Ch.51 - Visiting the Mansion pt.1
"As you can see, with this new development in our computing systems, we have managed to form a virtual intelligence capable of monitoring and safeguarding the most dangerous aspects of bridging the 'Negative Zone', keeping it stable and at a specified size. As a result, I believe we can now begin working out the final steps to harnessing the energy produced by matter and antimatter collisions." Dr. Adrianne Brashear finished her presentation with confidence.
"Good work." I complimented after going through her presentation.
I kept an extremely close eye on my teams, especially those working with such dangerous projects, so I knew of her progress so far, but this was a good way for everyone to share credit where it was due to make matters official. Everyone in Vision Tech was incredibly intelligent, as such they were well aware that labs and experiments were all monitored for various reasons but they were also curious about other projects as scientists so they liked to gather up like this.
"I'll send you some designs to create a proper 'door' and 'lock' for the connection between us and the Negative Zone. I don't care what we currently believe, life could have formed there, something that can go wrong will go wrong, and I am not risking a worst fallout than Chernobyl because we didn't have enough safety procedures." I added, to which Dr. Brashear easily nodded in acceptance.
"Yes sir. What about actually sending some people to explore the other side?" She suggested after a bit of thought.
"While it could allow us to form a paired system, I will not allow such projects simply because it would the the height of foolishness to simply waltz into such a foreign environment which we understand almost nothing about, expecting matters to just go well. This isn't even going into the fact that we would need to develop a method of flipping states of being so anyone or anything we send doesn't just explode into energy in contact with anything on the other side." I rejected with a frown as I really didn't want to poke the beehive that was the Negative Zone.
An incredible amount of resources and possibilities did exist in it, but so did uncountable dangers. I was not going to bring the attention of Blastaar or Annihilus. And I wasn't going to hint at the possibility of forming a distortion zone to aid in exploring the damn place either, being lucky enough to a formed our bridge on a dead and destroyed planet, away from the majority of the craziness I knew of, much less the rest of it.
The Negative Zone was dangerous and I made sure to protect us from being noticed by learning how to manipulate the antimatter forming it, as well as the unique forms of energy found within to conceal our efforts.
It was slightly hypocritical to have gone over to the dying universe, but it was only for a short time in order to gain enough understanding regarding the destroyed planetoid this portal opened on to form some seals and concealment spells. For me, it took about 20 minutes in total, while less than a second passed on Earth due to the odd time-idiosyncrasies.
I might have even considered using the Negative Zone as a place to experiment if there wasn't a stupid 'rod' out there that made people far too powerful in that dimension. And the fact that attracting the gaze of crazed maniacs who want nothing more than to destroy is always a bad idea, unless you can kill them anyway.
Moving on from that carefully balanced and managed project, we moved over to the half-sister of Reed Richards, my head of Marine Biology, Dr. Joanna Jeffers.
"Our projects have been going great with your highness' input, especially regarding our microbial plastic eaters. We've even worked out a proper method to control and render them inactive. Our only remaining issue is making sure no one can make or modify them to consume others things like metal, hence halfway weaponizing our babies." The brilliant black woman explained with a scowl at the thought of her work being used for destruction.
She wasn't her idiot half-brother who just made stuff for the government for money and a challenge for 'science' without thinking about the consequences.
"I'll pass you my research of gene locking, encoding and camouflaging. Whichever method you believe would be best suited for them, feel free to use and play with." I informed her with ease as we all knew the information was already on its way.
"Much appreciated." She simply nodded with pleased smile. "Beside that, I'm happy to announce the complete success of the rejuvenation of all local coral reefs and of the coral forest, resulting in a marked increase in marine activity across the region.
The new fishing laws and protocols in place have also done wonders for helping local species recover in numbers, and the pollution filters we've installed are causing a boom in aquatic fauna and flora."
"We're happy that your efforts to be paying off so well Jo." Adrianne congratulated as her closest friend at the table, followed by hearty rounds of approval at actual betterment of the planet with scientific advancements.
"Thanks Addri. I guess it's also a good time to say we're going to be challenging things like nuclear waste and the likes after we finish with our plastic eaters." She finished her shorter turn as her department was mostly filled with 'smaller' projects.
"That's great!" Adrianne cheered excitedly. "If it makes things easier, just gather it up for it to serve as matter for my generator. We can dump it in and make energy while cleaning up the planet!"
"We'll see." Dr. Jeffers shrugged. "Can't really predict if getting rid of it or making what is functionally a sponge for waste would be easier."
"We could make some scanners for you to help find sources." Dr. Aaron Isaacs offered.
"Thank you Aaron." Joanna appreciatively replied.
"It's good to see you all being supportive of each other." I commented with a smile. "Now as for you, Doctors Pagan and Isaacs, I must warn you that with the approaching successes of your Time Chamber and AI, that these will not be released.
Bella, you and your team were already aware of this. Humanity simply isn't ready for this kind of technology, as such it is going to have to remain classified. I can however tell you that the fruits of your labors are being used to feed the world through Miracle Agriculture.
Hence why you and your team will be receiving more funding to try and push further.
I have a new goal for you: to create a method which allows organics to not be physically affected by the rapid passage of time inside your chamber, dramatically increasing its utility.
As for you, Doctor Isaacs, you work on Artificial Intelligence will be under Cerebra's preview, kept completely off the grid until we can safely say that this burgeoning being will be able to remain stable.
Afterwards, your basic cybernetic projects can start being released as prosthesis while improving them to form its body. We need to make certain these will not be used to create some sort of bionic 'super soldiers'.
The US is far too crazy about that stupidity."
"We knew what we signed up for your Highness." Dr. Pagan responded with a determined look. "We all wanted to make our Chamber a reality, not the accolades. Even if we don't achieve fame now, the future may still be a different story.
But at least our creation can help the world."
"My team also understands the dangers of an unrestrained AI and our cybernetics. We know full well how humans will greedily turn our designs meant to give those suffering hope into tools for bloodshed." Dr. Isaacs somberly spoke as those present all had the same worries before turning to look out with a fiery will. "But all we can do is forge on so that our works will inspire others to see the good we can do instead of the harm."
With that surprisingly passionate ending, we broke off as our meeting ended, Joanna and Adrianne were the last to really need a presentation.
'I've already assigned amputees and those born without certain limbs, who were deemed unsuitable for the Extremis project, to our Prosthetic research branch.' Cerebra internally reported as her physical form followed me. "Also, Kwannon has reported the capture, processing and re-release of two groups which had been hired to kidnap you and/or kill high ranking members of your companies, master."
"Tell Kwannon she's free to send some presents along with them. Also, have Yuriko send a message that we are not to be messed with." I coldly ordered as I had no desire to encourage the belief that assassins and mercenaries were free to even attempt an assault on my person or people.
"This will alarm some people." Cerebra warned me as untold calculations flashed through her eyes. "It will also ignite a measure of challenge."
"Then put fear into those who hire and get hired." I easily responded. "The rest will be handled locally as our defenses improve continuously."
"Understood. Orders will be sent out with Widow support." She acknowledged as we teleported back home.
Insight then shifted from a casual suit to a yukata, my favored style.
"Also, summon Anne-Marie, Wanda and Meggan. Today's the day I agreed to Xavier's request to meet, so bringing some students along would be a good idea to help break the ice." I requested, causing messages to be sent out.
Always using telepathy with non-telepaths was kind of rude as they didn't have the same kind of understanding regarding it. Although Wanda and Meggan could develop magic based psionic abilities, especially Wanda, it would be a bit riskier for Meggan.
Smartphones worked just as well.
I really wanted to bring Jean, but that would shake far too many hornet nests to be worth messing with that sanctimonious hypocrite and the boy-scout, plus i didn't want the latter to somehow begin simping on Jean. My pupil deserved a better fate than that.
Plus I'm sure Sinister has his two specimens under close observation after losing the Grey family, and I don't want to get on his radar just yet. I've already been acting as rampantly as I could regarding mutants and anymore would undoubtedly lead to him trying something against me out of suspicion.
It was annoying enough convincing all those people trailing after Irene and Raven that the prior had died, hence why the latter had rejoined Magneto, so I can't imagine the lengths others would go to once they heard who was with me.
"Heya teach." Anne-Marie greeted as she walked down the stairs, having been in her room working on engineering homework, which she had discovered a passion and talent in.
"Hello Marie. Have you fully read the message?" I asked as I looked at the much more confident teenager.
She still hadn't gained full control of her abilities, but she had made significant progress in taking in and releasing the abilities of others, having successfully done so consistently to over a dozen different clones. Anne-Marie was also coming into her own physically and mentally, wearing a pair of black jeans and combat boots, forest green mesh shirt with a black sports bra and leather jacket, certainly not being shy about her blossoming sexuality after some time with Emma, while her style was influenced by her close friendship with Wanda.
"Uh huh. So we seein' that guy Raven doesn't like?" She responded while putting on her custom black unstable molecule gloves.
"Yes. Think of it as a little exchange between schools housing and guiding young mutants." I answered with a confident smile she mimicked.
"Do ah get to beat them up?" She asked with an excited gleam.
And yes, Anne-Marie had been rather enamored with brawling after no longer having to fear touching others thanks to Unstable Molecule suits allowing her to learn how to fight. She was a real rumbling girl who liked wrestling, boxing and working on cars and bikes.
The fact that she now had a constant set of powers held in her at all times due to her training also made her start rising the ranks within the super powered rankings, a system put in place for those interested in improving themselves beyond controlling their abilities, with one part dedicated to combat and Anne-Marie loved blowing steam off there while improving.
"Well, I can predict that they'll likely try to show off, especially once they see all three beautiful young women I'm bringing." I answered with a knowing smirk.
"Thank you for the compliment Kai." A remarkably serene Wanda said as she come up from the basement wearing simple ripped jeans, calf high black leather boots, a grey top and black shawl.
Ever since her 'adoption', Wanda has been maturing fantastically in terms of mentality and abilities, gaining a balance she never knew was so off. She's even gotten personal tutoring from the Ancient One in regards to the magic of the Vishanti and meditative practices.
"Always a pleasure." I chuckled. "I was your meditation session?"
"Wonderful. I also made a breakthrough in my anti-magic and order magic." She happily smiled.
"That is good news. Congratulations." I responded earnestly.
"Yeah, good job Wands." Anne-Marie chimed in, even if she still had some issues getting her head around the 'magic is real' revelation.
"Thank you both. Where's Meggan?" Wanda asked as the younger blonde was usually the fastest to answer her favorite person's summons.
"She had to get away from her gardening clubmates, so give her a few moments to teleport here." I easily answered.
"Right, today is Thursday." Out household witch remembered. "What about the time difference? Wouldn't it be around 7am if we go by teleportation?"
"I need to stop in Britain on the way back and this will be a good chance for you all to experience a... traditional American high school." I answered, earning raised eyebrows. "Raven works as the principal as a cover for her overseeing and training the teenage recruits of Magneto's group and Pietro should be going there as well.
So Both of you can have a good time."
That revelation received two smiles, although very different ones.
Happy and excited.
Savage and bloodthirsty.
One can guess which was on whom.
I never said Wanda didn't still really not like her father with a desire for some payback on Pietro.
"I'm back!" An energetic and upbeat voice announced as a blonde projectile emerged from a gust of wind, forming a hug missile i caught with practiced ease.
"Hello Meggan. How was your day?" I amusedly asked the energetic girl.
"It was great! We finally got to transplant our redwood saplings from Vancouver!" She answered with a beaming smile.
"I did hear those took a while to receive. Well I'm glad they're finally in. Just try not to make them grow too fast just because of their potential." I responded after a moment of pondering. "We don't want a repeat of the flytrap incident."
"Hey! I took care of it myself!" She protested with a pout.
"After they were big enough to eat rats anyway." Wanda snickered with a teasing smile.
"*muuu* They we're still very nice." The elfin blonde pouted at being teased.
"Yes, yes, very nice." I patted her head, causing her to lean into it with a much happier expression. "Now, are you ready to visit some new people? I'm quite certain that Lady Gaea's Avatar is going to be there as well."
"Yeah! I can't wait!" She beamed.
"*Chuckle* Then go get changed out of your gardening clothes." I gently told her, causing the girl to fly upstairs using her control over wind.
"Excited little thang as ever." Anne-Marie chuckled at the sight.
"It does make one smile however." Wanda noted with a soft one.
It took less than a minute for her to return wearing a light green sundress, her favorite straw hat and flip flops. Meggan not exactly one to be affected by any kind of weather, she preferred airy and freeing styles over anything complicated. Usually she even forgoes footwear, but we are visiting somewhere new, so she simply put on her colorful flip flops.
"I'm ready!" Meggan declared with puffed out chest as she performed a flawless jump and landing from atop the stairs with no difficulties.
"Then let's go." I simply responded.
"Allow me." Wanda said with a gesture of her hand, opening a portal directly to the front of the Xavier Mansion.
I looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
"What? I knew this place was important in the future so I scried it and memorized a bunch of places to teleport to it." She shrugged as i nodded appreciatively to her forethought.
Before we could walk through however,Yuri-Kaasan, Yuriko, Kwannon and Cerebra walked through a different portal to join us, earning them a questioning look.
"We humbly request permission to accompany you, my lord." Kwannon bowed, followed by Yuriko, with Yuri simply coming to my side as the most natural thing in the world.
'They worry about your safety.' Cerebra informed me.
"If that is what you want, I will not stop you." I replied with a shrug. "But have you taken care of everything regarding the hitmen?"
"Of course." My psionic spider-kunoichi firmly answered.
"Alright then, but Yuriko, please try not to neuter Logan while we are there." I requested while looking at my second bodyguard.
"Yes your highness!" She responded immediately.
"Let's go then." I simply said as our little group walked through Wanda's portal, reaching the front gate of Xavier's school for gifted youngsters.
Ding Dong*
In mere moments the bell was rung by the excited Meggan.
"Yeah? What do you want?" A gruff and grumpy voice answered the intercom.
"Hello, I am Kaihito here to visit Professor Charles Xavier as per our agreement. Our apology for the early arrival though, being 13 hours ahead has made us... mistime our visit." I politely explained.
"Hm? I think Chuck mentioned something about a Prince... that you?" The man questioned after a moment's thought.
"Indeed. I am Imperial Prince Kaihito of Japan." Was my answer. "I am here with a few of my students, my maid and two guards."
"Yeah whatever kid. Anyway, come in. Chuck's up and waiting." Was the gruff answer.
"How disrespectful." Yuriko frowned as the intercom turned off. "As someone trained in the ways of the Samurai, this man should have far greater respect towards his highness."
"Remember Yuriko, he has also lost most of his memories." I reminded her.
That and Wolverine's mutation was also said to affect his brain to actually keep it healthy, even through the countless traumatic events he has suffered, resulting in selective memory lost. And that was before being put through the wringer by Weapon X.
With the gates opening, we all walked down the entryway casually. It was the typical long driveway, but it gave the girls time to look around and spread their respective senses.
Wanda was frowning over how few actual defenses were around, I mean get passed the fence and all that's left are some turrets, Meggan was enjoying the open fields and nearby trees, Anne-Marie was mainly bored, Yuriko smelt around with a frown and Kwannon was swatting away Charles telepathic probes.
The man felt rather surprised that his probes were batted aside like that, even before they could try and reach the mental defenses each girl had in place. They all had different ones, with Yuriko and Anne-Marie's currently being made exclusively by me while the others had a mix of their own and mine, some even with Jean and Emma's inputs as well.
We were rather open and trusting about each other in that regard.
As for the mansion, it was around the same as I remembered when I grave-robbed the place, freeing Jonas from his live burial, except my technopathic senses were hinting at quite a few upgrades to Danger and Cerebro rooms... not that they were anywhere close to my own, but new ideas were always welcome. Beyond that, renovations had been done to change wider rooms into dorm style ones, allowing for more long term guests.
Reaching the front door, it was opened by a short man with a very well muscled physique clothed in a pair of simple jeans, a red flannel shirt unbuttoned enough to show his pecks and hairy chest, sporting unique, horn-like, black hair, side burns and scruffiness. He was scowling as he subtly sniffed at us, his body tensed and ready for combat at any moment, but also focusing quite a bit on Yuriko likely due to their enhanced animalistic sides.
There stood the Wolverine.
"Logan, please let our guests in." A calm and measured voice requested, causing the stout Canadian to snort and move aside.
Within was a bald paraplegic white man in his mid-40's with clear blue eyes, relatively handsome in an academic way, sporting navy pyjamas as he sat in a metallic wheelchair with X-style wheels.
"Hello Professor, apologies for the early visit, but the time difference did slip from us." I said as I perfectly controlled my body to not allow Logan to catch my fib.
"It is no trouble at all your highness. In fact, I should apologize for not having specified a time." He politely replied. "Although I must say that I am surprised regarding your companions.
Is it ok for students to be away for so long?"
"Worry not. I thought it would do good for them all to meet other mutants and see a different approach to learning and mastering oneself." I explained to the man as we entered the mansion. "Making friends is usually a good thing as well."
"*Chuckle* On that we can agree." Charles Xavier responded with a softer smile. "But now that you're here, please do join us for breakfast. Even if it is evening for you all, I'm sure a warm meal would still be welcomed."
"We thank you for your hospitality." I humbly replied as my manners required.
"A bite sounds good." Anne-Marie agreed as her stomach rumbled a bit.
She must have skipped supper while tinkering.
"I must say, breakfast and some tea does sound lovely." Wanda chimed in as well.
"Then please, help yourselves as the ones in charge of it today haven't awoken yet." Charles offered rather obviously.
"How many students and staff will be needing breakfast?" Yuri-Kaasan simply asked the man.
As a maid, one serving the Imperial family and myself, she had a certain amount of pride in her work and skills after all.
"Hmm, 17 if we include everyone in your party." Charles answered after a moment's thought.
"Perfectly doable. Breakfast shall be ready in half-an-hour. Have the children and staff washed and ready in 40. Girls, you know what to do." Yuri swiftly issued orders like a seasoned commander taking control, even making Logan snap to attention with her tone and aura.
"Oh my." Charles remarked as the gruff man actually followed the order.
"*Chuckle* She isn't the head maid for no reason." I amusedly informed him as the girls went with Yuri to set the table for everyone.
We might have servants, but mother thought it was better for everyone to be able to pull their own weight and learn how to be able to live on their own should they ever decide to do so. This meant all the girls had chores, knew how to cook for themselves, how to balance check books and the likes, even some minor car and appliance repair as well as maintenance.
The idea just stuck to me and I then created one of the only truly mandatory courses in my Academy based on it. I always thought that education systems never readied young people for the rest of their lives, and I was embarrassed I hadn't done something like that on my own.
"Shall we talk a bit before breakfast then, your highness?" The Professor suggested.
"Let's." I acquiesced with nod.
Using a small joystick on his chair, he turned and guided us to his office.
The room was almost archetypical of an academic's study and a psychologist.
Warm and calming colors, shelves of books, pictures of locales and places the man visited before the lost of his legs, some with important individuals, a therapist couch, a finely crafted mahogany desk with two leather chairs before it, all caped off by the large window letting morning light in.
Charles placed himself behind his desk, which did cause Yuriko to frown slightly, but she kept quiet.
"When Moira contacted me regarding another individual sharing the similar ideals and methodologies as myself, I really couldn't quite hold my excitement I meeting you, your highness." The bald man admitted with a wry smile. "I was even more surprised that you also managed to aid young Kevin.
Would you be open to sharing how you succeeded where we failed?"
"Mainly a temporary funnel for his abilities." I began to answer as this was mainly professional curtesy. "His base abilities are psionic reality manipulate by bringing the astral plane to ours in a limited radius and manipulating it, so to allow him and his body time to adapt properly a funnel was placed to limit that radius until he could control which thoughts are acted upon by his powers. This results in him learning how to not use his powers really, thus dramatically slowing down the burnout of his mind and body.
The end goal is to have him gain sufficient control to allow Kevin to change his own body into supporting his powers. He is a reality warper after all, and he just needs to learn how to use that kind of power responsibly and while keeping his humanity/sanity."
"I knew of his body, but his mind?" Charles questioned with a surprised look.
"Did you believe having your every thought becoming reality came without a cost?" I asked in return, seriously looking into his eyes. "Human minds aren't equipped for that kind of power. Our minds are far too chaotic to work with our need for order. It is why we have subconscious thoughts and desires, parts we aren't aware of ourselves, because they would never allow us to be 'sane'.
But then put that kind of chaos front and center with no control. How someone can just change reality like their thoughts.
It would break them.
They would begin to see reality as 'cheep' or 'fake' in a sense, and we both know humans just aren't really equipped to hold that kind of power, especially not a child who had to be locked up like Kevin had to be for his own, and others, safety."
Xavier was a renowned psychologist as well, so he knew exactly what I was talking about when I talked about the psychological effects such power could have on a person. We both knew concepts regarding 'value' too, so he was heavily mulling over my point.
He might believe in human-mutant coexistence, as well as the methods of people like Mahatma Gandhi, but he also understood the human mind like few others due to his powerful telepathy. Charles knew full well how power corrupted, hell it was why he had foolishly locked those aspects of himself away in an attempt to become a symbol of peace.
"Yes... I can see your point. But wouldn't holding something like a 'power blocker' be dangerous?" He questioned as he tried to not let his uncomfortableness over such a thing existing show.
"Honestly? I believe it would be far more dangerous to not have ways to seal powers away." I answered with a shake of my head. "Some people will inevitably use their powers for selfish goals or harm others, even if accidentally, and this will require their abilities to be sealed for containment or training purposes.
Having a method to do so will allow those without powers to feel safer regarding individuals like ourselves, thus reducing fear, which would lead to hate simply because people don't like being afraid, finally reducing the suffering on all sides as we make sure the accidents aren't repeated and criminals are locked away."
"I don't want to believe such drastic responses would occur, but I can understand it from your point of view as a Prince." Xavier sighed due to truly not liking the thoughts of humanity giving into its baser instincts so readily. "I would request that such devices or abilities be kept secret or highly secure. There are...extremist groups on all side who would do great harm to mutants should they get their hands on something like power blockers."
"Of course. Although it would be difficult for them to replicate the magical aspects." I replied as it was obvious to secure my methods.
"Excuse me?" The suddenly stunned Professor questioned. "Did you just say... magic, your highness?"
"Yes. Are you not aware of the mystic arts?" I asked in return as it shouldn't be that hard to find out for him, turning a pen on his desk into a butterfly and back again. "My mutant abilities lay in languages by the way, not transmutation."
"B-but that's impossible." The scientist whispered with wide eyes.
"Why? From a mystical point of view, most mutants are hyper-specific mystics with genetically hard-locked powers." I explained lightly as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Wanda actually has a mutation which was changed at birth to connect her to Chaos Magic, Meggan is part elemental, granting her immense talent in their obvious talents, and I know quite a few mutant abilities which can be reproduced through the mystic arts.
Although some can be mimicked through technology as well, accepting the current Mystic arts as a different form of understanding of reality significantly bridges our understanding of it and has allowed me to make great advances."
"But, magic? Do you truly believe in such things as a scientist your highness?" Xavier asked with heavy skepticism.
"I will not try to convince you Professor Xavier. You are a man who has a set view of the world and the future he desires, as such I will only tell you that blinding yourself does not take the fact that the sky is still there." I responded, dropping the subject for now.
Those words at least had some impact, but the man clearly wasn't going to become a believer at the moment. His understanding of the world would be that 'Gods/goddesses', 'Wizards/Witches', and even 'monsters' are all ancient mutants recorded by primitive beings and glorified through time. To him, magic is a hoax used to explain what science hasn't yet.
Technically, he wasn't truly wrong. Science and technology will reach a point where it can access other dimensions, explain the beings there as extra-dimensional alien species instead of things like demons and gods, and where their achievements would be seen as feats of gods and mystics to less advanced beings.
But bridging both sides would cause a boom in development unmatchable in any way.
Hell, I could attest to it as I was turning the Astroid Belt into a series of fortresses and virtual death fields, manipulating time and space, and working on creating my own pocket Galaxy.
So moving away from more controversial topics, we instead discussed some ideas regarding our schools, with my own being massively more developed and holding far more mutants than his being kept secret however, turning to what we would do today for this visit.
"If it could be arranged, I would like the girls to basically join your students for a day in their lives as it were. They've had very different experiences than normal young women so far, and I thought this would be a good way to help them see more of life amongst a different kind of peer." I informed him with an easy going smile.
"That can be easily arranged. I'm sure the school principal would be open to students from such a prestigious academy visiting, my own word not withstanding of course." Charles happily responded as if he was truly delighted. "And I'm sure my own students would be thrilled in the opportunity to form friendships with other mutants out in the world."
"My idea exactly. They may have each other, but gaining friends and allies elsewhere is always a good thing." I agreed as a knock was heard.
"Enter." Charles called out for our 'benefit'.
"Pardon the interruption, but the maid has said breakfast was ready." An absolutely stunning African woman with long white hair, finely sculpted features, sky blue eyes, luscious lips, and a body which could beguile men as easily as end them hidden behind a thin beige lounge dress and slim slippers. "Also, when did we receive a Japanese maid of such caliber?"
"Ororo Munroe, meet his Imperial Highness Kaihito, Headmaster and Founder of the Japanese Imperial Academy for the Gifted, and extraordinary young mutant visiting with some students and his entourage." Charles introduced with a calm smile, causing the African Goddess to not-so-subtly look at me from head to toe, immediately understanding far more than her academically inclined boss and teacher. "Your Highness, Ororo Munroe, a powerful atmokinetic and our language instructor."
Standing up in predatory grace which caused flashes of recognition to pass through her powerful eyes, truly understanding I was different than the professor in a single core facet: I was a Warrior.
My path in learning was deeply rooted in my desire to improve myself and others to meet the challenges ahead which could not be faced in any other way than with power.
She could feel that as a proud fighter herself with significant skills.
"An honor to meet you Princess of the blessed line." I greeted suavely in Swahili. "It is a blessing to meet the Avatar of the Earth Mother and descendant of Mother Magic's favored."
"I'm sorry? You must have me confused with someone else." She replied with great hesitation.
"Your hair and eyes are clear signs and your powers as well. Speak with Wanda and Meggan, two of my students later. They will explain." I simply stated with certainty she couldn't ignore, slowly nodding her head. "But for now, we should go. Yuri can be quite intimidating when it comes to meal times.
I wouldn't be surprised if she went to personally drag in stragglers."
With that, I left behind a confused and intrigued Professor and a thoughtful Weather Goddess to met the rest of the current X-Men roster.
Author Notes:
Feeling a bit so-so about this chapter, but it is what it is.
Gonna basically be Kai taking a few of the girls into an X-Men: Evolution episode, mixed with some 616 squad make up.
So next chapter is going to be more focused on them.
Kai is currently keeping more of a facade with Xavier due to just how many powerful mutants he could potentially gain by being his ally, the fact that it gives him access to Ororo being the most important at the moment, with Bobby Drake being second.
It just opens more avenues even though Kai has also preemptively blocked a few of Xavier's earliest mistakes with the X-Men like Jean's blocks and the first contact with Krakoa clusterfuck.
Trying to just have him be firmly entrenched in the world of supers that will emerge basically, being linked to the F4, some founding Avengers and now the X-Men is bound to be useful after all. Be the middle ground and most will want to meet on you as it were.
Hope it still was partially enjoyable as more glimpses into everyone's lives are shown.
