyron and Savage approached them. "Uh, guys we really should go."
But it was too late. The Junkers decided they wanted to attack Tyron and Savage. But they wouldn't go down easily. Tyron and Savage ignited their blades and cut down some of them easily. Tyron barely broke a sweat. Savage was waving his double blade around, intimidating them. Eventually the Junkers just left them alone, knowing they wouldn't win this fight.
"Now, if we're quite finished?" Tyron said.
"So, who are you looking for?" Moreley asked. When they wouldn't answer he pressed again. "Come on."
"My brother." Savage answered. "We've been searching for him."
"Are you his brother too?" Moreley asked Tyron.
"Do I look like I'm his brother? No. But I do need him as well." Tyron said.
"Then does he look like your friend?" Moreley asked pointing to Savage.
"Have you seen him?" Savage asked.
"No, no. I just heard stories about a horned man. I thought it was just an old local legend." Moreley explained.
"How old?" Savage asked.
"Old. They say he drags things down beneath and they never come back up. But it's only a legend like I said." Moreley said. Tyron felt the snake was lying about something. He couldn't put it together just yet. Just then a storm came in. "Acid rain. It'll melt us down if we don't find shelter soon." Tyron had to agree, it was getting warmer the more he got wet. They made their way toa shelter where the body of a Junker was tied upside down. The talisman came alive again and began to glow.
"This is it." Savage said.
"Let's find out." Tyron said. Both of them looked around but couldn't find anything. Just then the talisman went dead again.
"Mother Talzin! You were right Tyron! She betrayed us! My brother must be dead!" Savages shouted.
"No! No! Not when we're this far! We have nowhere left to go!" Tyron shouted.
"Yes you do!" Moreley said tapping the floor with his tail. The floor opened up to reveal a pit that Tyron and Savage fell into. "You'll make good offerings and when my master's finished with you, I get the leftovers." Moreley said cackling.
Tyron and Savage fell to the bottom of the pit, landing on their feet. As soon as they did they heard something was down there with them.
"Is that you brother?" Savaged asked, his voice echoing in the pit. They both turned on their lightsabers. They traveled further into this makeshift cave and felt the presence of another.
"Oh lovely. If I see that snake again I may just make him suffer this before I kill him." Tyron commented to himself. They heard the noise again.
"Is that you brother?" Savage asked again. Just then they saw a creature that looked like a spider draw away from them. It was moving all over the place "You! Stop there! What have you done with my brother?!" Savaged demanded. "Answer me you monster!" Just as Savage was talking, the creature tackled him and began picking at him with its feet. Savage kicked him off when Tyron arrived to help. But the creature kicked him aside and attacked Savage again. The talisman glowed brightly again. "What? It can't be." Savage said unbelieving. The talisman lit up the creature's face to reveal…
"Darth Maul." Tyron said looking shocked as well.
"No! AHHHHH!" Maul screamed and fled to his den.
"Wait brother!" Savage chased after him, Tyron following. He couldn't believe it. Darth Maul was alive. He was screaming and whimpering at the same time.
"NO! No! NO!" Maul yelled.
"You are the brother I've been searching for!" Savage said.
"No! No! No! NO!" Maul screamed again.
"Yes we are! We are brothers!" Savage said. Tyron couldn't say anything, he was just mesmerized by the sight of Maul.
"No!" Maul said, laughing. "You don't know! You don't know anything!" Maul screamed climbing the walls.
"I know I am your blood!" Savage said.
"I'm ready for my leftovers!" The annoying voice of Moreley said. Tyron ignored the snake dying in favor of Maul. His incoherent ramblings were interesting. Had he been like this the whole time? Tyron seriously couldn't believe it.
"This is where you live?" Savage asked. "How long have you been here?"
"Years and years and years. Through victory my chains are broken. The chains… the chains are the easy part. It's what goes on in here that's hard." Maul rambled pointing to his temple.
"You have been lost friend." Tyron finally spoke up. "Do you remember who you are? Where you came from?"
"Always remember I am fear. Always remember I am hunter. Always remember I am filth. Always remember—" Maul rambled.
"I am nothing." Tyron finished. Maul turned his head around sharply.
"You? You know? You know?" Maul asked him.
"I do. I remember nothing else." Tyron said.
"Your legs." Savage brought up.
"That scum! He took them from me! He took them!" Maul screamed.
"Who did?" Tyron asked.
"Jedi!" Maul snarled.
"You remember?" Tyron asked.
"I must ask for mercy master. Mercy is a lie. A delusion of the weak to think themselves strong. I ask not for mercy but for the chance to take their limbs from their bodies…" Maul rambled.
"Brother what are you saying?" Savage asked frustrated. Tyron shushed him.
"And through the filth, through the grief, JEDI!" Maul screamed at them, getting in their faces. And then, his madness seemed to have abated as if he was normal again. "Revenge, I must have revenge."
And now we reintroduce, Darth Maul to the story. It's gonna be a wild ride, I'll tell you that much!
